In Silence, you & I fight
Emotional pain screams “I’m Right!”

Harshly perceiving words missaid
Misjudging the motives behind each word

Painful memories embrace each deed
Goodwill crushed beneath a dark steed

Pain’s fierce wolves snarl & bite
Confusion and tears fill my sight

Forgotten scars cut deep
Endless nights spent without sleep

Frustrated by cold indifference and apathy
Consumed by depression and misery

Angry pride fills our hearts
Deeply wounded, it stings and smarts

Inflamed hearts feel each slight
Understanding and trust take winged flight

Friendship drifts apart
Hard and bitter grows my heart

Fears and words left unspoken
Chances to reach each other, not taken

Icy mirrors show the fool
Torrents of heartache and anguish pool

Aching sorrow fills the heart
The bonds of relationship slashed apart

Words of pain can’t be undone
Tattered trust blows cold upon

Two cold hearts wandered
Remembering warm friendship squandered

Voices whisper, “I’m sorry”
Haunting echoes on Stones Quarry
