BATTLE FORMATION (Series)
Prayer
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (KJV)
For our struggle is not against human opponents, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realms (International standard Version)

Battle Cry
James 5 : 13 – 20
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing praise. Is anyone among you ill? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned their sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful; and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring back that person back remember this: whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
1. Understanding Prayer
In our quest to understand prayer we will look at 2 words in their Greek format, Greek because most of the New Testament was written in Greek. The 2 words are proseuche (prayer) and deesis (petition/supplication)
In Ephesians 6:18, the Apostle Paul says “Praying always, with all prayer ….” In both instances the word “prayer” is taken from the most commonly used Greek word for prayer which is proseuche. This is a compound Greek word derived from the words pros and euche. The word proseuche has to do with a type of surrender, sacrifice and consecration, this word makes it apparent that God wants to do more than just bless us, He wants to transform us. He wants us to place our lives in His hands as we come face to face with him at His throne.
The word pros (from proseuche) is a preposition meaning face – to – face. The idea conveyed by this word is one of intimacy.
The second word euche (from proseuche, is a Greek word that means a desire, a wish or a vow. It was usually used to depict a person who made a vow before God in exchange for a favourable answer to prayer
Now, the word proseuche shows us 2 important things about prayer
1. That prayer should bring us face to face with God in an intimate relationship
2. That prayer is a place or act of decision and surrender where we freely vow to give our lives in exchange to God His divine life to be imparted upon us
The word deesis comes from the word deomai which mostly describes a need or want. The word denotes a cry for God’s help that exposes our inability to meet our own needs.
The word deesis is found in James 5:17, where it states Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly (deesis)… Elijah recognised his inability to change the situation apart from God’s intervention.
The word helps us realise that our appeal to God must be out of a deep sense of humility, requesting Him to grant our petition.
The Apostle Paul uses these 2 words together in Phillipians 4:6 where he says BE anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer (proseuche) and supplication (deesis) with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
The Apostle Paul links these 2 words together because they create the basis of how we should pray. The word proseuche focuses on the One to whom the prayer is directed and the word deesis focuses on the need or needs bring presented toward God.
My personal conclusion is that Prayer is an altar, a spiritual place or atmosphere we create to build an intimate conversation with God , and in that intimate conversation we make our wishes, wants and needs known to Him. Take note that I use the word alter because for prayer to be meaningful you give yourself to God, you open your heart and shred it to pieces before God and let Him consume it with the Fire of the holy Spirit creating a new heart that is fully loaded with the power (dunamis) of the Holy Spirit.
At some point in my life, I used to struggle with prayer.
I had been praying for a while and yet nothing was happening. I tried it all and visited a number of popular preachers, pastors and prophets yet everything remained stagnant while other areas got worse.
I had not understood that when praying one has to give themselves completely to God. My prayers were more of demands, where I literally stood before God with a shopping list telling God what I want, as if God was an ATM. These prayers were useless and I remained the same.
My life turned around the day I read
John15:7 If ye abide in me and my words abide in you , ye shall ask what ye will , and it shall be done unto you.
This verse opened my eyes to limitless possibilities and helped me realise the cause of stagnation in my prayer life. I didn’t abide in Jesus, I was more of a visitor, who came to get what he wanted and left.
It is sad to note that today most of us are visitors in Christ and we treat Church and the gospel like a Spaza shop where we frequent when we need to get something, after we receive it we head back to our homes.
We go to God when we need material things, and yet we should abide in Him; in Him should be our shelter, our refuge the place we call home should be in the arms of Saviour Jesus Christ. When you abide in Christ there is no condemnation, nor trial or tribulation that can take away your joy, peace and blessings.
Abide in Him
For us to enjoy answered prayer we need to abide in Him who answers prayer.
We need a personal and intimate relationship with God, and that is the starting point to answered prayer.
To build an intimate relationship with God we need to go before Him and accept Him. Accepting Him is giving Him His place in our lives as the Creator, the Provider and the Saviour. This can be done through opening our hearts to Him.
Opening our hearts to Him is like opening an account at the bank of heaven, you cannot walk into Standard Bank and demand money from there if you do not have a relationship (account) with them.
To open our heaven account and build a relationship with God we need to do the following from the depth of our hearts:
Acknowledge that we have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God
acknowledge that with God is able to save us from sin, trials and tribulations , with Him nothing is impossible
acknowledge Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God died for us on the cross and was raised on the third day that we may receive salvation
The Bible says Romans 10 : 9-10 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead , thou shalt be saved. (10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Now we need to make a confession , read the confession below out loud , if you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you can still say this confession and renew your relationship, confession and salvation with Jesus
Confession
With my mouth today I confess that I am a sinner who has fallen short of the glory of God, with my mouth I declare that I believe in Jesus Christ who was crucified at the cross of calvary, and rose on the third that I might be saved. I confess that Jesus Christ is now the Lord of my life, the Lord of my heart, mind, body and spirit. With this confession I declare that it is done in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
Congratulations, with that confession you have begun or renewed your relationship with God.
Go deeper
We have confessed that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is our Saviour. During His earthly ministries, Jesus did so many marvellous things, John 21:25 states that no book could ever be big enough to record and contain all the signs, wonders and miracles that Jesus did.
One thing that was quite noticeable was Jesus’ strong, consistent commitment to prayer. The Bible does state that Jesus had to seclude Himself from the crowds to go to a private place to pray to God. Jesus was truly a great Man of prayer. Jesus the Son of God being human, had to rely on God the Father for guidance and sustenance just as the children need to rely on their earthly father for food, shelter, advice and the general walk of life.
If Jesus had to rely on prayer so much, who are you to not want to rely on prayer? Ah Ah!!!!!
Jesus’ constant prayer life displays our very need to seek God’s face through personal prayer.
Going deeper in prayer
Prayer is a privilege that God gave us to stand in His Holy presence and communicate with the King of Heaven. God is the creator of the Heavens and the Earth and He knows everything that we are, that we need and want before we even take it to Him.
Prayer was made for us and is a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God. It is the fuel that propels our relationship with God.
Imagine if you had the opportunity to talk to the president of the country on a daily basis, imagine if he dropped everything he would be doing just so that he can listen to you and hear your cares, concerns burden and love for him….
Now if you spoke to the President like that on a daily basis your life would never be the sane again. You would develop a bond and a relationship that would transform your life forever.
We can do the same with our Heavenly Father, remember God created the Presidents of this world; He created some of the great prayer warriors we know. The same God who created these prayer warriors and gave them grace to be what they are today. The same God created you and you can talk to Him directly and receive your portion of grace to transform the nature of your life in all areas.
Prayer is like a key that is used in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse where God keeps treasures for us, boundless resources of Omnipotence.
Why do we pray
The Bible in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says “Pray without ceasing.” Jesus who is our example spent a lot of time in prayer, Jesus would pray to ask the Father for a fresh supply of strength we too must also spend a lot of time in prayer. We need prayer in our lives as it opens up the heart to God as a friend, a Father, a Provider. We pray so that we may receive what we want or need from God, because He has freely given us all things.
We pray to lift our hearts to God. Prayer is for mankind to communicate with God. How will you build your relationship with God if you do not communicate with Him and only wait for others to talk to God on your behalf …ah ah…!!!!
We pray to find comfort and joy in communion with our Holy Father.
We pray to fight the devil through fervent and constant prayer. The darkness of the evil one encloses those who neglect to pray. When you do not pray the devil will have his way with you, he will toss you around, kick you and up and down (really torment you), he will steal your destiny, keep you in debt, keep you in sickness and diseases and even steal your joy in your marriage or love life.
We pray to access everything and anything we need from God in accordance with His will.
The more time we spend in prayer the more we become like Him, the more we are filled with power, a power that enables us abide, ask and receive.
Faith and prayer
I always enjoy reading Hebrews Chapter 11 it reminds of the heroes of faith and what they accomplished through faith and prayer.
I believe that when we get to heaven we must all have stories to tell of how we achieved what seemed impossible through prayer and faith in God.
Hebrews 11: 1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things seen.
Now as we approach God in prayer we need to hold our feelings, our excitement, our state of mind as the evidence of that which we hope to receive from God.
You approach God with a positive mind, a positive feeling, a positive excitement, not negative, dull and dangerous . Your positive mind and attitude should come from knowing that He is God.
Hebrews 11:6 spells it out very clear – But without Faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Before you pray, believe that He is God (be positive about who He is doubts are not tolerated here), and believe that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (by abiding in Him, His will , His word you prove that you are diligently seeking Him)
When you master Hebrews 11:6, when you understand it, when you leave by its tone, character and nature then you start shouting the devil is in trouble. Hebrews 11:6 when actualised catapults you to a place where God rewards you for seeking Him. I call this the Jesus level. Jesus operated at this level, where He believed in the Father, and believed that He is a rewarder of those that seek Him. The First question that comes to my mind is Who is God, who is He?
2. Who is God?
When you know who He is it becomes easier to believe in Him, and the positivity come naturally because even in the boat on stormy seas you can shout ngiyamazi uBaba (I know my Father).
When I start talking about who God is I get excited, I feel proud to call Him Father and I boast in Him and who He is. God is all powerful, all seeing, all healing, and all glory in Heaven and on earth. When we pray He lifts us up to Him, and in Him we find strength, a renewing of our minds and a solution to each and every care, concern, burden or worry that we might have.
If you do not believe in His authority, or in His power and ability to do what His names say He will do then you will not receive the power you need. Believe in Him, have faith and it will be done for you according to your faith.
When you pray you need to know who He is, who is God to you and who is He to the problems you are faced with in your life? Who do you believe him to be in your life, in your situation and in your time of need? Let’s explore some of the names of God that we may realise who He is in our situation and in our lives

JEHOVAH EL GIBHOR
Mighty God (Isaiah 9:60 the Mighty warrior, who destroys God’s enemies and He shall reign Revelation 19:15
If you believe that this is who He is, that He is able to do as His names say then THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will take care of whatever your situation you are in and He will what has to be done for His name’s sake, that He may be glorified for Who He is.
Now that we know who He is lets explore the part of Hebrews 11:6 that says He is a rewarder of those that seek Him.
The Rewarder of those who seek Him
Things begin to change rapidly when we get to the level of being rewarded for seeking God. This is the Jesus level, the level of the Prophets, the Apostles and all those who have faith in God and diligently seek Him. At this level problems do not trouble you, you speak and it becomes, at this level you begin to do greater works than what Jesus did.
Let me show you something
Did you know that Jesus said we shall do greater works than He did if we believe in Him? This is the most powerful piece of information that you need to have in your walk of prayer. It does not state that only the prophets and the preachers will do greater works, but those that believe in Him.
John 14:12 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these because I am going to the Father.
Many of us go to different churches, some put faith in the Men and Women of God in front of them at their church. Others use anointing oil, while others are given stones, herbs, water or salt. Regardless of what you use at your place of worship the question remains: where is your faith? Is it in the preacher, the prophet, the anointing oil, the wrist band or is it in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit?
When you believe in God your faith is rewarded by Him who you have believed for who He is. When you believe you act out of faith and things happen according to your faith or the lack thereof.
The woman who had been bleeding for 12 years touched Jesus by Faith and she was healed according to her faith. Hebrews 11:1then goes on to state that “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is the fuel that drives you to make an earnest prayer before God , a prayer that unlocks the resources of heaven. Prayer without faith is no different from speaking to the image of you in the mirror. Using anointed oil without faith is no different from just using any oil picked up from the shelf of a supermarket. Having faith in a preacher or prophet and not having faith in God who is preached by the preacher is the worst thing that can happen to a human being.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God (not the word of a prophet, not oil, or any anointed items), so that things which are seen were made of things which do not appear. Without faith it is impossible to please God, and it is impossible to receive the things you desire from God. When you go to God in prayer believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that seek him.
Remember Sara through faith she received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past the age of delivery because she judged Him faithful as He had promised her. By faith the walls of Jericho fell after they were compassed about 7 days.
Having given these examples of faith and what it can do I now challenge you to think of the things you need in your life, think of the problems and situations that made you purchase this book, think of the things that you need help with. What do you want God to do for you?? Write it down
Are you broke and poor? – Then you are at the right place because this God you are about to pray to is a God who provides, and gives strength to gather wealth.
Are you sick and in need of healing, this God is a healer
Whatever you seek in your day to day life, God is there to provide for you, all you have to do is to believe. With God nothing is impossible.
Sin and effects on prayer
The bible does state that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In like manner you are a sinner. You cannot atone for your past sins; you cannot change your heart and make yourself holy. But God promises to do all this for you through Christ.
All you have to do is believe that promise. Confess your sins and give yourself to God. As you do this God will fulfil His word to you and in you. If you believe the promise- believe that you are forgiven and cleansed. Do not wait to feel that you are made whole, but say, I believe it; it is so, not because I feel it, but because God has promised.
Jesus says, “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them” Mark 11:24.
God gave us His son Jesus by whose blood we are saved and cleansed from our sins. When we pray the devil might try to accuse us of our sins , but we are blessed because the blood of Jesus speaks for us and it speaks better things than the blood of Abel, and it speaks louder than what the accuser has to say about us and the sins that we may be accused of .
All we have to do is to take the burden of sin before the Lord and He will know what to do with the load before us. His grace and love for us is amazing, nothing will keep us from the love of the Lord.
God has bound our hearts to Him by unnumbered tokens in heaven and earth. Through the things of nature, and the deepest and tenderest earthly ties that human hearts can know, He has sought to reveal Himself to us. Yet these but imperfectly represent His love. Though all these evidences have been given, the enemy of good blinded the minds of men, so that they looked down upon God with fear, they thought of God as severe and unforgiving.
Satan falsely led men to conceive of God as a being whose chief attribute is stern justice – one who is a severe judge, a harsh exacting creditor , this is why God gave us His son Jesus to die for us and pay the price for our sins so that God’s love may be shown to the whole world.
Who are we then to Pray and call on God
1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.
The Bible clearly tells us who we are : the verse above does state that we are the sons of God
God made mankind in His image , and He breathed His breath into us as mankind implying that we carry the breathe of God in us
Psalm 82:6 then goes on to tell us that we are gods…. Some might dispute that but if God is our Father and He calls us His sons then what are we if not children of God? Will a human being father a whale?
We are the apple of God’s eye, His beloved redeemed by His son , John 3:16 goes on to say : For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
When you go before God’s throne of grace in prayer, you are going to a Father who loves us so much and has already given us all things, as long as we believe in Him.
3. Types of prayer
In this section we shall explore the types of prayer, when and how to use each type of prayer.
1. Corporate Prayer / Agreement prayer
In the Bible Matthew 18 : 19 “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven”. Jesus said that where two or more are gathered in His name there He shall be also. It also states that which is bound on earth is also bound in Heaven.
This then becomes the strength of a corporate prayer or an agreement prayer. This prayer can be done by two or more people, when they agree on a desired outcome, or a reason to jointly offer a petition to God. This type of prayer is effective in the sense that
1. It promotes unity among brethren,
2. The parties can lean on each other’s faith in order to receive a divine intervention
3. Where 2 or more are gathered in Jesus’ name there He will be also giving a potency and divine presence around the prayer
2. The Prayer of dedication of consecration and dedication
In Luke 22:41 – 42 And He (Jesus) was withdrawn from them (Peter, James and John) about a stone’s throw and He knelt down and prayed, saying ‘Father if it your will, take this cup away from me ; nevertheless not my will but Yours be done.”’
The prayer of dedication or consecration says you will allow God to set your direction or make the decisions. This prayer allows God to pick and decide what is best for you in light of many options that you might be faced with.
The prayer of dedication and consecration is a prayer that gives control and the final decision over a matter. When you say this prayer God will show you His will and His will will be done indeed no matter the situation or time frame or whatever circumstance you might be faced with. When you say this pray you will never go wrong, God will intervene and show you the right path.
3. The Prayer of intercession
Ephesians 1:15-18 Therefore I also after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints , do not cease to give thanks for you , making mention of you in my prayers ; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ , the Father of glory may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him , the eyes of your understanding being enlightened ; that you may know what is the hoe of His calling , what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”
In this scripture the Apostle Paul was interceding for the Ephesians. He makes it clear that he prayed regularly for the church at Ephesus and for the individuals to there to receive these blessings. He does not set himself in agreement with anyone, so this is a good example of an intercessory prayer. Intercession means that you are interceding – acting in prayer on behalf of someone else. The person may be incapable of praying for himself.
Intercession involves praying for others. It may involve praying in a general way for such things as the church or the government or offering up more specific prayers based on the knowledge of a person’s need.
4. The prayer of binding
Matthew 18: 18-19 “Assuredly I say unto whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
This is a powerful passage that empowers a prayer warrior to stand and battle in prayer for a desired outcome. Notice that according to this scripture things are bound on earth first and then bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven as well.
Also notice that this verse does also demonstrates that we have authority through Jesus Christ, authority to bind and loose things.
This prayer works in line with God’s word. You can bind evil spirits. Binding and loosing things has to be done under the authority that you have, given to you through the grace of the Father.
5. Prayer of Faith
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them.”
The scripture tells us to believe, the moment we ask in belief, and then we will receive those things which we ask for. God is a kind and loving Father who grants us our requests. When we pray He answers us immediately.
However, there are delays that we have to battle; there are spirits of stagnation, of delay, of disappointments and several other things that will delay the result from manifesting from the spiritual to the physical realm.
In the Bible, Jesus healed people and often told them that according to your Faith. While it was the Power of God working through Jesus, Jesus credited the miracles to the faith of the people to whom the power had been displayed and had worked in their lives.
When Jesus went to Nazareth He did not do much works there (Matthew 13:58) Jesus never lost His power in Nazareth. The people did not believe. God will not do something against your will, you have to believe that He will do it for you and it will be done according to your faith.
6. Fire Prayers
1 Kings 18:24 You are the God that answers by fire, Exodus 14:24 Let Your fire protect and cover me, Psalm 106:18 Let Your flame burn up wicked spirits
Fire prayers are prayers that are offered up to God, to provoke that He answer by fire. These are prayers that are used mostly in spiritual warfare. The Bible does state that we do not fight with flesh and blood but we fight against principalities and powers.
Fire prayers are the type of prayers that transform situations especially when you feel like you are under demonic or spiritual attacks. Fire prayers can also be used to reverse curses and spells cast upon people by agents of the kingdom of darkness or reverse spiritual ties.
There are several scriptures that can be quoted and offered up with a fire prayer. Such as Psalm 97:3, Luke 3:16, Jeremiah 23:29, Hebrews 1:7, Deuteronomy 7:5
Living a life of Prayer
Psalm 34:12–15 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and keep your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry .
If you are going to rely on prayer to become the best person that God made you to be then you need to live a life of prayer. These 4 things are a basic start to living a life of prayer
keep your tongue from evil
Keep your lips from telling lies.
Turn from evil and do good ;
Seek peace and pursue it.
Living a life of prayer enables God to act when you pray or call to Him as your Father. The scripture above gives us a guideline of some of the basic things we can focus on in order for God to hear our prayers and act speedily as and when we call to Him.
You cannot live a life that pleases the devil and yet expect God to be the first to answer when you call.
Answered prayers come from a day to day life that acknowledges God as the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Humanity acknowledges God through walking in His light as you live. The words of your mouth, the nature and texture of your heart and character are a reflection of who lives in you and who influences the decisions you make and how you live your life.
When you live right, you live in God’s word and in His way. When you pray God hears and answers because a faithful child has called unto Him. When you live a life that pleases Him, His ear will be upon you when you are broken hearted He will be close to you. The righteous person may have many troubles but the Lord delivers Him from them all, He protects His bones and none of them will be broken. Evil will slay the wicked.
It is my hope and prayer, that as we seek to live a life of answered prayer, we live a life of prayer and a life of prayer is a life that pleases God, a life that draws God closer to His children and their calls on Him.
4. Prayers that will change your life
Prayer to break soul ties: A number of people who have had an active sexual life, do not know that they are bound by soul ties that come from sexual activities. When you have sexual intercourse you become one with a person and spiritual you create soul ties that bind you to each other. Some have spiritual ties from joining occults, or other spiritual activities that leave you linked to the devil and the powers of darkness.
Here is a prayer that will help break soul ties
Prayer 1: Father in the name of Jesus, I repent on behalf of myself and those in my family line who has had sexual relations with anyone out of wedlock, or with evil spirits, familiar spirits, with incubus, succubus spirits, and the demon Mare. I renounce and break any covenants or dedications to the Nephilim, Baal, or Belial.
I repent for anyone in my family line who has had connections, ties, pacts, or allegiances to the Harlot spirit. I repent for all who participated in any fertility rites or rituals, and who sacrificed, worshipped and danced before, or gave offerings to any gods or goddesses.
Lord I repent for myself and all those in my family line who had spiritual husbands/wives. Lord forgive us for rejecting You as our husband and forgive us for our unfaithfulness towards You. Forgive us for finding comfort from these spirits and for looking to them to fulfil our desires and needs. I choose to rely upon You and to trust in you for everything I need. Please restore my joy and faithfulness to Jesus Christ, the bridegroom.
Lord I repent for every contact, personal and generational with all night-husbands and night wives and I renounce all night husbands and wives which have been assigned to function specifically in my life and in my family. I repent of the blood covenants which opened the door to this family night-husband and wife. I cut every soul tie with these spirits. I repent of the deception adopted by my ancestors that polygamy is acceptable and for the deception which was one of the ways in which the door was opened to incubus and succubus and Mara.
Prayer 2 : Father in the name of Jesus , I repent for those in my family line who were involved in astral travel , dark practices such as the occult, new age practices . I repent for any involvement with witches, sorcerers, megistellus, or familiar spirits. I renounce all night spells, charms enchantments or allurements used by witches and warlocks at night. I renounce any positions, possessions, powers or any secret knowledge that have come from darkness . Please close all ungodly pathways, gateways, portals, cracks, or seams into ungodly realms or the underworld. Remove all defilement and tainting, and as your child, please restore my godly dreams from heavenly places.
I repent for myself or any of my ancestors who have visited sangomas, witches, or warlocks for their “love witchcraft”. I repent of buying, accepting, and using their love portions. I repent of rituals performed, innovations offered up, and nay using of baths, washes, charms and psychic prayers. I repent of having my body rubbed with ungodly ceremonial liquids or allowing commercial liquids to be poured over my body.
I repent for the breaking of marriages, covenants, divorces and the destroyed relationships that resulted from having relations with these spirits. I ask that you would break off from me and my family line all false love, lust, hatred, impotency, frigidity, sickness and disease that have been caused by these spirits.
Prayer 3 Father in the name of Jesus, I repent on behalf of myself and my family line for all fornication, adultery, incest, orgies, sodomy, homosexuality, and sexual addiction. I repent for all pornography, rape, abuse, ungodly masturbation, lust, and fantasy lust and any ungodly sexual contact with other people, any bestiality, and all sexual perversion and sex for money.
I repent on behalf of myself and my family line for shedding innocent blood through abortion and human sacrifices, I repent of murder , pride, greed, rage, hate, jealousy , pretence , falseness , cursing and lying. Father on behalf of myself and family line I repent of having been involved in acts that showed worship and obedience to Satan and his demons through having sexual relations outside of marriage. Lord, forgive us for not following your commands.
In the Name of Jesus I renounce all ungodly soul ties with every person I have been sexually involved with, physically, spiritually. Father I ask You to break these souls ties from my spirit, mind and my body. Break in Jesus Name.
Father I repent for allowing these evil spirits to reduce and control my will. I now choose to put my spirit, will, emotions, mind and body under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Now in the name of Jesus Christ I renounce and demand the demons incubus, succubus, incubi, succubi, eldonna and mare to come out of my body, physical and spiritual conscious, and sub conscious and unconscious mind. I break off these spirits from my tongue, hands, fingers, breasts, sexual organs or any part of my body.
I will no longer serve these demon spirits. I renounce Satan and all his works. I stand in the authority that I have as a believer, and in the name of Jesus I cast out any spirits that have been residing in my body.
I command all confusion to leave and I call back all parts that have been scattered or fragmented.
Father, please forgive me, wash me and cleanse me and I ask You to restore my innocence. Please increase my love for You and give me the ability to be truly faithful and intimate with You.
Prayers that break down evil altars
Witch doctors and other practitioners of dark magic set up altars from which they worship they devil, cast spells, curses and do other evil things to ruin another human being’s life. (Hebrews 12:29 For our god is a consuming fire…..) It is important therefore that we pray for the destruction of these altars.
Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus, I glorify your name because of Your son Jesus who has setup an everlasting altar with his blood for me. Father, I thank you because of the blood of Jesus that speaks better things for me, my family and all my loved ones. Father I know the devil has setup his own evil altars to work against Your will upon my life.
Father in the name of Jesus I ask you to rebuke every evil spirit, every evil priest operating these evil altars. I pray my Father that You may send the fire of the Holy Spirit to consume and destroy these evil altars.
Father, because of the high Priest that is Jesus Christ who defeated the devil at the cross , I declare the altars of the devil setup against me, against my family, and all my loved ones , I declare these altars as defeated , and powerless over my life and those of my family line.
Father in the name of Jesus I destroy all evil altars of inability, of poverty, sickness, death, divorce , broken homes and broken marriages, every evil altar in the sea, on the rocks, on walls, mountains and in the spiritual realm . Father I destroy these in the name of Jesus. I also withdraw my name and the file of my life from every evil altar in the name of Jesus and by the precious blood that was spilt for me at the cross of Calvary. Father if there is anything that I owe to the evil altars or evil spirits I ask that the blood of Jesus my pay for me right now, that I may be redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
I decree and I declare in the name of Jesus that I am a child of God purchased by the blood of Jesus and from n0w on everything shall work together for my good because I choose to love you Lord, and worship you in the name of Jesus I pray.

Father in the name of Jesus I invite You to take charge of this body and turn it into Your temple, and may I be healed in Your presence.

Prayer for Wealth
God gives us the power and wisdom to create, gather and maintain wealth. This prayer will catapult you to a new level of wealth creation.
Father in the name of Jesus I ask that you may let my season of divine intervention appear in the name of Jesus, Father may you command the gates standing against my destiny , lift up my head Father in the name of Jesus.
Father I ask for wisdom and strength to gather up wealth that I may have a better life and be able to provide for myself, my family, and the poor that You have placed within my reach.
Father without Your hand, without Your intervention nothing of mine will work towards gathering wealth. Father the ruler of this world wants me to divert my attention from You to him in search of wealth and I choose to rely on You Father. I choose to give you Your place in my life as my provider, my shelter and my hope.
Father You created all the silver and gold, You are the source of all wisdom and intelligence, I ask that You may grant me a portion of intelligence and wisdom that is sufficient for me to gather wealth for my family, my community and those around me. Father I speak against the spirit of delay, I cancel the plans of the enemy upon my finances, my business, my destiny and all things connected to my wealth. Father I ask You to bless the work of my hands and allow me to move to the next level of wealth. Father do not allow me to be put to shame and do not allow me to be conquered by the spirit of poverty, debt, or mediocrity. In You I declare that I am the head and not the tail. By your grace I declare that my life will no longer be the same.
Father teach me to give, to share , and to multiply the resources You give me and grant me a faithful spirit to return tithes and offerings back to You , in the name of Jesus Christ I pray my Father.
Some Prayers found in the Bible
Prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10)
Oh that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil that I may be free from pain.
Prayer of David for repentance (Psalm 51)
The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 7:9-13)
5. Final Word
The good life comes from a God life, and a God life is a life of prayer, a life in prayer and the life itself is a prayer.
When we live in prayer we live in communion with angels, and we live at peace with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Living God. Whatsoever we might desire to have, God has already provided. In His infinite mercy He gave us his son Jesus. If the Lord gave us Jesus what could stop us from receiving good health, forgiveness of sins, and protection among other things that we might desire to have in our daily lives.
God has called us to an inheritance that is incorruptible, all we have to do is believe in Him, live in Him and let Him live through us, and all things shall be added unto us.
Lastly when we pray be mindful of 3 things
Thoughts in your mind – what are you thinking about before you pray and when you pray , are the thoughts on your mind of God or of man’s sinful nature , are these thoughts conducive for your discussion with God ? It is useful to always have a mind that meditates on God and His goodness , this will help make prayer more potent and effective
Desire of the heart – what is your heart desiring, is it in God’s will or the nature and character of Jesus. Our heart’s desires must always be in line with the will of the Father, as this is the greatest sacrifice we can make. Giving the Father your desires and your will is giving Him ultimate control over one’s life.
Know the feelings in your heart (emotions) – as you approach God in prayer what emotions are in your heart, and will they affect your prayer? Are you angry, sad, confused, excited, what emotion is ruling you and is it of God or is it of man’s sinful flesh?
When we take cognisance of these 3 things our prayers become more effective. Talking to God is different from talking to self. If our hearts are not in the right place, if our desires are not in line with God’s will, and if our emotions are not of God then we are practically talking to ourselves and not the King of Heaven.
God searches the heart, and His word says be ye Holy for He is Holy. As we approach Him in prayer let us ensure that we give our hearts, the desires of our hearts and our emotions to God. The more we strive to be pure in heart, the more we become like Him, the more we take after His nature and the more we become conscious in the spiritual realm.
Final word to you dear reader is from Matthew 7:15 – 23
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognise them. Do people pick grapes from thorn-bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus by their fruit you will recognise them.
Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day “Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me you evildoers!”
May God guide us, and grant us the spirit of discernment in these dangerous days.
It is my hope and prayer that this book helps somebody in their prayer walk with God Almighty.
