I’ll stand beside you, come what may
Your loyal and loving friend.
I’ll greet you daily at the door
I’ll stay until the end.

Just pat my head and stroke my fur
That’s all I ask of you.
And maybe walk me once a day
That’s all you have to do.

I know that you have worries
And things are on your mind

With happy panting breath

My master ‘til my death.


The days go by so slowly
I find not much to do
Just gaze outside the window
With thoughts of only you.

My coat is getting grey now
My legs are filled with pain
It’s hard to stand beside you
Or go out in the rain.

Please lift your eyes and see me
I’m hurting on the floor
I cannot spill my feelings
To you, whom I adore.

I see you looking sad now
And picking up the phone
You smooth my coat and pat me
And listen to me moan


I think it’s time to go now
I hate to see you cry.
I’ve loved you for my lifetime
But now I say “Goodbye”.
