Green Orb

Catapulted, ripping through this spatial sky
with full force, imparting a shrilling
thunder, declaring it’s approach.

Somersaulting in the air, piercing the earth’s skin as she reacts--screaming from her gaping wound.
Shielding my eyes from shards of emerald light
envisaged, temporarily blinding me.

Embedded in the roots of terra firma this orb
stripped away all the hitchhikers,
from a place far off who clung to it for life.

Masking the sight of winter’s estate,
beautiful jade from garden to gate.
Allowing all who see some hope, a glimpse
of spring so they can cope.

Oh spring! You are a lovely goddess with
long cascading, luscious, tresses as fluid
as water flowing downstream.

Colors so vibrant, thrown before me,
taking my breath away; such enchantment
for the eyes.

Escorting winter through the seasonal door,
you open your welcoming arms.
Releasing perfumed bouquets with sheer
abandonment, leaving me in awe.
