There once was a castle atop a hill,
At the hill's bottom was a flour mill.
The royalty had many foes,
All seeking for an overthrow.
Those wishing to be an oligarch
Would gladly kill the reigning monarch.
When the queen gave birth to a son,
She knew more troubles had begun.
Tjose who'd slay the king
would surely kill his offspring.
She wanted her son to be kept safe,
So, she disguised him as a waif.
And sent him to the flour mill
At the bottom of their hill.
The miller's life was happy and carefree.
He had many friends, and no enemies.
He and his wife took the boy in
To let him starve would be a sin.
The prince grew up in humble surroundings
Along with other children foundlings.
He learned to work the grinding wheel
And take care of
