My Travels

Sometimes I wonder how on Earth I have ever gotten here.
I had to be crazy.
I left my parents, my minimal belongings, my friends and my existence back in the old country.
Risking years in prison, ridicule, rejection, I sneaked and crawled across the border of countries, societies, ideas and potentially even bullets.
I had no vision of the future only the bleak image of the past.
I left no hopes behind, but had undefined hopes of what lied ahead.
I learned that leaving behind the certainty of eternal bondage is worth all risks.
Now I can breath freely.

When I walked into Scott’s Restaurant with Ann for a casual weekday dinner, I had no idea that my life was about to change forever.
Ann spotted her friend Mary having dinner there with an acquaintance and we were soon invited to join.
It took me only seconds to look into Mary’s blue eyes and my heart went into orbit around her.
All others in the world became suddenly inconsequential and now roadblocks to be dealt with.
Within a few days I let Ann go and called the unsuspecting Mary.
Today Mary and I are celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary.

If you never played golf, you may not know this fact: golf mirrors one’s true ways in life.
If you play golf with someone you have never met, in four hours you will know most everything about him or her.
All of life’s pleasures, rewards and frustrations will be mirrored in the mind during a round of golf.
How someone reacts to any given situation on the golf course is a pixel perfect image of the person’s attitude to all things ever happening. The character of the person as a golfer is the character of the person as a human.
