CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION TO CARING FOR GREEN CHEEK CONURE

Green-cheeked conures are wonderful, entertaining pets with a small, finger-perfect frame.

In comparison to its bigger relatives, the Green-cheeked conure is favored by rookie bird owners due to its affordable cost, tiny size, placid demeanor, and low noise level. The green-cheeked conure reproduces with relative ease and is thus commonly accessible. The Green-cheeked conure is one of the tiniest conures and is sometimes mistaken for its near cousin, the maroon-bellied conure (Pyrrhura frontalis). These birds are so visually similar that pet retailers and even their owners sometimes misidentify them. Both are around 10 inches in length and mostly green. The green-cheeked conure is a tad brighter in color than the maroon-bellied conure, with gray barring on its breast and a reddish belly. Hence the name, the maroon belly features golden bars on its breast and heart-shaped maroon colouring on its abdomen. Both have a beak and feet that are dark gray. When they are young, before their complete coloration develops during the first molt, they are most susceptible to confusion.

I emphasized spending time because green cheek conures need a great deal of care.

Consequently, if you didn't know that, there's likely a great deal more you don't know about these wonderful birds...

Therefore, this essay will serve as a comprehensive reference to everything a potential conure owner must know.
