"Blood is thicker then water, if that is so what is thicker then hatred?"

Two men were carrying, a rare crown in the wagon two horses were pulling the wagon, one of the men said, "Can't believe we got in, and stole the crown from the tomb."
"Yeah, this crown being sold on the black market. We will make millions!" The other man said, as he looked back at the wrapped up package. Then the horses stopped and reared up, something let out a low growl and slashed the tires off of the wagon. Then the two men were taken from the wagon, and hung by their guts from a tree. As if their guts were ropes. The creature growled, and ran off into the fog, which consumed the wagon.

"There was another attack last night, near passageway 56." A boy said, sticking a safety pin in the spot where it happened.
"Give me more details." Lysander said, as he looked at the map.
Lysander was sixteen, he had short light brown hair, he always kept it up with barely a spike in the front, his eyes were a gentle silver, he had on a short sleeve dark green shirt, with dark blue jeans, he had on blue sneakers.
"It must been around, midnight. They were found hanging from trees, by their guts. They appeared to be robbers, they stole your mothers crown." A boy said, sighing looking at his friend.
"My...mother's crown?" Lysander asked, looking at him his eyes widening.
His friend nodded, his friend had dark tone, his hair was a dark brown, his left eye was green, his right eye was blue. He wore a dark blue shirt, and dark blue jeans as well. He looked about fifteen.
"Yeah, they were trying to steal it, so they could make money." The friend sighed.
Lysander exhaled and looked down for a second then back up, "Why didn't the guards do anything?"
"I'm not sure, maybe Maso---" The friend started, before Lysander cut him off.
As Lysander made his way towards the exit, he stopped and turned towards his friend, "Mason, is the last person I am going to trust."

The empire was divided into three parts, the low class, middle class, and then there was the castle. The high class. It was like a regular society, expect for a few changes. Where Lysander would meet up with his friend, was in the low class. As he passed through, no one would make eye contact with him. In the center of the slum, there were stocks. No one was in them today, but Lysander wondered how long it would be until another body. "Lysander!"
He turned around, there was his friend from earlier, who was patting trying to catch his breath.
"What's wrong?" Lysander asked.
"A guard is harassing a family, who couldn't pay their taxes." The friend said, pointing down the road.
Lysander exhaled then went into a old shed, that didn't look appealing.
The friend, stayed outside and watched the door.
"What are you going to do?"
Lysander was silent then said, "You know the answer to that."
Then Lysander took the back way out, and jumped onto the roof, and ran across the roof tops, as if they were nothing but stepping stones.
He wore a silver Volto Luna Mac mask, it covered most of the face expect for most of the left side of the face, it went around the left eye, the mask also went behind his head, the mask went on top of his head and touched the front of the mask, a black muscle shirt, with black pants as well, he had long silver twin blades, being carried on his back, and he put one blue contact in his left eye, and a gentle white color in the right side.
Lysander arrived at the store, where the taxer collected was destroying everything inside. Lysander watched from the roof across the street, he threw a smoke grenade through the window. Then he jumped over to the store, and jumped through a window, and grabbed the guard then threw him on the ground, and Lysander pulled the twin blades out. He stabbed both the swords down on the guy, so the guard was stuck. "Mommy, its Zero!"
The family watched from a distance, as their savior took care of the guard. After the guard was killed, Lysander looked at the family, then walked over to them. And pulled a some sack of coins, and he gave it to the father, "Please accept this, when they come back to collect taxes again. Give it to them."
"No Zero, we can't take this." The father said, sighing handing it back over.
Lysander looked at them, "Its nothing to me, you need it more then I do."
"You sure?" The mother asked, coughing.
Lysander nodded then said, "Keep it."
"Thank you." The father said.
After that, Lysander jumped out the back window and raced back to the shed, where his friend was still waiting.
"Back yet?"
"Yeah, sorry." Lysander sighed, changing in the shed.
Then once he was done, Lysander stepped out and kept walking with his friend, "Does you know who, know about...your alter ego?"
"No, he doesn't need to know its me. They know there is someone who goes, by the name of Zero. They don't know who it is." Lysander said, sighing.
"Well I'm off, say hi to Sami for me."
Lysander watched his friend walk away, he sighed and walked to the castle. Where his father, half brother, and his younger sister all lived.

"Who's that?" A girl asked, looking towards the doors.
The maid looked up, Lysander walked inside and saw his little sister who had long wavy light blonde hair, she had pale skin, she was skin and bones, she had on a blue night gown, she looked ten or eleven years old and, her eyes were misty.
Sami smiled and got up from the sofa, and ran towards Lysander and hugged him.
"Did you enjoy your walk?" The maid asked.
Lysander held his sister in his arms, "Yeah..."
The maid pushed a cart, that had a tea pot, and some cups. She poured some tea for Sami. Lysander held Sami hand, as they sat on the red velvet sofa. "Lysander? Care for some tea?" The maid asked.
"Where were you?" Sami asked, softly.
Lysander looked down at his sister, "Don't worry sis."
The maid walked over, and handed the cup of tea to Sami.
Sami gently sipped, the cup Lysander smiled watching his sister.
"It's spring Sami, aren't you excited?" The maid asked, smiling at the siblings bonding.
Lysander looked at the maid, raising an eyebrow, "Oh right, the spring festival?"
The maid nodded then said, "Oh, Lysander your father court wishes to speak to you."
"When?" Lysander asked, raising an eyebrow.
The maid gestured, towards the hallway, indicating it had to be now.
"Sami, I will be back soon."
Sami looked at her brother, and frowned, "Brother don't leave me."
Lysander hugged his sister, then whispered to her, "I will be back, I promise. Then we can do anything you like."
"Promise?" Sami asked, wiping away her tears.
"Don't cry now, you wouldn't want to make me sad right?" Lysander said, in a gentle tone.
Sami shook her head rapidly then said with a smile, "I won't cry, for brother!"
The maid smiled, watching the two siblings bond and how Sami would only smile for her one true brother. Lysander.

Lysander arrived into the meeting a little late, there were six men on two tables, three on the right, three on the left, and there was a large bed. With pillows and curtains. The curtains were closed, but there was a figure inside of the small area.
"You're late." A man said, looking at Lysander and questioning his clothing.
Lysander noticed he still had on the green shirt and jeans.
"I'm sorry, do forgive me." Lysander said, looking down.
"Forgive him...." A old voice said.
It sounded, weak, and seemed like the person had a sore throat.
"Father, shouldn't you be resting?" Lysander asked, looking at where his father sat behind the curtains. You couldn't see through the curtains, yet Lysander knew his father's voice.
"There, are other matters that need to be discussed." Father said, in a rusty voice.
Lysander took a seat, and looked at the curtains waiting for his father to go on.
"What are the issues?" Lysander asked.
There was a short pause before, "I'm growing weaker, one must take the empire. If no one claims the throne. The empire...will be nothing but rubble within weeks."
"Father, I am just not fit to be known as emperor." Lysander said, exhaling looking down.
There was silence, Lysander could see people rolling their eyes.
"Son, are you familiar with the man named Zero?" Father asked, coughing.
Lysander knew, that his alter ego was a wanted man.
"Yes, what does he have to do with anything?" Lysander asked, looking up at the curtain.
Father then spoke, "He is a disgrace, we will need to have security at the festival."
Lysander looked at the other men, then at his father, "Is there anything else?"
There was silence, then loud intense coughing, "Yes, you may leave."

Lysander made his way back to Sami's room, he opened the large golden door, there stood someone talking to Sami.
"You aren't Lysander." Sami said, looking at the figure who held her hand.
"Hey, Sami. It's me." The figure said.
He was tall, looked sixteen, he had short dark brown hair, that rested down, he had more of a tan then Lysander, the figure had a black jacket, with a grey hood, dark blue jeans. The figure turned around and looked at Lysander.
"Mason." Lysander said, narrowing his eyes.
"Lysander, its a pleasure to see you again." Mason said, letting go of Sami's hand.
The half brothers stared one another down.
"Sami, me and Mason are going to talk outside. Then we can do anything you like." Lysander said, over his shoulder as he left the room. Mason followed his brother, they were standing in the hallway, it was silent between them.
"Where have you been?" Lysander whispered.
Mason shrugged then said, "Traveling, I heard about the robbery last night."
Lysander looked at his brother then narrowed his eyes again, "So you know, about the attack."
"Yup, shape shifter I would assume." Mason said, shrugging.
Lysander looked at Mason and softened his glare, "How long, have you been in town?"
"Just got in, it was a long trip. How is father?" Mason asked, raising a eyebrow at Lysander.
"Not so well, he still very ill." Lysander said, looking at a picture on the wall.
Mason looked at his brother, "Allow me to take the title of emperor."
"You aren't first in line, furthermore, even if I allowed you to take it. Father would never allow it." Lysander said, low.
"As long you're alive, you stand in my way. Foolish as always. We will see who is left standing." Mason said, low. He walked away down the hall.
Lysander knew, that Mason was determined to take the grand title. Even if it meant, killing him.

"The emperor is very ill." A voice said, walking into a private saloon. A figure sat in the dark, as they played with some gold coins. Admiring how valuable they were. "Of course, he has Lismplily. A illness that slowly makes you weak, then consumes your lungs, then bladder, then your mind making you see things that aren't there. Then finally a heart attack." The figure said.
"What about the children, if the emperor dies. They have back up." The voice said, approaching the table more.
The figure was silent trying to think, of what to do, "Kill them."
They turned around, and had pictures of the royal family children, Lysander, Mason, and Sami.
The figure got up, and got a single dart, and closed their eyes, and threw it at the pictures.
It landed on, Sami's picture.
"So the first target, is helpless little Sami." The figure said, looking at it.

Chapter One : Silver Sword

"So what is wrong with you?" A voice asked, looking at Lysander.
They were sitting on a hill that was out of the city, the hill over looked the large empire, "Mason, is back in town."
The figure, who Lysander was talking to was his friend, May she had on black glasses, that were in the shape of small rectangles, she had on a short sleeve green shirt, with light blue jeans, she had on no shoes, she had long brown hair in a braid, her skin was a soft ivory, her eyes were hazel, and she looked sixteen as well.
"Since when?" May asked.
"A few days ago." Lysander sighed.
May sighed, looking at the dew on the grass, it just got done raining few minutes ago. "Are you feeling ok?"
"Yeah, why?" Lysander asked, looking at May.
May shrugged then said, "There has been people growing ill, even the emperor has it. You could get infected."
"No, my immune system is off the charts. You know that May." Lysander said, looking at her.
"What about Sami? Isn't she pure human?" May asked.
There was silence, then Lysander said, "Yes, plus the fact her being blind, doesn't help her chances of being well."
"Are you planning on attending the Spring Festival?"
"I'm planning on taking Sami, if the head nurse will allow it." Lysander said, laying down on the hill.
May nodded then said, "Right, her condition may restrict her from attending."
"Its a real shame, that she can't see every beautiful thing in this world, also she is lucky. She doesn't need to see all I have seen." Lysander sighed.
May rubbed Lysander's upper back with her hand, "At least you're there for her."
Then Lysander looked up at the city, scanning the place, he could feel something was off. "Something isn't right..."
"What do you mean?" May asked, confused
Lysander exhaled then said, "I'll see you later."
He ran to a small hole hidden by bushes, that lead into the city, Lysander inhaled the air deeply, there was a hint of blood in the air. He knew there was something, wrong. What was it, a man walked past Lysander glaring at him, he bumped into him hard. "I'm sorry, didn't see you there." The man said, slowly turning around.
"It's alri---." Lysander said, he noticed the man. The man, had a long burn mark going across his face, he had bright blue eyes, he had a wicked grin on, he looked twenty, he had a long blue robe on, and his hair was a light red.
The man was involved with a large massacre back 2002, Lysander knew the face of the son who led the attack. "Hey Lysander, I haven't seen you since then."
"I thought you killed, in that explosion." Lysander said, looking at the man.
"Let's talk about this, somewhere else." The man said, walking away.
The smell of blood sunk from the man, Lysander followed him, "I see you are still dressing as a commoner."
There was silence, Lysander didn't trust the guy, he knew what had happen that night. He couldn't trust him, only if he had his swords.
They arrived to a saloon, no one paid attention to them, "How the hell, did you survive. We all saw you blow up in that fire."
"Well, I thought I was doomed. Then I was saved, I was taken out of the city. Then I spent all the years training..." The man said, grabbing the glass and taking a sip.
"What are you, I can smell the blood on you. Clearly you are something else, or a psychopath." Lysander whispered.
The man looked at him, "I'm not human, so better watch your mouth Lysander."
"What are you?" Lysander asked, in a whisper.
"I changed my name to Phoenix, does that give you any clues?" Phoenix said, looking Lysander.
Lysander thought of the possibilities, then he looked at him, "You can control fire?"
"I can create a fire anywhere I desire, in someone's body even. And I can control it at will, with hands and mind." Phoenix spoke, smirking
"So, that fire gave you a new life? What about everyone else who was slaughtered?" Lysander said, low.
Phoenix looked at him then chuckled, "They were killed, their will power to live was to weak, so the fire consumed them. I was speared, even if my body is covered in burn marks. I shall never die now."
"Don't get so full of yourself." Lysander said, glaring at Phoenix.
Phoenix grabbed Lysander by the throat then slammed his head down on the counter, which was marble, there was a small dent in the counter. Everyone was now staring at them.
"I can easily kill you, you're the weak one here. A member of the royal family, shouldn't be weak. Even if you have everything you want, being full of yourself is apart of you. So I would recommend keeping your mouth shut. There are many people who want to kill you."
Phoenix hand was putting a lot of pressure onto, Lysander neck. Leaving a small burn mark.
He let go of Lysander and got up then left the bar, Lysander got up and left without saying anything to anyone.
Lysander placed his hand on the back of his neck, where the burn mark was. Lysander exhaled he walked back to the castle. The burn mark healed quickly, Lysander didn't know how he could heal so quickly, since the age of five. Everyone in the castle knew something was special about Lysander. Although somethings some doors are best left closed.

Mason was practicing fencing, his trainer would always remain silent, some said his tongue was cut off in a fight, yet he was the best fencing teacher in the entire empire. Mason had been fencing, ever since he was ten. Both of the brothers, were skilled with a sword. Mason was a brutal swordsman, he was able to find a weak point in someone, by staring into their face. Yet his master, was a tricky one to beat. The timer ran out, Mason groaned, taking the mask off of his head, "Why the hell can't I win?"
"Its cause, you aren't good enough to take someone down." The teacher said, leaving his mask on.
Mason glared at him then growled, "What did you say?"
The teacher showed, no fear he looked at Mason, "You are to brutal, you can't focus on the task. All you desire is the end result. That result, is just a dream. Since you can't even close your eyes, and take the path to be able to reach. The dream, or the end result."
"What do you tell, Lysander?" Mason said, low.
The teacher exhaled then spoke, putting his sword away, "I am not in charge of him."
Mason glared, and walked out of the room. In his room, he had a dark gothic theme, a girl laid on a black sofa next to a fireplace. "What is it? You seem sad."
"I'm not sad, I'm angry." Mason said, walking over to the girl. He played with her hair, as he tried to calm himself down, "Lysander, my half brother. Is the favorite, he gets what he wants, and will be emperor one day. He doesn't even want it, and I can't have it as long he is alive."
Mason, stroked the girls hair, he ran his hand down her neck.
"I'm sorry, anything I can do to help?" The girl asked, batting her eyes at Mason.
He chuckled, and pushed her down on the sofa, keeping her pinned down hard.
"Oh sweetie, there is so much you can do for me. But for tonight." Mason growled, low. He chuckled, then bared his teeth at the girl.

Lysander laid in the large bath tub, he stood up and pulled the plug, and grabbed a towel, then wrapped a towel around himself.
Once he stepped into his room, he inhaled the smell of blood, Lysander hurried, to get on boxers and a pair of black sweats. He hurried towards the smell. Mason stood in the hallway, a man laid on the floor, his skin was a sickly grey, he had coughed up a puddle of blood, he was one of the servants. He was infected with the disease the emperor has. "Please...kill me."
"Why would I do that?" Lysander asked, narrowed his eyes. He was confused.
The servant coughed up more blood, "You have to, please."
The servant pulled a knife, out of nowhere and came towards Lysander as if he was possessed.
Lysander kicked him in the face, then pressed his foot down on his throat, Lysander growled low at the servant, and soon after that the servant died. There was a large hole through his back, claw marks. Lysander took his foot off the servant and looked at the body.
A dark feeling slowly came over Lysander, pulling him down into a dark abyss, a sharp pierce ran through him, it was a dart. It felt more like a sword.
"This isn't good." A maid sighed, shaking her head. She got Lysander on his feet, she had his arm on her shoulder, as she lead him back to his room. She laid him down in the bed, and covered him with a blanket.

The maid cleaned the wound, she had given him. "I'm so sorry Lysander, you don't need this..."
As the maid left the room, she got into the hallway, and there was Mason standing there with a knife up to her neck.
"Tell me, what is so special about my brother. If you don't tell me, your throat is easy to cut as butter. And I would hate to take away Sami's favorite maid. So tell me, for Sami's sake."
"I don't know, what you're talking about." The maid said, stuttering.
Mason chuckled then let the cold knife, rest on her throat, "I will say this one more time. What the hell is so damn special about my brother!"

Chapter Two : A Game In Your Mind

It was the first day of the Spring Festival; everyone was in a cheerful mood, it was a weeklong party, everyone would enjoy this week. It used to have a great meaning to the weeklong party, but now most people use it as an excuse to get drunk. There were many colorful stands, some fun activity for everyone; a stage had band members setting up. Yet the band couldn’t play anything rough, only cheerful music, and relaxing music. Lysander looked out from his bedroom window; he knew how much Sami loved going around and enjoying the festival. Even if she couldn’t see anything, she loved it.
Lysander looked through his wardrobe; he didn’t want to walk around looking high and mighty. The way he saw it, if you were to wear a royal robe, it was like a male lion. Walking around with its head up high, showing its mane. While commoners, were like zebras, the lion stands out in a herd of zebras. He slipped on a white clock, which many commoners would use. On under, he had a black jump suit. He walked on over to Sami’s room. She wasn’t up yet; usually her maid would gotten her up. Lysander smiled at her, how she just slept so peacefully.
He sat on her bed, and then spoke softly, “Sami, it’s the Spring Festival, are you excited?”
“Yes I am.” Sami said, in a soft voice.
She sat up quickly, and hugged her brother.
“I am excited, what should we do first!” Sami said, eagerly as she sprung out of the bed, and tripped on over to her wardrobe. Lysander walked on over to her, “What do you want to wear?”
“I don’t want a dress, I want something fun!” Sami said, bouncing up and down.
Lysander didn’t know a thing about women clothing, he looked through her clothes, and he found a blue jumper, “I hope you like this.”
He looked around and walked over and hit a buzzer, that would call a maid on over. Where was the head maid, she would take care of Sami.
But what happened to her?
******************

Lysander walked into the kitchen, he never ate, he could eat food but it didn’t fill him up or anything. Mason was leaning on the counter and tossing an apple up and down.
“Morning Lysander.” Mason said, casually.
There was silence, until Lysander let out a sigh, “You are never up before three, or you don’t come out of your room until four. Its ten o’clock you know that?”
“I decided to do something new today, got a problem?” Mason said, he had a sharp glare. It reflected like a knife, into your heart.
“No, I just wasn’t expecting you.” Lysander said, watching his brother.
Mason smirked, then left the room; Lysander knew Mason was always up to no good
***************
The real festival started at night, lamps were lit by hand, with lights going over the walkway, creating a peaceful setting. In the streets, Lysander held Sami hand, like if he was her father carefully guiding her around the streets. May smiled when she saw Lysander, she walked over to them. “Hey you two how are you guys?”
Sami gave a small smile then said, “May? Is that you?”
“Yes, it’s the amazing May.” Lysander chuckled, rolling his eyes.

May knew he was being sarcastic, the look in his eyes said it all. “So, Sami what do you want to do first?” May asked, in a motherly tone.
“Hmm, the dance floor!” Sami said, running off to where the band was planning.
“Man, I swear she needs to stop running off!” Lysander exhaled, annoyed as he chased her. May followed close behind them. Sami used her sharp hearing to find the music. Once they reached the dance floor. Lysander grabbed her arm gently then said, “Sami, don’t ever run off like that again.”
“I’m sorry…” Sami said, frowning then looking down.
Lysander sighed then looked at May, “What should we do?”
Sami didn’t look real happy, about possibly going back to the castle.
Phoenix stood off to the side watching them. Then Lysander whispered to May, “Take Sami, somewhere safe. I will catch up.”
May raised an eyebrow then saw the man who was eying them, “Don’t get involved, we can tell the police.”
“I’ll be fine, just get her somewhere safe.” Lysander said, walking over Phoenix. May dragged Sami to a mini game that was down the street east from the dancing circle. “Hello Lysander, what’s wrong?”
“Why are you here?”
“Came to warn you, some uninvited guests will be coming soon.” Phoenix chuckled.
Lysander looked at him then said, "What do you mean?"
"Some people here are going to be after few people here. Where is Zero?" Phoenix asked, looking at Lysander.
Lysander narrowed his eyes then said, "He has no time for, such boring things like this."
Only two people knew who Zero was, only his friend, and Phoenix. No one else knew the saviour to many people, to the authorities he was a out law. Lysander looked through the crowd, a selected group of people had super powers, you could call them.
There was a small group of four or three people, who will create alter realities. If they catch you are screwed.

A man approached Lysander stopping him in his tracks, Lysander knew who and what the guy was. If he made eye contact with the man, he would be sent into a coma. Until the Dreamer decided he was done with him.

Chapter Three : Torch Of Lies

Mason yawned as he sat in the castle library as his private teacher, taught him all about the wars that went on in the past. "This stuff is 100% useless, its useless as a simple piece of rusty old iron."
"Mason, please behave." The teacher sighed, as she tried her best to control the student who wouldn't listen to anyone, but his ego.
A small, bald man who wasn't in shape ran into the library and whispered something into her ear, her eyes widen. As if the small words, stopped her heart. A few small words, can change a life for the best or for the worse.
Mason overheard, he grinned at how wonderful the words sounded together.

Lysander woke up in a unknown cabin outside of the city, he was on a pile of blankets
