NDIBOBO
JOURNEY TO THE GREAT CITY
“My grandchildren, Lusaka is a beautiful place with big lights that can light up the city like the sun does.” Grandpa Ndondo said.
Ever since I was about five years old, grandpa Ndondo use to tell me stories of the great city Lusaka. he would call us under the avocado tree and tell everyone in the family a story of Daniel the city boy, the story never got old as much as he used to narrate it.
Seven years later when I was twelve Years old, grandpa Ndondo called for me while seated in his old chair. It was not furnished, it look as if it was just made of wood and an animal skin on top. “Ndibobo I have come to learn of your forbearance, and child this is the advice I can give you as your grandfather. Lusaka is beautiful but if you are not careful it will eat your heart and drink your blood. I’ll write to your father's elder brother to come and take you with him to Lusaka.” He said
“Grandpa thank you.” I said with a smile on my face, a feeling to just cling him.
“Don’t you ever forget my advice” he said and stood up from his old chair then went inside the house.
Grandpa had enthralled me so very much with what he said I couldn’t keep it to myself so I ran to Chikokota my young brother. He was three years younger than me.
“Brother grandpa Ndondo said I will be going to Lusaka the great city!” I shouted
“Wow.. Ha-ha wait brother, what will you do there alone? He asked looking worried.
“I am not going to be alone, dad's elder brother will be the one to come pick me up, I’ll stay with him” I answered while thinking to myself if really I’ll be
