How God Answers My Three Nagging Questions

It all started in Portland, Oregon, the Place I call home. On that beautiful Saturday night, at the Johnny’s Olympic Room night club, J and I met and dated for two years before getting married. I was the apple of her eye and she was the cake and ice cream of my life. We talked about me having a son to carry on my name. It wasn’t long before she became pregnant with my child. At that time there wasn’t any ultra sound technology; when the baby started moving around in her stomach, she began calling him, “Junior.”

Meanwhile, during her pregnancy, I was constantly reminding my wife about not leaving the door unlocked while she was there alone. This unlocked- door thing went on, on and on! So, one day, when I came home early from work, I decided to sneak abound to the back and come through the kitchen door and enter the house to surprise her, as she wasn’t expecting me home until five o’clock. When I got to the back door I heard the radio playing and just as I walked up to the door< I saw my wife standing at the stove preparing my supper with the door open and the screen door unlocked. I sneaked the screen door open and sneaked up behind her and stood there like a stature and when she finally turned around, she gasped almost losing her breath. I gathered her in my arms and said I didn’t mean to scare you! About six o’clock that night her water broke.
I called our family doctor, Dr. Thompson. In Portland, Doctors make house calls. Around about eight o’clock, after examining my wife, he said that he was sorry and there were nothing more he could do; and that she had lost the baby. I’ll never forget the look on her face as she stared at me, lying there in the bed, and saying, “Dad I’ve done my duty!.” I looked at the baby lying on the bed. It was a boy! The doctor took the fetus and put it in a mason jar; and informed my wife that he had to immediately perform a certain medical procedure on her; and said that after this procedure, he couldn’t assure
