To all the Fairies of the world (glamorously glittering)
All the Fairies
(precious)
(Like colourful fish on a coral bank)
(She?)
We're glamorously dressed in green shining fields
Gloriously glimmering where blue sunshine shields
Pooling rays of white might through drizzling leaves
Moonlighting softly the one who believes
Our dancing through dazzeling snow flakes makes
This earth a wonderful place full of grace
(He?)
Emerald hosts in bright and precious hues utter
Petals of flowers, soft rabbits, birds that flutter
Rainbows more brilliant then jewels in a crown
More beautiful then natures most extraordinary gown
Shades diving in song shimmering depths glitter along
Creatures winging dark skies in harmony strong and we long
Sweetly to comfort, lovingly heal
Make this world real
Conférencier:
(a most wondrous personage, he is the Pink Flamingo)
(Should have some feathers and some glamour)
(Thinking some of the killer queen in we will rock you)
(Or of Velasquez´ infantine)
(He mostly tries to go on telling his story whatever happens,
He can break down, laugh, smile, be happy, weep, get angry, and throw a temper tantrum
When others interrupt him etc.)
(The Plants or the Fairies singing a gentle “douah” in the background)
Plants/Fairies
in background
Conferencier
(Gentle)
I´ll tell you a story
of glory Douah, dab di dab di dabb
of a lady loving a man Daaaaaa
how it began?
He was a singer, he was dancer, he was a star,
and he paid her a beer .
she was scared, she was lonely, and she was poor,
and she liked to be near.
He talked, he played the guitar, he kissed her cheek
took to her eyes
she changed lights, baked a cake, sat for hours Douah, dab di dab di dab
puzzled, confused and blessed
you foresee trouble
and you are right.
I´ll tell you the story
of glory
of a lady loving a man
and how it began
(Guitar solo, a man, on stage, playing guitar, a woman at his feet, looking up admiringly)
interrupted by
Tthe Dog
(a very kind big dog too long limbed to move very straight)
Uuuh, uhhaa, u-uuu-uuuh,
uuuhuaaa,
Conferencier
What’s the matter doggy?
The Dog:
Have you seen master?
Conferencier
Uhuuu -a-aaaahaaaa ha
The Dog
So you have seen him?
Both
U-uuuh, ahaaahaha uhuuua
The Plants: (or the Fairies)
(They may sing in the background of his talking most of the time though at times he may try to quieten them with or without some success.
Doua, shoubi-doua, doua
Doua doua doua
Conferencier:
Only you can tell whether he’d be wronged,
She liked him much yet for the Master of all she longed
Those realms she had sought far and wide
With many adventures, she wanted to hide
Her paltry being, her shame, her fear
Torn she was, torn to pieces and scrambling bits
Feeling as if right out of many pits.
A wonderful Mole
(A tap dancing, spade laden, nice roundly, rather black mole)
She heard voices in her head
I understand, she was not bad.
They called for help, so help she gave
Might it lead her to the grave
It led out of many ways clearly.
It cost her dearly.
Yet on she went, a small knave,
Admirably brave.
Though a little weak I have to confess,
That made the mess.
She didn’t know what was waiting for her,
And how many enemies he had out there.
himself being his own fiend
She is in sore need of a friend.
Conferencier:
His presence was too much for her senses
And she stopped wearing contact lenses
And what’s this to do with that?
Her money ran out leaving her flat,
Her blue eyes were sad and pretty
She lost some brains, that’s a pity
Did some strange things unexplained
Went out even when it stormed and rained.
For a time she didn't mind
That he never came her to find
In full daylight for everyone to see
And even at nights, was it ever he?
Hiding in the shadows of her poor small room
She fell in a gloom.
And I guess
It was a mess
And nobody else would have played that chess.
The Fairy Princess Gladys
Do you mean it?
Green it? Grow it? Blow it?
Conferencier
Dear, I tell the worst first.
She had been happy just to see him smile,
Now she had lost all hope in a while.
For she felt he liked everyone better then she
Leaned stronger on the things no one can see.
The Fairy Princess Gladys
That’s where I come in
Your story is too thin.
Conferencier
That’s not the way to win a young man’s heart
Why, dress up, be pretty and rich and smart
She went poorly dressed, her hair like hay,
To take his fear away.
The young man looked at her as if she where a stone
Leaving her there and alone.
She had started to watch out for Master of all before
The books she could get hold of and all the lore
She read while the young man seemed to laugh even more
As if he might want such a thing, ugly and sore.
A Bunch of Sunflowers:
(Or as many as possible, in sort of a funeral procession
Maybe some singing:
Where’s the sun, where is it gone
In the background
Having the Conferencier try to go over it)
Where’s the sun in this?
We are looking for the sun.
We’re turning left and right
He might
Be there, anywhere
It should be clear
It should be near
The sun is usually up in the sky
But it’s lost for today, everyday to die
And all our heads hanging
Against the darkness banging
Hoping for a new morning.
Conferencier
But she cried for mercy to him
It wasn't a whim
The master of all showed her grace
She found his countenance in a haze.
And the young man would
Despise this Master for being good.
The Sunflowers
Where’s the sun
Where’s it gone?
The white Rabbit
(Very excited)
It´s just gone behind the hill
I saw it leave.
If you hurry you may catch it yet.
A Sunflower
(While the others go on singing)
Thank you little brother
We don’t want to bother
Her majesty
We’ll wait for her return
All the Sunflowers
(They turn and go back the whole way)
There’s the sun
It is gone
There’s the sun
It is gone
(Very high pitched, one)
(We live of hope and faith
Evenings take our joy away
Mornings turn our heads
We stare at her all day
And are we happy)
When the sun
Is gone
When the sun
Is gone
When the sun
Is gone
(We are sad
It makes us mad)
When the sun
Is gone
When the sun
Is gone
When the sun
Is gone
.....
Conferencier
The woman started to find peace and joy
In the presence of the most high
The young man was upset
Went to find the next pretty girl and kissed her
Right in front of the old woman
And it was a sore to her heart
And a nasty thing to do
At least the old woman thought so
And I do too
The young man
Went happy away
And had soon forgotten all about her
Least that’s what she thought
And that’s what a decent young man should do
He shouldn’t be thinking
On old women
But go out and have fun
What with all the pretty girls around
For she was not only older but peculiar as well
So he got well off and she did probably too.
The pretty Girl
(Pretty girls wear pretty clothes and have pretty hair, etc)
The beautiful Girl
(The beautiful girl has a beauty from the inside
That shines through the eyes.
Of course there are girls that are both,
Pretty and beautiful but none that could be either)
How do I look? Where is my book?
This sunshine is nice it’s grabbled by mice
My shoe has a hole or by Mister Mole
Let’s cut some flower let’s have a shower
The Fairy Princess Gladys
intertwined
I’ll go to Spain I’d like some rain there are the twain
And there’s my frame we’d play a game it’s such a shame
My picture inside a nice horse to ride away they now slide
And here’s my gown maybe we’d drown they could wear a crown
Her Majesty the Fairy Queen
My boyfriend will love I have seen a dove It’s two of a glove How they both clove
My hair looks so well how good roses smell on earth they dwell wish I had a spell
My socks are clean the sky I have seen they aren’t mean to make them keen
Be good to me I like the glee the wrath to flee our world to see
The Fairies
(Whispering)
Twiddling fiddling hobbling toddling
Daisies and dizzies and willowy dew
Mists creeping, angels weeping
Is this what the world is coming to?
Nobody knowing or showing a glance
Our realm is as close as is our dance
Daisies and dizzies and willowy dew
Mists creeping, angels weeping
What can we do?
The Dog
Haw, haw, haw,
Have you seen master?
Conferencier
Do you realise
That I try to tell a story?
The Dog
Very decent thing to do.
Haw, haw, haw,
Have you seen master?
Never mind, go on being decent.
Haw, haw, haw,
Master! Master! Master?
Haw, haw,
Don’t leave me behind
Be kind
Haw, haw, haw.
Haouuuuuuu
haouuuuuuu
Conferencier
And the bad boy sings in the night
To give her a fright
And to take her peace away
They broke down the laws of universe
They broke down the inner walls of shame
The wall that protects the heart and the soul
They hated her so, or was it only a fun thing to do?
For the purity she searched
They made her pay
They did.
Bad Boy
I want to cry
I want to die
I don’t want to be bad
Ain`t so cool
To hurt a fool
Ain ´t so nice
To enjoy my vice
Yet is there any other way
To enjoy life
Is it more than just drudgery
To be good and be kind
What a bore
What a plight
I like
To go out at night
And have fun
Life is so trist and grey
Want to come along?
Make somebody really hard cry
That makes me feel god
As nothing else does
Hey
The sunflowers and sun feathers
Where’s the sun
Where’s is gone
Where’s the sun where’s it gone
....
One
We loose all hope
We loose all faith
All
When the sun
Is gone
One
We walk the shadows
Walk in hell
All
When the sun
Is gone
One
The morning washes
Away all guilt
All
When the sun
Is come
One
Free of hate of envy
And of lust
All
When the sun
Is come
One
In sunshine only
We are good
All
When the sun
Is come
One
Why does it go?
Oh why oh why
All
When the sun
Goes down
When the sun
Goes down
One
When the sun goes down
My soul goes black
All
When the sun
Goes down
When the sun
Goes down
Where’s the sun
Where’s it gone?
Where’s the sun
Where’s it gone?
White rabbit
Aren’t they sad and forsaken?
Without the sun they cannot be good
The poor things know
They don’t even have a chance
To go searching for the sun when it’s gone
Her Majesty the Fairy Queen
Rabbit dear
We’re always near
If just they would come looking
There are friends around
Beauty abound
The stars shine bright with silver
The good old moon
Hums a tune
We’re part of the great dance
We all bow low
Before the master of all
He knows
Why the sun needs to die every night
To be washed and bright
There’s so much evil in her light
When morning comes
She’s ready to shine
White rabbit
Her majesty
What honour
It’s so lovely of you to talk
To a small one like me
Her Majesty the Fairy Queen
I like the small
I like the humble
I like the hurt
I like those who stumble
My care is to them
They are my joy
My heart tenderly
Reaches out
To show a flower
To lift the curtain
To our veiled world to them
I like the small
I like the humble
I like the hurt
I like those who stumble
Conferencier
Khaaamm!
Her Majesty the Fairy Queen
Go on, good man,
Go on
We were just chatting rabbit and I
Don’t bother
Conferencier
Her majesty's presence is more then my humble story
She is the glory
Of all the land and the sky
I'd rather bow low then rattle dry.
Her Majesty the Fairy Queen
hmmmhmmmmhmm
hmmhmmmhmmmm
Conferencier
She heard voices in her head
At times it was nice
Having somebody talking in your head
At times it was like a radio
You’d rather put off but could not.
At times what they said
Hurt her or drove her mad
Yet she could see colours
Where none had been
She adapted and showed colours true
Colours not all can see, can you?
As bright as she was able to.
One day she made
A landscape here
A sunset there
Rainbows with raindrops and clouds
She started to delight
In the art thus won
And found some shared
What she had
They could see the sun go down
And the could see a cows pooh
And they enjoyed the game
They enjoyed
The lights
Though her life’s force in truth it was
Yet she learned to show her love
Only the invisible way
A way nobody could blame her for
For they couldn’t see or prove.
Some loved her for that
For it gave them strength
And it made their voices strong
For to the theatre she took a turn
Where music and poetry reign.
At the opera she got known quite soon
Yet they liked her rather well
For whenever she came the lights seem to go
Up a scale or two
And some bowed low before her art
As day by day it improved
And she bowed to them
For out of pain
Her heart had the colours won
And so she shared her pain with them
They helped her to live on
She was thankful and so where they in turn
Though they didn't know her face or her name.
And she ever stayed on her side
In the shade
The pink flamingos
The pink flamingo song
(There’s many and they are chattering away in numbers)
One
Nice to see you
Two
I’m happy too
Three
Wonderful day
Four
So I say, so I say
One
Wonderful sunshine
Two
Friends of mine
Three
With just a small pool
Four
My legs to cool
One
Before you rest
Two
We have a guest
Three
What’s the whirl?
Four
A lovely little girl
One
Come my dear
Two
Do come near
Three
So nice the sun
Four
You are a hon.
One
And so are we
Two
And so are we
Three
And so are we
Four
And so are we
(They chatter on with small voices)
One
The grass is green
Two
I've seen, I've seen
Three
The sky is blue
Four
We all love you
(They repeat those all around)
The Fairy Princess Gladys
Pink flamingos
Of sunny weathers
Flamingos rose
Of sun ruffled feathers
Colour of sunsets
Where rosy dew gets
Like a rose
In my fathers garden
It makes me happy to see you,
Friends on a happy day
Thanks for the kindness
Thanks for the chat
Pink flamingos yawn
Rosy as Japanese cherry leaves
Cleaves the colour of dawn
Chatting on this and on that
Kind and sweet
Gentle they tweet
And chatter the day away
A fish for a dish
Till sleep will leap
Up and all grows quiet
At night
I have to find
A memory
Leave you behind
Unforgotten
You look so bright
With rosy light
Good night, good night
This is your lullaby
Good bye good bye
Flamingos
Good night, good night,
Be bright, be light
Good night, good night
The Fairy Princess Gladys
I’ll see you again it seems
In my dreams,
Good night, good night.
Flamingos
We’re dreams it seems
Good night, good night
Conferencier
Her strength gone long
She wasn't as strong
In body and in soul
The voices grew foul
In her head, in her mind
Where they had been kind.
Her delight was to see
Somebody’s glee
When she showed a thing
A dragon or a snake or a heart
At times she would go down herself
And sit by the one or the other
Not in physical shape
But in thought of course
For an elder woman she remained
When they noticed
Some invited her to come
It was a nice thing to them.
A new sort of friends she won that way
And she learned
To prefer those
Who were happy when she was in the dark
Sending skies and flowers and colours
And flowers she liked to show or birds
Or strange animals moving slow
Yet intoxicating the waltz was a times
And it was her joy to do the sort.
She even did lightning on special days
Or touch the shoulder of some
Though completely invisible they perceived her well
And many felt her pain.
They felt her love
They loved her for it
Though it scared not a little
For it grew strong and at times, mighty as well
And some shrank from it as from a worm.
Strange arts they are
That thus conveyed
And nobody knew
And nobody cared
For she was an elder strange woman after all.
Deep down they trusted and loved her well
Yet in mortal life they shunned
What so deliciously they requested at need
Once had the show begun.
And all the canarys sing
:
Dip di dip di dip

The Fairy Princess Gladys
