I Held It
I held a shotgun to my head.
I held it as I wished I was dead.
I held it for an hour, maybe more.
I held it so long my arms got sore.
I held it loosely, I held it tight.
I held it for most of the night.
I held it looking forward to Hell.
I pulled the trigger.
Fuck I forgot the shell.
Night
As I near the end it all feels right.
My day has passed and now it's night.
I am so tired now, I just want to rest.
I suffered much, but I did my best.
I know it is over, I know that I'm done.
I know the game of life will not be won.
Let me go now, please set me free.
Life let go of the grip you have on me.
