The Wercats of Glasgow

The Werecats of Glasgow

What comes to one’s mind if one touches upon the subject of wereanimlas, which are intertwined with the theme of theiranthropy. A very riveting word by the way, because it derives from two ancient Greek words: “their” and "trophein". "Ther" is the Greek word for the animal, albeit a ferocious one and "trophein" is a verb, which signifies to change. So, this compound of words literally means to change in an animal. But actually, it is much more than that, because this story is about a hybrid, a species half human half cat, which has been subject to some literature especially in the literature of yore, which most nowadays, of course, will enjoy to neglect and dismiss as obsolete.

Well, I am of the opinion, that the ancient accounts and stories of such beings are not at all futile, because maybe the ones, who deride these things and like to put them in the realm of fairy tales, ought to think again, because what I am about to share with my audience, the readers of this story, is as true as any other story with some sort of credibility.

But it is clear, that the modern man, is a person of reason and logic and will always, or at least in most cases deny, that such things as a werecat can even exist because his logic tells him so. So, why should it not be the same as our reality? Is it not as well a complex construction of many multiple aspects, which we cannot grasp with our limited mind.

So, let me quote the famous Greek Philosopher, who said: “I know, that I know nothing.” And this implies, that every world view is fallible and we should rethink our reality, because it may be just a fragment of the greater reality,
