Maybe There Is a Such Thing of a Happy Ending

This story is about an aunt that only has her niece and her nephew, alone because her mother died and her sister died too, so they left a paper stating that if anything happens to them the children will stay together and can’t get separated.


Rebecca was only 20 when her mother and sister died in a car accident. Her niece and nephew live with her, her niece Jadi is the oldest and is 10 years old, her nephews name is Joel, he is the youngest and is only 8 years old. It is hard for Rebecca to take care of them especially since their mother died kids been picking on them and Jadi would get in fights for her and Joel. When Jadi got in a fight they called Rebecca at work and asked her to come in. Jadi got in fights on weekly bases but for her mothers death and her mother worked for the school she just got yelled at and wasn’t suspended or anything. Joel was the quiet one he never talked but he got very good grades he got honors 3 times in a row. But Jadi was doing well too. Rebecca is an artist. She paints for advertizing companies. She gets paid well and it supports all 3 of them plus their dog Beautiful. They named her that because she a beautiful dog and is a great watch dog. Beautiful is a Doberman and is very aggressive, but obedient. Beautiful never bit them only one person but she didn’t taste blood and it was a robber while they were out someone tried to break in but Beautiful scared them away. Beautiful took care of them. Well Rebecca finished work early and in her nice Lamborghini she thankfully paid off before Charlene and her mom died. Quickly Rebecca went to the drive through car wash and they waxed her car and made it look really nice. So then she drove to Jadi and Joel’s school and waited in front of the school with her Lamborghini doors open so when they got out the kids saw that their mom (actually aunt) had money. Rebecca was leaning against the car when the school doors flew open and kids ran out then stopped in amassment then Jadi and Joel made it to the front and they walked to the car and hugged her and said “thank you mommy”, after their mom died she told them if they wanted to they can call her mom. Then Rebecca took their book bags and put them in the trunk while they got in the back seat. Joel got in first and before Jadi got into the car she looked back at the school and smiled at them and got in the passenger seat and closed the door then Rebecca made the car roar and sped off. Then she said to the kids “both of you are lucky that today is Friday and I got to leave work early so I washed the car and came here. Both of you better be happy because if your not you will be soon”. Jadi asked “where are we going, and what are we doing?” Rebecca said “well look to your right”. Jadi looked and saw the movie theater with the new movie they wanted to see. They both were excited. Joel asked “did you get a raise at work or something. We hardly go to the movie theaters”. Rebecca said “well yes! I’m now making labels for woman products”! Jadi said “congrats and I have one question”. Rebecca pulled into a close parking spot and looked at Jadi. Rebecca then said “ask away”. Jadi looked up at her and said “umm mommy are you going to get married?” Rebecca said “I don’t know, who said what?” Jadi smiled and said “well I overheard a girl saying that the way Jadi’s mom is if she gets married she will surly get a divorce in a month or even less with the money she has the divorce will be ugly”. Rebecca laughed a little then said “no, no, no, and no I wouldn’t get married silly well if you both don’t want me to”. Jadi and Joel looked at each other and smiled then looked at Rebecca, Rebecca gave that look that said I shouldn’t have said anything. Jadi said “yes but we get to choose”. Rebecca regretted her decision and said “fine but me and Jadi have about the same taste so you get the 2nd ok and I get the 3rd, ok with you two?” They both laughed and said “yea that’s fine”. Then they all got out of the car and locked it then walked into the theater to buy the tickets. After they finished paying and getting their snacks they went to the room that it would be in. They were early so nobody was in the room. Then Joel said “I have to go to the bathroom” then Jadi said the same thing. So Rebecca left snacks in the room and took them to the bathroom then came back and the snacks were still there. After the movie ended Jadi and Joel were tired so they went home and Joel fell asleep but Jadi was doing hers and Joel’s homework, well only the questions she knew he wouldn’t understand and wrote them out to kind of explain the answer. When Jadi finished she went to Rebecca’s work room and knocked on the door. Rebecca said “come in” and Jadi did. Rebecca was getting out her paint supplies to design her first label. Jadi asked “what label are you doing” and Rebecca said “mascara, why?” Jadi said “just wondering” Rebecca said “oh well want to help?” Rebecca hardly ever asks for help on her work labels. Jadi said “sure I’ll go change into my painting clothes”. Jadi ran out of the room and Rebecca yelled “no running”. Then laughed a little. Jadi came back into the room with her painting clothes and her hair tied back in a messy bun. Rebecca then went her last drawer and pulled out a medium sized wooden box. Then sat next to Jadi and said “look” then Rebecca opened the box and there were 3 skinny paint brushes. Rebecca then said “each one has one of are names on it, nana and mommy ordered them before they died”. Rebecca said “I always use my brush for my work paintings and they always come out perfect, I still use it if I need a wider or skinnier brush too”. Jadi then turned over the second brush and it had these words engraved in gold on it “for my wonderfully beautiful daughter Jadelis~ mommy loves you sweet heart”. Jadi began to cry softly then Rebecca held her in her arms and cried too and said “I am so sorry baby, I am honestly so sorry baby”. Jadi said “it’s not your fault”. “I know but I feel horrible for showing this to you”, said Rebecca. “No I am glad you showed me this because I would have been mad at you in the long run”, said Jadi. When they finish crying Rebecca said “well lets make dinner now so when your brother wakes up dinner will be done, then we can finish painting or well start”, they both laughed a little then Rebecca turned off the light and made dinner. Right when they finished making dinner Joel walked into the kitchen all jolly and said “I am starved!” Then he sat at the table and Rebecca put Beautiful’s food in front of Joel on purpose and Joel said “maybe I will pass tonight”. But before he got up Rebecca put his food in front of him and put Beautiful’s food on the floor. Joel said “now this is what I am talking about!” After they were finished with dinner, they went for a walk with Beautiful. Rebecca is secretly works in the narcotic section in the police force and that’s why she has Beautiful, Beautiful is Rebecca’s partner. When they were on their walk Beautiful’s nose went up into the air and sniffed around then looked by the alley then at Rebecca and the look she gave Rebecca was telling Rebecca theirs something going on in that alley that’s not suppose to be going on. Rebecca told Jadi and Joel to “stay right there and don’t move”. And they said “ok”. Rebecca went under her skirt and got out her police gun. The kids looked at Rebecca with a frighten look on their face. Rebecca said “Ill explain it all at home ok?” Rebecca then walked slowly with Beautiful to the corner of the alley then peeked into the alley and saw about 5 boys dealing drugs. She then pulled back and grabbed her phone and called the station and asked them to send over about 6 cops. In about 2 minuets you could hear sirens and they were close. The boys ran over to Rebecca’s side of the alley then she let Beautiful go to get them. After the whole drama was over they went home. Jadi and Joel walked into the house with Rebecca and then Rebecca went to lock the door, when she turned around she saw Jadi and Joel standing behind her, Joel had his arms across his chest and Jadi had her hands on her hips. Rebecca asked “what?” Then it came to her. Jadi said “the gun? The police? Mom, are you a cop? Rebecca let out a deep breath and said “yea, I’m a narcotic cop, that means if arrest people that are selling drugs or dealing illegal drugs. I didn’t want to tell you anything because I didn’t know how you’ll react to it. So, want do you think? I mean being a cop?” Jadi and Joel looked at each other and smiled, they said “YES”. Rebecca said “well and since its still daylight out, wants to get some I don’t know? Ice cream? They said “yes, yes, yes!” They went to the ice cream store down the street and Jadi got a twist with chocolate and vanilla cone, Joel got a vanilla cone, and Rebecca got a chocolate cone. They then went home to go to sleep, and they did. Rebecca was painting instead of sleeping. She still had work on Saturdays. So she was doing her mascara design. It was beautiful. There was a fading blue background and an eye with clumpy mascara and another with nice long lashes and no clumps on it. She worked very hard and takes her work seriously. But then the next day was the worst for Rebecca. While she was at work and Jadi and Joel at home someone visited Jadi and Joel. Rebecca got a call from Jadi and Joel. Rebecca ran out of there it wasn’t even funny. Rebecca got into her Lamborghini and sped all the way home. Rebecca parked in the drive way and got inside the house to see a man she remembered when she was a kid. When she was 12 she started seeing her dead father, she had seen him on till about 3 years ago when she lost her mom and sister. But this time when she saw him he was real, a real person, solid and no glow around him. Jadi saw Rebecca and said “mommy look your daddy is here to see you”. Her father turned around and said “oh sweetie”, then ran toward her and gave her a hug. Rebecca was so in shock that she forgot to hug back. Rebecca’s dad died when she was little so it was very shocking to have your dead father hug you and feel real and like a real person. Her dad said “wait a minute, you have kids”? Rebecca said “no, but they are great kids, they were my sisters”. He said “oh, well it’s nice of you to take care of them”. Rebecca asked if he was hungry and he said “yes”, so she told her father to sit at the table. Rebecca went to the kitchen and made some spaghetti with sauce and put some on a plate and then plopped a medium amount of sauce on top of his noodles and walked over to him and gave him the plate, a fork, a spoon, and a can of Pepsi. He said “thank you and umm I need to introduce you to somebody”. Rebecca thought it was a girl but when her dad came back in the house he brought a tall, handsome, blue eyed man. Rebecca said “umm dad who is this because I don’t like strangers in my house”. Her dad said “he’s not a stranger, he is your brother”. Rebecca’s jaw dropped. This is how everything went then.
Brother: hi, I don’t think we met before but my name is Kyle.
Rebecca: umm, hi my name is Rebecca but you could call me Becca.
Brother: well its nice to meet you Becca, I see you made dinner.
Rebecca: umm, yes, would you like some?
Dad: oh, Kyle her mother was an amazing cook.
Brother: was?
(Looking at Rebecca)
Rebecca: umm, yea she died about 4 years ago, her and my sister.
And the rest was blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and blah.
Rebecca’s father decided to sleep over at Rebecca’s house. Kyle had to go home to his house. When Rebecca was putting Jadi and Joel to bed they said that their mommy visited them today. Rebecca didn’t know what to say. They said that nana was there too and that they are in the room right now. Rebecca heard talking so she turned around to see her mom and sister at the doorway. She said “mom? Charlene?” They said “yes it’s us”. Rebecca nearly fell. She quickly sat on the chair near the desk and Rebecca began to cry. Next thing she knew her mom and sister were next to her. Rebecca said “I can’t believe I’m seeing my mother and sister that died, do I have a gift that I can see my dead loved ones?” Jadi and Joel said “I guess you do because, well we might have gotten it from you”. Rebecca but them to bed and went to her room. She took a bobble bath, put on her comfortable pajamas, and went to sleep. The next morning Rebecca woke up early, got dressed for work, checked to make sure that the kids were awake, and made breakfast. She made some waffles with orange juice. Her dad left for work before Rebecca got up. Rebecca ate with the kids then dropped them off at school. Rebecca then when she walked through the doors to her job she saw a familiar person at the front desk. She walked up to the secretary and said “excuse me, umm Marisa, do I have any mail?” Marisa said “yes” then handed her some papers then Rebecca said “thanks”. Marisa said “Rebecca wait this gentleman was asking for you”. Rebecca turned around to see Kyle. Rebecca said “Kyle, how did you know I work here?” Kyle said “oh, yeah dad told me” Rebecca asked “well, fallow me, I’ll take you to my office” Rebecca and Kyle went to her office, her office was really big compared to the other ones. Kyle said “wow, this is a nice office!” Rebecca said “yea, you think this one is nice, the ones at the police department and the Slovak Books are bigger” Kyle said “wow, you have a lot of jobs” Rebecca said “well, I been a cop for about 7 years, so I might leave the police force, well its too much with the kids, so I’m going to leave.” Kyle said “well, you seem pretty strong and organized for what you been through.” Rebecca said “well, thank you, and umm I need to get to work” Kyle said “oh, yea well, I’ll see you around.” Rebecca said “yea, bye”. “Bye” Kyle said walking out the door. Once he left Rebecca’s friend Taylor came running in saying “Rebecca! You finally listened to me!” Rebecca said “what?” then realizing a very cute man leaving her office! She then said “oh, him he is my brother” Taylor said “aw, Rebecca I though the was your man!” Rebecca said “I know he is cute, but that’s my brother!” Taylor said “I know, but girl if he isn’t taken is will be soon!” Rebecca said “ha ha, very funny” Rebecca’s day went well; she went home after work, made dinner, and go for a walk. Rebecca got a call from Kyle and he asked if she was friends with the tall, cute, black haired woman at her job, Rebecca told him yea that’s my best friend Taylor why? Her said “Rebecca I think I’m in love” Rebecca said “well, that’s funny because umm, don’t tell Taylor I told you this but she likes you too.” From there on every thing went so fast it had been 1 year and 3 months and there was soon going to be a wedding for Taylor and Kyle! Taylor wanted Jadi to be the flower girls and Joel to be the ring holder. Rebecca was the maid of honor! Rebecca helped Taylor get a big beautiful Cinderella dress and Rebecca got a beautiful light blue dress and the rest of the bride’s mates will get a red dress. Then as the days came closer to the altar Taylor was so excited. Then the day every woman dreams of . . . . . . The wedding day. Taylor was so nervous with her Cinderella dress on and her hair in a bun with a beautiful crown holding the vale, with make up on and she looked amazing. And this was the status of the wedding . . . . .

After all the vows and stuff Kyle kissed the bride, swept her off her feet, and ran down the isle into the carriage with the maid of honor (Rebecca) and the best man (Kyle’s friend Chris) and went to the reception! After there they had so much fun! After that ended they all went home. The days went on and Rebecca was happy, but still wishing she could one day wear a big beautiful Cinderella dress, but that’s going to have to wait. Her family comes first.
