Prologue

I felt the earth beneath my paws as I ran through the night. The moon was a slender crescent above me, barely lighting my way, but I did not need it. I could see great. Aiden, my second in command, was behind me, his black fur nearly invisible. The scents of the night filled my nostrils, the distinct smells of predator and prey. Tonight, we were the predators and they were the prey. I could see them up ahead, struggling to get away. It was no good though. The murdering vampire was trapped. What he did not know, was that Lizzy was up ahead with Juniper, both of them waiting to attack. A few seconds more and he were in position. Juniper leapt a blur of copper colored fur. She took the brown haired leech to the ground, gripping him by the shoulder. The three of them took him down, killing him as I watched. When it was over, I lifted my head and howled into the night.
