WHERE WERE YOU ON THAT DAY
Where were you on the day that America was shaken
Did you think the news was mistaken
As you watched the buildings fall
Did you feel your skin crawl
Did you hear it on the news when you woke
Or did you see the huge clouds of smoke
Could you see the faces of the people in the street
Or did you feel the fire and the heat
Did your brain shift from disbelief to overload
As you watched the buildings explode
Where were you the day that America was shaken
Did you ask God if we had been forsaken
Where were you on that awful day
When the sky turned from blue to gray
When you heard about all the destruction and death
Did you stop to catch your breath
When you heard those awful cries
Did you wipe the tears away from your eyes
When you saw all of the sorrow
Did you think we wouldn’t see tomorrow
Where were you the day that America was shaken
Where were you when so many were taken
When you sat and watch day after day
Did you fall to your knees and pray
When you rushed from here to there
Did you feel the strangeness in the air
When you slept during the night
Did you hold your love ones tight
When you heard our leader say the enemy must be killed
Did you think how much more blood would be spilled
Where were you on the day that America was shaken
Did your heart and soul finally awaken
