Once upon a time, there was a very brave boy named Hakeem who lived in Tripoli, the capital city of Libya. Hakeem was an orphan who didn’t have any parents or other family. He lived all alone!
At night, Hakeem dreamt of being successful and having a beautiful house with a nice garden and big rooms. He also imagined inviting his friends to his home.
One day Hakeem went to visit one of the wealthiest areas in Tripoli. He was just daydreaming and admiring the magnificent houses when a stern voice startled him.
“What are you doing here, gypsy boy?”
Hakeem turned around and was astonished to see a severe-looking policeman standing there.
“I’m just looking at the houses,” replied Hakeem timidly.
“Leave this area immediately or you will be in big trouble!” the policeman shouted.
Hakeem hurried away in tears. He promised himself he would work hard so that one day he would be welcomed in any of the wealthy neighborhoods, and not be ordered to leave.
Staying true to his promise, Hakeem wanted to embark on a journey that would lead him to his destiny and future happiness. When Hakeem heard about a commercial convoy heading to Egypt by camel, he decided to join them.
Hakeem left the rocky shores of his home in Libya to journey to the bustling streets of Cairo in Egypt.
After traveling for weeks, Hakeem was very happy to arrive in Cairo. It was a day where the sky was blue and the sun was warm.
Shifting his gaze from the clear sky to scan the horizon, Hakeem saw a large pyramid in the distance. The pyramid looked to be far away, but he thought he would try to walk there. After a few miles, Hakeem became tired and took a nap beneath the shade of a tree. When he woke up, he saw a boy about the same age as himself.
