The Abyss
Prologue
Many things fall from the sky, but barely anything comes from deep, deep, below the Earth, this is the story of what happens when something does come from below the ground...
Prologue 2
Long, long ago, there was a story told of how, one day, many new lands would appear from the Earths Core, these stories said that something called The Abyss would rise from the Core and plague Mankind with all of its Chaos, but what the stories did not say was that a Warrior would be born just before this time so that he could battle the forces of Chaos, this Warrior would also be a highly adept Mage, he would have many things at his disposal that would increase his Warrior abilities and his Mage abilities, these were the ‘Weapons of Great Power’, this Warrior-Mage was born in the year 1997 and this is his story.

Chapter 1
Tesiris was born on the 29th day of the 1st month of the year 1997, he was a very gifted baby and could walk just after he was two weeks old, he could speak from birth and as a child he quickly grasped anything that people taught him, he was very able-minded aswell as being very able-bodied, but, his mother and father died shortly after his sixth birthday and he was sent to live with his great-grandma, she was very old and Tesiris thought she was going to be very grump aswell, but when his uncle had gone after dropping him off, he found that she was actually quite alot of fun, she had a vast library filled with books, and she had a very large garden, her house wasn’t a normal house either, it was a large castle-like mansion on the top of a great hill and right next to an immense lake, Tesiris knew that he was going to be happy here.
Tesiris soon learned that he wasn’t allowed in certain parts of the library, these parts of the library were either under lock and key or they were a little away from the other shelves with a different kind of smell in the air, Tesiris asked his grandmother what her name was, she replied by saying ‘I have many names, but the three you may call me by are Grandma, Grandmother, or Ima’ Tesiris called his Grandma ‘Ima’ from then onwards.
Tesiris learnt many things from Ima, such as how to ride a horse, how to write, how to speak many different languages, how to mix certain plants, flowers and herbs to make certain things, he also learnt how to use a crossbow and a bow, Ima taught Tesiris all these things before he was even eight years old, by the time he was nine he knew alot more than people would expect a nine year old to know, he didn’t speak like a nine year old, he didn’t walk like a nine year old, and last but not least, he didn’t look like a nine year old.
Chapter 2
Tesiris had just turned eleven when a man came to Ima’s house, he was the first person Tesiris had saw for five years apart from Ima, he was a short man, with a very large stomach, he more waddled than walked, `when he saw Ima and Tesiris he ‘waddled’ towards them, he was only a few steps away when he said ‘Ima, owner of this house, we of the Education Authority hear that you have had a child in your care for the past five years who has not had proper schooling, we know you are a very educated women, but it is the Law’s belief that every child must receive schooling from sources we know are safe and true, and that they do not receive bad schooling, we are not saying that you will not give him proper schooling in your right, but he must go to a school that the Law has deemed fit to give schooling to children.’ Tesiris thought this man was very long-winded for someone so fat, but he didn’t say this, Ima then spoke to the man ‘I knew this day would come, but it must not be a school far away from here, after his mother and father died, then his uncle and then his other Grandma, I am his last remaining family member and he must stay close to me’
‘We understand your concern for Tesiris, but the school we are sending him to is a very good school, you could even call it the best school in the country, and it is only fifteen minutes away by walking, so he will still be able to sleep here at night, and he will still be able to eat here after school and all sorts of other things you may be concerned about’
‘Very well then, I will let Tesiris go to school, but he will only go five days a week and not the usual of six’
‘Very well madam, he will start this Monday coming up, so you have two days to buy all his necessary equipment and stationery, here is a list of what he needs’ and the man left without a backwards glance, never to return.
Tesiris started school for the first time just a few days after his eleventh birthday, it was a brand new experience for him and at first he was a little confused, but he quickly grasped everything threw at him, well, almost everything, the only thing he could not quite grasp was Drawing, he thought that it was a very tedious task and because of how quick he progressed he was allowed to choose his lessons after just a short time at The School of Abyss, he chose Archery, Arithmetic, English, Swordsmanship, Horse-riding and many other subjects except Drawing and Languages, he excelled in all of these subjects and soon he had graduated from the school, this was all in just under a year for it was coming close to Tesiris’ twelfth birthday.
The day of Tesiris’ twelfth birthday came and Ima gave him many gifts, many people came to his party, people he knew, and people he didn’t know, they all gave him many gifts, books, toys for people his age, simple things from those that didn’t know him and complex things from those that did know him, but Tesiris’ greatest gift that night was a story, spoken from the mouth of Ima, ‘Long, long ago, many things happened changed in our world, our world was once connected to another world by a bridge of sorts, this other land was called The Abyss, it is said that The Abyss sunk into the Core of the Earth and that one day it will rise back up from the Core and wreak its havoc on the human-race, it is also said that a Warrior-Mage will rise into his power just as The Abyss rises so that he may fight its Chaos and send it back into the Core, this story has been passed from generation to generation in my family and it is said that the Warrior-Mage will be of my family.’ Many people cheered and clapped but a few stayed completely silent, Tesiris’ knew that that type of silence was not the type of silence when people are shocked or awed, but the silence of knowing, the silence when somebody knows something but does not truly believe it, but then when it is said by somebody else they believe it, and they truly know it, Tesiris wanted to know the truth behind this story, so for the first time in the six years he had lived with Ima, he went into one of the forbidden sections of the library.
Chapter 3
Tesiris creeped very slowly away from the party and as soon as he was out of earshot and sight, he bolted for the library, he was there in a matter of moments and he was soon into the first forbidden section he saw, he knew he only had a limited time before Ima knew he had gone so he quickly scanned the book-covers for any word or phrase he thought would help him, the first book he found was called ‘And the Death of An Abyssal’, Tesiris grabbed it and took it up to his rooms and hid it, just for good measure he splashed water on his face so he could use that as an excuse.
When Tesiris finally got back to the party Ima hadn’t even noticed he was gone, but several other people did and they told Ima this, she confronted him and he told her that he had gone to wash his face for he felt very hot and faint, she then said to him ‘Tesiris, I know that you are coming to an age where you want the answers to alot of things, but doing the most obvious thing is not always the right path and doesn’t always lead to the right answer’ to which Tesiris replied ‘I know this Grandmother Ima, but sometimes the most obvious path can lead onto the right path in one way or another, sooner or later’
‘I know that also Tesiris, but be wary of the foes beyond the Black Gates, and the Cave of Mirrors and the Hall of Diamonds, do not tarry long in these places for they will bring you great sorrow, heed my words well Tesiris’ and Tesiris’ Great Grandmother Ima died of old age on Tesiris twelfth birthday.
Tesiris was extremely shocked by the death of his Grandma, six people rushed to him and carried him away in the direction of the library, while others rushed to the dead figure of Ima, most of them did not know her that well, but she was a figure of great power, and people were shocked by the death of such a great figure.
When Tesiris was finally put back onto the floor he found he was in front of the smallest but most majestic door in the library, he was spoken to by one of the 6 people, ‘We six are great friends of your Grandma and we know alot about her and you, you must open this door and let us enter into the room on the other side’ ‘I am but a boy and know nothing of the ways which to open this door, but I will try nonetheless’ so Tesiris walked towards the door, as he approached it he felt something tighten around his whole body, as he touched the door it opened and in a moment he knew what he had to do, he ran into the other room, shut the door behind him and bolted it shut, he heard a series of loud bangs from the other side and knew the six people were trying to get through with limited success, Tesiris turned around and was shocked to find what he saw, for a short time it made him forget about Ima’s death, for there in front of him was a library even larger than what was on the other side of the door.
Chapter 4
Tesiris walked all the way around the library until he found it, a book larger than most of the other books that contained the names of every single book in this section of the library, ‘Book of Contents’, he quickly scanned the titles until he found a book that was called ‘Passageways of The House of Dinduro’, The House of Dinduro was Ima’s house, Tesiris then went to the correct shelf and picked up the book, he then went to a small reading table near him and sat down, for about an hour Tesiris read and read and read until he had read the entire book, he then, having absorbed all the information from the book, went to a small alcove near the south end of the library and pushed in a little rock in the wall, a secret passage opened up from here and Tesiris walked through it, after about five minutes of walking Tesiris came to a bookcase in the wall, he found a particular book called ‘Message of The Wind’ and pushed it inwards, a small area around Tesiris rised above the floor and span around, Tesiris was now in his room.
He went straight to where he had hidden ‘And The Death of An Abyssal’, he then got many things from various places in his room, he put all these things into a backpack and then went back to the bookcase, he found ‘Message of The Wind’ once again but pulled it outwards this time, and what happened before happened again, Tesiris was back in the passage, he walked slower this time for he had a backpack on him so it took him ten minutes to get back to the library, when he had gone back through the other end he closed the passageway door and then went to a great table in the middle of the library that could be seen from any direction and put his backpack on this table, he then went to where ‘And The Death of An Abyssal’ fit into the bookshelf and put it there, all of a sudden a light bloomed in every aisle and the library was suddenly much bigger and much more spacious for Tesiris could see that it went on for many minutes up and down, he was awed by the sight of it and it reminded him of his Grandma, he went and sat down and cried and cried and cried, but when he stopped crying he knew that he would never cry like that for his Grandma again, he went back to his backpack and got out multiple items for reading over long periods of time, he started scanning the ‘Book of Contents’ once again and noticed that new books had appeared in it, this puzzled him greatly, he looked at the new books and found that when his eyes focused on the writing he could not discern there language, he found this very unsettling and looked for a book about languages, he found a book called ‘The Art of Languages’ and went and picked it up, he sat down on another small reading table and read the book, he went to where the book with the strange language should be and couldn’t find it, he then realised that he now knew how to read that particular language, he knew what the book was called now, ‘The Man May Choose How He Walks Along His Path, But He Cannot Choose The Precise Path He Walks On’, Tesiris, somehow, knew that the book contained nothing on the inside and as he opened it he saw nothing, he put the book back and walked away.

Chapter 5
Tesiris started to feel tired so he went to the large table and sat down, he then noticed strange carvings around the edge of the table, as his eyes focused on them he noticed that they were of the same language as the book that contained nothing, he read the carvings and it told him where to find a bed, food and drink all within the library, he decided that, even though he was tired, he would go and find them now, so he went to the north end of the library and pulled a small candle away from the wall, a platform around him took him to the next level of the library and then shot through a wall, in this room he found quite a few levers and he pulled nine of them down, the last one he pushed upwards and another platform around him took him back onto the first level of the library, he went to the centre table and there was a bed and quite alot of food, Tesiris ate and drank ‘till he could eat and drink no more, and then he went and lied in bed, he fell asleep as soon as his head touched the warm, soft pillow.
Tesiris woke up just after dawn the next day, he had some breakfast from the vast array of food before him and then went to the ‘Book of Contents’, he found the book he was looking for, it was called ‘The Pathways of The Great Library’, he then went and collected it from its shelf and took it to the centre table, this book was extremely large and it took Tesiris nearly four hours to read it, when he had read it he put it back in its place and then went to another book called ‘The Book of Doorways’, Tesiris read this book in just under an hour and then went searching for a doorway described in the book as ‘The Bottomless Pit’.
Tesiris found the doorway and went through it, what was on the other side looked as if it was a pit with no bottom, but Tesiris knew that if he went really close to the edge he would see a great, winding staircase that led to the bottom, he went down these stairs and after a very long and tiresome walk he was at the bottom, the things he saw before him were unbelievable, a vast treasure room filled with the worlds greatest books, but Tesiris knew that this was an illusion, he went over to a giant book that would have taken centuries to read and opened the door concealed within the illusion, he entered the room beyond and saw what he needed to see, another treasure room, just not as big or fabulous as the illusion room.
This treasure room had very few things in it but they were amazing things, three books and two weapons, the books were called ‘Basics of A Mage’ which listed most of the basic spells that had been discovered before the beginning of the twenty-first century, the next book was called ‘The Book of Spells’ and it listed all the spells, apart from the basics, that had been discovered by the beginning of the twenty-first century, the last book was a very short book called ‘The Map’ that was the map of a region Tesiris did not know about, it was a map of The Abyss, the two weapons were; a very exotic and elongated sword hilt and a buckler shield that was just as exotic, he grabbed the sword hilt and the buckler shield, he put the shield near his left arm and strong metal straps flew out and wrapped around his arm, he then put the sword hilt near to his waist and a sheath appeared there, he put the hilt through it the way it should have been.
He then went towards the books, three beasts appeared out of nowhere and attacked Tesiris, at first he was shocked, but then his training from school kicked in and he started defending from them with his shield, which had now become bigger, but he couldn’t keep them at bay just using this and they started to push him back, he recalled some stories about some swords being magical and being hidden in their hilts, so he drew the hilt out of the sheath and all of a sudden, at his desire, the actual blade came out of the hilt, he then killed all three beasts in a matter of moments and went to the books, as he approached them he noticed a small bag just behind them.
He picked this up first and the put the bag where it belonged, halfway down his chest with straps wrapped around most of his body, he noticed that the actual bag was very small and this puzzled him, so he opened it, on the inside he could see that it was much larger than it appeared, he picked up each of the three books and dropped them into the bag, as they fell into it he saw that instead of falling to the bottom they were suspended in mid-air within the bag, he then closed the bag and went to a trapdoor near the back of the room, he opened the trapdoor and dropped through the hole, he reappeared a few steps away from the centre table back in the library.
Chapter 6
Tesiris went straight to sleep once again that night, the next morning when he woke up he decided he was going to go through another one of the doorways that would lead him to items he might need, he went to the only other doorway on the first level of the library, it was a little to the south of the centre table, he looked for a book called ‘Archery’ and pushed it into the back of the bookshelf, just after he did this part of the bookcase slid backwards and to the left, Tesiris saw a small ladder and started to climb down it, after a few moments the bookcase slid back into its original place and Tesiris was plunged into darkness.
He continued his descent for almost an hour, when he reached the bottom he waited, and waited, and waited, after many minutes a strange light came from deep within massive cave complex, Tesiris noticed that an entire civilisation could have lived here in the past, there were thousands of structures made from the very rock itself that could have been classed as homes and other such things, but Tesiris knew that nothing lived here now, for the chapter in ‘The Book of Doorways’ that told Tesiris about this place said that it was once home to a great civilisation that were very basic in their homes and other such things, but they were once the smartest civilisation in the world, but a great beast had destroyed almost all of them, the ones that remained helped build The Great Library, which was a place of myth and legend, Tesiris walked through the streets of this abandoned city until he found what he was looking for, a great church-like building, he entered it and walked to a door, he opened the door and went through to the other room, he was now in, what must have been, the tomb of a once very great king.
Tesiris went up to the tomb of the king and laid his hands on hand-size slots on the side of the tomb, he twisted his hands round ninety-degrees and the tomb slowly opened, Tesiris reached in and pushed a tiny button on the inside, the tomb then slowly moved away from where it was to reveal some very steep steps, there was a very faint light at the far end of the steps, Tesiris, before he went through the bookcase, had decided to bring some valuable things with him, he had the chest-bag he had obtained in the treasure room, he had put the sword-hilt and the shield into this bag, he took them both out and placed them where they should have been, the shield on his left arm and the sword-hilt on the left side of his waist, he then took out the ‘Basics of A Mage’ book and, after flipping through the book for a few moments, used a Spell that made a small light near his body, the light could float to different parts of his body by Tesiris wanting it to be in that specific spot, Tesiris then started the long descent to the bottom of the steps.
When Tesiris finally reached the bottom of the steps he saw that the light came from behind a great wooden door, he went up to the door and looked closely at it, after a few moments carvings appeared in the wood, Tesiris studied these for many minutes until he thought he knew what they were stating he must do, he walked in a straight line in front of the door three times and then the door opened, Tesiris walked through the door and stopped as soon as he was on the other side, for before him was the biggest thing he had ever saw.
Tesiris looked at the Dragon and knew that this was the beast that had destroyed the civilisation that was above his head, Tesiris looked around and saw a book far above him that glowed with a strange light, Tesiris knew that if he made too much noise or moved too quick the Dragon would wake, so he moved excruciatingly slowly until he was near somewhere he could start to climb up, he used the sword-hilt and buckler-shield just as much as his own body, when he was close enough to the book that all he had to do was jump, he stopped and made his magic light disappear, he then used another Spell from ‘Basic of A Mage’ and lifted himself off the floor, he then walked forward in mid-air and then slowly lowered himself down, Tesiris walked towards the pedestal the book was on but was stopped by a strange force.
Tesiris turned away from the book and saw a door built into the side of the wall, he approached it and opened it, on the other side was another book, Tesiris read this book and then went back through the door to the first book, he approached this book again and when the strange force stopped him once more he made a loud popping sound, this sound was absorbed by the book and it stopped the strange force, Tesiris walked towards the book and started reading it, the book was called ‘The Dragon’ and it told of the great battle between the great civilisation and the Dragon, it ended with the Dragon being imprisoned deep down here and put into a strange sleep, Tesiris knew that he must kill the Dragon for the book clearly said that the Spell that kept the Dragon sleeping was losing its power and because of how complex the spell was it could not be replicated by a Mage with only Basic power, Tesiris decided to wake the Dragon.
The Dragon proved very difficult to wake, Tesiris tried everything he could think of, from shouting his loudest right in the Dragons ears to throwing large and heavy things, with magic, at its head, but none of it woke the Dragon, so Tesiris wandered the cave for many hours, Tesiris eventually noticed something very strange, when the Dragon exhaled its body lifted off the ground and revealed a trapdoor beneath it, Tesiris went to where he could be closest to the trapdoor and waited, he prepared a Spell so that when he went towards the trapdoor he could throw it at the trapdoor and it would open, when the Dragon exhaled Tesiris sprinted towards it and threw the spell, the trapdoor opened and the Dragon woke, Tesiris jumped through the trapdoor and very quickly hit the floor, he dodged out of the way of the trapdoor just as the Dragon breathed fire down it, Tesiris ran towards the only point of light in the darkness underneath the trapdoor, it turned out to be a door, Tesiris opened it and went through.
What was on the other side was a great hall, Tesiris gazed around him, the hall was filled with various items, from coins to crowns, swords to maces, daggers to bows, there were a few items around the room that had a golden light shining on them, they were a bow and a quiver filled with arrows, an arm-crossbow and a pouch-like object filled with crossbow bolts, and last but not least, a large stone.
Tesiris walked towards the arm-crossbow and fitted it onto his right arm, he then placed the pouch around his waist, he then went to the bow, he put the bow into the quiver, fully stringed and ready, and then put the quiver over his shoulders and onto his back, he put a bolt into the arm-crossbow and then got the bow out of the quiver, he grabbed an arrow and fitted it to the bow, he walked towards the stone and then picked it up, Tesiris felt various magical energies coming from it, the stone felt like a stone but was hollow, Tesiris then realized it was an egg.
Tesiris studied the egg very closely, the egg was extremely hard but it was hollow, it had thin white lines running all the way through it and it was a dark purple colour not the black colour that it had appeared from far away, Tesiris could feel magical energy within it but he knew that until he had more magical prowess he would not be able to feel its full extent, so he sat down on a pile of gold, got out ‘Basics of A Mage’ and trained himself in the Basics, within a few hours he had completely mastered the Basics of Spellcasting, he then got out the ‘Book of Spells’ and after, what seemed like a few hours but was actually a few days, Tesiris had mastered the arts of Magic that were showed in these two books.
Tesiris could now feel the full extent of the magical energy within the egg, by studying the egg Tesiris realised it was a Dragon’s egg, Tesiris then studied the spells guarding it and realised that it could only hatch when the right person had obtained it, Tesiris couldn’t see who the right person was.
Tesiris put the egg into his chest-bag and then went back to the door that lead into the darkness under the trapdoor, Tesiris saw the trapdoor all the way from the door, he slowly went towards it and he noticed that the trapdoor door was gone, the Dragon was now sleeping with its head right next to the hole, which it had made bigger, Tesiris knew he would have to use magic to get past the Dragon.
Tesiris studied the Dragon for many hours and noticed that it wasn’t actually asleep, it was pretending to be asleep so that it could catch Tesiris unawares, he prepared many Spells in his mind and then ran towards the trapdoor, he cast all the Spells he had prepared and he almost flew past the Dragon, with great speed, and the Dragon noticed, but not until a few moments after, because Tesiris had distorted light, Tesiris landed just next to the book pedestal that had held the book with the story of the Dragon in it, Tesiris picked up the book and decided to take it to the library, the Dragon finally reared up and tried attacking Tesiris, but Tesiris was ready for it and he jumped as the Dragons head smashed into the very spot he had been stood on, Tesiris saw his chance and threw himself back down, as he did so he drew the sword-hilt and made the blade come out of it, he then drove the sword straight into the Dragons head, with its dying breath the Dragon sent its true history into Tesiris’ mind, Tesiris then used magic and changed the book he had picked up a few moments before, it now said the true story of the Dragon and the Lost Civilization, Tesiris used another Spell and teleported back to the library, when Tesiris got back he felt very tired and hungry, he ate all he could and then went straight to sleep.
Chapter 7
Tesiris didn’t wake for many days, but when he did he knew new things that had been put into his head by the Dragon’s will, he knew the names of all his obtained items, the sword-hilt was called Leto, the buckler-shield was called Vahan, the chest-bag was called Virva, the crossbow was called Erda and the bow was called Jabbar, he also knew some things about each one (but they are explained in a much smaller book called Weapons of Great Power), Tesiris also knew that the library he was in was actually called the Great Library and it had stood for millions of years, long before mankind, but he did not know what had once been here before mankind, he decided that if he needed to know it then it would appear to him sooner or later, Tesiris then went to the highest point in the Great Library by a series of lifts and pulleys and he trained all of his magical and non-magical skills for many days in a room called ‘The Trainer’, when Tesiris left this room he had achieved many new heights of his power, he could now do many things that he once thought would have been impossible, Tesiris knew that if he had to fight something like a Dragon then he wouldn’t be afraid of fighting it, Tesiris then began a steady descent to the first floor of the Great Library, he knew that none of the other floors contained any books he could read, so he was going to stay on the first floor unless he needed to go to the other floors, Tesiris relaxed and had a very happy life, until he turned thirteen.
Chapter 8
Tesiris didn’t know it was his thirteenth birthday until a voice out of the shadows said “Tesiris Dinduro, on this day you have turned thirteen, the Chaos rises, the Abyss comes forth, and the legends will not be true, you will die”
“What are these legends you speak of, and I will not die just because you say I will, I am alot stronger than I look”
“You must know of the legends, you are Tesiris Dinduro and you are the Warrior-Mage the legends speak of, are you not Tesiris Dinduro?“
“Yes I am Tesiris Dinduro, what is it to you? And if you value your life, then reveal yourself”
“You are a pawn of Fate, and I don’t value my life so your threat is meaningless”
“Beasts that do not value there lives are very dangerous beasts indeed, I am not going to fight you, yet, but mark my words, one day, I will find out what you are and I will destroy you” and with that Tesiris vanished.
Tesiris had vanished to his childhood home, high in the Himalayan mountain ranges, his home spread over nearly a kilometre and it was filled with various things that could be used by anyone if they accidently fell into the house while they were hiking, Tesiris took lots of food from the house and put it into Virva, he then walked to a door that had always intrigued him as a child, he opened the door and walked through it, what he found on the other side was very erratic, Tesiris saw various rooms change before him, but one thing stayed the same in the room, a very long but thick stick with, what looked like a wing, on the end of it, on closer inspection it was actually two Dragon wings that were magically put onto the stick, Tesiris grabbed the stick and then left the room, he went to one of the exits onto the Himalayan mountains and used the sticks magic, he flew high above the ground and when he was about a mile above his home he cast a Spell that made his house melt back into the mountains.
Tesiris knew that the stick was called Haruto and that it gave the wielder the ability to fly, he also knew that if a Dragon was flightless than the Dragon-stick could give the Dragon the ability to fly by destroying the stick part of itself and giving its wings to that particular Dragon, Tesiris then remembered the egg he had found, what seemed like, all that time ago, he didn’t want to get the egg out in the clouds in case he dropped it, so he flew down to the ground and there he got the egg out of Virva, but it was no longer an egg, it was a baby-sized Dragon, Tesiris used magic to feel its energy signals, after few moments he knew that the Dragon was now his Dragon, he also knew that it couldn’t fly, as soon as he knew this the Dragon-stick did what it was supposed 2 do and gave the Dragon its flying powers back, Tesiris then used alot of his Mage strength and healed the Dragon so that it would be normal again, not very weak and timid.
Tesiris made him and the Dragon a small home within the trees, Tesiris had used magic to make this home actually from the trees, so that even from a few steps away the house would look like trees, the house was small at first but over the first few days Tesiris made it larger and larger.
Tesiris and the Dragon became very good hunters by learning things from the way they both moved, the Dragon learnt to run on two legs instead of all fours, where-as Tesiris learnt to run on all fours, the Dragon gradually learnt itself how to fly, with Tesiris’ help.
Tesiris helped the Dragon learn how to fly by taking it so far above the ground and then dropping it, hoping its instincts would kick in, every time this attempt failed and the Dragon didn’t start to fly, Tesiris would grab it with magic and then try again, eventually the Dragon leant how to glide over small distances, then it learnt how to launch itself into the air, and then it learnt how to glide over quite long distances, after six weeks and alot of practice, the Dragon could fly.
Tesiris made a very large home for himself and the Dragon; it was made from the trees themselves and within the trees themselves, one day when Tesiris was sat on his own, because the Dragon had gone hunting on his own, he got out all of his weapons, Leto; the sword-hilt, Vahan; the buckler shield, Erda; the arm-crossbow, and Jabbar; the bow, he Jabbar into its quiver and slung it across his back, he put Erda on his right arm and hung the bolt pouch on his waist, he put Vahan near his left arm and its metal straps shot out and stuck it firmly in place, and lastly, he put Leto near his left hip and the sheath appeared, Tesiris put Leto into the sheath, he then sent a mental shout to the Dragon, telling it to come back, when the Dragon returned Tesiris had made two saddles for it, one that was very tough and stiff on the Dragon’s back, and another that wouldn’t be as stiff but was equally as tough, Tesiris put the latter saddle on the Dragon and then mounted it, the Dragon had grown a considerable amount since Tesiris helped learn it to fly, when they were extremely high above the ground Tesiris spoke to the Dragon in its mind “these past few weeks I have saw that you are not the terrible beast that most cultures and stories say you are, but you are actually just a passionate being, I am sorry for considering you as an ‘it’, what exactly are you?”
“I am a Dragon, a mighty female Dragon, and you are my Rider, for the past few weeks we have only been hatch-mates, for my egg was born at the same time as you was born, but since the moment you got atop my back you have been my Rider, now you have become my Rider we can speak to each other in our minds, and my magical essence will increase your magic and your physical strength tenfold, you will be alot stronger than normal humans and you will become more like an elf, I will take you back to part of the Great Library that has not been over-ridden by the Chaos and you can read a book that will explain everything to you” and the Dragon flew three hundred miles to the Great Library.
Chapter 9
The Great Library was hidden in many ways, parts of it were in the House of Dinduro, parts of it were hidden by what appeared to be a lake, and other parts were hidden by magic, Tesiris could now see all this and he was amazed, the size of the Great Library was even larger than Tesiris had thought when he was in the inside, it appeared to stop here and there, but if you looked a little further above it would carry on and on and on, Tesiris knew that the top of the Library would be too far up for the Dragon to fly, so he talked to it, they always spoke to each other in there minds, and told it to take him where it wanted to, so the Dragon flew straight at part of the wall of the Great Library, Tesiris was just about to stop them both with magic when the wall disappeared and they were back in the Library.
The Dragon took Tesiris straight to one of the floors of the Great Library that had fewer books in then some of the other floors, but these books were very large books, the Dragon took Tesiris to the largest book of them all and told him to read it, so Tesiris got off the Dragon and read the book.
The book explained how, millennia ago, there had been another land on the Earth’s surface, but it was an evil land and constantly attacked the rest of the world, all the good races combined there strength after thousands of years of rule by this land and over-threw them, and with there strength they sent the land into the Core of the Earth, but because of the evilness of this land they survived there, and they rose again, but a direct descendant of the people that had banished them the first time banished them again, this Warrior-Mage knew that the threat would return so he made a pact with every race of the world to make sure that the next time the Chaos returned and the Warrior-Mage was born again then he would stand a better chance against them, the races agreed to this and they all mixed there blood, making a new type of being, a Dinduro, this being was very powerful and it highly resembled a human, but they would be the only race that could control almost anything and they would be able to do almost anything, the next Warrior-Mage would have to be born of this race and he would also have many great assets to help him, the races decided that he would have great weapons to aid his Warrior abilities, great Spells to aid his Mage abilities, great armour to aid both and also a great Dragon to aid him, he would be able to unite the races under his banner and also scatter the Chaos, the Chaos lands name was The Abyss and the day it would truly rise from the Core would be the day that the Warrior-Mage turned the age of sixteen, the races then made it so that the Warrior-Mage and his Dragon would be hatch-mates and Rider and Dragon, increasing there bond, and that all of his weapons would be his and only his, when Tesiris had read the book he understood, he was the Warrior-Mage and he must fight the Chaos, he would have a few pieces of help but they would be very powerful pieces of help, he knew that the Dragon had a name and he asked her what it was, she said her name was ‘Chanda’ and that her name meant fierce and passionate, she also said that they must leave the Great Library soon and activate his magical defences so that the Chaos couldn’t gain full dominion over it or they would be able to control the whole world.
Tesiris and Chanda started walking, very quickly, towards a door at the far end of this floor of the Library, when they were attacked by beasts that were about double the size of Tesiris, they killed them quickly and efficiently, they then ran to the door, when they got to it, it magically made itself big enough so that Chanda could get through it, she was about three times bigger than Tesiris in height, and about three or for times bigger than him in width, so she was quite large for our standards but quite small in Dragon standards, when they were both on the other side the door vanished, there was a very large statue of a might Warrior with his back to them in this room, Tesiris looked very closely at the statue and noticed that it looked alot like him, he then realised that it was the last Warrior-Mage before him and he went up to the statue and kissed the base of it, he then went to a slight hand-shaped indentation he had noticed and put his hand into it, on the other side of the base Chanda put one of her claws into an indentation of a claw, she then put her tail-spike into a very large indentation and then the statue started walking, it walked straight into the wall and vanished, they could hear very loud bangs coming from the walls and they realised that the statue was part of the defences of the Great Library and that he had just activated the rest of the defences, Tesiris and Chanda vanished from the Library.
Chapter 10
They reappeared in England, Tesiris knew that he must find all of the Old Races and unite them once again, there were numerous Old Races, both small and large, but they were all strong, no matter how few of them there was, Tesiris decided he must go to the most loyal of the Old Races first, the Centaur, the Amorak and the Elf, he decided to go to the Centaur before the rest, so he gathered his power around him and Chanda and teleported them to, what once was, the most magical forest in England.
When Tesiris and Chanda reappeared they were in the deepest and darkest part of Sherwood Forest, once there Tesiris scanned the area with his mind and found small pockets of life that could have been the Elf’s, or large forest-dwelling animals, Tesiris then realised that he could take images from the forest if he just listened to its essence breathing, so Tesiris held his breath and let his mind fall free of his body, he instantly barricaded himself into his mind and body for he was instantly attacked by the Elf’s, both physically and mentally , because of there great numbers they subdued Tesiris extremely fast.
When Tesiris awoke he couldn’t feel his magic, he felt as if he was empty and as if his mind had completely gone, he waited for hours and eventually his mind started to feel full again, and his magic slowly returned, after a few more hours he had his powers completely back, when he reached to where his weapons should be two of them were gone, Leto and Jabbar, Vahan, Virva and Erda had not gone for, as long as they were on Tesiris’ body, they would change, Vahan split into several plank shaped fragments and then slid into the straps that kept it in place, Virva became extremely small and almost invisible and Erda became insubstantial and invisible, Tesiris made them come back into their places and he opened Virva to get some food, he took out all that he though he would be able to stomach and he cooked it slowly with magic so as not to alert the Elf’s by using to much magic at once, after he had ate he stood up and went up to the only exit of his small cell, the cell had a small hole in it and Tesiris peered through it.
He was in a long corridor full with doors, at the other end of the corridor there was another, larger, door guarded by two Elven guards, one wielded an axe and the other wielded a great curved scimitar, they were both clearly too much for Tesiris to take on in hand-to-hand but he could easily take them on from far away, using Erda and his magical abilities, Tesiris decided on his plan of action.
He used a small Spell to unlock his cell door and then pulled it open and ducked away from the opening he had made, while he had a small amount of cover he loaded Erda and whipped Vahan into a place infront of his shoulders and slightly away from them, he then jumped out of cover, quickly flicked Vahan down and then shot the guard with the axe straight through his neck, the guard died instantly, Tesiris then backed quickly away from the doorway; quickly putting Vahan back into where it was when he had popped out of his original cover and then back himself against the far wall of his cell, when the scimitar-warrior got to within a few feet of Tesiris, just a little past his door, Tesiris shot him, the bolt went straight into his temple but the guard carried on going, Tesiris quickly used magic and sent a Fireball straight at the dying
