Chapter 1

One early morning Lone Wolf woke up to a beautiful morning, he put his blanket on his horse and he was on his way to where ever his horse took him. It was probably around nine in the morning when he came to a town in Colorado, Denver. He didn't know how long he was going to stay, so he booked into a hotel. He got off his horse and tied it up to a post and walked inside the hotel.

"What can I do for you sir," asked the porter?

"I need a room please," asked Lone Wolf?

"Alright, you need to sign this book and I'll get you your key," said the porter.

"Alright," said Lone Wolf.

"And here's your key Mister Lone Wolf," said the porter.

"Iheedn" (thank you)," Lone Wolf said in the Apache language.

He went upstairs and unlocked his room and went inside. He put his things on the bed and walked out he walked downstairs into the lobby.

"Where you off to Mister Lone Wolf," asked the porter?

"Just going to the saloon to get a couple of drinks," said Lone Wolf.

So he walked out of the hotel lobby and went across the street to the saloon. As Lone Wolf was inside here came Billy riding up to the hotel. He got off his horse and tied it up next to Lone Wolfs horse and walked into the hotel lobby.

"Hello sir," said the porter.

"I need a room please," asked Billy?

"Just sign the book and I'll get you your key," said the porter.

So Billy signed the book and closed it.

"Here is your key," said the porter.

"Thanks," said Billy.

Billy grabbed the keys and walked by the stairs as he was about to step up he turned and looked at the desk, he walked back over there and asked the porter if he could see that book again. He looked inside and above his name was Lone Wolfs name. He closed the book and ran upstairs and threw his things on the bed and ran back down. When he went down into the lobby he saw Bob come in.

"Bob," said Billy.

"Billy, how are you doing," asked Bob?

"Good, I think Lone Wolf is here to," said Billy.

"What," asked Bob?

"Yeah, he signed the book, excuse me did Lone Wolf get a room here as well," asked Billy?

"Yes he went over to the saloon," said the porter.

"Let's go visit him, I'll put my stuff up and I will be back down," said Bob.

So Bob ran upstairs and threw his stuff on the bed and ran back down stairs. Then they both walked out and over to the saloon.
As Lone Wolf was drinking his whiskey, next to him were a couple of men talking.

"Hey did you hear about the uprising, in South Dakota, and the Indian man and some other Indian men got killed," said Corey.

"Yeah I heard about that, what was his name," asked Roy?

"I think it was Red Bear or something like that," said Corey.
When Lone Wolf was hearing all this he thought to himself. “Ah Henry what did you tell him."

"Yeah he tried to fight the whites on the reservation and letting there people go back home," said Corey.

"That was dumb that Indian thinking he could take on all those blue coats," said Roy.

"I did long ago, it was easy. Red Bear was a good Indian a friend, it was not dumb wouldn't you fight for your people your family," asked Lone Wolf?

"Yes we would, but that was still wrong for killing some soldiers," said Roy.

"Most whites would say that," said Lone Wolf.

"Look mister I don't know who you are but you better be careful," said Corey holding a gun towards Lone Wolfs gut.
Then Bill and Bob walked in.

"Is there a problem,” asked Billy aiming his gun at Corey?

"Corey, that's Billy and Bob there the outlaws from Montana, and I am guessing this is Lone Wolf another outlaw," said Roy.

"I said is there a problem," asked Billy?

"No," said Corey putting his gun away.

"Good now get going or I'll put a bullet in your head and I don't miss," said Billy.

So they slowly walked out of the saloon.

"Hey Lone Wolf long time no see," said Billy.

"Hey guys what are you doing here," asked Lone Wolf?

"Nothing just came by to see yaw," said Billy smiling.

"Come on guys lets go back to the hotel and catch up," asked Bob?

So they walked out and went across the street to the hotel and went inside the lobby and wet upstairs and stood in the hallways and Billy said,

"I think we should get the gang back together again," asked Billy?

"Yeah it would be like old times," said Bob.

"Come on let's get out of here, let’s get the gang back, we need to find Henry also," Billy.

"I don't know, I liked it at the time when we were younger then," said Lone Wolf.

"We're still young," said Billy.

"Yeah we're still young but Henry is probably in his forties or fifties by now," said Lone Wolf.

"So were getting the gang back," asked Billy?

"You didn't hear a word I said did you," asked Lone Wolf?

"We're getting the boy back," said Billy.

"Alright let's go find Henry," said Lone Wolf.

So they packed there things and checked out of the hotel and left for Montana. They were off like a herd of turtles.

Chapter 2

On their journey to Montana they came upon a town in Wyoming. There they stopped to check in at a hotel and get something to eat and drink for their horses. As they were in Wyoming they ran into some trouble. A couple of men by the name of Eddie and Ray, they were outlaws.

"Look who showed up,” said Eddie.

"Well its Billy,” said Ray.

"So Billy what brings you head to Wyoming,” asked Eddie?

"What do you want,” asked Billy?

"Nothing, we just want you to come with us, just think of it as a joy ride,” asked Ray?

"I 'am not going anywhere, “said Billy.

Oh, where are your buddies they are here also, " asked Ray?

"There inside booking us one room,” said Billy.

"Oh,” said Eddie.

"Yeah,” said Billy.

"Eddie lets go up on that roof behind us, if they come out we will shoot them,” said Ray.

"What, why they have done nothing to you, " asked Billy?

"They were running with you,” said Eddie.

"What if I tell them not to come out,” asked Billy?

"Then I'll put a bullet in your back,” said Eddie.

So they walked to the building behind them and went inside. As Billy ran into the hotel before they could get to the roof.

"GUYS,” shouted Billy!

"What," asked Henry?

"Do not go out those lobby doors, hey Henry didn’t see you there, are you, " asked Billy.

"Wait, why,” asked Lone Wolf?

These men's names are Eddie and Ray they know us, they'll shoot if we go out them doors, “worried Billy.

"You worry too much,” said Henry.

"I 'am serious they don't miss, “said Billy.

"We'll shoot them from inside then,” said Lone Wolf.

So Billy, Henry and Lone Wolf were down in the lobby, Bob was in the room looking out the window.

"Lone Wolf, Billy you guys walk out there and Bob and I will shoot them,” said Henry.

So Billy and Lone Wolf stepped outside and Henry and Bob shot the two men and they fell off the building and onto the ground.

"Now we can go to the saloon, “said Lone Wolf.

So they loaded their guns up and walked towards the saloon. As they arrived there they went to the bar and ordered drinks.

"You know, I wonder what happened to Frankie, I bet he still lives in the old mansion house in Montana,” Asked Henry?

Chapter 3

So they went on and never stopped for anything until it got dark, then they stopped to rest.

When they were sleeping under the stars like Indians and the fire was still going, wolves started to howl in the distance. They were still sleeping, soon enough the wolves were real close in the camp, they were surrounding them, Lone Wolf barley opened his eye, when he did he saw the wolves and quickly got up and yelled at them, he even threw rocks, they ran away but came back with more wolves, they were growling. Then Billy, Bob and Henry woke up, as they did they saw the wolves, the wolves ran to the camp and jumped on Bob and Henry, and then some jumped on Billy and Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf got a pretty good claw mark across his chest, Billy and the rest got scratch as well. Then two wolves jumped on Lone Wolf, Lone Wolf grabbed on and wrestled with it and grabbed its head and bit it in the ear and it yelped and ran away. He pushed the other wolf off of him and quickly ran and grabbed a stick out of the fire and waved it at the wolves and yelled, so they ran off deep into the forest.

"Is everybody alright," asked Lone Wolf?

"I think so, I still have my fingers and toes," said Billy.

"Ha, yes were alright," said Bob dusting off dirt.

"Lone Wolf, let me clean your wound," said Henry.

"It's just a scratch," said Lone Wolf putting his shirt back on.

"No excuses come here, I will bandage it," said Henry.

Henry bandaged up Lone Wolf’s arm and they were also cleaning up as well and went back to sleep. When morning came the fire was already out and Billy, Henry, and Lone Wolf were up early, Bob was still sleeping so they had to wake him up. Well they started packing their horses and off they went to find Frankie in Montana. On their way a sheriff from Texas stopped them.

"Where you guys headed," asked the sheriff?
Lone Wolf and Billy quickly looked at each other and pulled their hats down low over their faces.

"We're on our way to Montana," said Henry.

"We'll I suggest you turn back now," asked the sheriff?

"Why, what has happened we've come so far to turn back now," asked Henry?

"A man nearly burned the whole town down, and I am taking him back to Texas, he is wanted for murder over there in Texas," said the sheriff.
Henry and Bob looked; the man had a lot of bullet holes in him.

"So that's the guy," asked Bob?

"Yes sir, now I am on another bounty, I have been looking for these two for years now, I think I am getting close, I can't feel it in my bones," the sheriff pulled two wanted posters out of his pocket. It was Billy and Lone Wolf when they were younger. Billy and Lone Wolf looked at the pictures and they both laughed because it didn't even look like them so they raised their hats a bit.

"I was wandering if you have run into them," asked the sheriff.

"Nope we haven't seen them, but those are some ugly looking guys," said Billy.

"Yes they are, what did they do," asked Lone Wolf?

"Well they came to Texas, and I met them, they had weapons on them, and I told them no weapons in my town, I asked them if they were staying long, and that I don't allow guns in my town, or shooting in my town. This Indian boy and his friend both started a miniature war, they killed twelve people without missing a single shot, all those men were scalp hunters, those two boys should have let the law handle it," said the sheriff.

"The law," argued Lone Wolf.

"Lone Wolf," said Billy.

"Sorry," said Lone Wolf.

" It’s okay kiddo," said the sheriff.

"Oh I didn't know that, I heard in the newspaper that the person who was taken care of them didn't know they went all the way to Texas but were still going to find our friend said Henry.

"Good luck, I hope you find what you’re looking for," said the sheriff.

"Thanks," said Henry.

So they were off again to find Frankie. They didn't know what to think about the town and what it looked like since they have left. Well they stopped by a river and let their horses drink. Billy, Bob washed their faces, as did Lone Wolf and Henry. As they were washing, Lone Wolf quit washing his face and stood up real fast and turned around and was looking around.

What's wrong," asked Henry?

"We're being followed," said Lone Wolf.

"By whom," asked Billy?

"Did you just say whom, anyways it feels like something is there, but when I turn around its gone," said Lone Wolf.

"Could it be a dark spirit or something," asked Billy?

"I don't know," said Lone Wolf.

Then they went back to washing their faces. As they finished they got on their horses and went across the stream and into Montana.

Chapter 4

As they arrived in Montana they were devastated at what the town have become, some buildings were burned to the ground, some half way burned.

"Wow Montana has changed a lot since we left, that man did a lot of damage," said Henry.

"Yeah he did, let’s go talk to Sheriff Jason, I bet he missed us," asked Bob?

So they tied their horses up and walked into the jail house.

"Hello their sheriff," said Henry.

"Hey guys, how've you all been," asked Sheriff Jason?

"Good, we've been all over the place," said Henry.

"We'll what can I do for you guys," asked Sheriff Jason.

"I was wandering if we could help rebuild the town again, so we don't have to move or make it a ghost town," asked Henry.

"We'll we can try tomorrow morning we need lots of wood and supplies," said Sheriff Jason.

"Alright, we're going to find Frankie," said Henry.

"He still lived up there in that house in the woods," said Sheriff Jason.

So they got on their horses and rode to Frankie's house. As they were riding into the woods they came across Frankie's house, it looked abandoned and deserted, and when they came through the fence Lone Wolf heard a cocking noise of a gun.

"Wait stop, don't go up," Lone Wolf holding his arm out.

"Stop wright their Injun and whoever else is with you, before I put a bullet in your gut," yelled Frankie.

"Frankie is that you," asked Henry?

"Who's asking," asked Frankie pointing Lone Wolfs Winchester at them?

"It's me Henry, Billy, Bob and Lone Wolf," said Henry.

"Frankie it's me Lone Wolf, I’m the one that gave that Winchester to you," said Lone Wolf walking slowly through the gate.

"How do I know it you, and not that guy," asked Frankie?

"We'll if you would come out from behind the door and actually poke your head out to see who it is before you blow somebody's head off," asked Lone Wolf?
Frankie put the Winchester down and opened the door a little more and stuck his head out.

"Come on Frankie it's us," said Billy.

So Frankie opened the door all the way and stepped out into the porch and saw four men standing in his yard.

"Hey Frankie," said Henry.

"Sorry about that, I could have killed you, I thought that man was coming up here," said Frankie.

"It's alright, you didn't know," said Billy.

"Come on in, I'll fix you guys something to eat," said Frankie.

So they went back to their horses and put them in the barn and went inside Frankie's house. As they were eating and drinking they started talking.

"So how have you been Frankie," asked Henry?

"Good, good, so you guy got back together I see," said Frankie.

"Yes we did, except one, he didn't come back," said Henry looking at Lone Wolf.

"Who," asked Frankie?

"Red Bear, he died, he was killed by the blue coats, he was trying to free his people, he's been listening to somebody to much telling him stories," said Lone Wolf looking at Henry.

"I am sorry, I really liked that kid even though at times I didn't, he was an okay kid," said Frankie.

"Yes he was," said Henry smiling.

"We better get some rest if we're going to help rebuild the town," said Bob.

"That's great," said Frankie.

"Yes so we don't have to leave the town," said Henry.

"Good, I will hell then," said Frankie.

As they were all sleeping Lone Wolf was woken by the sound of the horses whining and kicking the stalls. Lone Wolf didn't know what it was so he quickly got up and grabbed his pistol and started walking towards the barn cautiously, and he slowly moved towards the stalls, he was calming the horses down. As he was looking around he didn't see anything, so he went back to the house and he put his gun up under his pillow and went back to sleep. When morning came Lone Wolf was already up looking out the window towards the barn.

"What are you looking at Lone Wolf," asked Billy walking by?

"The barn, I heard something last night, it was making the horses jumpy, so I went out there to the barn and looked and saw nothing," said Lone Wolf.

"Well its morning now when we get ready to leave will look around," said Billy.

"Alright," said Lone Wolf.
So they went down to the kitchen and Frankie was cooking breakfast.

"What are we having this morning," asked Henry?

"We're having eggs, bacon, and biscuits with gravy and coffee," said Frankie.

"Sounds good to me, let’s eat," asked Billy?
So they started eating, as they were eating the horses were whining again.

"See told you I heard something last night," said Lone Wolf getting up and running out to the barn.

So the rest of them got up and ran outside. They walked into the barn very slowly and carefully looked around in the stalls and above the stalls, but nothing was there. Then Lone Wolf herds something running out the barn so he quickly looked and saw nothing there. Lone Wolf started to look at the ground for tracks.

"It's very young, a white eye," said Lone Wolf.

"When we finish rebuilding the town we will come back and follow those tracks," said Henry.

So they packed their horses and Frankie drove the wagon and rode to town. They stopped by the sheriff’s place.

"Howdy Sheriff Jason, were all here now," asked Henry?

"Good let’s get busy," said Sheriff Jason.

Chapter 5

So they started to rebuild the town, se of the men took their shirts off and started to rebuild buildings that were damaged. As they were building a stage coach came through and stopped in front of the hotel. A pretty young lady and a young man stepped out of the stage coach, she was very beautiful, and she had long golden hair with a sun hat and a yellow dress. Henry, Billy, Frankie, Bob and Lone Wolf stopped what they were doing and stared at her. She grabbed her friend and walked over to the saloon and told her guy friend to go in and ask for drinks. So he walked inside.

"Can I have a couple of drinks for those men working out there," asked the man?

"Sure thing, coming right up sir," said the bar tender.
So he grabbed some and handed them to the lady and went back inside to get the rest.

"Hey that lady is bringing us drinks," Billy whistling at her.

"Mind your manners boys, were not animals," said Henry.

"I thought you men might need a drink or two," said the young lady.

"Yes ma'am, much obliged, thank you," said Henry politely.

Lone Wolf came down to grab the drinks, as he was coming down she couldn't help but stare, when he came to the last step he turned around, and she was still staring at him. She handed him the drinks and Lone Wolf tossed them up to the men. Then she handed him his drink.

"You like what you see," asked Lone Wolf smiling.

"I brought you drinks nothing more," said the young lady.

"Is there a problem," asked the man?

"No thanks for the drinks," Lone Wolf climbing back up the ladder. She walked back to the hotel, when Lone Wolf made it to the top of the building they were rebuilding, the young lady looked back and Lone Wolf looked down at her with a straight face, she quickly turned and smiled and went inside the hotel.

"Man that is a pretty lady," asked Billy.

"Yeah she was, I think she liked Lone Wolf, all the women love Lone Wolf, all he has to do is stand there," said Bob laughing.

"Or all he as to do is show is six pack and they go nuts, or take his hair down and the really go crazy," said Billy laughing until he almost fell off the building.

"Alright, alright, she liked me, but I don't go with white women, I already had a women when I was younger," said Lone Wolf.

"You did, what happened," asked Bob?

"Quit talking and more hammering," interrupted Sheriff Jason on purpose and looking at Lone Wolf.

"Okay calm down," said Billy?

Sheriff Jason went back to his office and looking at some paper work.
When they were finished building the sun started to go down, so they packed their things and rode back to Frankie's house. As they got there they herd the mules and pigs scream, so they rode over to the barn and went inside.

"Alright come out of there, you have no place to run," asked Frankie?
So it came out.

"What are you soon here kid, did someone send you to kill us," asked Billy?

"What's your name boy, “asked Henry?
Lone Wolf had a flash back of the time Billy asked that to Red Bear, he shook it off.

"Never mind the name, what are you doing here," asked Lone Wolf walking up to the boy?

Billy walked beside Lone Wolf and put his hand across Lone Wolfs chest making Lone Wolf step back a little.

"We'll I um....," paused the boy.

"You what, come on kid we don't have all day," Lone Wolf getting angry.

"I read about you in the papers, I heard you guys came back in town so I've been sleeping and hiding out in your barn," said the boy.

"Why didn't you come out when I was there," asked Lone Wolf angrily.

"You had a gun," said the boy.

"You wasted your time here, go back to where ever you came from kid, your too soft, you can’t look somebody in the eye and kill them, so go home kid," said Lone Wolf.

"My name is not kid, its Josh," said Josh.

"WHATEVER," shouted Lone Wolf in an angry voice and walked away.

"I want to be remembered like Jessie James, Billy the kid, Hombre the half-bred Indian, Doc Holiday," said Josh.

"That's nice kid, but you’re not killing material, go home," said Billy.

"Wait, you guys aren't afraid of anything, everybody fears you, I want that," said Josh.

"Kid you’re going to get shot at in different towns, people are going to fight you or pick a fight, and shoot you off guard," said Bob.

"You guys can teach me how to shoot, and I'll use my Indian techniques that my father would teach me," said Josh.

"I don't know he is, he's younger than Red Bear was when he joined," said Billy.

"You guys were young when you started this gang, we can use him as bate," said Henry.

"That would be good for the runt," said Frankie going to the house.
Lone Wolf herd what the kid said about being Indian.

"You’re not an Indian, you’re a want to be Indian, just because you have long hair and you say anybody can say their Indian it doesn't mean you’re an Indian, we don't need you," said Lone Wolf.

"We'll they want me, I am to an Indian," said Josh.
Lone Wolf got up and got right into Josh's face and said,

Indians come from India, Apache runs this gang, you’re not welcomed here, I didn't invite you," said Lone Wolf angry.

"Lone Wolf walk it off," asked Henry?

"This want to be white boy is not one of us, he is to soft, what if something happens to him and we came keep our eyes on him and he gets killed cause he didn't pay attention, I am not going to be responsible for you kid if something happens to you," said Lone Wolf walking out the door.
Henry walked outside and looked up at the moon.

"What is with you today, this is a side of you I haven't seen in a long time," asked Henry concerned?

"That white boy is not joining," said Lone Wolf.

"We do need him, he's young, extra eyes," said Henry.

"I had a flash back of Red Bear when he first joined," said Lone Wolf.

"Red Bear was a good friend, a good Indian, but that boy in there wants to be noticed and remembered, I thought you would give him a chance," asked Henry?

"You thought wrong, I don't want him here, I don't want him near me, if he says anything stupid I am out of here, I'll go back to Fort Apache and let the blue coats handle me," said Lone Wolf going down the steps.

"He is going to be with us whether you like it or not, I don't want any trouble from you or him, understand," asked Henry?

"Yes father, there won't be any trouble I am not staying here I am sleeping in the barn," said Lone Wolf walking out to the barn.

"Oh no you’re not, you’re staying under the same roof as Josh even if it kills you, come on we're all going to sit and eat," Henry grabbing Lone Wolf by the arm.

Chapter 6

So Lone Wolf and Henry walked inside and sat down at the table, Frankie was still cooking.

"So Josh were you born here in Montana, whets your parents," asked Billy?

"Yes I was born and raised here, both my parents died a few years ago when I was little," said Josh.

"Oh sorry about that," said Billy.

"You shouldn't have asked Billy," said Henry.

"It's okay, he didn't know," said Josh.

"Let's eat," said Frankie bringing the food to the table.

"Good, I am starving," said Billy.
They started eating.

"Mm, this is excellent, better than it was a few years ago," said Billy

It’s the same," said Frankie.

"It's good," said Billy stuffing his face.

"Yes it is very good," said Josh.

"We'll I am glad you like it kid," said Frankie.

Lone Wolf didn't eat, he just starred at Josh. Finally Lone Wolf got up from the table and went outside to the barn and rode his horse to the carrel. The moon was very bright so you could see outside. So he watched his horse gallop and made the dust fly.

"Did I do something wrong," asked Josh?

"No, Lone Wolf is a hard headed Indian, he has been that way, but never mind him, just keep eating," said Lone Wolf.

Henry got up from the table and went outside and sat down on the porch and watched Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf jumped into the carrel and petted his paint horse; Lone Wolf looked back and saw Henry sitting on the porch

Chapter 7

As Lone Wolf stormed out of the hotel he jumped on his horse and rode to the woods and got off his horse and sat down on a rock he was in an opened area trees on both sides. He looked up at the clear skies and saw an Eagle.

"You’re lucky to be free, nobody can take your home, they can't change you, but to be a two legged they can change you, they can take everything, your home, your land, your children, your wives, your language, and your way of life. You are lucky Eagle," said Lone Wolf.
Lone Wolf got up and turned and saw a "tsetsoye" (bear) in Apache language. Lone Wolf slowly walked towards it and sat down. The bear walked towards Lone Wolf and sat down, he thought that was very strange.

"Lone Wolf "anosoptan, an petukin" (listen, the day) in Lakota language. Is not over, I am your "cola" (friend) in Lakota language. Why are you so hard on the boy, do not hurt him like you almost did Henry," said Red Bear in the Lakota language.

"How did you know that," asked Lone Wolf?

"Henry told me the "kapi" (story) in Lakota language. When we saved you from that fort, let him be somebody, he admires you and hopes to learn something from you," said Red Bear.

"I can't, I just feel different around him, when he is near me I want to bash his head in," said Lone Wolf.

"Your native instincts are coming back, you’re not moving forward only backwards towards the past. You need to forget about the past, times are changing, and there is nothing you or Henry can do about it. Give it time, you will see things change and get better, just give it time," said Red Bear.

"What if something happens to the boy, I'm not going to be responsible if he can't keep up, I am older and wiser than he is, he looks like he could be my son or brother," said Lone Wolf.

"Patience Lone Wolf, it will get better you'll see," said Red Bear turning around.

"Wait, when will it get better," asked Lone Wolf?

"You will see," said Red Bear turning around and heading deep into the forest.

Lone Wolf turned around and faced his horse and then jumped on it and rode back to Frankie's house, it was dark and everybody was in bed. Lone Wolf went to the barn and put his horse up, he heard somebody walking so he quickly turned and it was Henry.

"Lone Wolf," said Henry.

"Henry," said Lone Wolf.

"Where you been its late," asked Henry?

"Near the mountains," said Lone Wolf.

"What did you find," asked Henry smiling?

"Why are you smiling like that," asked Lone Wolf?

"You found something didn't ya," asked Henry?

"Yes," said Lone Wolf.

"Good," said Henry.

"I don't know, I was fine on my own and now I am being.....

"A bad Indian boy who is going on the war path again," said Henry.

"Yes," said Lone Wolf.

"Come on let go inside," said Henry.

So they walked inside and Henry gave him something to eat and ate. Then they started talking and finally cleaned up their mess and went upstairs to bed. Lone Wolf laid down in his bed and looked out the window and back at Josh. He got out of bed and put one of Red Bears pistol on top of the pillow next to him,

Chapter 8

Early morning Lone Wolf got up before Josh did, he came down to the kitchen and went outside started walking some horses around the carrel. Everybody starts to wake up. Josh woke up with a gun on his pillow. He picked it up and walked towards the window and looked down at Lone Wolf watching him walk with the horses around the carrel. He put his clothes on and ran downstairs and out the door Josh jumped on his horse bare back and rode to the forest into the mountains.
