Sincerely,
Valerie Evening
At first, I never thought that this will happen, I never thought I’d experience necklace, smiles, and memories in my young teenage life in ninth grade.
First day of school is the day where you’ll find friends, crushes, and anything that will make you smile.
For the first part of this chapter, I never found any friends, crushes, or anything that made me smile. But in the last part of this chapter, I’d found any possible thing that made me happy.
I was just there in the classroom. I stared at the blackboard, mostly looked at my classmates who had fun with the best day of their lives!
I envied them… so much! They were lucky to experience that awesome life here at this school.
It became the same old day in school over and over again.
Until it became months, I always hang out alone in the swing, too sad for my young teen life. I should have more fun here at school. I should be able to smile like them and make a thousand of beautiful memories.
If only aka Justin Bieber was here.
Oh, well Justin Bieber isn’t exactly what you think he is. He isn’t the singer. He was just my huge crush on a guy outside school. His hair was the same as Justin’s hair so I called him by the name, “aka Justin Bieber.”
It sucks! I hated my life in school. The time was so slow in there.
When those thoughts, flew in my mind…
A girl approached me with an innocent smile on her face, “Hi Valerie!”
I was thinking that maybe she knew my name because she heard it from the others. “Hi!” I answered back shyly.
She sat beside me on the swing. “My name is Reem nice to meet you, Valerie!”
“Nice to meet you too, Reem.” I said with the same smile on my face.
“Let’s go to the library.” She said while the both of us decided to go there.
In the library, we made many fun memories. Soon enough we became close friends and my boring life in school amazingly was not boring anymore.
I’d mostly let her read the stories I’ve written. She always said the words that made me so happy, “It’s the most amazing story I’ve ever read!”
“Thanks Reem you are a sweet friend!”
She’d play with my hair and I let her. Every day we talked a lot during recess. We couldn’t talk in class because she wasn’t my classmate.
She always made me SMILE.
In the class, I became close to Eca which real name was Esther. We talked a lot during our free time in French. We talked about Justin Bieber all the time. I couldn’t help myself to not talk about him.
It was always him. Him...him… him...him...and him.
Until now, whenever I remembered him even though it’s already part of the past, somehow there was a little pain in my heart because I’d never seen him again, I knew that seeing him can only happen in my dreams.
Despite my sadness, she changed it and made it into happy memories.
I visited her in her house. It was such an amazing day.
Then, we’d always play jack stone.
By the way, Eca and I were both experts about the jack stone game. We taught our classmates how to play the game.
It was nice teaching them how to play it. They all got potential in playing because they became good at playing it for only one week. It took me two years to be good at that game. All of us had a fun and amazing day because of that game.
Then, one spring day bowling came in. It became the main thing we did at P.E which was so fun. Who even thought bowling would be the main sport I’d be doing in P.E!
I met Nur, meeting her made me experienced having a friend who was always there for you.
Eca, Reem, and Nur were all there for me.
At bowling it was always me, Nur, and Eca together. It was so fun!
I suck at bowling by the way to be honest.
Nur and Eca were good at bowling. In the rankings in bowling, I was always in the last part. Both of them were always in the top part. Anyways, the three of us had a happy day!
One day we went to the mall as a hang out.
Nur, Eca, Tina, and I were there. The rides scared me to death super! It wasn’t a roller coaster, but it’s so super scary! I couldn’t help myself not to scream. I actually thought I was going to die.
We took pictures. We went window shopping. I even bought a shake that tasted so sour that I ended up regretting I wasted my money. At the same time, we did every amazing moment in our lives.
In a blink, Curt came to my friendship life. He was my friend on the bus. The whole ride we talked a lot. He was a lot younger than me, but it was so fun having him as my friend. I never knew that being in the bus I’d be so happy.
We took pictures on the bus. I missed those times when he was always there talking with me during the whole journey.
If it wasn’t for all of them, I wouldn’t experience a gazillion of great MEMORIES!
Eca and I were really close friends so we decided to buy a friendship necklace. It was really cool and cute at the same time!
Our necklaces were broken hearts, and the color is pink and it is a silver necklace. If you stick the broken hearts together, it became a full heart. The other piece of the heart is written ‘best’ and the other half is ‘friend.’ When you place it back together you can read it as ‘best friend.’
The NECKLACE we had was so memorable to me. All these years I still kept it until now.
At first, I never thought that this will happen to me but it did.
Once again I met true friends.
When I became happy with my friends, I realized that I can make more happy memories, smile a lot, and even received a necklace to treasure my whole life.
I also realized that true friends are just there right in front of your eyes. I just kept my eyes closed, that’s why in the first semester I never felt happy at all.
Now, finally, I opened my eyes and met them.
If you feel lonely like me because you feel alone… just open your eyes, and don’t close them. Just like magic, you’ll see right in front of your eyes, your true friends.
Whatever happens, remember you are always my true friends and nothing can ever change it.
Yours Truly,
Valerie
