1. The bank robber

Darren prepared to rob the bank. He'd planned for weeks.

A single guard slumped in the lobby. Beyond were tellers and waiting stacks of cash.

After making sure his gun was tucked under his belt, he rushed into the lobby, stomped up to the surprised bank guard, and whipped out the gun yelling, “This is a stick up! Everyone on the floor! Bring the money now!”

The guard grabbed for his gun, so Darren fired.

Nothing happened.

“If you’re gonna rob a bank,” the guard said laughing at seven-year old Darren, “you gotta make sure to load your squirt gun!”

2. The embezzler

Madelyn obsessed over the sable . It went for $10,000 and was worth twice that.

Head accountant for Interstate Sales, Madelyn kept the books and managed the bank accounts. It was easy to establish a new account and divert ten cents from each transaction to it. In six months she'd have her sable.

Five months later found Madelyn in her office daydreaming about the coat when the CEO called her into his office.

Had he found out? She’d be ruined!

“Congratulations, Madelyn. You’ve been named company employee of the decade and will be awarded $10,000!” he told the speechless woman.

3. The Heist

Benny detonated the dynamite as the armored car drove over it. The heavy vehicle crashed noisily onto its side.

“Hurry!” Frankie urged. Blow the back door. We ain’t got all day.” Benny blew it.

Like the driver, the two guards inside were unconscious. Inside the vehicle canvas bags of checks, currency and coins lay strewn about.

“Just load up the van with the big Treasury bags, Benny.”

“Right, Boss,” Benny replied. “Jeez, there must be five million bucks here.”

The thieves finished loading their van and sped away unaware that the money was counterfeit and had been earmarked for incineration.
