Chapter 1

I stood in front of my mirror with my blonde hair down. I was wearing a green dress and black shoes. Today was " Choosing Day." I didn't want to be picked. Suddenly I heard a creak. I turned around seeing my older brother, Daniel. " You look beautiful," Daniel said, smiling. " I don't want to get picked," I whined. " Selena...you are beautiful. Who wouldn't fall in love with you?" Daniel asked. " I don't believe in love. Love is stupid," Selena growled. Daniel rolled his eyes. " It's probaly not gonna be you anyways," Daniel muttered. Usually, Selena nevered cried. She was as hard as stone. But when the " Choosing Day" came, she was a wimp. A tear began to roll down her cheek. " Come here Selena," Daniel said, opening his arms. Selena rushed into his arms. " What if I die because I didn't find my match? What if all the boys are ugly?" Selena asked. Daniel laughed. " There will probaly be one hot boy and you'll steal his heart," Daniel said calmly. " Now come down stairs for breakfast."

" You look pretty, Jennifer," Selena told her younger sister. " Thanks...you and Daniel look good too," Jennifer said in a giggly voice. " Guys, if you get chosen make sure to make friends so they can help you," Daniel said. " Guys! Are you guys hungry or what?" thier mom said.

Everyone stood in a group waiting for " Choosing Day" to begin. Then a young man stepped on to the stage. " Good afternoon! Today we will pick one girl and boy to go to Territory 6 to find their true love. Now, time to pick the boys," the man said as he dug his hand into a box full of papers with all the boys names on it. " Josh Ferlit," the man called out. A fat boy walked up to the stage. " Now for the girls," the man said, digging his hand into another box. I held my breath as I held on to my sister's hand tightly. " Selena Evergreen," the man called out. I let out a tiny squeak. Had he just called my name?

" Selena Evergreen, please come to the stage. I let go of my sister's hand and began walking to the stage slowly. " Well these are our love finders of Territory 3 this year!! Examine them for a few minutes before they head towards Territory 6!" the man said. Soon they were off on a train towards Territory 6.

On the train Selena sat down next to Josh on the couch. " Did anybody tell you, 'You are beautiful?'" Josh asked. Selena looked at Josh with a disgusted look. " Yes," Selena said. Josh just smiled. After a few hours they were in Territory 6. Selena got off the train with Josh. There were so many other kids. Selena's eyes instantly fell on a really hot, cute, and muscular boy. His dirty blonde hair was perfect and his blue eyes were intense. Could he be my match? Could he be my match? I have to know him first

Selena thought. She went over to him to make her noticable. The boy noticed her and walked over towards her. " Hey, what's your name?" the boy asked. " Selena Evergreen, yours?" The boy flashed a smile. " I'm Jake," he said. " What territory are you from?" Selena asked. " Two.. how about you?" Jake asked.
" Three," Selena answered. " You wanna hang out?" Jake asked. " Sure," Selena said, giggling.
Maybe this was her match.

After talking to Jake, Selena was led by a guard to a room. When Selena walked in, she gasped. The room was huge! You could like have a race in there. " 12:10 will be the time we start lunch. Hall 12," the guard replied, as he left the room. Selena sat on her bed, rethinking what Jake said. " I rather just die than be forced to find love. If I had my free will to pick whoever I want then I be happy." Those were Jake's exact words. She had told him that she thought girl- boy love was stupid but family love was ok. Should I just die with Jake?

Selena thought. No. I must find love. Yuck!

Soon it was time for lunch. Selena took off her dress and looked in her huge closet. She chose skinny jeans and a long skinny shirt. She put her hair in place before going to the lunch room. When she opened the doors, she was hoping to see Jake so she could sit next to him. Luckily, shefound him. She went up to him and sat down beside him. " Hey, how are you doing?" Selena asked. " Oh, hey Selena! Fine... have you found anybody yet?" Jake asked. Selena shook her head. No. " Niether have I," Jake said, grabbing a sandwhich. Selena grabbed one too. " Are you stil gonna die?" Selena asked. " Maybe... I don't want to give my family grief though," Jake said. Selena nodded understandingly. After lunch, ther were games set up, for everyone to play. Selena thought this was the perfect time to make a friend, like Daniel said. She went up to a girl. She had flowing brown hair and gray eyes. " Hi," Selena said quietly. The girl looked up at her and smiled. " Hi. I'm Gabby," she said. " I'm Selena." Gabby stared at Selena for a moment. " How old are you?" Gabby asked. " Fourteen. How about you?" Selena asked. " Ten." Selena stared at Gabby with shock. She was onlt ten years old and she was forced to find love. Most of the boys were older than ten. " You wanna be friends?" Selena asked. Gabby nodded eagerly. " Ok then, come meet my other friend," Selena said, leading Gabby towards Jake.

Chapter 2

Selena changed into her pajamas and went to bed still shocked about Gabby. She was a cute and talented peson. Yet she was only ten years old and she was forced to get married after she found love. A ten year old getting married. Not the best idea. But thats not what Territory 6 thought. Stupid people of Territory 6

Selena thought. At least they gave enough food to every territory and everybody lived well. But Territory 6 thought there was issues with marrige. All the divorcing, fighting, jelousy over boys and all that stuff. Selena sat there letting the memories of her life soak in.

Selena came home that night from a long day of school. She was eager to see her family. As she opened the door, Jennifer screamed out her name. Since Jennifer was younger, she got out of school earlier. Daniel was older, he got out of school later. " How was school Selena?" her mom, Victoria asked. " Fine... got homework talked with friends... usual day," Selena said bordly. " Well hurry up and do it!" Victoria said, jokingly. " Selena! Play princess with me!" Jennifer squealed. " Sorry Jen. Got homework," Selena mumbled. " Oh... ok."

Selena snapped out of her daze and yawned. She was really tired. She pulled the covers, closed the lights, and fell asleep.
