Chapter 1: Gone
Family to family never staying in the same place. Last time I saw my mom I was only five. I remember like it was yesterday. It was freezing and it started to pour down raining. We were in the car. It was quiet; the only thing that that was heard between us was the rain that was beating against the window and roof. Finally my mother pulled into a abandon looking building. The building looked dark green, but it was actually a brown bricked building cover in moss. Once we parked she turned around to look at me in the backseat. At that time I didn’t notice, that her hazel eyes was filled with sadness and regret.
“Honey, I love you always no matter what.” She stared directly into my eyes as if she were trying to look into my soul. I didn’t know what was going on so I just nodded and she continues.
“I never told you this because you are to young and I though he would never come after us. ...”she paused just for a second and closed her eyes. Slowly she opened them and then she spoke in a sad, yet pleading voice. “Your father is not human. He is a werewolf. He is the alpha wolf of half of the Untied States. And he coming for you .I needs to protect you from him.” Mother stop and waited for me to do anything, yet I just sat there dumbfounded .Since I didn’t do any thing or replied she kept going.
“You’re special, very special. I prayed so hard that you would be human like me but you not. That birth mark is the symbol for you and other alphas wolfs. Go into that building. The people in there can help you in ways I can’t.” I was scared. Million thoughts were going though my head.
“Mommy are you coming with me?” I didn’t want mom to leave me. I didn’t want to be alone.
“I can’t sweetie. I have some thing to take care of first. Then I will come back for you.”
“Promise mommy.” I put my pinky out to make sure she promised. My mothers put her pinky out and intertwine her with mine then she said “I promise honey, now go.” I did what I was told. I slowly reach for the door and jump down out of the car. I started to walk toward the building. I reach the step that lead up into the build. I took a glance back .She was gone, nowhere in sight .Tear form in my eyes I started to cry. I was alone, no one to go to. She promises to come back, but when. Suddenly the wooden double door swung open. A lady that look about sixty dress in all back stood in the door way.
“Child what are you doing out in the rain?” She reach for me .I pulled away.” Mommy …she …left...me.” I was crying so hard now it was hard for me to see in front of me. The women pulled me into her arm and carried me into the house. That was the last time I saw my mom.
11 years passed since that time. I was living with Mary. She was the women who took me in. I told her what my mom told me .At first she left .I though I’d scared her away until second later she was returning. She said she was a werewolf also. From then on she became a second mother to me.
I was sitting in the living room. I was playing with my wavy black hair. Mary came in and sat across me in her favorite rocking chair. She started to rock back and forth and the chair then stop. She looked at me, and started to speak
“Shari you know I’m 71 and I might pass at anytime. “She looks at me with sad eyes just like my mother. I looked down at my feet.
“I know that for a while.” I looked up at her and continue.” Mary you show me the way of the wolf and how to live with my inner beast. I don’t want to lose you. I know you can pass at anytime, but don’t say it like it nothing.” I started to tear up. I got up and walk to her and sat right in front of her .I grabbed her hand gently and started to rub my thumb over her hand. Then she used her other handed and lift my chin up.
“Shari, I’m sorry. I have to make sure you can handle yourself out there without me there to support you.”
