My face is a smile, a blatant lie.
I'm not who you think I should be.

I don't share your high expectations.
I don't elude ungodly temptations.
I'll never be who you want me to be.

I'm not great, I'm not even bad.
I feign sanity, but I'm raving mad.
I don't hold myself in the highest esteem.
Thoughts so morbid that nightmares are sweet dreams.

You don't know me,
my soul is lost at sea.
