Chapter 1

So let me get this straight you don’t believe in monsters? Well your wrong! Because all of my friends including me are as you say “monsters”. but we are not even that we are loving, caring, and generous creatures. What am I saying we are not loving or caring not even generous, we are who we want to be like I could be Paris Hilton. So we are real but in our own part of the world ours is the best there can be there’s black and brown trees everywhere and no humans, it’s a monsters dream. Except for me and some others like I have to drink human blood sometimes so I have to go to their part of the world. I wish I was normal sometimes I don’t like being a “monster”. It bugs me that people call us that I just wish I could do something about it. But we live just like humans we go to school, we have houses, and we sleep. So what’s the deference between us huh? But anyways I love to have fun with my family and friends. “Dylan get out of your coffin right now!” my mom screamed. Today was Monday. I don’t like these days because I have to go to Monster Crow High. That’s the school that I’m forced to go to. “Dylan Bites get out of your coffin this instant or you’ll get grounded!” my dad yelled. As soon as he did I jumped out of bed and ran upstairs. “Yes daddy” I screamed “is today your big day?”
“Yes my little blood sucker now get dressed and go to school you don’t want to be late again.” he said and started pushing me to the wardrobe room. Its fun when we play like that because we have a game to see who gets finished first. Usually I lose but sometimes he’ll let me win! So I had to get dressed, drank some bloody temple, and ran out for the scarebus. I think its stupid to ride a bus to school because I have my wings! But I haven’t used them yet because I might brake one. I’m such a klutz!So as soon as I got on the bus everyone started clapping for no reason like everyday. I saw my friend Sam she’s a devil literally. I walk over to her while she text’s our friend Alice.
“Who are you texting?” I say in her crushes voice.
“Skylark I told you don’t come near me or I‘ll ___” she stopped “Hey sorry thought you were Skylark he‘s been bugging me for days!” her face turned white. That means she was blushing since she’s red she blushes white.
“Aw you like him! You love him you like him you want to marry him!” I said throwing my homework at the nerd that does it. “Hurry up it has to be done by third scream!” I screamed.
Chapter 2
When we finally got to school some kid picked me and Sam up and carried us off the bus. I nodded in approval to them saying that we would kiss them on the cheek. After Sam and I did the guys ran to there group. They were footballers so we made them look better after kissing there cheek.
“Allie you know how you said that there‘s a new monster coming?” I asked Allie. She looked at her horn stomped her hooves “Yea what about it?”
I stared at her for a minute “Where is it?” I say as nice as I can. She looks around and nays. This new monster is cute! He has to be a vampire he is as pale as me and has the same eye color. He has this cute muscular look when he takes his leather jacket off.
“Dylan this is Darren.” Allie said without looking at us.
“H-h-hi” Darren says staring into my eyes. I cant stop staring into his.
But of course it gets ruined by my “great” friends.
“Hey welcome to Monster Crow High if you need help you can either come to us or the nerds.” I say while getting my brand new “give me the blood” purse. Wow I think I’m in love! But I cant be I’ve never been in love before what am I going to do and what if the group finds out? I’m doomed! I guess I can tell them and we can all live like we use to and have new boyfriends. But right now I cant tell them maybe at a bad time so they’ll understand.
“Dylan hello are you there?” my friend Ella ask me. She’s the best friend that I have and I have a lot of them. After I met Darren I’ve been wanting to go to first scare because I heard he’s in the same class as I am!
After I talked and the scream ringed I let the football players carry me to my first scare. When they dropped me off I kissed there cheeks like usual. As I walked in I saw Darren talking to Marshall the class reaper. He is one of the scariest guys in that class but that’s because he’ll rip his face off if you make him mad. I walked over to them to see what they’re talking about.
“Well here comes my little princess! How do you do your majesty?” Marshall say’s while I stop right next to him. He knows that I don’t like him but he loves me and he protects me more than anything.
“Marshall, I thought I told you I‘m not your ‘little princes‘ but I appreciate you calling me that again.” I said as polite as possible so I could make a good impression.
“Hi again Dylan, are you and Marshall going out?” Darren ask in a quite don’t tell anyone tone.
“No way dude I wish we was but we are just friends. Unless you want to change your mind Dylan.” Marshall says staring at me one eyebrow up.
“You know about my vow with the ghouls unless we change our mind then I‘ll hook you and Sam up I know you have a lot in common.”
“No we don’t!”
“Yes you do you both like scaring people and you‘ll be cute together besides I have my eye on another ghoul.”
“Who is it?”
“Can‘t say but you heard nothing!”
“Fine I wont tell anyone.” He said and that was the last thing he said to me.
“So Darren since your new why don’t you sit with the football players at lunch today ill tell them to be easy on you for today.” I tell Darren, he shrug’s staring into my eyes again like earlier.
“Dylan why wont you date anyone?” he ask me so quietly not taking an eye of me.
“Because I‘m not ready to get hurt I heard when you date and you brake up you always get hurt.”
“Well if I dated you I would never hurt you.” he says. I cant breath, I cant speak all I do is turn as red as a cherry. I walk away still red while everyone stares at me. I have never blushed like this before and to a boy! What am I going to do? I think again. The teacher finally walks in.

Chapter 3

“Get to your seats.” he said. Since my old friend Holly moved and she sat right next to me I sit alone so I think he might have to sit by me! “Everyone meet Darren the new ghoul as Monster Crow everybody welcome him and treat him like you treat everyone.” the teacher says. He points at the chair next to me and makes Darren sit there. SCORE!! HE’S SITTING BY ME YAY! “Everybody get your partner and do experiment 201. Remember no rough housing. That includes you Marshall!” she says and sits in her teacher seat. She’ll probably fall asleep like usual.
“How do we do this?” Darren ask me.
“Open your book and look for page 201.”
“Okay and…”
“We go from there.”
“Oh okay thanks you’re a good help.”
“Welcome and you know you don’t have to be my partner.”
“Yea so.”
“Don‘t you want to have a guy partner and get to know them?”
“It doesn’t matter if you want a different partner then ill go to someone else.”
“You choose and let me see your screamuale.” I say. He hands me his screamuale.

Wow he has the same classes as me every single one! Same for my friends. Now what can I do if I cant talk to him then he’ll stop liking me and if I talk to him all the time they’ll know I like him. Oh well I have to enjoy it.
“Dylan can you be my partner?” my friend Alice asks me. I look at Darren and he looks at me.
“Sorry I already have a partner. But next scare I will.”
“Okay!” she said and walked off. Darren is still staring at me.
“When will you start dating?” he asks me. I’m shocked again.
“Ask my group it‘s up to them.”
“But its your love life!”
“I know but__”
“But nothing you can choose if you want to date or not.” he screams. Nobody noticed. My mouth dropped open. I couldn’t talk again.
“What did you just say?”
“Its your love life you get to choose who you love, who you want to marry, and who you want to date! Not your friends.”
“I have never heard anyone talk to me like that.” I say in the saddest way I started crying.
“WELL ITS YOUR DATE LIFE YOU DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO DO LITTLE PEST!”
“Just stop okay I hate people like that gosh maybe if I did date I would Marshall.” I scream and this time Marshall notices. He gets up and walks over to us. I couldn’t even talk anymore all I could do is get up and run. I ran out of the room so did Marshall and Darren. I turn around my make-up running my face as white as can be. Marshall comes up to me and gives me the biggest hug he could to make me feel better. I allowed him to and I actually hugged him back. I was so sad.
“Marshall I love you so much your always there for me and if I did date I would date you!” I said still crying.
He takes his jacket off and puts it around me. He faces Darren.
“What‘d you do to her she‘s never cried like this at school before.” Darren couldn’t even speak he just went back to the classroom and got all of my friends. They all ran outside and took me to the bathroom. Mary hit Darren on the side of the arm on accident. He felt guilty and wouldn’t talk to me or Marshall the rest of class.

Chapter 4
“Can we stop?” I ask all the girls.
“Stop what?” Sally May ask.
“Stop doing the I don’t date thing we are in high school we need to start dating and I know perfect people for every single one of ya’ll!” I say as happy as can be.
“Well if you want to because we all heard you say that you would date Marshall if you could.” Ella said. Everyone nodded. I took a piece of paper out of my notebook and wrote down who should date who.

Sally May = Grayson
Ella - Gecio
Mary - Marco
Allie - Roboto
Sam - Skylark
Alice - Polo

There perfect for each other they have a lot in common and I know they all like each other. I gave everyone there date paper and they all nodded in approval. We walked back to class and I guess Darren swapped partners now my partner is Marshall.
“Do you want your jacket back?” I ask Marshall
“No you keep it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
“Thanks.” I said and gave him a hug.
“Hey Marsh did you hear the news?” Grayson said.
“No what?”
“The princesses are finally dating! I‘m dating Mary.”
“Stop kidding!”
“He‘s not.” I say quietly.
“Really?”
“Really, why would I lie about that?”
Marshall got down on his knees “Dylan will you go out with me?”
I nod, he jumps up, picks me up, and gives me a hug. And every guy that’s going out with my friends do that to. They put us down and we get back to our project. All I could hear in the room is people whispering and passing notes. Everyone started staring at Darren who just sat there staring at Marshall and me with his hand balled into a fist. I looked at him with a if-you-do-I-will-brake-your-hand look and he relaxed it. We carried on our work, except Darren who stared at us. I got cold so I snuggled up to Marshall.
Bring Bring the bell rang. Instead of the football players carrying me the football captain (Marshall) picked me up and carried me to my next class.

Chapter 5
I’m happy Marshall has all the classes I do. But that’s because at the beginning of the year he changed all of them to mine. He sat me down on my desk and stared into my eyes.
“I will never hurt you. And if anyone does I will make it all better.” he said and he pulled off his face to make me laugh. I think its funny when he does it because when he puts it back on its upside down. Which it happened and I forgot all about the Darren thing. Almost all the girls that liked Marshall came to me and gave me the evil eye. I took it as a compliment. Mr. Hollowweb walked in frowning like usual. “Today yall are going to gym so get out of my classroom. And whoever has Mrs. Labrinith will stay in there,” he said.
All my friends and I got carried to the gym and watched everyone all the fouls play Scream Football and the ghouls play Scream Tennis. Mostly the fouls. Since we don’t play scream sports we watch them have fun. The zombies that where playing, hit us with there arms because they weren’t stitched on good.
“All zombies come here!” I scream they walk over to us I get my needle and thread out and start fixing there arms. “Now no more hitting us for a while okay.” I say politely. They all stare in a why-did-you-do-that way. I smiled again and watched them go back and play.
“Wow I cant believe you did that princess!” A football player named Jocko screamed.
“Got to be nice at times right?” we all scream. All the guys laugh at him and go back playing football.
“Sally May why don’t you play we all know you like sports its not a secret anymore!”
“Well okay only if they let me.” she said. “Hey boys can I play?”
“Ha you play your only a girl you probably don’t even know how to through a scare!” Jocko screams while they guys high-five him.
“Ghouls can play to!” Alice screams.
“Just let her play and if she gets hurt no more for her.” Grayson said and that was the end of it. She got up and went to play. It was the best I have ever saw, she was the only ghoul that played and it was as good as the boys!
“Wow Sally-May” the coach walks from his scare-room, “that was amazing would you join the ghouls scare football team?” she nodded and that was that she got what she wished for.Just seeing her play a sport with boys makes me want to do something. Like scare volleyball, scareleading, or even scare basketball. Something just to have something to do. But what?
“Marshall come here!” screams Makalu. That’s one of the girls that are insane about Marshall.
“What?” he says.
“Is it true that you and Dylan are going out?”
“Yea why.”
“Just wondering” she says and walks away gagging. “She makes me so mad!” I whisper to my group.
“Why? She can be cool at times!” Alice said.
“She hates me now because I‘m dating her dream guy.”
Alice gets up and walks over to Sally-May who is sitting with all the guys. She pulls Roboto. She walks out of the gym with him and five minutes later she walks in smiling.
“What’s your problem?” Mary ask.
“Nothing just thinking. So about the Darren thing.” she said back.
“What about it?” I say.
“Are ya‘ll going to scream or what?”
“If he screams first then yea we‘ll be cool but if not then I’m going to act like he’s not alive!” I say and I guess Darren over hears and comes up to us.
“Can we not help you?” Ella ask and we all burst out laughing.
“I need to talk to her.” he said.
“Fine I‘ll talk to you but doesn’t mean anything!” I say. He pulls me over to the side. He has a tight grip on my arm and I started screaming in pain. Marshall stands up to see what’s going on. Darren releases as soon as I say ’LET GO!’.
“Marshall its okay you can sit down!” I say. “So what do you want?”
“I want to apologize for how I acted.”
“I accept.”
“Good friends?”
“Friends.” I say and I hug him for my apology.
“Dylan, will you come here?” Marshall screams. I shrug and sit down right next to him. “Are you two friends again?” he ask me.
“Yea why?”
“Because the way he treated you, I don’t like him but if you do then you can hang out with him I wont stop you because I‘m not you. But if he hurts you again I’m a” he stops and stares into my eyes. “Just please tell me if he hurts you again because I promise it will never happen again!” he says.
“Okay, and why don’t you let him sit with ya’ll and get to know him better?” I say and Marshall nods.“Bad Reaper” I wink and walk away.“Line up its time for your next screams!” Coach Scare-O-Meter screams. Everybody leaves except for me. I just stand in one spot staring at a shadow that wasn’t mine. I looked around no one is there. Something touches my shoulder, I turn around as fast as possible. Nothing was there. I turn back around to stare at the shadow but this time is was moving. I walked over to it, but it started running so I followed it. It disappeared in the ghouls locker room. I walk in as quite as I can be because it could be something that could be stronger than me. I found the shadow but this time it looked like it was getting attacked.
“Hello anyone there?” I ask. “If there is please show yourself.” After I said that this little girl came out. I scream because I have never saw anything like it but I’ve heard bad things about them. I didn’t know what to do. Should I run, hide, or hurt her?
“Are you a---” I say but she interrupts.
“Yes I‘m a five year old human girl and you have to be a vampire from the books I read!” she squeals.
“Yea so what are you doing here?”
“I don’t know I‘m scared. Monsters are everywhere and I don’t know what to do will you help?”
“How?”
“I don’t know just help me can you take care of me until I become a monster?”
“How are you going” I say but I stop when I see her little eyes. They look just like my pet bats, and his eyes are so cute! “Sure what’s your name?”
“Isabelle Bites, and who are you?”
“Dylan Bites nice to meet you. Now come I will take you to my friends house to see what you‘ll become.” I say I pick her up. “Push the window open!” I say. And she does so. I through her threw the window and jump out. I pick her up and run as fast as I can.

Chapter 6
I stop by my house real quick. I put the little girl down and let her walk in with me.
“Momma Daddy come here!” I scream. They walk in drinking blood wine. “This is Isabelle Bites do you know who she is?”
“Isabelle! Is that really you we have waited for you for months!” my mom says. It looks like she’s fixing to cry.
“That cant be her she‘s suppose to be older than Dylan.” my dad says.
“Mommy? Daddy? I missed you so much what happened?” Isabelle screams and jumps into there arms. I stare for a minute.
“WHAT’S GOING ON?” I scream.
“Dylan this is your little sister. She used to be older than you, we had her five years before you but some men took her away when we went down to the earth. She was only five when it happened and I guess she finally came back!” my dad said. I looked at both of them.
“Well how come she isn’t a vampire then?” I ask.
“She was until she got taken away.” my mom says. “I guess we have to turn her into one!”
“I‘ll do it.” I say and pull her to the side. She looks at me worried but I don’t care I take her to my bedroom and bite her neck. My mom and dad walks in twenty minutes later. She was finally a baby vampire. They stare at her and that’s it. I go back to school. Everyone stares at me when I walk back in. I look at them with the death look and they all turn back around. I walk to some guy to ask him what scream it was but instead my friends took me by the hands and dragged me to Artoligic . I guess this was my next class. I walk in and everybody stares.
“Why did you stay in the gym?” Darren ask. I shrug I don’t feel like talking right now I just want to think. Think about the shadow, to think about Isabelle and the way my parents are acting, the way I had to bite her neck. I look at the corner of the room and I see it again. The shadow. I watch it again but this time it show’s someone falling after the attack. I couldn’t stop staring at it, was it real or was I just seeing things? It took its hand stuck out its second finger and told me to follow it. I looked around to see if anybody was watching but they were all gone. “”I wonder where they went” I say. I hear a noise from the hallway. I got up from my chair and peeked my head over the corner to see.
