Locked Secrets
A Story Made Like A Poem
The Thin flexible cover twisted underneath my fingers,
making a chill run down my spine,
the cold embrace it was giving the paper made me excited to open up these forgotten memories.
The Lock stood still, waving occasionally while I walked,
Shining in the light It felt like I was trying to make myself blind,
I looked forward with hopes and dreams,
only too see a great table,
almost as tall as myself.
Being the anxious person I am I tore the key away from my pockets grasp,
with a large grin I put the key in gently,
trying not to break the ever so gentle lock.
I twisted my wrist,
My hand swaying at the same time,
a right grasp remained on the key,
I saw a flash of a hard to describe color as it unhooked itself from the strap it was holding onto.
Shock took over my face as I saw the greatly dim world become a flash of color,
I saw my fifth birthday,
I saw the day I got my cat Felix,
I saw my parents staring down at me,
I saw all my friends I greatly missed in a presentation of memories.
Flicking through the pages of the old and forgotten years of my life,
I smiled,
I laughed,
I hated the day I stopped writing.
I picked up a pencil,
I scribbled a few lines,
My handwriting touching lines as colors flew from my pencil,
I saw the memories fly from my pencil,
My latest Birthday,
My Cat curling up with me,
I laughed as the colors hit the black and white world I was in,
I laughed as my friends came into view from my memories.
I closed the book,
The book giving a warm embrace too the paper,
Happiness ran through my body,
The cover warm with my touch,
I smiled and walked away.
