This book will teach you everything you need to know about MacOS 11, including requirements, features, and how to install the latest release in the MacOS line.

On June 22, 2020, Apple unveiled its newest MacOS 11, to replace its popular OS X (see MacOS 10.x) at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The annual event, which is usually held in California for about a week, is aimed at developers throughout the world, but the Worldwide Developers Conference 2020 took a different approach; it was the first occasion when it was held solely online and, furthermore, disclosed to the public.

Good news for desktop users! It's a relief to finally replace the venerable OS X/MacOS 10.x code with the new 11.0 base. This goes beyond the numerical change; it encompasses a whole host of new features, ease of use updates to existing applications, and lots more!

On November 12, 2020, Apple announced the much-anticipated Big Sur, planning it with the arrival of its latest M1 system-on-a-chip."Big Sur is designed, down to its center, to exploit all the capacity and might of M1, conveying a huge lift in execution, shocking battery life, and surprisingly more grounded security insurance," Apple said in its official statement.

The updates for MacOS Big Sur will affect all the new features and updates available throughout the life cycle of the OS to be in line with all the latest information to bring you to speed on all things about MacOS 11.
