Their was a girl called Jane and she lived with her parents in a beautiful cottage, Jane believed in fairy’s and she had so many books about them. So her story begins on a winters day in December of the year 1983.

Her fascination with fairy’s was quite large she kept a large amount of information in her journal. So as she awoke she decided to write a story about a fairy called mercury.

Mercury was a beautiful blonde fair headed lady, she had the most gorgeous eyes of colour pink, her nails were shaped so nicely and shaded with the colour light pink this was her favourite shade of colour.

She wore a long flowing dress with plenty of lace on it, her wings were pure silk with tints of pink. Jane always wanted to be a fairy and she sat and read so many books, as Jane sat having her breakfast she continued to read about Mercury she wished and wished to some day to be like her.

So she finished her breakfast and put on her flowing pink dress and shoes and decided to venture into the garden, as she followed the path she saw all the pretty flowers and greenery. She decided to sit on the garden bench reading more about Mercury, she just couldn’t put the book down until suddenly she heard a movement behind her in the bushes, it was a little white mouse.

He moved very quickly into another bush so Jane tried to follow him but she tripped on a large stone and fell through a trap door, Jane fell quite far but landed on something soft, it was balls of cotton and wool “How strange she thought to herself” She stood up and tried to climb back out but couldn’t the hole was to deep for her height, so she sat down and started to cry “Oh my” when she was crying she noticed a passage it was covered all with ivy leaves but it wasn’t scary.

She decided to move closer and peered through the ivy “Oh this is amazing” she saw an old clock on the wall of the tunnel, the clock had letters instead of numbers. She knew something was strange about the place she had fallen into, but nothing seemed dangerous.

She looked around for some sort of word but couldn’t see anything that would work, so she sat and though about what word she needed.

She though to herself if I was Mercury what word would she use, she continued to think, till suddenly she she had some words to try, so the first word was “Hello” but this didn’t work so she kept thinking, then suddenly she thought fairy it couldn’t be, so she tried it on the wall clock, she entered all the  letters on by one and to her amazement a door appeared and opened “Oh My” she said.

The door lead to another room but it was full of silks and fabrics, she knew that this was somebodies home but who’s?

She looked at all the beautiful silks hanging from a rack, their was much coloured fabrics stacked on shelf's, buttons in jars and pots this room was a dream, as she looked around further she found another door hidden behind the hanging fabric, the door knob was wooden with a chain connected to it Jane thought “What’s the chain for” Anyway she managed to open the door and it lead to a small windy wooden staircase going upwards, so she followed it as she walked up the staircase another door appeared but lucky enough it was unlocked.

She opened the door to reveal that looked like a small bed and a small wardrobe and a miniature set of drawers, she then knew this was certainly somebody s house but who’s?

She then noticed pink items on top of a chest of drawers, their was a hair brush and a comb “Wow” she thought “Where am I”.

Jane called out “Hello” but nobody answered her, so she sat on the small bed and tried to rest but she couldn’t.

So with that she tried to find the exit to the building but no luck, their wasn’t even any windows most strange. So she carried on looking around and came across another door so she tried to open it, it lead up again so she countined and yet another door, where does this go “Oh it locked” Jane knew that the door needed a key to open it, so she went back into the small bedroom to search for a key, she searched over and couldn't find anything, so she tried the door again and it opened.

It lead to a small kitchen with some tiny small mouse in a cage, finally I’ve something she approached the cage and said “Hello” but no reply Jane thought mice don’t talk, but how wrong was she.

All of a sudden the mouse said “Who are you” Jane replied “I'm Jane” the mouse replied “How did you get here” Jane replied “I fell down a trap” the mouse said “You need to get home” Jane replied “Yes Please”.

The mouse said “Find the key and your be free” Jane thought “That is far to easy” the mouse said “it’s simple if you try” so with that Jane tried to find the key.

She searched and searched but still nothing so she decided to return to the bedroom as she looked carefully the comb was magical it kept changing shape, so Jane thought “Key Please” well to her amazement the comb changed into a small key, she quickly moved back up the staircase where the  mouse was “I found the key” now can you please tell me “Where is the door” the door was no where to be seen, the mouse said “You need a peace of chalk”, so yet again she looked for some chalk, she decided to search in the fabric room, and found some chalk “Yes” she said.

She then returned to the mouse “I have the chalk and the key now what do I do” the mouse replied “Draw a door” so that’s what Jane done, she drew a large door with a keyhole and all of a sudden the door she had drew appeared, the keyhole was ready for the key, she she carefully placed the key in the keyhole and turned it. “Wow I’m free” said Jane.

The door opened up and as she walked through the door she discovered that she was back in her own bedroom.

She quickly rested on her bed and fell asleep, when she awoke she saw Mercury standing near by her, she had on her pink dress she said “Welcome home” and disappeared.

Jane called out for her mother and she came into her room “You OK” “Yes mother” her mother said she found Jane at the end of the garden asleep on the bench with the book.

Jane tried to explain about what happened but her mother said I banged my head and had a slight temperature.

So Jane tried again to explain but her mother didn’t seem to understand, so Jane just returned back to her bed and rested and went to sleep. The next morning she went to the bench at the end of the garden to read her book again, this time their was no noise in the bushes or no mice anywhere, so she decided to return in the cottage for breakfast, Jane will always remember the true story to what happened, maybe one day she will see the little white mouse and Mercury again.
