“Beep Beep Beep.” I woke up with a start. Where was I? More importantly, who am I? What is that furry living little fellow sleeping next to me? I look around the room. I saw a sign above my bed with the name Vanessa. That sounds familiar. I see a collar with a tag on the animal with the name Oscar. That’s a nice name. The room, which I think is my room, is painted with a light lavender color. The living creature was brown in color. As I thought about the animal, my memories come back in flashes. I found out that this happens often, especially when I just wake up. Most people get confused when they wake up. I remember that my name is Vanessa, that my religion was Christian, I lived in a house located in Catawba Street, North Carolina, and the furry animal is Oscar. Oscar. Did I adopt him? Staring at Oscar, it took me back to 5 days ago, when I first saw him. I was walking to school when I saw a poodle. He had a skinny belly, and he was always scampering around, looking for food. Every time I saw him, I felt really sorry for the cute little guy. One day I couldn’t take it anymore, so I took him home and named him Oscar. At first my mom was furious at me, since I didn’t ask for permission to keep him, but once she saw how sweet he was and how much he needed me, she let him stay. I snapped out of my memories. One glance at the clock next to my bed and I leap out of bed, trying not to wake Oscar up. My clock read 7:30, which meant that I was late for school! Oh no! I threw
