Sometimes I feel,
Like I’m on fire.
Sometimes I burn,
The things I desire.
That won’t stop me,
From burning higher.
You can’t take pain,
Away from my fire.
Won’t you see me,
As I am?
Can’t you love me,
As I am?
Won’t you hold me,
As I am?
For I am me,
The burning fire.
Why won’t you hold me,
The fire that hurts.
I’ll wait for you,
I’ll wait for my desires.
Then you came along,
To show me the world.
I began to burn higher,
Till you put me out.
I grew too dangerous,
To learn what love is about.
You left me there,
To sizzle down.
I was a flame,
That grew into fire.
I lived long enough,
To love the water.

Widmung:
I dedicate this book to my brain for realizing that fire doesn't always have to be about heat and desire.
