Tragically on judgement day a growing number of believers in Christ will stand naked and exposed. Judgement day is the day of revelation when everything hidden will be exposed by God's light (Ephesians 5:8-15).

There are three types of righteousness, the righteousness of the law, the righteousness of God and the righteousness of the saints. The righteousness of the law is the ability to do what is right using personal strength. Faith in Jesus Christ enables all believers to receive the righteousness of God as a free gift. This righteousness from God places every believer on the same footing so there is no difference between believers. The Lord Jesus then expects His people to use God's righteousness to do acts of righteousness in the Earth. As they do this they purchase for themselves, white linen garments to be worn on judgement day. Failure to do righteous deeds in the Earth will be exposed as nakedness on judgement day. Some may argue that self-righteousness is a fourth type of righteousness, however self-righteousness is a flimsy attempt people make to declare themselves righteous. Such an attempt will never be acceptable to God in any era.
The Laodicean church was a self-indulgent church concerned for its own material well-being. Christ gave this church a stark reality check. They were naked due to their failure to do the good works Christ had assigned for them to do. The only way to obtain clothing for wearing on judgement day was to purchase it from Christ. Good deeds for God on Earth, is traded for treasure in heaven.
