Introduction

Many of us do not understand why we are here on earth, therefore, we settle for careers that have nothing to do with our destiny, whereas God is interested in our destiny and His intention for each and every one of us. This book is focused on the plan of God for all humanity. It does not matter what race, gender, how rich or poor some of us or most of us are. God has a good plan for all of us. It does not even matter what is going on in this world because it is all going to change. It is time we stopped blaming God, situations or even people for what is happening in our personal lives. It is time to find out why the earth, everything on it and humans were created. I have only one word for you concerning this: “kingdom.” But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you, Matthew 6:33, KJV.

Jesus Christ preached one message: The Kingdom of God. Jesus traveled throughout Galilee teaching in the synagogues, preaching everywhere the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed people who had every kind of sickness and disease, Matthew 4:23, NLT. He even sent His disciples to preach the same message. Jesus sent the twelve disciples out with these instructions: Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but only to the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep. Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near, Matthew 10:5-7, NLT. He then illustrated on how to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  See Matthew 24:14, NLT.

Apostle Paul also preached about the Kingdom of God. Then Paul went to the synagogue and preached boldly for the next three months, arguing persuasively about the Kingdom of God, Acts 19:8, and NLT. See Acts 28:23 & 31, NLT. What I am saying dear brothers and sisters, is that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, 1 Corinthians 15:50, NLT.

What is a Kingdom?

According to the Oxford Dictionary, a kingdom is a territory (extent of the land under the jurisdiction of a ruler) or State ruled by a king or queen. It is a domain (area under one rule and control). It is the division of the natural world. It is a spiritual reign or sphere of God.

If you look closely at this meaning, it is clear that a kingdom has two realms. It has the natural realm and the spiritual realm. This is what I am going to talk about in this book:  The natural and spiritual kingdom and the people ruling these two kingdoms.

In the natural realm a kingdom is a land, meaning a part of the earth’s surface, ground or soil that is not covered by sea. In the spiritual realm it will be individual gifts and ministries, particularly in the church.

Therefore, a kingdom is a territory that is owned by a person. This is where my focus is, that a kingdom is not people who are ruled by a king or person, but it is a territory that is owned or ruled by a person. What I am saying is that no man is supposed to rule another man, not even the government. The government was meant to rule the country’s affairs and take care of the nation’s needs, not necessarily to rule the people directly. I say this because there is no nation that can operate without some sort of leadership, which is the government. However, every man has a kingdom (territory) to rule, and by saying man it is not with the exclusion of women.

I want to make this very clear because people have the tendency to think or even believe that they are supposed to rule over other people. That is why we have abuse and misuse because whenever one person rules another, somewhere; somehow, there will be abuse, misuse, overpowering, manipulation and everything in between.

Field of Work

Earlier on we broke down the meaning of kingdom until we got to understand that it literally means land or territory.

We know that when you own a land you can actually use it for anything you want, as long as it is not illegal of course. You can build a house on it; you can turn it into a farm or build a building for business on it. You can do anything with it freely because it belongs to you and nobody can stop you or even tell you what to do with it because it is your own territory and you have full ownership of it. Though, due to sin and its results, this was turned into a business for our local municipality. Now you have to pay municipality fees or levies for a land and property that you own. I will not get into this but it is true.

Another word that also means land is “field”, and in this chapter I want to use the word field instead of land because land will restrict me to anything that has to do with ground and soil. I want to go beyond ground and soil in fully explaining the concept of a kingdom. In other words, a field is comprised of land for work because you have to sweep and water it at times. So, a land, territory or kingdom, which ever term you want to use, is a field of work and I want to talk more about this concept ‘field of work’.

We all know that here in South Africa, I don’t know about the rest of the world though, when you go to grade ten, you have to choose subjects which corresponds with the course that you want to do in tertiary level, which will eventually lead you to a career or field of expertise you will make a living off. For instance, if you want to do Science and Medicine, you will have to choose subjects like Science; Biology; Mathematics and one other subject besides English and Afrikaans, which are compulsory. If you want to pursue Business and Commerce, you will have to take subjects like Business Economics; Economics; Accountancy and Mathematics as your major subjects. During grade eight and nine, you were with the same classmates all the way because all of you did all those subjects together. Now you will have to temporarily or even permanently separate with others according to the choice of subjects you want to do.

When you get to tertiary level, you have to be precise in choosing the course for a career or field of work you want to operate in. You find yourself separated from the people you went to school with because you are now focused on your own future. You are now doing a unique course with some people pursuing the same field of work as you. You choose a course for the career path that you love and passionate about and also expresses who you are as an individual.

The field of work you operate in is that very thing that only you can do and excel in very well. There may be other people who are in the same field of work as you are, but they will most probably not operate in it the same way as you do. It is not about other people in that field of work but it is about you because you are your own person and exceptional in that particular field. Our field of work as believers is spiritual; however, it has to be manifested in the flesh. Our fields of work are spiritual gifts and different ministries, but they are seen with the naked eye. Our field of work is not limited to church work only. There are spiritual gifts that also operate in the world as much as in the church. Gifts like Administration; Wisdom; Leadership; Knowledge; Giving; Mercy and few others. So whether in the church or in the circular world your field of work is your kingdom and you have to rule it. Do you understand what I am trying to say to you about the field of work?

The next chapter is perhaps the most significant of this entire book. If you miss anything else in this book, do not miss the message in this chapter because everything revolves around it. I hope you are ready for this because it is going to change your life and those around you forever.

The Original Intention of God for Us

I am very overwhelmed and burdened to write about this chapter because it is very sensitive. I am talking about what God had in mind when He created the earth for us. This is a huge honor and responsibility on my shoulders because I am either going to make this or break this. Nevertheless, this is what I am persuaded to write about and it is going to bless your life more than anything else in this world. This is as true as it will ever be, and you better believe it. I am not trying to convince you, but you will see it based on the Scriptures that I back it up with that it is based on the Word of God and not my opinion only. I will give it my level best because it is hard for me to write this truth as it is something you do not often hear about from sermons in the church or anywhere else in the world. Every other chapter in this book is just to give you physical evidence and reference to what I am writing about in this chapter. I will give you lots of Scriptures to best support this truth because I cannot give you anything else outside of the Holy Scriptures.

The world and the church has expressed and proclaimed their opinions about the plan of God for mankind. However, to really understand the intention of God for us we have to go to the beginning and find out what the real truth is about the plan of God for us. The best place to get this truth is to go to the Word of God, and particularly the book of Genesis.

From Genesis 1:1-25 God created the heavens and everything in it, and the earth and everything on it. Did God create the earth for Himself or for us? If He created it for Himself, then why are we the ones who are living on it and not Him? Can you build or do something that you are not going to have or do anything with? Clearly, the earth must have been created for us. The reason I say this is because God is a Spirit, and He does not need water, food, shelter, clothes or any such thing. What were all these things for if He does not need them? We are the ones who need these things to live so they must have been created for us. From verses 26-30, He created humans for all that He had created beforehand. Look at verses 29-30: And God said, “Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plants throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given all the grasses and other green plants to the animals and birds for their food.” God made food out of seeds and fruits for us to eat, and He made grass and plants for the animals to eat as well. We were not meant to starve at all because God provided food for us in the beginning. In fact, we were created not to lack anything in life because the earth had everything we could ever need and want. The animals were not meant to eat humans or other animals for that matter. In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard and the goat will be at peace. Calves and yearlings will be safe among lions, and a little child will lead them all. The cattle will graze among bears. Cubs and calves will lie down together. And lions will eat grass as the livestock do. Babies will crawl safely among poisonous snakes. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes
