Chapter 1
Chloe Johnson walked though the crowded club with her best friend Judith.
It had been three days since she had been ungrounded, and Chloe was ready to party hard. At the mischievous age of sixteen Chloe wanted to live life to the full, even if that meant using a fake ID to go be able to drink alcohol at a night club.
“We just get some seats” Chloe shouted over the obstreperous music.
Judith nodded in agreement as they searched for empty seats to sit in.
Luckily they ended up seating as far away from the stereos as possible, leaving them able to faintly hear each other speak.
“We should have gone somewhere quieter” Judith complained, and took a deep swig of her cocktail.
“Then you would have moaned that it was to quiet” Chloe told her with a small laugh.
Judith was well known at school for wailing over the smallest things, which got everyone laughing when the teachers were near enough clawing their hair out.
Looking around the room, Chloe noticed a few of the men ogling here.
She was used to it though, no matter what age the male race always seemed to be drooling over her.
Chloe had always been statuesque, with her long legs, and great posture. She had long platinum hair stood out with her sun-kissed hair and large cocoa coloured eyes. Her body was slim, with the right amount of curves in the right places. It also comforted her to know that she didn’t look a thing like her parents.
When she turned back to her friend, Chloe was beaming with happiness.
Knowing that people desired her made Chloe feel twice as good about herself.
“Half the people in the club are looking at you” Judith whispered with a giggle.
Chloe shrugged “as if I actually care, I could have ten times better than anyone in this hell hole.”
Chloe knew that none of the men there didn’t stand a chance with her, well not as long as she want drunk that it. When she was drunk she had woken up in places before that she didn’t even want to think about, and most of the time she ended up waking up to people that she usually turned her nose up at.
“Are you positive about that?” Judith challenged her “because there is a man over there that is staring at you that I think even the queen would even stop and drool over.”
Chloe rolled her eyes “no one is that good-looking Judith, you’re just being melodramatic!”
Turning around to see what all the fuss is about, Chloe mentally swallowed her words.
The guy she was seeing was as mind-blowing as one of the Greek gods. He was tall and elegant, with short curly brown hair, and coffee coloured skin. His coal black eyes stared into hers, forcing her heart to miss a beat it two.
“I think you have proofed me wrong” Chloe murmured to Judith.
“Are you going to go over to him?” Judith asked her eagerly.
Chloe looked at her friend in shock, and hissed “are you crazy? I don’t even know him, and I haven’t even finished my first drink yet.”
Judith let out a frustrated sigh “this is a once in a life time opportunity Chloe, if you not going to do this for me, at least do it for me!”
Chloe felt suddenly sorry for Judith.
Judith might have the most perfect hair, and know how to dress for the latest trends, but she had never been able to talk to a hot guy without puking over him.
Smiling at her friend, Chloe said “fine I will go speak to him, but if this goes exceedingly bad I will blame it all on you!”
“Hurry up then, he isn’t going to sit around watching you forever!” Judith said, a grin appearing on her cheeky looking face.
With a sigh, Chloe stood up and walked slowly to the hot looking man.
When she got to his table, Chloe gave him one of her best smiles and said “excuse me, but may I sit with you?”
The man looked her up and down, and seemed to be pleased with what he saw.
Chloe was relieved that she was wearing one of her short black skirts, and tight fitting tops that she only put on when her parents were not around.
“That’s entirely up to you” the man said, leaning back in his chair.
Chloe sat down closely to him and said “I’m Chloe by the way, Chloe Johnson.”
The man licked his lips and said “I go by the name Blake.”
Chloe felt proud that she got him to tell her his name so early in the conversation.
“It’s nice to meet you Blake” she purred.
“You don’t come here often” he noted, leaning closer to her “I would have remembered a pretty face like yours.”
She gave him a flirty smile “I’m sure you would.” She told him.
“You also don’t seem the time to go up to strange men in bars.” He said.
“Some things are just worth trying” she told him, she was so close to him now that there lips were almost touching, she could feel his warm breath against her delicate skin, making shivers dance up and down her spine.
At that point, she knew that he had her hooked, line, and sinker.
“It’s getting noisy in here” she told him, placing her hand on his thigh “shall we ditch this place.”
“Are you sure you want to leave your friend over there all on her own?” she asked her, breathing heavily.
Mischief gleamed in Chloe’s eyes “I’m sure that she will be perfectly fine without me.”
Taking him by the hand, Chloe pulled Blake to his feet, and led him out of the crowded night club.
“Where shall we go?” she asked him, pressing herself closely against him.
“My place will do” he whispered, his lips pressing against hers.
Chloe’s arms automatically wrapped themselves around his neck as the kiss deepened.
She knew that if he knew her real age he would probably be revolted, but Chloe didn’t care, he wouldn’t ever find out anyway.
The kiss ended much to sooner than Chloe wanted, and Blake smiled down at her.
“I have my car parked around the corner, are you ready to go?” he asked.
Chloe licked her swollen lips and nodded, unable to get a word out of her mouth.
She followed Blake to his car, and quickly got into the passenger side.
“I only live a few streets away.” Blake told her, turning on the car heater.
It started to rain cats and dogs outside, which was by all means normal for the English weather, as well as getting darkness covering the night sky outside by the second.
By the time they reached Blake’s house, Chloe was getting even more anxious to get into his house so she could prove herself not to just be a little girl playing an adults game.
Chloe learnt that Blake was a gentleman when he opened the car door for her to get out.
She smiled at him when as she got out of the car, and as they ran to the house to get out of the rain.
The inside of the house wasn’t at all as Chloe would have expected, everything seemed so…old-fashioned. Everything she saw was dark coloured, mostly greys and blacks. There were paintings on the walls of people that looked to be in the Victorian era, and one of them men seemed disturbingly similar to Blake.
“Let’s go into the living room.” Blake said, taking Chloe’s hand, and leading her into another room.
This room was probably bigger than two of Chloe’s rooms at home, with no television just a radio and two sofas to sit on.
Sitting himself on the sofa, Blake pulled Chloe onto his lap, and quickly started kissing her again.
After freezing for a second, Chloe responded without thinking.
Chloe took a shaky breath as she felt her top being tugged down, and as Blake started placing small kisses on her neck.
Before she knew what was happening, Chloe felt a sharp sting in her neck, making her whimper, just as her world went dark.
Chapter 2
When Chloe woke she felt like the whole word had been lifted up from her shoulder, she felt energetic, so…strong. It was as if she had been carrying stones inside of her all of her life, and they had finally been taken out.
She could hear shouting closely, as if someone was having an argument in her ears, but when she opened her eyes she could see no one in sight.
What flabbergasted her was that everything looked so much vivid, and much more detailed, as if she as seeing through some sort of microscope that made her see things for what they clearly were.
Sitting up, Chloe looked around the room to see where she was, from what she could tell she was in Blake’s living room.
Just then her whole body froze, why couldn’t she remember what had happened the night before, had he drugged her, or worse…rapped her?
Following the voices that she heard before, Chloe walked into a large kitchen, and then abruptly froze.
Blake was sitting down at the table, watching a marvellous girl pace the room, looking like she could be some sort of goddess, or at least a fairytale princess with her snowy white hair, and paper white skin.
When they saw that Chloe was standing at the doorway, they both froze.
“We didn’t think you would be awake for a few more hours.” Blake told her when he finally spoke, feeling the silent gaps in the air around them.
“What happened?” Chloe croaked as tears formed in her eyes “what did you do to me?”
Instead of answering her, the girl turned to Blake and said “this is your entire fault Blake, if you had just done what I suggested we would have never even been in the predicament.”
Blake rubbed his temples and said to the girl “I don’t like to be told what to do Mary, and how on earth was I supposed to now that she was just a child.”
Chloe could feel heat rising up in her cheeks, so he had guessed her age then.
“This is why!” Mary exclaimed, pointing to Chloe’s freshly heated cheeks.
A new found confidence boiled up in Chloe, and she abruptly said “didn’t your mother ever teach you that it is rude to point.”
The two people stared at her, and suddenly Blake was laughing to death.
“You have some guts kid” he told her “I don’t think anyone has said that to her before in her life time.”
Taking a shaky breath Chloe said “I’m going home.”
Blake stopped laughing at once then told her “you can’t go home; it’s just not a possibility.”
“I wont tell anyone what has happened” she promised them, tears coming out of her eyes “no one will ever know.”
Suddenly Mary put an arm around Chloe’s shoulder and gave Blake a dirty look.
“It’s not that honey” Mary told her “we just can’t let you go…yet. There are some things that we need to discuss, and some people that you need to meet.”
More tears flooded through Chloe’s eyes, they could be rapists for all she knew, or they could be selling her to these people that they wanted her to meet!
“I promise you want get hurt” Mary said “there is something you need to know, but we can’t exactly tell you yet, we don’t know how you will react to the news.”
The worst possibilities flooded though Chloe’s mind, they might keep her in the cellar and use her to have babies so Mary wouldn’t have to get bigger, and have to go through the pain of child birth.
“I want to go home” Chloe cried “I just want to see my parents, and baby sister. Please just let me go home.”
Blake and Mary looked at each other, both looking like they were in mix minds about whether or not they should let Chloe go home.
“We can’t let her go though.” Blake finally said “If we do it will be our hearts on stake-literally!”
“You do have a point” Mary said with a frustrated sigh “but what the hell are we supposed to do in the mean time, we can’t just sit here and twiddle our thumbs can we?”
“We could always try to stop her crying for a start” Blake suggested “I don’t think they will be very pleased to know that I have chosen someone that is an emotional wreck.”
Chloe was trying her hardest to guess who he was talking about, but all she knew was that they were probably very domineering, and that they were coming there to meet her for some reason that she had not figured out yet, but from what she could tell she had been “chosen” by Blake. She also figured out that Blake thought that he ad made a mistake of choosing her, and that the people that were soon coming were going to be disheartened by his choice, which for some reason made Chloe a little but angry, how dare he think that he was too good for her!
“we should also get her cleaned up” Chloe heard Mary say “we don’t want anyone to see her looking like she has been dragged out of a ally of something like that, that would surely not go down well.”
Before Chloe had chance to protest, Mary was pulling her into the hallway, and upstairs into what looked like a small bedroom.
Once Chloe was sitting on the bed Mary said “first we need to get you all cleaned up” she pointed to a door in the room, and said “there a bathroom in there so you can have a shower. I’m going to get you some clean clothes to wear for once you have finished.”
Not wanting to spend another minute with the strangers, Chloe rushed into the bathroom, and quickly locked the door after herself.
Unfortunately there was no mirror in the bathroom, so Chloe was unable to tell how much of a mess that she looked right then.
She slowly tugged of her sweaty clothes, and got into the modern looking shower, it was probably one of the only modern things out of everything on the house.
As soon as the warm water touched her body, Chloe felt more relaxed then ever.
Being alone allowed her to be able to think more clearly and that helped her be able to try to think of a plan to get out of the house. She couldn’t just leave the house and hope that they wouldn’t catch, maybe if there was only one of them, but not when there was two people around.
Chloe jumped when she heard a banging noise coming from the door.
“Are you ready yet?” she heard Mary call her.
“Not yet” she shouted back, quickly shampooing her hair.
Once she was ready to go, Chloe used the town she found in the bathroom to cover her self up as she went into the bedroom.
Mary was waiting for her in the bedroom, with a dress in her hand.
“Who is that for?” Chloe asked, hoping it wasn’t for her.
“It’s for you” Mary said cheerfully, making Chloe even grumpier than she was before.
“You want me to wear that?” Chloe asked in total shock.
Mary nodded and told her “I will give you time to put it on, I will be in the hall if you need me.”
With that, Mary quickly left leaving Chloe and the dress alone.
Chloe put on her underwear from the night before been as that was the only thing that Mary hadn’t gotten for her, and carefully put on the dress.
It was a knee sized dress, with shoulder length sleeves, and a thin peach coloured material that Chloe hated straight away.
Chloe quickly brushed her teeth and hair with the supplies that Mary had left her on the bed, and Called Mary back in.
When she saw Chloe, Mary gave her a bright smile.
“You put it on” Mary beamed “at one point I thought you were just going to tear it to into tiny little pieces.”
Chloe wished that she had actually thought of that, it would have been a much better option then wearing the dress.
“What’s going to happen now?” Chloe whispered gently.
She was trying her hardest not to get angry been as she didn’t know what would happen if she tried to cross her kidnappers, for all she knew they might even kill her for saying one wrong word.
Mary shrugged “we just wait until our special guest arrive.” She said “then we can tell you what is going on.”
Chloe doubted that she would ever know what was going on they way that things were going on, actually if she had it her way she wouldn’t because she would be gone before they even had the chance to tell her.
“If this turns out right” Mary said, taking a seat next to Chloe on the bed “I hope that we could be come great friends.”
“That would be nice” Chloe told her, but she highly doubted that it would happen; she was leaving as soon as she could, and was never coming back!
“I have never really had a real friend before: Mary admitted “just Blake, and he is more like a big brother to me then he is a friend.”
Chloe was trying not to feel sympathetic to Mary, but it was hard not to. She had always had friends around her, and she didn’t know what to do if she had had no one at all to talk to her problems.
Just then Chloe heard voices coming from downstairs, louder than she should, as if they were standing right next to her as the spoke. Some of the voices were male, some were female, but they all held the same high authority that Chloe had ever heard on the television shows that her grandma watched before she had died of breast cancer the year before.
“That will be them” Mary said with a happy smile on her face “it also might mean that there us a chance that you get to go home soon very soon.”
Taking a deep breath, Chloe stood up, and followed Mary out into the lightness hallway.
It was time to meet the people that Chloe had feared, and she couldn’t have been more scared if she was going to have a tea party with her super strict aunty Melanie.
Chapter 3
There we only three people waiting down stairs for them, one of them was Blake.
The first was a little girl who only looked around the age of seven, with sickly pale skin, and amazing blue eyes. She stood tall long the others, as if she had more power than beyond belief. The second person was a boy; he only looked a few years older than Chloe with white-blonde hair, and a long broad body.
When Mary and Chloe walked into the living room where the guests were waiting, they all stopped what they were doing to stare at Chloe.
“Why don’t you take a picture, it lasts longer!” Chloe snapped, and looked down at her bare feet.
“Chloe this is Angelica and Damien, the people that have came a long way to meet you.” Blake said sounding annoyed at Chloe’s comment.
Chloe raised an eyebrow “they couldn’t have come that far, been as you only met me a few hours ago.”
“It’s actually been three days” Mary blurted all of a sudden “you wouldn’t remember though because you have been asleep most of the time.”
Chloe froze into place, not knowing what to make of the information that she had just been told.
Had she really been unconscious for that long and if so why hadn’t her parents been apprehensive enough to get the police to search for her? It’s not as if no one knew of a description of Blake; Judith had seen him before Chloe so she had had a pretty good look at him.
“Have you told her what is to happen yet?” the little girl-Angelica asked.
Blake shook his head and said “she knows absolutely nothing; we thought it was better if we wanted for you two to come.”
The boy called Damien nodded in approval “I think you made the right choice” he told Blake and Mary “from what I can see she is going to be a handful.”
“Can you all stop speaking about me like I am not here” Chloe screamed angrily “I can here you, and your not being very polite.”
“Calm down Chloe” Mary hissed into her ears “you do not want to get onto the wrong side of these people, believe me!”
Not wanting to hurt Mary’s feeling, Chloe shut herself up, and just listened to what the people were saying about her.
“It’s been a very long trip” Angelica said, sitting herself down on the sofa “and I am very tired indeed, so lets just get on with it shall we?”
Before she knew what was happening, Chloe was being dragged across the room, and placed on an old wooden chair.
“My parents haven’t got a lot of money if that is what you are after” Chloe whimpered “and I don’t own anything valuables that you might want.”
“Don’t be silly” Angelica laughed “we could have any jewels or gems we want, whenever we want.”
Chloe doubted it, but she decided to keep quite anyway been as they might be actually about to tell her why they were going to keep her there.
“We aren’t what you think we are” Blake said, taking a seat next to Chloe “we are much, much worse than that, we are the things that your every nightmare is made of.”
Chloe thought that he was just talking crazy been as the only type of nightmare she had was dying and not being able to go into the after world where her family and friends would be waiting for her, and she really didn’t think that was going to happen any time soon.
Chloe just gave him a doubtful look, and asked the others “is anybody going to give me a straight answer, or am I just supposed to believe your little fairytales?”
“He’s telling the truth Chloe” Mary said, taking her hand “we aren’t just making it all up, I swear on my parents’ graves!”
“Do you honestly expect me to believe you?” Chloe asked them in utter disbelief “first you kidnap me, and now you want me to believe all your nonsense, it not going to happen!”
“What can we do to make you believe us?” Blake asked her.
“I need proof” she told them “I will believe you of you give me some proof that you are remotely telling me the truth.”
The room stood still for a moment, everyone silently debating on what should happen next.
“It would be easier of we did just show her” Blake said, feeling in the silence.
“It’s not going to be me” Mary said, when she saw that Blake was looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Well it’s not going to be me either; I’m the one who had to bring her here, so it’s one of your turns to do the dirty business for a change!”
“I will do it” Damien interrupted them “been as you two are acting like little children fighting over who will eat their vegetables first.”
Damien walked towards Chloe, and crouched down in front of her.
Looking at him up and down, Chloe realized that Damien was even better looking then she first thought. He had the kind of deadly look that got girls swooning over at school. By the smile that he gave her, it seemed he knew it as well.
“First of all I don’t want you to get scared by what I am about to show you” he told her in a smooth silky voice “secondly I want you to know that I will not harm you...unless you want me to”
Chloe rolled her eyes “why on earth would I want you to hurt me?” she asked.
Damien shrugged and said “some people think pain is a misunderstood pleasure.”
Sighing, Chloe said “just show me what you wanted to show me!”
As Damien looked into Chloe’s eyes, something changed about him. His pupils started to grow bigger, and bigger until they had completely covered his eyes, turning them into two large black orbs. His skin got paler, making him look like a ghost in the midnight sky, or a virgins white wedding dress. Chloe nearly fell of her chair in fear of what happened next, to long, pointed fangs grew in the place of his lateral incisors.
Chloe rubbed her eyes to see if what she was seeing was real, unfortunately it was.
What she was seeing went against everything in her world, every single one her beliefs. Chloe had never believed in god or anything like that, to her it had always been living and dying, the picture had always been black and white with no room for improvements, so now she didn’t know what she was supposed to think. Could all the things that she had been brought up to believe be wrong, could she have been a fake world living in a land of lies? If so, why hadn’t she realized it before, shouldn’t there have been clues all around her, had she just not spotted those clues?
“What are you” she whispered, slowly moving a shaking hand so she could one of his fangs with a fingertip.
Damien looked startled by her action, but soon covered it with a series expression. If Chloe hadn’t been so petrified, she would have surely laughed at him.
After a few seconds, Damien took a deep breath and began to speak. He said “a long time ago I lived in a small village, not many people came to the village, and even fewer left. I was a stable boy back then, trying my best to earn a living to put food on the table. One night there was visitors at the village, each one looked more and more like death than the other, so people tried their hardest to stay away from them. They only stayed for a few days, and when they wanted to live they needed horses to get back to where they had come from. No other person would sell them the horses they needed; they said it would be like doing a favour to the devil himself, So when they came to me, my first instinct was to say no to them, and they should take their money else where, but they offered a large some of cash and I was in desperate need of money, so I said yes to them. They were startled at first that I had decided to sell them the horses, and they thought that I deserved more than money for going against everyone else, they thought that I deserved eternal life like them.” He paused for a second before carrying in speaking “they turned me into a vampire Chloe, and now you are one too.”
Chapter 4
Chloe laughed at his words “I’m not a vampire Damien” she told him “I think I would remember something like that happening to me.”
“It’s true” Blake announced “I turned you into one of us while you were unconscious.”
Chloe sat completely still, her breathing hard.
She was a vampire, a blood sucker, how I earth had she let this happen to herself?
If she had stayed with Judith or hadn’t gone out that night, none of this would have happened. She would have still been ordinary Chloe, without all the blood sucking, and fangs.
Clenching her jaw, she spoke through gritted teeth “what’s going to happen to me?” s asked to them “am I going to be evil-will I have to kill people by drinking their blood?”
“You will have to drink blood.” Mary said, giving her a sympathetic smile “but you don’t have to kill anyone, you could simply get blood from blood banks.”
“There is fake blood we can drink now” Angelica added with a wrinkled nose “but it doesn’t taste very nice.”
“And as for evil, well that’s up to you” Damien said “even as a human you could become human, and you chose not to, and the same rules apply now as a vampire.”
It took a couple of minutes for Chloe to digest what she had just been told, when it did she said “what about my family though? I can’t go back to them as a vampire; I could end up killing them for life’s sake!”
“You could always come with us” Angelica suggested “to fore fill the reason that you were turned into an immortal in the first place.”
“Why was I turned into a vampire anyway? Chloe asked, hoping that it wasn’t going to be something gruesome.
“the world of vampires had a vote not long ago to see if we should have a royal vampire family” Damien said “a few vampire were sent out to find some people worthy enough to be apart of that family.”
“We were them vampires” Angelica added “last week we found ourselves a worthy king, and prince. We sent Blake out to find us a queen.” She sent Blake a dirty look, then turned back to Chloe and said “and he brought us you. We weren’t looking for a princess in this royal family of ours, but been as you are far too young to be a queen, we will have to do with one.”
“What do you mean by “have to do with one”?” Chloe asked her.
Angelica gave her a bright smile and asked “Chloe, will you do us the honour of being our royal vampire princess?”
Chloe stared at Angelica, her mind racing with wild thoughts.
When she had been younger, at the immature age of six, Chloe had dreamed of being a princess out of a fairytale, like sleeping beauty, or the little mermaid. She had always known that it wouldn’t happen, but that didn’t stop her wishing on the stars every night for her to wake up in the morning in a big pink castle, with her very own prince charming waiting for her. It had been a long time since Chloe had thought about it, but all the memories were all suddenly flooding back to her. Should she except this wonderful offer, and live out one of her most treasured childhood dream, or should she say no and try to live life as normal as possible on her own with no family and no friends?
If she did go with them, would that mean that she would have a new family and have to forget about her old one?
Chloe tried her hardest to choice options, but she just couldn’t settle on one.
She could say no to the offer if she liked and then she would be able to spend eternity looking after her family and future family members. If she wanted to she could have even turned her family into vampires, so they could all be together forever.
Chloe decided she didn’t like the idea of turning her family into vampires, for all she knew she could be a soulless person, and she really didn’t want that to happen to her family. Spending eternity looking after other people didn’t sound very appealing either, but so didn’t being a vampire princess forever either!
She decided to do what she always did when she was stuck in a predicament, try to think of what her parents would do if they were her. Her mother would probably try to do the most sensible thing, so everyone would profit from what she decided. Her father on the other hand would probably grin and say “hell yes!”
“You don’t have to answer straight away” Damien told her “been as no one even knows about you yet, they can’t complain about you not answering.”
From the look on his face, Chloe could tell that he actually did want her to answer straight away, but he just didn’t want to put to much pressure on her that she would just blurt out the answer no.
Chloe sighed, and looked around the room at the other people; they were all looking at her with their faces full of hope. Knowing that they all wanted her to play a big part of their lives tugged a few strings in Chloe’s heart. Most people that she knew didn’t want her to be around for the long run, they just wanted her around for a short while until they got bored of her and moved onto somebody else to be friends with.
“Are you sure about this?” Chloe asked them “no one knows about me so you don’t have to feel obliged to stick with me.”
Mary rolled her eyes “of course we are sure and no we do not want anyone else.” She told her “we want you to be our vampire princess Chloe; you would be perfect for the job.”
The others nodded together in agreement.
“You feisty enough for the job” Angelica said “but you are also kind hearted at the same time, not a lot of people are like that anymore, so it would be very refreshing for our people.”
“your also hot enough as well” Blake told her, and when everyone have him a disgusted look he put his hands up and said “well I am sorry but it is true. It’s not like our people would want a butt ugly person for the job now is it?”
“ignore him” Mary said “he is just being in a mood because he hasn’t fed for a few days worrying about what will happen to his reputation after he mistaken a child for a grown woman.”
Chloe felt a little bit sorry for Blake, if it wasn’t for her pretending to be something she wasn’t he wouldn’t have to be stuck in this mess. He would have also been able to turn a grown woman into a vampire, and would have had a vampire queen by now, instead of a teenage vampire that was unsure on whether or not she would be able to cope with the responsibly of being a princess for the rest of her existence.
Not wanting him to be grumpy anymore, Chloe turned to Blake and said “I’m sorry for tricking you Blake, I promise never to do anything like that never again.”
“Never again is a long time when you live forever” Blake told her with a sigh “but I will forgive you anyway.”
Everyone seemed to relax then, which made it easier for Chloe to be able to think about what she should do.
She decided that she wanted to keep these kind people as friends, but she knew that they probably would not want to speak to her again if she decided to turn down their once in a life time opportunity. But she also knew that if she let with them to become a vampire princess, she would also never get to see her family ever again, she would never be able to watch films with her father, or dance around the house with her mother, there would be no more arguing with her brother about who got to sit where in the living room, however she probably wouldn’t do that anyway been as they could never see her again, and if she left now she would remember them the way she wanted to and not just dead corpses rotting away in their coffins six feet underground.
Letting out a deep breath, Chloe looked at Angelica and gave her a weak smile.
“Okay, yeah” Chloe said “yes I will be your princess.”
Everyone let out a small sigh of relief, even Blake to Chloe’s surprise.
“That is Excellent” Angelica told her, standing up from where she was sitting down on the sofa “let’s get going, we have many things that are in desperate needs of being discussed.”
Following Angelica, Chloe just hoped that she wasn’t making a terrible mistake.
Chapter 5
The first thing that they did once they were out of the house was going shopping to buy Chloe some new clothes, which wasn’t easy when it was the middle of the night so there was not a lot of shops open until morning.
“we cant go out in the daylight” Mary explained when Chloe asked her why they didn’t wait until morning “we would end up frying to death under the suns rays, and something tells me that that would probably hurt a lot.”
Chloe winced “so we are stuck living at night for the rest of eternity?” she asked them.
“It depends on if they create a sun block good enough to stop us frying” Blake joked.
“How are we supposed to go shopping then, if all the good shops are closed at night?” Chloe asked them, feeling more depressed than she had ever been before.
Shopping had always been away to get away from her troubles for Chloe, so knowing that she couldn’t go into her favourite shops made her feel like she had the world on her shoulders.
When she looked at Angelica, she saw that she was grinning ear to ear.
“There are vampire shops” Angelica explained “which are one-hundred times better than human stores.”
Looking around the abandoned town, Chloe frowned. She wouldn’t see any kind of shop that looked very vampire friendly, so where the hell was they?
“Follow me” Mary said, pulling Chloe by the hand.
They ended up going to the end of the town, wear there was only one shop open.
From what Chloe could tell it was a charity shop that raised money to give to children in poor countries.
“Are we going to shop in there?” Chloe asked in disbelief.
In her entire life, Chloe had never even stepped foot in a charity shop, let alone by clothes from one.
“Of course not” Damien said with a small chuckle “this is just a disguise for where we shop. Who would guess that a vampire would go into a shop run by a church?”
He did have a point, it was one of the last places that Chloe had thought that they would be shopping at.
“So where are we going?” she asked them.
Mary gave her a bright smile “that is a surprise” she told her.
Frowning, Chloe followed them into the charity shop where an old man was sitting on a small stool. At first Chloe thought he was just a normal person working late to earn extra money-that was before she saw that there was a sign on his tops saying “bite first, talk later”.
“Hello Derrick” Mary said giving him a nod of the head to say hello.
The old man gave Mary a sly smile “I haven’t seen you in over three hundred years child, and you have the nerve to just say hello as if there is nothing of it. I should be outraged!”
Before he could rant on any longer, Angelica stepped forward and when he saw her he closed his mouth straight away.
“It’s nice to see you have some respect left for your elders” Angelica said, not bothering to exchanging greetings with him.
“It is my pleasure to see you again Miss Angelica” he told her in a small voice “have you came here on business or pleasure?”
“It’s a mix to day” Blake said proudly “we are here to buy some clothes for the new princess.”
“I didn’t think we were going to have a princess” Derrick said with a frown.
“If you don’t believe me, see for yourself.” Mary said smugly, gesturing to Chloe.
Derrick looked at Chloe, and his eyes widened with complete utter shock.
“You majesty” he said as he bowed down “it is a great honour to have you in my shop.”
Chloe looked around at the people in the room, not knowing what to do; luckily enough Angelica had seen her distress and had decided to speak on her behalf.
“Cut it out Derrick” Angelica snapped “you are going to scare the girl into hell!”
“My sincere apologies” Derrick said to Chloe as he stood up straight.
“Shall we get going?” Mary said, looking like she was afraid that a fight was going to start between Angelica and Derrick.
“We will see you later Derrick” Blake said, not taking his eyes of Angelic, looking ready to stop a fight at any minute.
Before Chloe could say goodbye, she was being dragged by Mary to another room in the small shop.
They ended up going in the part of the shop that costumers usually weren’t allowed.
All that was there were a few shabby looking boxes piled up, and a dirty grey rug on the floor.
Chloe ended up getting more and more confused by the minute, why on earth would they want to be in there if they wanted to go shopping? From what Chloe could see, there weren’t even any clothes to buy!
“What the hell are we doing here?” Chloe hissed, pinching the tip of her noise when she started to smell the damp and mould odour that poured of the greyish walls.
“Relax yourself” Damien commanded, putting a large hand on her shoulder “we are nearly there.”
Stepping forward, Angelica lifted the rug, reviling a trapped door.
Chloe stared at the door in shock; well she hadn’t seen that one coming!
“Did you actually think that we would make it obvious to get to our shopping mall?” Mary asked with a grin. “If we made it easy to find, humans would end up stumbling in there on accident and end up telling the world our little secrets.”
Angelica opened the door to show a few old stares that led to wherever they were going.
Chloe waited last to get down stairs, feeling a little bit scared to be going underground.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs, Chloe looked around in disbelief.
It looked exactly like the mall where the humans went, except it was now full of vampires wearing gothic clothes.
Chloe felt oddly uncomfortable as she walked around with her new group of friends, she must have looked like an idiot to everyone else for wearing such girlie clothes while everyone else was wearing dark clothes.
“You two go do what boys do” Angelica said to Blake and Damien “us girls don’t need you ruining our fun!”
After looking at Angelica for a few second with annoyed expressions on their faces, the boys wondered of leaving Chloe to cope with the two girls on her own.
“Been as you will be expected to have the most fashionable clothes in the vampire kingdom we are going to take you to our top most favourite shops.” Mary said, looping her arms with Chloe and Angelica’s.
The first shop they went to was almost completely empty of people, but was full of the most beautiful clothes that Chloe had ever seen in her life; it was a shame for her that they were all dark colours, and Chloe wanted at least one item that was bright coloured. At home she had a mix range of clothes, she had dark clothes that she always wore to parties, and light coloured clothes for when she was going somewhere nice with her family. Her favourite item of clothing used to be a short hot pink dress that her mother had brought her for her sixteenth birthday.
“I don’t have any money” Chloe whispered to Mary.
“There is no point in whispering” Angelica told her “vampires can here for probably about a mile if we wanted to.”
Ignoring Angelica, Mary turned to Chloe and said “you don’t need to have money; we had a credit card especially made for us to buy clothes for the royal family-including you.”
“you probably wont need any more once everyone knows about you either” Angelica added “most people will just give you what you want, and when it comes to you two birthday’s hundreds of vampires will be giving you gifts that are worth millions!”
Chloe frowned and said “I only have one birthday.”
“You have two now” Mary explained “the day you were born into your human family and the day that you were turned into one of us.”
Chloe felt like she was about to burst with all the information that they were giving her.
“When I first came shopping here I felt overwhelmed with pride about being able to by such majestic clothing!” Mary said, eyeing some of the long ball gowns.
“Well when I first came here a realized that I was too diminutive to fit into most of the clothes” Angelica said crossly, folding her arms across her flat chest.
Chloe felt sympathy for Angelica, she would never be able live a life like a normal person, she would always be looked down on like a little child, and it didn’t matter how old her mind was Angelica would always have a body of a seven year old.
“Lets start shopping” Chloe said in a happy sounding voice, wanting to lighten the mood around them.
They spent over three hours in the mall and ended up buying more clothes than Chloe usually did in five shopping trips, most of them were chosen by Angelica and Mary though.
They ended up buying: a black tank top with the words “I don’t bite, I shred” in rich blood-red; a tear drop blood vial necklace for Chloe to carry blood in; three pairs of leather ankle boots; a long black and red reversible cape; one purple poison ring; five black long fishtail skirts, a witching hour dress; one black feather necklace; four black gypsy skirts; one ivory lace shawl; six ball and chain bracelets; a hooded velvet coat; ten satin corsets; two black Victorian lace skirts; twenty pairs of fish-net tights; three pairs of knee high boots with skull and bat buckles; a sleeveless black dress that flowed down to knee height and the rest was just underwear that Chloe got embarrassed when she brought.
When they met up with the boys, both Blake and Damien looked flabbergasted by how many shopping bags the girls had with them.
“I only bought one item” Damien told them, holding up a black shirt “and it probably cost less then half of one of your cheapest items.”
“That’s because we have more respect for the art of fashion than you do” Mary said, looking unfazed by his words.
“What are we going to do next” Chloe asked, noticing that everyone was leaving the mall.
“Do you have an uneasy feeling in your stomach” Damien asked Chloe and when she nodded he said “that is what we all get when the sun in about to rise in the sky.”
“there is a hotel somewhere around here” Angelica said, gesturing for the others to follow her “that way we fall into a death sleep on the floor, the last time I did that I nearly ended up getting staked.”
Chloe was interested in knowing what a death sleep was, but she decided that it wasn’t the right time to ask questions.
Angelica ended up leading them into what looked like a small office with the words “sleeping like the dead” on the window.
There was a woman sitting at the desk, wearing a black satin suit and typing something onto her sleek white laptop.
“May I help you?” the woman said, not looking up from the computer screen.
“I would like five of your most expensive rooms’ please” Angelica asked, looking even more child like compared to the office lady.
The woman finally looked up, and raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow “are you sure?” she asked.
“Yes I am sure” Angelica told her, handing over a credit card “it doesn’t matter what the price is either.”
The woman blinked twice then swiped the credit card.
“I hope you have a great time at ‘sleeping like the dead’ and please come again” the woman said with a hint of boredom in her voice.
“Lets home that we don’t come again” Angelica growled “for your sake, not mine!”
Angelica walked of through a glass door, and the small group of people Chloe was with followed her.
It was a long dark corridor that they ended up in, with hundreds of old wooden doors that had small silver letters on them.
“Don’t touch the Silver” Blake warned Chloe “you’ll get a serious burn from it.”
“I have the room numbers” Damien announced “been as everyone stormed of before they could hear the number.”
“Don’t get all cocky Damien!” Angelica snapped “just give us our numbers so we can go sleep in piece.”
Damien reluctantly gave everyone their door numbers and then everyone went their separate ways.
Chloe’s room was medium size, with plane black walls, dark coloured curtains and wooden flooring. There was a small glass cabinet at one side of the room with bottles of rich red coloured liquid as its contentment-Chloe wasn’t sure what the liquid was though. To her distress there was no bed in the room like she had expected, instead there was a large wooden coffin in the middle of the room, with purple sating sheets inside.
Chloe really didn’t want to be sleeping in the same thing that dead bodies usually were buried in, nor did she want to have to sleep on the floor either.
After a few minutes of debating her options, Chloe decided on where she should sleep.
She grabbed the sheets from inside the coffin and laid them onto the floor, she put down a pillow that she found as well and lied down on the sheets.
It wasn’t the most comfortable place to be sleeping, but Chloe guessed it was probably much more comfortable than lying down in a coffin or on a bare wooden floor.
Closing her eyes, Chloe wondered if the others were having better luck falling to sleep than she was, and what she would do if she had to sleep in a coffin for the rest of eternity. Then thoughts of her family came, were they all happily asleep, or were they just waking up with thoughts of there missing family member? Chloe just hoped that they were okay; she would have hated it if something had happened to her family while she had been safe and sound as a vampire princess.
Just as she was about to think about one more thing, her whole body shut down into a deep dark vampire sleep.
Chapter 6
Chloe woke up at the sound of laughing, looking up she saw Mary, Blake, Angelica and Damien staring down at her with grins on their faces.
“Why are you on the floor?” Blake asked her, looking like he was dying to laugh.
Sitting up Chloe said “I didn’t want to sleep in a coffin, that’s where dead people are laid to rest.”
“I got some new for you kid” Damien said, helping Chloe onto her fit “we are dead.”
Chloe paused for a second, she had never even thought of herself as dead, but now that she did the prospect sounded a little bit to amazing to be true.
“What are we doing today?” Chloe asked, trying to get her thoughts away from death.
“Today we are going to be going to a road trip” Angelica told her with a small shrug of her shoulders “I think it is time that you get to go see where you will be living for the next odd fifteen years-give or take that is.”
“But first there are some things we need to sort out” Mary added, then turned to the rest of the group “if would leave it would be very much appreciated-Chloe and I have some business to take care of.”
Reluctantly the group left, leaving Mary and Chloe on their own.
Without speaking, Mary walked over to the cabinet and took out a bottle of red liquid that Chloe had been wondering about before.
“I know this sound crazy, and I know you aren’t going to like the idea very much” Mary began “but I think that it is time you need to start drinking blood.”
“That’s blood” Chloe noted as she looked at the liquid in the bottle, and wrinkled her nose “and you want me to drink it.”
“You will starve without it” Mary said, handing over the bottle to Chloe.
Chloe slowly unscrewed the bottle lid, and sniffed the bottles content.
It wasn’t the nicest things she had ever smelled, but it was okay. To Chloe it smelt like hot chocolate.
Taking a big swig, Chloe gagged with repulsion.
“This is not blood” Chloe said angrily, offended that Mary had tricked her.
Mary gave her an apologetic smile “actually its fake blood and it’s the only kind that this hotel sells.”
Chloe looked at her in shock and said “are you saying this is all I can drink while I’m here?”
Mary nodded, but didn’t say anything.
Closing her eyes tightly shut, Chloe slowly took gulps of the fake blood and tried her hardest not to think about the flavour.
She had never tasted something so horrible in her life; it was like baby food formulae that were a month past its sell by date.
“I wouldn’t usually get you to drink something so horrible” Mary told her “but there are still humans walking around in the streets and been as you hadn’t fed you would have ended up ripping at least one of their throats out.”
Chloe was glad that she had drank the horrible drink, if that was that it took to stop her from killing innocent people.
“We should get going” Mary said “the others are probably wondering what we are up to by now.”
Chloe nodded in agreement as they left the hotel room.
The others were waiting for them just outside the charity shop where Derrick worked, with bored expressions on there face.”
“I thought you would have gotten changed into different clothes” Angelica said, then shook her head “actually it doesn’t matter, let’s get going.”
“That was my fault” Damien admitted “I grabbed all the bags before we left the hotel so I could put them in the car boot.”
As they walked, Chloe saw a few humans pass them.
She could hear their blood humming through their veins, calling out to her to drink, and their little hearts beating like birds wings.
Chloe felt a hand on her waist, stopping her from getting to the humans.
Looking up Chloe saw Damien give her a tight smile.
They passed three more humans through the streets, so Chloe kept her hand clenched into fists, and tried to ignore the scent or sound of the sweet blood of the humans.
As soon as they got into Blake’s car, Chloe let out a long sigh of relief.
If she had to walk past one more human, Chloe wasn’t even sure that she would have been able to hold her restrain any longer.
“don’t stress about it” Mary said when she saw the upset look on Chloe’s face “when I was first turn we didn’t have any kind of fake or bottled blood, we had to take it straight from a human body.”
“What happened?” Chloe asked.
Mary winced and said “it was horrible; we didn’t have any help or anything those days, so every time I drank I ended up killing the poor innocent human being. I probably killed over three hundred people in the first couple of months, and the more it did the more and more that I felt the animal side of me take over.”
“How did you stop yourself?” Chloe asked her, numb with shock.
“I didn’t stop myself? Mary said with a shrug “the other vampires stopped me. There is a law for us that we can only drain so many humans a year, so if I carried on draining them like I was, I would have ended being burnt to death it staked. So I chose the path of life, and tried my hardest never to kill a human again.”
“Do you regret killing the humans” Chloe asked her, but not actually wanting to know anymore of the terrible story.
Mary nodded “of course I regret it, I see them dying every time I close my eyes-it is what I dream about every time I sleep like a reminder of the terrible since that I have committed. It is one of the reasons that I don’t turn back to my old ways, I don’t want to see more innocent faces being drained of life when I fall to sleep at day.”
Chloe didn’t even know what to say.
She couldn’t even think of being over taken by such raw animal instincts that she would kill so many people in so little time without shivering. And to be reminded of there faces all day long would be like her personal hell that she would never be able to escape as long as she lived.
Not wanting to think about it anymore, Chloe put on a bright smile and said “I hope this place we are going is better than what I am picturing it to be-I have high expectations of it remember, so if you want to let me down do it now or I will have to kick some serious but when we get there.”
As she rambled on, Chloe realized that she did have high expectations of this place she was about to live in. was it going to be a castle like the royal family of films always had, or was it just going to be a regular house so people would not expect something fishy to be going on there?
Laughing at her, Blake said “well, there is no point asking now, we only have a few more minute before we get there-think of it as a surprise.”
Chloe frowned with annoyance; she was starting to hate surprises- especially when they were surprises for her.
“you will like it there” Damien reassured “just try to stay with us until you learn where everything is, we don’t want you getting lost on the first day of being there- that would be enough to put you of being there for life.”
If it was big enough for her to get lost, did that mean that there was a chance that it could be a castle of some sort?
Chloe started to shake from head to toe with sear excitement when Angelica abruptly turned to her with a smile on her little face and said “we are here.”
Home at last, Chloe thought to happily.
Chapter 7
Getting up out of the car, Chloe stared up at the building that she was going to call home with amazement.
No it was not the castle that she wanted, but it was the biggest mansion that she had ever seen!
It was over fifteen times bigger than the three bed roomed house that she had lived in with her family, with large Victorian styled windows and a giant wooden front door. There was an electric gate protecting the large property. There were probably ten gardens that Chloe could already see, each one of them filled with beautiful looking flowers: roses, bleeding hearts, cherry blossoms and calla lilies.
Chloe saw a tall man walking towards them, with an annoyed look on his expression.
The man looked like he was in his late thirties, with curly brown hair and an unshaven face.
“Why have you come here so early?” The man growled “and where is my bride to be?”
Chloe was hoping he wasn’t talking about her because she was so not going to marry him!
“We haven’t gotten you a queen yet” Angelica said through gritted teeth “but we have gotten you a princess instead.”
The man’s eyes instantly filled with joy “you have brought me my very own daughter?” he asked excitedly “who is she?”
On queue, Chloe raised her hand “That would be me sir” she said weakly.
Looking down at Chloe, the man grinned ear to ear.
“You shall call me father for now on” he told her “and what shall I call you?”
“Chloe is my name” she informed him.
Taking her by the hand, the man pulled Chloe towards the mansion.
“My name is Joseph Cooper” the man told her as they entered the mansion “my father was a blacksmith, and as you can tell I am the vampire king.”
When Chloe didn’t say anything Joseph carried on talking “I was turned into a vampire over six hundred years ago by my first wife, not long after a staked her in the heart for sleeping around with other men. I have only turned one person since I had become a vampire, and that was my second wife, we would have still been together if it hadn’t been for the vampire hunters killing her on our wedding night.”
Leading her into another room, Joseph said “this is where you will be sleeping, please make your self at home-I shall becoming back later to see if you are happy here.”
Once Joseph left, Chloe had chance to really look around.
This room wasn’t black like the hotel room; this one had blood red wallpaper and what looked to be mix of red and purple coloured carpet. What made Chloe grin was that at one wall there was a giant king size bed with pale red silk sheets. There were two gigantic wooden wardrobes at one side of the room, and when Chloe opened them one was full of magnificent ball gowns, and the other dark coloured casual clothes. It reminded Chloe that she needed to go fetch her own clothes soon. Chloe was surprised there was a mirror on the-the one thing that Chloe hadn’t seen since she had been turned.
As she looked at herself in the mirror, Chloe gasped.
Her skin was no longer the beautiful tanned kind that she had grown to love; it now looked sicklier pale than a corpse’s body did. Her eyes were bright but cold giving her the scary kind of effect. And her blonde hair looked almost like the colour of the sun, but with a shade of white-blonde mixed in. Chloe looked younger than she usually did, almost child like. She was also so thin that she could almost see her own bones.
When she heard voices coming from the door way, Chloe turned around with tears in her eyes.
It was Mary at the door, and when Chloe saw her she said “I look like I am starving to death.”
Mary winced at her words “don’t worry” she said “it will go once you start drinking blood, I promise. The same thing happened to me when I changed, but a lot worse.”
“I don’t want to look like this.” Chloe cried.
Sighing Mary said “come with me, I know what to do.”
Quickly Chloe followed Mary into a room down the hallway from her new bedroom.
Without knocking on the door, Mary entered the room.
It was a much smaller room that Chloe’s bedroom, with only one tiny bed, a small metal wardrobe to fit clothes in.
Sitting on the bed was a short woman with curly brown hair and sun kissed skin reading a hair and beauty magazine.
“This is Sandy the blood donor” Mary told Chloe “she will let you feed on her without a fight as long as you don’t try to drain her or take too much.”
Chloe realized what was happening and said “I can’t take her blood Mary, it wouldn’t feel right.”
“Don’t worry about me honey” Sandy purred, and laid the magazine flat on the bed “bite all you like.”
Chloe stared at the woman in shock, did she really want Chloe to drink her blood.
“Just try it” Mary pleaded “and if you don’t like it you could always stop at ay time.|
Sitting on the bed next to Sandy, Chloe could here the human’s blood singing to her to be drunk.
Chloe could feel her fangs popping out, and she carefully touched the tips of them with her tongue.
When Sandy tipped her head back, showing her lovely neck, Chloe automatically let her fangs sink into the woman’s skin.
Blood pumped into Chloe’s mouth almost instantly, and the sweet taste took over Chloe’s mind. There were no words to describe the taste, it was like honey but more delicious and less sickly. It was so good that Chloe was suddenly glad she had become a vampire, just so she could have experienced that one special moment of utter joy. If it wasn’t for the fact that it was blood, Chloe would have said that it was the drink of the heavens. When Chloe gave a hard such, she felt hands on her shoulder pulling her of Sandy.
Turning around, Chloe smiled at Mary and said “thank you.’
Looking back at the human Chloe saw that Sandy was falling to sleep on her small bed.
“You should be going to bed as well” Mary told her, helping Chloe to her feet “the sun will becoming out in less than eleven minutes, and we aren’t even prepared.”
Nodding silently, Chloe headed back into her bedroom.
As she lay on her bed, Chloe realized that it had been one of the most adventures weeks that she had ever had in her entire time of existence.
When she was younger she had imagined what it was like to be able to do so many wonderful and new things in such a short time, and still have time to do more, and now she realized that it was possible, that she could spend her time exploring the new world, and still have a lifetime worth of time left to do whatever else she wanted to do before she left the earth to go into the world of the dead- that is if she ever got there.
As she closed her eyes, Chloe slowly drifted of into a peaceful sleep, thinking about what wonderful things that she was now able to do, that she would never been able to do before she had been a vampire, and all the things that she could not do now that she was a vampire.
Chapter 8
Chloe had only been awake for an hour, and already she wanted to go back to bed.
As a vampire princess she was expected to sit on a throne for two hours a day so people could go and watch her sulking in the big ball room.
There were over three hundred people that had arrived that day just to see her; apparently there were a lot of vampires that were excited to be finally getting themselves a vampire royal family. People had come from around the globe to the mansion, some of them she couldn’t even understand what they were saying so she had to get help from angelica to help translate what the foreign people had said.
There were two things that Chloe had learned about the vampires around her: they were all beautiful in their won special way; they all thought very highly of themselves.
“I’m bored” she complained to her new brother Dylan.
Dylan was twenty year old that has only been changed a few months before Chloe had, he was an average height person, with dark green eyes, and pitch black hair. From what Chloe had learned, Dylan had willingly chosen to be a vampire so he would finally be able to have the family and the respect that he had always craved for.
Dylan put an arm around Chloe shoulders and said “calm down aright, we probably only have about half an hour left, its not like its going to kill you to sit here is it?”
“That’s only because I am already dead!” Chloe muttered to herself, putting a grin onto Dylan’s face.
“We aren’t dead” Dylan told her innocently “we have just been reborn it to a better, stronger race.”
Chloe didn’t even try to argue, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to change his mind, and even if she could she still didn’t want to be the one to hurt his feelings.
Just then there was a noise from outside, and Angelica stood up excitedly?
“What’s going on?” Chloe asked, unhappy all the attention was of her.
“We have found a queen at last.” Angelica said.
As the ballroom door swung open everybody watch in awe.
A woman in her late twenties walked in with so much confidents that it was oozing of her. She had waist length red hair that danced around with the wind like flames. Her small frame showed no sign of weakness, just undefeatable power that she possessed within her. Without looking at the people around her, the woman walked straight towards the thrones, and silently placed herself on the one next to the king.
Chloe looked around in complete and utter shock, was this supposed to be her new mother? Did she even have a motherly bone inside her?
To answer her question, the woman turned around and gave a fake smile and said “just so we are clear, where I am from children are meant to be seen and not hear.”
Gulping down on the lump in her throat, Chloe realized something that she had never even thought of before.
She really was in a vampire’s world.
