My Ending of Peeling the Onions
We drove up to the karate picnic and sat in the car for a little bit. I was worried about seeing everyone again and telling them I can’t do karate. It was heart breaking to me, and I was wondering how my coach would react. With Luke sitting by me in the car, I felt better. He was supportive of me and my decisions. After five minutes we got out of the car and walked up to the gathering of people. Everyone greeted me with hugs and questions. Everything was better then I expected. Everyone understood that I couldn’t do karate anymore.
After a while I saw Hayden drive into the parking lot in his new car. I was starting to feel funny, like I had feelings again for him. I think I do, I think I need to break up with Luke. I texted Luke from my phone across the table to his phone. When he looked at the text he seemed relieved as if he was going to brake up with me. I was happy when my phone buzzed and the text said he agreed.
I walked over to Hayden, still sitting in his car. He rolled down the window to talk to me. He said he just wanted to be friends. I agreed even though I didn’t want to. I knew it was the right thing and that I wouldn’t regret it later.
