CHAPTER 1
“Hi, Jake. Whanna go camping with me on me this weekend?” asked Rosalina.
Rosalina is a pretty girl that has light brown hair and is totally dedicated to animals. Jake is a cool guy that loves horses to the death. (So does Rosalina.) He has dark brown hair and is very smart when it comes to animals.
“Hey, sure I’ll come Rose. When do you want me to come over to your farm? Or do you want to come over to my place?” asked Jake.
“Uhhhhhh,” was all she could say as she looked at him.
“Rose? Roooose?” he said while snapping his fingers in her face.
“O, sorry.”
After that Rosie grabbed his hand and pulled him over to their trucks. Hers was a red Ford with roses on the sides. (Jake gave her the stickers for her 16th birthday.) His was a blue Ford and had black mustangs on the sides. (And Rose gave him the stickers for his 16th birthday.)
“We’ll leave your house at 4:15pm and get camp set up in the prairie outside my house.” Said Rosie as she got into her truck.

“I was thinking, can I barrow Daze?”
“Ummmm, I guess. If you wanna. But what happened to Amy?”
Amy was Rosie’s horse. She was a white horse that is very fast.
“She cut her leg open and had to stay in the barn.”
“Oh, that’s sounds bad.”
By this time they were talking to each other on their cell phones.
“It was, but it didn’t bleed much.”
“O that’s good. I’ll go pack while you go load the horses. And I’m going to ride Willow.”
“Ok”
On the way to his house they talked and saw Andy on her horse Loup. (Which means Wolf in French.) He is a big dark grey thoroughbred that always has his ears pointing forward. (Like a curious wolf. (See the similarity?))


CHAPTER 2
Once they got out of their trucks they raced to his house. Jake ran up the stairs and Rose went into the living room.
“Hi Kati.” (Kati is Jakes mom.)
“Hi Rosie. What’s up?”
“Not much. Can Jake come camping with me at my house? We’d be in the prairie. And it would only be one or two nights.”
“Oh that’s fine! Just be careful.”
“Oh we will Kati and were taking Daze and Willow.
“Ok. Is he going to ride both of them?”
“No, I’m going to ride Daze.”
“Ok. What happened to Amy?”
As Rosie explained what happened to Amy, Jake snuck out to bring the trailer out back.
Then Rosie yelled “Thank you!” as she ran outside. Just as Jake got into the truck.
As she jumped onto the fence she yelled “Daze, Willow!” and they came running up to her.
Willow is a light brown mare with an upside down leaf shape on her face. And Daze is a dark brown thoroughbred that has a white blaze on his face.
As she put their halters on she saw Jake back up the trailer to the fence so that they could get the horses into it faster.
“Hey I didn’t know you could back a trailer like that.”
“Well I guess I’m just that good”
“Yea right!” laughed Rosie and play punched his arm.
“Well I might just want to get out of here.” he laughed while he threw his bag into the camper part of the trailer and rubbed his arm pretending he was hurt.
The trailer has a camper in the front and can hold four horses at a slant. It’s blue with the same mustangs on the sides that are on Jakes truck. (He got the stickers from his parents for his 16th birthday.)
When he stopped she jumped on Daze from the fence and ponied Willow to the trailer.
“Let’s get going!” said Rosie
“I second that!” said Jake as he climbed into the truck.
“I’m so excited!”
“Me too!”
A laughing Rosie said “Who wouldn’t be?!”
“City people.”
“Right.” Laughed Rose as they pulled out of the drive way.
As they drove they made plans. First they would set up camp. Then they would saddle up and ride to Roses house to get food and water and pop (and other things they needed). After that they will build a fire and roast marshmallows and make smores. Lastly they would tell scary stories.


CHAPTER 3
When they got to Roses place Jack stopped to let Roses parents know they were there.
“Hi kids!” said Roses mom.
“Hi!” Jack and Rose replied at the same time.
“What you up to?”
“Gonna camp mom like I told you we would.” Said Rose in an irritated way.
“Ok, Ok. Go on. Ill pack you some food and you can ride over here to get it.”
“Thanks mom!” yelled Rose as she leaned out her window when they started to the prairie.
When they got to the prairie Rose jumps out to let the horses out of the trailer.
“Come on girl, back up,” said Rose to Willow. “Good girl” said Rose when Willow was out of the trailer.
“Daze. Back.” Commanded Rose.
She wasn’t holding him or anything she just commanded him.
“Good boy Daze!” prized Rose when he came out the way he was supposed to. That’s when she gave him a kiss on his muzzle.
“Hey any guy would do that for a kiss from you!” joked Jake.
“I know.”
By this time Jake had a fire set up and ready to start up.
“Let’s go get some food.” Said Rose as she heard Jake stomach growl.
“Ok.”
Rose let Dazes rope drop to let him graze while she went for a bare back pad. Has she saddle Daze, Jake saddled Willow but kept an eye on Rose in wonder how she trained Daze so much in so little time.
“Ok I’m done. Are you?” asked Rose.
“Yea. Just let me get her bridle on.”
“K.”
“Ok let’s go.” Said Jake from Willows back.
“Hang on!” said Rose from the ground. She was having a hard time getting up.
“Need help?” asked Jake.
“Yes please.”
Jake was over by her side in a minute. He put his knee out a little for her do use as a step stool.
As she stood on his leg she slipped and he put his hands on her waist to hold her up.
“Thanks.” Said Rose.
“No problem.”
As she settled on Dazes back, Jake got back up on Willow.
CHAPTER 4
“Ready?”
“Yep!”
“Ok. Let’s go!” sang Rose as she turned Daze toward the house and sent him at a nice loupe.
“Wait up Rose!!!!”
Rose didn’t hear she was having too much fun running like this.
Just as the house came into view Rose saw a tree down at the edge of the prairie. She aimed Daze at the tree and they cleared it by feet.
Then, she slowed him down, stopped, and pivoted him.
“Hey! Wait for me!” Jack said as he came running up only half on Willow.
“Oh! Sorry I forgot Willow was herd bound.” Said Rose around her hand as she tried (unsuccessfully) to hide a laugh.
“It’s fine Rose.” Said Jack as he got on Willows back the rest of the way.
“Ready to go get the food and stuff?” asked Rose as she resettled on Dazes back.
“Yep! Let’s go! Hey guess what?”
“What?”
“Race yea!” hollered Jack as he tuck off to the house.
“Cheater!” Rose yelled after him as she ran Daze to catch up.
It only tuck a few minutes to get to the house. But they all –horses and there riders- wanted it to keep going.
“Nice of you to finally get here” criticized Roses mother.
“Sorry mom. We were running around and Daze and I cleared that big tree trunk at the edge of the prairie!” said Rose as she started loading food onto Dazes back.
Jack was tightening the leather strap on his bare back pad so they could ride double and pony Daze back to their camp sight.
“Ok you kids be careful.” Warned Roses mother sarcastically.
“Want help up?” asked Jack as soon as Roses mom was out of ear shot.
“Sure but you get up first. So you can pull me up.”
“Ok” said Jack as he mounted willow and tuck Dazes reins so Rose could get up behind him more easily.
“Give me your hand Rosey.” Jack was the only person that’s allowed to call her that.
Rose handed him her hand and he pulled his leg back so she could use it as a step stool.
“Thanks Jack.” Said Rose as she settled behind him.
“No Problem. We country folks gotta stick together right?”
“Yea. I guess we do!” laughed Rose as they started to trot back to camp.
It tuck a few more minutes but they planed there first meal for that night.
They decided to have sandwiches made crunchy over their fire.
“Ok down you go.” Said Jack as he put his arm under Roses arms to lower her down.
“Thanks again Jack.” Said rose as soon as her feet hit the ground. “Here give me daze I’ll unload him.”
“Ok I’ll start the fire as soon as Willows Taken care of.” Said Jack as her got of Willows back.
“Ok.”
Rose unloaded 4 coolers. All about a medium size. 2 with food and 1 with water and milk and 1 for pop. She also unloaded a ton of cooking stuff.
“I’ll start the fire Jack if you untack Daze for me.” Said Rose after she finished unloading Daze.
“Sure bring him over.”
Rose had another idea.
“Go to Jack Daze.” She said to Daze and gave him a kiss to go to him.
“No fair!” said Jack as Daze pushed him over.
“I didn’t tell him to do that!” Rose barley got out While laughing and holding her gut.


CHAPTER 5
Rose had to dig threw a few bags to find a lighter but she found 1. She also had to crumple up some paper to start on fire for the fire to touch the wood.
Rose tuck the paper and laid it up against the wood and tuck another piece of paper, lit it, and laid down next to another piece of paper. Soon after the fire was going.
“You done over here yet?” asked Jack.
“Yea just finished. Are you?”
“Yea. Daze is your problem now.” Jack said as he grab a Mt. Dew for him and a Pepsi for Rose from the cooler. He gave her, her pop when he sat down on a horse blanket next to Rose.
“Thanks. Wait, what did you mean?” said Rose after she drank some of her pop.
“I mean he only lets you untack him.”
“OOOOOOOOh. I thought he got hurt and you’d ride around without me.”
“I would never do that and you know that.” Said jack as he put his arm around her and messed up her hair.
“HEY! Stop that!” said Rose as she fixed her hair and shoved him with her shoulder. “And I do know u wouldn’t do that. I was trying to be funny. Apparently it didn’t work.”
“Yea think?” Jack said as a friend.
“You know I’m not funny.” Said Rose as she finished her drink.
“Yea everyone does.”
“Your mean Jack.” Rose said as she stole his pop and pushed him over so she could drink it fast before he could get it back.
“I know I’m mean but I didn’t steal your pop miss snatcher. Give that back.” Said Jack as he tuck it back.
“The reason you don’t take my pop is cause it’s Pepsi and you hate Pepsi.” Stated Rose.
“True. So what are we gonna do after we eat? We’d still have a few hours before we have to stay at camp.”
“I thought we could go see Amy and do chores for my mom and dad.”
“Sounds good.” Said Jack as he tossed the cans away.
“What time is it?”
“5:30. Why?” asked Jack.
“Andy’s gonna drive over here after dinner. Wanna eat now?” said Rose as her stomach growled.
“I guess we should.” Laughed Jack.
“I’ll get the bread and the grill thing that goes over the fire.
“Ok ill get the rest.”
Rose went over to the big bag her mom gave them. Pulled out the Italian bread and grabs the gril thing.
Jack grabbed the meat and cheese.
Rose set up the grill thing as Jack made the sandwiches.
“Ok its up. Are yea don’t with makin them?
“Yea, here.” Said jack as he handed her the sandwiches.
“Can you grab me a spatula and a water bottle please.”
“Sure.” Said Jack as he stood up and walked over to the cooking gear.
“Thanks.” Said Rose as she flipped over the sandwiches.
“Any time.” Answered Jack.
Soon after the sandwiches were done.
“Here you go.” Said Rose as she handed Jack his.
“Thanks.”
“Well how is it?”
“Wow! That’s asome!” said Jack with his mouth full.
“Didn’t your mamma teach you manners?” laughed Rose.
“Yea. Doesn’t mean I have to use them.” Replied Jack
“True. So true.” Said Rose with a smile and a shack of her head.
“Eat before Andy gets here. I don’t think we can make this goodness again.” Joked Jack.
“I bet we could.” Said Rose around a mouth of food.
“Also, before she gets here I got a question.” Jack said all seiouse and meaningly.


CHAPTER 6
“What is it?” asked Rose not caring that she sounded stupid.
“this is stupid but, ummmmmmmmmmmm,” jack was rubbing the back of his neckand wouldn’t look at her.
“Ask me. It cant be that bad Jack.” Said Rose southinly while putting her hand on his shoulder. “You can ask me anything. Were like brother and sister.”
“I know. It’s just…………… Don’t get mad, Ok?” said Jack finally meeting her fawn colored eyes.
“I promise I won’t get mad.” Said Rose holding his eye contact.
By now there faces were very close together.
“Will you……… will you go out with me? I-I-I-I mean if u want.” Stamerd Jack.
It tuck Rose a moment to find her self control so she could speack.
“O-O-O-O-Of-f-f-f-f course Jack!” said Rose as she hugged him.
Rose laughed as he relaxed and sighsed deeply into her hair.
“Your well different from everyone else you know.” Said Jack as he pulled her back and lifted her chin up so he could look at her clearly.
“I feel different now.” Laughed Rose.
“I wanna try something. Sit very still.”
“K” was all Rose could say.
“Don’t be scared of me Rosey. I won’t hurt you.”
“I know. Oh, hang on.” Said Rose as her cell phone rang.
Rose got up and walked to the other side of the trailer. And flipped open her phone.


CHAPTER 7

“Hello?”
Hi it’s Andy
“Hey you still comein?”
I was wondering if I should bring anything over?
“Not that I know of.”
Oh
“Can you stay tonight?
Hang on ill ask
……………………
My mom said yes
“Gre-“
Let me finish. Are you sure I can?
“Yes”
“I meant with Jack.”
“You want me to ask.”
Yep!
“Hang on”
Rose walks over to Jack and sits next to him.
“Jack can Andy spend the night here with us?” Rose asked covering the phone with her hand.
“I don’t mind as long as she brings her own tent. I’ll help her put it up though.” Jack said with a slight smile playing at his lips.
“He said its fine bu-“
I herd.
“Ok” laughed Rose.
Should I bring Loup?
“Should she bring Loup Jack?”
“If she’s gonna ride.”
“If your gonna ride.”
Ok well be over in 10 minutes.
“See you when you get here!”
TTYL
“Bye.” Jack and Rose said into the phone at ounce.

A few minutes later Andy called again.

“Andy what’s wrong?”
-crying- L-L-L-L-L-Loup B-B-B-B-Broke his L-L-Leg!
“Oh Andy I’m so sorry!”
“What?!” said Jack Tacking Roses shoulders in his hands.
“Andy relax. Stay with him and we can camp some other time.” Said Rose while holding up a finger to Jack telling him to wait.
Really? Thanks Rose. You’re the best!
“No pro-“
CLICK!!
“-blem.”
“What?” repeated Jack.
“Loup broke his leg.” Replyed Rose.
“Oh how bad?”
“she wouldn’t tell me.”
“Well are we really gonna stop this camping trip already?”
“NO! I’m having to much fun so were gonna check on her later after we do chores.
“Well lets go do them now.”
“K” said Rose as she ran and jumped up onto Dazes back.
“Ok no fair.”
“All’s fair in love and war!” chanted Rose as she unclipped Dazes lead line.
“Hows that fit with this?” laughed Jack.
“I don’t know.” Said Rose with a shrug. “Can you put reins on Daze please.”
“Ok I will.” Said Jack as he tuck the reins off of Dazes bridle. Then put them on his halter.
“thanks and come here.”
“Ok. Why?” Jack said as he walk over to her.
“Stand still.” Said Rose as she leaned down and closed the distance between there lips.
This is the first time they’ve kissed.
It deepened and Rose almost feel off her horse.
All of a soden Jack pulled back.
“Whats wrong?” asked Rose.
“Nothin’.”
“Then why’d you stop?”
“We just started goin out and your moms watchin.”
“Oh man! She’s dead!”
“I DID like it though.”
“Me too. Now Hurry up or I’m gonna leave you again.”
“Give me a sec!” Jack pleaded sacarcasticly.
“Ok I will.” Said rose as she rolled her eyes.
“Ok. I’m ready.”
