I was at home with Zane and Peace. Peace was in her bedroom playing, Zane and I were in the living room watching a movie. Peace came down the stairs. "I want to go to the park and play with my friends. Can we go please?" Peace asked.

"We will go in a few minutes. This movie is almost over." I told her.

"But you guys have seen this movie like ten gazillion times already and my friends are there now."

"Well you're just going to have to wait. Now be quite please, so we can finish the movie." Peace rolled her eyes and went back up to her room.

About twenty-five minutes later I go upstairs to go see if Peace was ready to go to the park. When I got to her door I heard her talking with someone. I opened the door and no one was in her room with her. "Who were you just talking to sweetie?" I asked her.

"I wasn't talking to anyone." She told me.

"I heard you talking with someone in here. You best not be lying to me."

"I'm not lying. I was talking to myself."

I didn't know if I should belive her or not.

I thought to myself. "Come on we are going to the park now. Get your shoes on and then come on down stairs."

"Ok." She said smiling at me.

I went down stairs and told Zane what I heard from Peace's room. "She could have an imaginary friend." He told me.

"That could be true, but she is nine years old now. Why would she have an imaginary friend?"

"She is a weird child sometimes." Zane said laughing. Peace comes down the stairs then.

"Ok, Sally and I are ready to go to the park now." She told us with her favorite doll in her arms.

"Just make sure you don't lose Sally. Ok?" I told her.

"You know that I won't lose her. She is my favorite doll and she is always by my side."

All I chould do about that comment was smile at her. Zane opened the door so we could go out before him and he could lock the door behind us. Then we started walking to the park. Peace was holding Zane's hand. She loved her big brother so very much. It has been only the two of them since Zane what eighteen. Until I met them three years ago and I have been with them since then. They are like my family now. My real family and I never really go along that well, so when I was seventeen I ran away from home.

We finally go to the park, as soon as Peace seen her friends she ran toward them. I pulled Zane toward a bench so we could sit and talk, but we made sure that we could still see Peace. "She looks so happy. Don't you think so?" I said.

"Yeah she does." Zane said.

"What do you want me to do with her tomorrow, Since you have to go to work?"

"I have no clue Leara. Do what you think will be fun for you guys. Oh and make sure she eats, please. She really hadn't been eating much. It's really worring me."

"She doesn't really seem like she has fun with me at all. I'll make her favorite food. So don't worry babe."

"Leara, she is just not use to you doing things with her alone. I'm usually there with you two. I know she loves you. Ok, my Love."

"Yeah, ok."

I hope she will get use to it soon, but sometimes when I'm alone she really gives me a weird felling. It might just be me. I really want to tell Zane about it, but I'm afraid he might get mad at me.

I thought to myself. I looked at Peace to make sure she was ok, and she was sitting on the slide talking with all of her friends. "I feel like I'm the black sheep in this family." I told Zane.

"You're not the black sheep of the family." He said.

"I'm different than both you guys. I don't even know how you can love me at all."

"Yeah, Love you maybe different, but that's what makes you, you. Don't worry about it. I have always loved you from the very first day I seen you."

"How can you love someone like me?"

"Just because you're different than we are doesn't mean that we don't love you with all of our hearts."

"Yeah, but I'm gothic. All your friends hate me."

"Don't worry about them. I'm with you because I want to be, not for them."

I didn't know what to say about that, so I started crying. No one in my whole life has ever been so nice and sweet to me as Zane and Peace are. I'm so happy that I have them in my life now. Why am I always like this? I hate this side of me. I feel such like a baby.

I thought to myself.

It was about an hour later and I finally stopped crying, but I feel so bad about breaking down like that. "Are you feeling better now, Leara?" Zean asked me.

"Yeah I feel a little bit better now. I'm sorry for that."

"If you want want we can go and get some ice cream, but that's up to you."

"Yeah that would be cool. I'll go get Peace if you want?"

"Go ahead and get her."

"Ok, babe." I said smiling sweetly at him.

I got up and walked toward Peace and her friends. They were on the swings. "Peace, sweet heart can you come over here for a minute, pleace?" She got up and came over to me.

"Would you like to get some ice cream with Zane and me?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I would love to get some ice cream." She said with a huge smile on her face.

"Ok, then sweetie. Go and tell your friends that you'll be back later."

She ran over to her friends and told them that she will be back in about fifteen to twenty minutes. She came back over to me and grabbed my hand. When she did that I was so happy. We walked over to Zane and he smiled at Peace.

We walked to the ice cream stand, it took us about ten minutes. Zane went to get our cones. Peace and I went to the picinic table to wait for him. About five minutes later he was walking toward us with our cones. Peace got vanilla, Zane got chocolate, and I got strawberry. "How do you llike your ice cream Peace?" I asked her.

"It is super yummy and delicious. Vanilla is my favorite." She told me.

"Yeah, I can tell by the way you're eating it." I said laughing at her.

She smiles up at me with ice cream all over her face. She looks so cute like that.

I thought to myself. "You do know that you have ice cream all over your face don't you?" I asked her.

"Yes I do. I was saving that for later." Peace said laughing.

"OK, just making sure you did. Don't forget to eat it before we get back to the park."

"Oh don't worry I will."

About forty-five to an hour later we went back to the park. Peace's friends were still there. "Ok, now you have fun with your friends and play nice." Zane said to his little sister.

"I will bubby. Don't worry and thanks for the ice cream." Peace said while walking away.

"She is a hand full sometimes, but you've got to love her." I told Zane.

"Yeah she is, but at least she listens to me when I tell her to do something." He said.

"Mmm, when do you get off work tomorrow?"

"I think I'll be home around five thirty or so."

"Ok, I think I'm going to go take Peace shopping, if that's ok with you."

"Yeah that's fine. She really does need new clothes."

. . .

I ran up to my friends. They were all still sitting on the swings. Brendan waved at me when he seen me. I waved back. I have a crush on him, but he is also one of my best friends. I was going to as him to go out with me, but if I did Zane would be mad.

"Hey guys, I'm back, what have you been up to?" I asked.

"We were talking but, other than that nothing really. We were about to play obstacle course. Would you like to play?" Brendan asked me.

"Yeah, that sounds like fun." I smiled at him.

"Ok, we are going to break up into teams. Ok?"

"Ok." Everyone yelled.

"Sue and Mike are together, Kim and John are together, Nina and Micah are together and Peace and I will be together. Ok?"

Everyone was ok with that except Nina, but she did not show it. The only way I know is because she mouths 'help me' and she told me that she really likes Micah. But she was to shy to say anything to him. She didn't even like being around him, when she is she gets all red. I think she can handle this. "Ok, now that everyone has a partner we can start. First, you have to go up the slides backward, second, you go across the monkey bars, third, you walk across the swings, last but not least you have to jump to the circle rings and do a flip, and you have to do all of this without touching the grown, but if you do you have to start all over. What ever team has the best time wins." Brendan said smiling at me.

"Which team want to go first?" I asked.

Micah was the first one to raise his hand, so we got him set up so he could go. Then a Creepy Woman started walking over towards us. "Brendan there is a creepy woman walking towards up." I said.

"We can go and see what she wants?" He said.

"Yeah, ok. Just as long as you go with me."

"Ok, I'll go with you."

We walked over to the creepy woman. She was stairing at me and she was giving me a very creepy feeling. "Excuse me, Miss? Do you need something?" I asked her.

"Yes, there is. I wanted to know if you were here with someone?" The Creepy Woman asked.

"Yes, I'm here with my big brother and his girlfriend."

"Ok, Thats good. Do you know your parents, Little One?"

"All I know is that my daddy died when I was only a baby. I don't know what happened to my mommy."

"Well, Little One, I know where you mother is. If you would like I can take you to her?"

"Yes, please I want to go see my mommy."

"Ok. My name is Ms. Trotter."

"Brendan don't tell Zane what I'm doing. I'll try and be back before he knows I'm not here." I told Brendan

"Ok, I won't say anything, but if you not back in an hour I'm going to tell him."

"Ok."

Ms. Trotter started walking away. I ran after her. I can't wait to see my mommy again. I really don't remember much about her. I was about five when I last seen her.

I thought to myself. I keep smiling all the way to the old house Ms. Trotter stopped in front of. "Ok. Little One, we are here. She said.

We walked in to the house and I finally got to see my mommy. She was a pretty as I remember her.

. . .

"Zane, it's been about an hour, do you want to go check on Peace or do you want me too." I asked him.

"I'll go check on her this time. I'll be right back." He said.

I watched him get up and walk over to Peace's friends. He was talking to some boy and the instent Zane turned around I know something was worng. I got up and hurried over to him. "Whats worng?" I asked him.

"I was talking with Brendan and he said that Peace went off with some woman named Ms. Trotter."

"Oh my god. Why would she do that?"

"The woman told Peace that she knew our mom."

"What, I thought your mom left you two when she was about five."

"She did."

Zane got out his cell phone and called the cops. "911, What's your emergency?" The operator said.

"Yes, my nine year old sister was kidnapped by a woman named Ms. Trotter." Zane told them.

"Ok, Sr when was the last time you seen her, what did she look like, and what was she wearing?"

"She was wearing her blue puppy dog shirt with blue jeans and tennishoes. She is a brunette, it's a little longer than her shoulders. She has Lime Green eyes, about average height and weight. She also has her favorite doll with her too."

"Ok, don't worry we will do all we can to find her."

"Thank You."

"Your welcome."

When Zane got off the phone I started crying. Oh god please let her be ok. I thought to myself. We started to walk home. We didn't say anything as we walked. Finally we got home. "Babe, are you ok?" I asked Zane.

"No, all I had to do what watch Peace. I'm a horrable big brother." He said.

"No you're not. The woman told Peace that she knew her mother. Don't worry the cops said that they will do what ever they can to find her."

"I'm can't just sit around here while Peace is out there."

"Well, your going to have to, cause what if Peace comes back and we aren't here."

"I'll only sit and wait for a while. I'm just so worried about her."

"I know Love, I'm worried about her too."

I hate that we can't do anything right now. I really hope nothing bad is going to happen to her.

I thought to myself. We sat on the couch just waiting for the cops to call. Zane keep walking around the living room and watching the phone, with hope in his eyes. I felt so depressed.

After about a week or two, Zane decided that he would go out and look for her. He was tired of just waiting for the cops to find her. He left the house to check around the park, where she was last. "Be careful and make sure that if you find something you call me right away. Ok?" I told him.

"I will don't worry. I'll be back shortly, just don't leave the houes when I'm gone."

"You know I won't." I kissed him and then he left.

. . .

As I walked down the street going back to the park I was thinking. What if they never find her, or what if they do and she is dead. I wouldn't be able to handle that. She is my only sister and it was my job as a big brother to watch her and keep her safe, but I failed.

I started running now, going toward the park with that tought in my mind.

I finally got the park. I really didn't know were to start, so I just tried to retrace her steps. I headed toward the jungle gym. I looked around the slid, to check and see if Peace came back or left something, that the police might have missed. As I so that all I had on my mind was my little sister, Peace.

I found nothing by the slid so I went by the swing and sitting on Peace's favorite swing was her doll, Sally and there was something on her. I walked over to Sally and then I seen what it was. It's a note that's in Peace's hand writing. It read:

Dear Zane and Leara,

I know that you must be worried about me. I knew that you would come looking for me, so I had Ms. Trotter got back to the park and leave Sally and the note that I wort for you. I'm so sorry that I've been gone for so long. I thought that I would be back by now, but I'm with mommy. I'll try and be home as soon as I can. I'm sorry and I love you both very much.

With Love,
Peace

As I read I started crying. Why is she doing this? She should just come home and be done with this.

I thought to myself. I got out my cell and called Leara. It rang three times but she didn't answer and that made me worry. I thrusted my phone back in my pocket and ran all the way back home.

I was getting really tired of running, then I seen the house so I ran faster to get there. I got to the door and there was another note. As soon as I seen it my heart dropped. I grabbed the note and slamed the door open.

. . .

I heard Zane coming into the house and banging the door open. Then I heard him yelling my name. So I yelled back. "I'm up here in the attic, cleaning it out." He ran up the stairs and as soo as he came in the room I knew something was wrong, very wrong. I got up and walked over to him. "Whats wrong Zane?" I asked.

"I went to the park to look for anything and I found this." He said, holding Sally and a note.

"Let me see that note." I grabbed it and read it. I started crying. "Ohmigod! Why is she doing this?" I asked.

"I don't know." He told me.

"Have you ever heard of a Ms. Trotter before?"

"No, I haven't. By the way why are you up here and why didn't you answer you phone?"

"I came up here to do some cleaning to keep my mind busy. I'm sorry I left it down stairs."

"Thats ok, I just thought that some thing happened to and when I got to the door, there was a note on it." Zane held the note out to me. I looked at the note first and it wasn't any hand writing I reconized. So I read it out loud. "To Leara, This is Ms. Trotter. We have meet before but you might not remember me. I haven't seen you since you were just a little thing. I'll make sure Peace is looked after well."

"What is going on? I didn't know that you knew her."

"Neither did I."

This is not good."

"Yeah. Let me have your cell, so I can call my mother."

"Ok."

I got the phone from him and dieled my mom's number. "Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, mom it's me, Leara."

"I haven't heard from you in three years or so."

"Yeah, I'm sorry that I haven't called you in along time. I have a question to ask you."

"Yeah what is is?"

"Do you know a Ms. Trotter?"

"Well yeah I should know her, she is my younger sister."

"What really, then why haven't I met her before."

"You have, but you were only about four. Then she had to go away for along time.
Why are you asking?"

"She has my boyfriend's little sister. She said that she knew her mother."

"What's your boyfirend's name?"

"Zane Williams."

"Williams sounds familiar. What is his mother's name"

"Hold on I'll ask."

"Ok."

"Hey, Zane what is your mother's name? Mine wants to know."

"Her name is Cici Williams, but her maiden name is Stevens." He told me.

"Ok, mom his mother's name is Cici Williams and her maiden name is Stevens."

"Ohmigod. We do know her. We use to go to school with her and her husband."

"Do you know why Ms. Trotter would take her?"

"It had something to do with Cici and James's secret. Tell Zane to look in his
mother and father's stuff. There should be something in there and your aunts name is Carrie."

"Ok, thank you mom. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, baby, it was nice to talking to you again. I love and miss you."

"I love and miss you too. bye-bye." I said while rolling my eyes. I closed the phone and handed it back to Zane.

"So what did she say to you?" Zane asked me.

"She told me that Ms. Trotter is my Aunt Carrie and that you should look in your parents stuff. There is some kind of secret and that's why she took Peace. Oh, her and my mother when to school with you parents." I told him.

We started looking through his parents stuff. We found a bunch of pictures but other than that we really didn't find anything. Luckly, after about an hour or so, I found a huge old trunk that was marked 'KEEP OUT!'

"Zane come here I think I found something." I yelled at him.

"What is it?"

"It's an old trunk." I showed him.

"Wow, I remember this from when I was littler." He tried to open it, but it wouldn't open. Then I seen that it had a lock on it.

"Zane there is a lock on the trunk."

"Oh, well that might be why it wouldn't open." He said laughing. He looks through another box and found a key that looked like it would go to the trunk. He put the key is and turnded it. The trunk popped opened. I came up to Zane next to the trunk, looking inside it and what cought my eye was a little blue journal that was half way covered by some kind of cloth.

I reached into the box and grabed it and read the first page. It really freaked me out, so I handed it to Zane. He took it from my hands and started flipping thourghd the pages. He got a weird look on his face. "What is it?" I asked.

"I found an intrey that has to do with Peace." He told me.

"Well read it then."

So he read. "It is June twenty-eighth. I just had a baby boy. He is so beautiful. I named him Sam James Williams. Then after waiting ninty-five minutes the nurse came in and told me that he had died. I started crying, but the nurse told me that there was a woman that just had a baby girl and she didn't want her. So I asked her if I was able to have her since my son and that baby was born on the same day. She said that it should be ok, just as long as no one finds out. I was so happy that I told her to bring me the baby as soon as possible. She did and I named her Peace Angel Williams. I was told that her real mother's name is..." He stopped reading.

"Why did you stop? Who is her real mother?" I asked.

"It just cut off right there. It doesn't say who it is, but I'm guessing that this is a good start. Then it jumps to were we use to live."

"Do you think that your mother could of left something there that might lead us to who Peace's real mother is?"

"I don't know, but it won't hurt to look."

"I can't believe that she really isn't your sister."

"It doesn't matter if we are related by blood or not, she is my sister." I smiled at him. I'm so glad that he says that she is still his sister no matter what. I thought to myself. As we walked down I couldn't get Peace out of my mind. Zane called a cab and it took the cab about five minutes to get here. I went out the door and Zane came out behind me locking the door. "Where do you want to do?" The cabbie asked.

"Can you take us to 645 Ashland St?"

"Yeah, sure thing." The cabbie took off. We road all the way there in complete silence. I really didn't like it cause I had a million questions in my head that I wanted to ask Zane, but I didn't think he was up to any questions right now. I think all he as on his mind is his sister and the news he just found out.

Thank god we are finally here. I thought to myself. We got out of the cab and walked up to the door and on the door there was a sign that said 'KEEP OUT!'

and at the bottom of the sign was a signature. It said: Ms. Carrie Trotter. Zane tried the door handle and the door just swung right open. It was dark and really creepy looking inside. Zane started walking in and I had a second thought about going in.

Zane looked back at me and held out his hand. I grabbed it and went in after him. We walked around down stairs and found nothing, so we headed up stairs. We found Peace in her old room. As soon as Peace seen us she ran over and hugged us both and we hugged her back. "We have been so worried about you, Sweetie. I said.

"I know, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to make you worry, but I met my mommy. Do you want to meet her?" She said.

"Yes, we would love to meet your mother."

"Mommy come here. Zane and Leara are here." Peace yelled out the door, and the person that walked in was my Aunt Carrie.

"This is my mommy. I didn't know that until she told me the second day I was here with her."

"Hi, Aunt Carrie. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm fine and yourself?" She said.

"I'm good. Why did you tell Peace that you were her mother?"

"Becuse, I am her mother. I had her on June twenty-eighth, but back then I didn't want her, so I gave her up to a woman that lost her son. Then I just found out that I gave her to Cici Williams, so I knew were to find her. I have been looking for her for the past six years."

"Why did you start looking for her when she was three?"

"Because I found out that I have cancer and the doctors tried everything on me, but it did nothing. Today is my last day before I die." Carrie started crying and so did Peace. I walked over to her and gave her a hug and held her. "I'm sorry that I took her, but I really wanted to see her before I died. The reason why I gave her up was becuse I knew that I couldn't take care of her back then."

"I'm so sorry to here that, but you really should of just asked. I'm sure Zane would let you see her." I said while walking over to her to give her a hug.

"I'm sorry againg." She said with tears in her eyes. "God, you look so much like your mother. You have such pretty long black hair and why did you put blue highlights in? I've always envied your mother because of her smokey gray eyes and now you have them too." She said while stroking my hair.

"Mom and I never really got along, so when I was seventeen I ran away. Tonight was the first night I talked to her."

"Oh, I'm sorry my dear." She walked over to Zane and looked him in the face.

"Zane, you look so much like you dad. You're so well built" She said as she patted his face.

"Thanks, Carrie." He answered her.

"I must go lay down now. I think my time is up. Please take her out of here before I'm gone from this world." Pointing at Peace. I noded my head and went to go grab her, but she ran right after Carrie into her room. I ran after Peace to stop her from what she was about to see, but I was too late. She was in Carrie's room shaking her but she would not move. I walked over to Peace.

"That's enough Peace. She's gone. Stop!" I yelled at her as I grabbed her. She started cring again and hide her face in my chest. I stroked her hair as Zane walks in.

"I have called the cops and told them that we found her. I also told them to come here and get Carrie." He told me.

"You did tell them that she is no longer part of this world. Didn't you?" I aske him.

"Yes, I did. Come on, lets get Peace out of here."

"Ok." I picked her up. As we left the house I was thinking. I'm glad to have Peace back, but I'm so very sorry that my Aunt Carrie died.

We walked home, cause I thought fresh air would do us some good and hopfully calme Peace down. It did, she was asleep by the time we got home. I walked up stairs and put her to bed. Zane handed me Sally, I tucked her in right besides Peace.

A week later we had a funeral for Carrie. She was my aunt and Peace's mother. I invited my mother to it, since she was Carrie's older sister. She was not as bad as she use to be. When it was over we went home and went to bed. After that we never looked back or talked about it again, because if we did that would put Peace into a very depressed mood. Peace slept with us for about six months after Carrie died.
