Annabeth Wilson stood in front of the body mirror. Her blue long silky prom dress and her brown curly hair made her look beautiful. But, she was insecure about herself. She didn't know what to think. She shrugged her shoulders with a whatever look on her face. She grabbed her hand purse with one hand and used the other hand to hold part of the dress up so she couldn't trip while falling down the stairs meeting her date with her parents.
Annabeth walked out of her room slowly and entered the hallway. She took a long slow deep breath and held it. She was nervous. What if the date doesn't go well? What if Aiden doesn't like what I'm wearing? What if he breaks up with me? All these what if questions popped up into Annabeth's mind. She didn't know what exactly to expect.
She stood at the top of the stairs, feeling like a princess. She could hear voices from down the stairs and her mom laughing at Aiden's jokes. Annabeth smiled and gripped the dress, and began to walk slowly down the wooden stairs, in hopes no embarrassment will walk down with her. Everyone got quiet and turned around to face her. She honestly did not like the full on attention. They all smiled as well as Annabeth.
Once she was at the bottom of the stairs, Aiden looked at her closely with a smile,"you look beautiful." He quietly told Annabeth.
"Thank you," she smiled.
"So, you know when to be home," Annabeth's dad said," 9:30-"
She cut in,"dad! No, that's waay to early," She cried.
Aiden laughed,"he's joking. But, yes Mr. Wilson, your daughter will be home at 11:30. I promise."
Dad smiled and Annabeth giggled,"have fun you two,"he said opening the door.
They walked outside and there was a limo parked next to the curb. Annabeth gasped and clinged onto Aiden's arm," are you serious?" She cheered.
He chuckled,"yes, all of our friends are in there, too." He said.
The couple walked on the path leading to the curb where the limo was waiting for them to enter. Aiden opened the door and Annabeth stepped inside the limo. Lights took over the air and everyone got quite silent.
"Hey Anna!"Everyone cheered.
Anna smiled and sat near the door. Aiden got in after her and sat next to Anna. Music played through the speakers and she knew tonight was going to be fun. "Who wants a drink?" Caleb, one of the guys in the limo asked.
"What kind of drink?" Amnabeth asked.
"Soda, duh!" Caleb said with his dorky smile.
A couple of the teens laughed and held cups out while Caleb poured Mtn. Dew into their cups.
After minutes of sitting in the extended out car, the lumo pulled up to a restaurant. Anna wasn't really hungry, she was mostly nervous. Her heart wouldn't stop racing and many things rushed through her mind. They all exited out of the limo and people stared as they approached the restaurant. Every once in a while you would hear a gasp because of how the beautiful the girls looked. Annabeth held onto a little bit of her dress again and she forgot her hand bag inside the limo. She didn't think much of it though and kept following everyone inside.
Somebody already reserved a spot for the group to sit at. The waitress walked them to a big circle table with a bench surrounding most of it. They slid into the seat and sat close together. Annabeth was at one end of the bench and Aiden sat next to her.
"Having fun so far?" Aiden whispered.
Anna nodded,"sure. I forgot my purse in the limo, though."
"Is there anything you need from it?" Aiden questioned.
"Yeah, a few things,"she lied.
Anna just wanted to catch some air. It seemed as if she just wasn't ready for this huge event. She's never done something like this before.
"Want me to go with you to get it?"
Anna nodded again.
"Excuse us,"Aiden said politely.
The two got up and everyone went back to their conversations.
