Amelia is nervous but keeps her ridicule close to her as she waits for the train to leave. She had snuck the letter from Kieth and read it. She had immediately started packing and had left a note for her parents telling them she was going to get married and not to worry.
Amelia decided she would marry him. She wasn't very pretty but could cook and clean.Plus she loved children. She had decided not to mail him about her coming.
But instead had just caught the first train to Fairfield County, Ohio. She had her bonnet over her dark curly hair, which was in a bun. Her dress was a simple blue sleeved black dress. She sat by herself and made sure to not engage in a conversation with anyone, Especially a man.
She switched trains twice and ate from the restaurant by the Station. It was 39° the further into Ohio she went, the colder it got. By the time Amelia reached Fairfield county's station it was 32° out and she could see her breath as she tugged her shawl tighter around her when she got off the train.
Amelia hugged her bag and shawl to her, shivering and blowing out her warm breath in the cold air. The snow was a foot deep as she plodded through it to the nearest building.
Kieth Eby Looked up from the man he was talking to at the register.
Amelia walked up to them shivering, her teeth chattering. "d-do you know where K-Kieth Eby lives?" she asked them.
Kieth blinked. "I'm Kieth...why you want to know?" he looked the shivering woman over.
Amelia blushed. "I've come to marry you"
Kieth heard his friend chuckle beside him and walk away. He frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. "i haven't even put an ad in the paper yet...Where are you from?"
Amelia swallowed. "you sent a message to my Parents in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania..."
Kieth's eyes widened. "that must have been a week long trip...Why didn't you just send a letter? "
Amelia blushed again. "because it would have taken to long...I decided to come in person...I can cook, clean, and as far as i know...bear children" even her ears turned red.
