I’m hanging out with my best friend, Raven. Well actually my only friend. Even though I’m really pretty I choose to be a loner and only have one friend.
We were discussing how we were gonna manage the school papers. We both are the school secretaries for 10th grade class representative. We have to manage papers for the meeting tonight. We each got a set of these packages of different pieces of paper for the meeting.
When we were about to start arguing I felt someone staring at me. I turned around to see a guy I’ve never seen before staring at me like I’m some freak. I glared at him and turned back around.
Raven was watching me.
“He better stop staring at you or the cheerleaders will get mad at you”
I laughed.
“Yea like I’m afraid of them”
And as if on cue the cheerleaders came up to me. The head cheerleader is Melanie and in my opinion the only reason why she’s head is because she’s the sluttiest.
“You won’t get the new guy” she said as if she knew for sure.
“Why does it bother you?”
“No I just know he won’t go out with a virgin. He seems like the kind to go after girls who have experience”
“Yea like you”
I can see the anger in her eyes.
“Unlike you I want to have sex with a guy that’ll I have a future with not just some guy that throws themselves at me”
“Looks like little virgin is gonna have trouble with that cause even though your pretty no guy likes you”
“I’ve had plenty of boyfriends just so you know slut. And for your information if you think you can come over here and make me scared, you must be pretty desperate cause the only thing I’m scared of is how much damage I can do to someone who gets on my nerves.”
“Oh yea bring your brother into this. Just because you have a brother that knows how to fight you think you’re so bad”
“My brother’s not the only one in the family that can beat the crap out of people. Guess you should have done more research about me and know that the only reason I moved here when I was 10 was because I sent a little girl to the hospital” I said and watch as she went pale.
“You don’t want to mess with me bitch” I said then went into the school with Raven following me.
“Wow Demon that was so awesome how you stood up to Melanie like that”
Yep that’s my name Demon. My birth parents named me Demon. I’ve never met them because they abandoned me at the hospital right after I was born. When I was 5 I was adopted.
“That bitch has pushed me too far this time and I’m sick and tired of her”
“Is it true that you’re a virgin?”
“Oh yea. Unlike Melanie I don’t throw myself at guys”
We arrived at my locker. I opened it and grabbed my book for the next four periods. After my locker we went to Ravens.
“So what did you do to the girl when you were ten?”
“I pushed her down the stairs then punched her perfectly white teeth right out of her mouth”
“Why?”
“She made me mad by stealing the most important from me”
“What was that?”
“My necklace”
“What’s so important about that necklace?”
“It was a present from my birthparents. The hospital told me that they put it on me as soon as I was born”
“Did you get it back?”
“Yep”
I look around to make sure no one was looking and then I reached into my backpack and took out my pencil case. I opened it and took out my necklace. It was small so it fit me like a bracelet now.
It was covered with diamonds and aquamarine stones. In the center of every stone is either a purple or black stone. They were so tiny you could barely see them but you could totally notice that they were there.
I quickly put it back in my pencil case. We went to first period which luckily we have together. We sat in the back.
“So what do you think about the new guy?”
“He is hot and seems like he can get any girl without even trying. Just like my last boyfriend”
“Oh yea what was his name?”
“Tyler”
“What school did he go to?”
“He goes to college”
“You serious!” she said loudly. Everyone looked at us. I shushed her.
“Yea”
“How did you two hook up?”
“Please don’t make me talk about it cause he is the last person I want to think about”
“Why what’d he do?”
“He wanted to have sex, I didn’t, he hit me” I whispered.
“Oh my gosh Demon that is serious”
“Please just leave it. It’s no big deal anyways I dumped him as soon as he did it”
The teacher walked in and we stopped talking cause the new guy was right behind her. Believe it or not but I have English right now.
“Everyone this is Ian. He is our new student. Ian why don’t you tell everyone a little something about yourself”
“Ummmm. …my name is Ian Lockhart. I moved from Illinois and I have two sisters”
“Very good Ian now take your seat.. there’s one seat over in the back”
And it’s right next to me. I turned to Raven. ‘When did you and Tyler break up?’ she mouthed.
‘two days ago’ I mouthed and unfortunately Raven yelled “What?!!!” out loud. Everyone turned to us.
“Raven is there something you would like to share to the class”
“No”
“Very well then one more interruption and you will have a detention”
I glared at Raven.
For the rest of class Raven tried to get me to show her where he hit me but I kept telling her at lunch. She finally give up when the teacher announced that we were gonna have new reading partners. I snapped my head to her because she knows I don’t talk to anyone.
“Well actually only two of you are getting new partners”
“Raven you will be with James and Demon you will be with the new kid Ian”
“But…” I started.
“No buts Demon”
“Now everyone get with your partner and discuss the book that you are reading”
I moved my desk so I was facing Ian. He did the same thing.
I took out my book which has about 500 pages. He took out a book about half the size of mine.
“Big book” he said.
I just looked at him I realized I was making him uncomfortable so I stopped.
“Look lets just get one thing straight you don’t bother me and I don’t bother you” I said.
“Okay?” he said unsure at what I just said. As I crossed my arm. As I did I touched my bruise on my arm. I closed my eyes and uncrossed my eyes.
“So why is your name Demon?”
“Ask my birthparents”
“Why?”
“Cause I have no clue now back to the assignment” I said changing the subject.
“I am reading a book about how a girl moves into a haunted house and a ghost convinces her to help him look for a secret treasure in the house but it turns out a way to make him alive again”
“Cool I’m reading a book about how a girl has to go through the hardships of never knowing who her friends really are”
“I’ve read that already”
“Can you tell me how it ends?”
“Then that’ll take the surprise away”
The bell rang.
“Come on not even a little hint”
“Sorry maybe next time or when you finish the book”
I left with him staring at me. I went to history where I presented my project and got an A. After history I went to science where I blew up two chemicals. In math I found out I aced the test.
Finally it was time for lunch. At lunch I ate with Raven and then we both went to an empty bathroom so I could show Raven the bruise on my arm. When I showed her she freaked.
“That is the biggest bruise I have ever seen what did he hit you with a car?”
“Actually he hit me with my book”
“How?”
“My backpack was right next to us so he reached in, grabbed it, and hit my arm”
“Whoa”
“Hey can I see your necklace/bracelet again?”
“Sure”
I got my pencil case and opened it but I froze as I saw there was nothing in it.
“Where is it?” I said.
“Did you misplace it?”
“No….I put it right back in my pencil case”
“Come on lets go back to the cafeteria and see if it slipped out of your bag”
We went back and searched under the table. When we searched I noticed Melanie with her group of skanks. They were admiring Melanie. I looked at what they were looking at and got angry.
I went to her. I grabbed her wrist and saw my necklace/bracelet. She snatched her wrist back.
“Where did you get that?” I said pointing to the bracelet.
“My mom gave it to me”
“That’s mine” I said.
“Your lying”
“No that’s mine and if it was yours then how come you weren’t wearing it this morning”
“I didn’t feel like putting it on”
“Give it back” I said angrily.
“I didn’t steal this from you it’s mine”
“It is mine and I can prove it to you” I grabbed her wrist and took off her bracelet. I turned it inside out and showed her where my initials were.
“See D.C. my initials”
“That doesn’t prove anything”
“My initials being on a bracelet that I’ve had for sixteen years then out of nowhere you get the exact same bracelet with the same exact initials. I don’t think it’s a coincidence”
“Yea well….”
“Well what? You better have a good explanation”
She was lost for words.
“That’s what I thought” I said then started walking away. Melanie caught up and snatched my bracelet away from me. I clenched my hands into fists. Raven came over to me seeing my mood.
“Give me back my bracelet” I snarled.
“It’s not yours it’s mine”
“Give it back to me before someone gets hurt” I said again.
“It’s mine”
I grabbed her hand that held my bracelet and yanked it out put it in my pocket.
“Last girl who took my bracelet away from me she got sent to the hospital” I said then went away while her friends comforted her and calmed her down saying they’ll do something about it.
During seventh period the office called for me. I just know what this is about. In the office I went into the principal’s where Melanie was sitting there in a chair crying.
“Demon sit down” I sat.
“Now Melanie says that you stole her bracelet”
“She stole my bracelet I was getting it back”
“That’s not her and her friends say”
“Who are you gonna believe the head cheerleader or the straight A student?”
“In this case Melanie”
“But she’s lying”
“Prove it” the principal said.
“What colors are on the bracelet?” I asked Melanie
“Blue and white”
“What colors are the stones in the middle?”
“What stones in the middle?”
“The purple and black stones in the middle”
I showed the principal the bracelet.
“Well what do you have to say for yourself Melanie?”
“I, uh, I….”
“That’s what I thought” I said.
“Demon you can go back to class with your bracelet while I deal with Melanie”
I put the bracelet on and went back to class.
In eighth period Raven and I sorted the papers in alphabetical order then talked about what happened between me and Tyler.
“So has he tried to get you back yet”
“Yep. Yesterday he texted me like 50 times. I blocked his number” the bell rang and we went to the meeting. After the meeting we waited outside for our rides. When we were waiting my phone rang. I didn’t know the number so I answered it.
“Demon?” Tyler said.
“Tyler! How?”
“I used my buddies phone as soon as I figured out you blocked my number. How could you do that to your boyfriend”
“I broke up with you remember”
“Do we have to break up?”
“Yea Tyler we do”
“Why?”
“Cause I hate you” I said loudly into the phone.
I saw Ian nearby and I noticed he was listening to my conversation. I glared at him. He walked away a little bit.
“Why won’t you reconsider?”
“Cause I will never go out with you again get that through your thick skull”
“You are such a bitch!”
“And you’re such a bastard!” I said then hung up.
Ian came over.
“Boyfriend?”
“Broke up with him two days ago due to a little accident”
“You caught him cheating?”
“Yea sure”
“So you wanna go to a party with me later?”
“What?” I said.
“I said you wanna go to a party with me later?”
“No”
“Come one why not?”
“Cause I don’t go out with guys like you anymore”
“Why not?”
“Cause you’re exactly like the guy I just dumped. You only want to get laid with a pretty girl”
“Ow harsh”
“Truth hurts”
“I’m not like that”
“Prove it”
“How?”
“Tonight at the party”
“Wait your going with me”
“No but I’m going”
“How do you know about it?”
“I’m the sister of the guy who’s throwing the party”
“You’re Damon’s sister?”
“Oh yea. If you prove to me that you’re not who I think you are then maybe I’ll give you a chance” I said then got into the waiting car. The car belonged to me but I let my brother use it.
He was driving but unfortunately he had some of his buddies with him so I has to go in the back. He raced home going way over the speed limit. When we got home Damon started organizing the house for the party while Raven came over and we got ready for the party. He has to let me go or else I would tell on mom and dad. I chose black skinny jeans, turquoise tank top made of silk, and I put on some black high heels with about a 1 ½ in. heel. I put on blue eyeshadow and black eyeliner. When I was done I put on my bracelet to complete my look. With my black hair, blond tips and blue highlights it worked.
Raven put on some white skinny jeans, black tank top, and some black high heels the same as mine. She put her blond hair with black tips and red highlights up in a bun. She put on some gray eyeshadow, black eyeliner and one of my bracelets. We both looked hot.
As we were walking down the stairs Damon’s friends turned to look at us. Even Damon was impressed how we look.
“Whoa you two look like you could pass for seniors” Alec said.
“Good” Raven and I said together.
“So when does the party start?” Raven asked her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is Blake. He’s one of Damon’s friends. I introduced them and ever since they’ve been together. Blake went over to Raven and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“In a couple minutes”
“Good”
I went to the kitchen to see if I could get anything to eat before the party started but Damon was in there waiting for me.
“We need to talk about you and Tyler”
“There’s nothing to talk about. I broke up with him two days ago”
“Really?!!!”
“Yea I don’t want to see that bastard anymore so if he comes tonight be prepared to clean up a fight”
“Demon please don’t do this”
“Too bad. He should never have wanted to have sex with me” I said then went to answer the door. The doorbell rang again.
“Coming” I yelled. When I finally got there I opened the door and let in people. They greeted me cause they know how I look like at parties but people from my grade are gonna be here and they’ve never seen me dressed up for a party.
By the time they started coming the place was only half full. It was a good thing that the house is big because by the time everyone was here the house was packed and the backyard had only a few people but soon everyone is gonna move out back to get less crowded.
I saw Ian so I went over to him. He looked like his eyes were gonna pop out of his head when he saw me making my way to him. When I got there him and his friends were all staring.
“Hey” I said.
“Hey I’m Ian”
“So what’s a guy like you doing at this party?”
“Hanging with my friends getting to know the town. I just moved here”
“Oh that’s cool. I think I’ve seen you around school”
“Really cause I haven’t” Ricky said.
“Oh really. I know all of you know me”
“Nope I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before either” Gavin said.
“Think about it”
After a minute or two nobody said anything. They were still thinking.
“Well I gotta go my brother’s waiting for me”
“Who’s your bro?”
“Damon” I said then left as they looked at me shocked. I went over to Raven and we laughed as I told her what happened.
“So where’s Blake?” I asked.
“He’s over by his friends”
“Do you two love each other?”
“Well we’ve only been dating for 6 months but I love him. He hasn’t said anything yet but I want him to say it first”
“That’s cute”
Blake came over to us.
“Mind if I steal my girlfriend for a while”
“Take her away” I smiled as I watched they made their over to the couch to make out. Then I noticed Ian making his way to me.
“You look great Demon” he said.
“Thanks you do to”
“I never knew how pretty you were before you put that on”
“So you’re just saying that because you thought I looked ugly before”
“No that’s not what I meant. What I meant was that you look even prettier with that outfit on”
“Ok thanks. Now remember what I said I’ll be watching you” I said then made my way over to the dance floor.
“Yo Tommy come dance with me” I yelled to him. He left his friends and came over.
“Fred music please” I yelled to Fred who’s the dj. The song changed and Tommy started dancing.
I joined him as soon as he signaled me over. I love to dance. Raven and Damon think I should be in the dance squad but I only like to dance for fun. Tommy and I are kind of like dance partners I always practice my new dance moves with him and teach him a thing or two.
As we were dancing he started to break dance so I stood aside to watch his new moves. They were awesome. I joined him as I realized that he wanted me to follow his lead. I can do the same moves and more but I can’t do them in high heels. So I let him finish his break dancing and joined him again when he started to dance back on his feet.
This time I started to dance like we were in a club which is how everyone was dancing like but I dance like no one has seen before. As I was about to make my final move Tommy grabbed my arm with the bruise and I shied away. I did another move and the song ended. We were rewarded with applause.
“Thanks Tommy” I said then I went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. I drank it all in one sip and thought about the bruise on my arm. I wouldn’t be able to hide it much longer. I made my way to my room and started to put more make up on my arm to hide it.
When I was done the room opened and I quickly shut my makeup kit. I turned and around and froze. Tyler was standing there angry.
“Tyler what are you doing here?”
“I want you back. Please Demon I love you”
“I don’t love you Tyler so just go before I hurt you”
“Not until you take me back”
“No Tyler!” I yelled. I stood up and made my way to him.
“I will never take you back” I spat in his face.
He slapped me hard across the face. Then I lost him I tackled him out of my room. I got on top of him and punched him. It was a good thing no one was up here. He pushed me off and punched my stomach. We were making our way to the stairs. I kicked him in the chest and he staggered back a bit. I ran for the stairs.
But before I got there he grabbed my hair and pulled me back. I screamed as he did it. I elbowed him and reached the stairs. But he was too fast and knocked me down. I fell down the stairs. Tyler was right behind me. At the bottom of the stairs I could feel pain in my back and the back of my head.
When I saw Tyler looking down at me I punched him in the nose. I got back up and starting beating the crap out of Tyler. I got him onto his stomach and held his arms behind his back painfully.
“Demon get off of me” he yelled.
“When I do get the hell out of my house and never talk to me again” I said then let go but that was a big mistake because then he punched me. Before I could do anything Damon grabbed me from behind.
“Alec, Gavin, Tommy, get Tyler out of here now”
Alec, Gavin, Tommy kicked Tyler out of the house then when they did Damon let me go.
“Demon are you all right?”
“I’m fine” I said then went up to my room. In my room I was frustrated. I grabbed a vase and threw it at a wall then I fell to my knees crying. After a couple minutes I stopped and went into the bathroom. I washed my face and inspected the bruises. I have a couple bruises on my back and my arms but other than that I’m fine.
I went downstairs and pretended that nothing happened. There was no one in the kitchen so I got a bottle of water and drank it all. Then I sat on the counter. Ian came into the kitchen and came over to me.
“So that was your ex-boyfriend?”
“Yep”
“He seemed like an ass. Are you okay?”
“This is what I get for dating a guy in college”
“Yea”
“So why are you here?”
“I wanted to check up on you. This may seem crazy but I find you attractive even when you have a black eye”
I laughed.
“So what are you gonna do now?” I asked.
He came closer to me and was only centimeters apart.
“I think you know by now” he said then kissed me. It was a really good kiss. I kissed him back. He deepened the kiss. I loved how soft his lips were and how much he liked even.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and ran my hands through his hair. He put his hands to my waist. We made out for a few minutes taking breaths every once and a while. When we finally stopped we were breathing hard and smiling.
“So what is good for you as it was for me?” Ian asked. I laughed.
“Yes it was but…”
“Uh oh buts”
“But I have a boyfriend?” I said.
Before he even got to say anything Damon came into the kitchen. Ian immediately stepped away from me.
“Demon get upstairs now and go to sleep you’ve been beaten up pretty badly and you need your rest”
I got down off the counter.
“See you Monday Ian” I said then went up to my room. I changed into my pajamas and went to sleep.
I woke up to my alarm clock. I turned it off and got up. On Saturdays I have to go to dance class. I’m not a member I teach it. But today I wasn’t teaching it because they got someone else to teach it so now I have to help everyone else with the moves. After I got dressed I got my duffel with my stuff and got my car keys.
I ate breakfast, then before I left I yelled, “Damon I’m going” and left. It took me about an hour and a half to get there since it was in another town. When I got there everyone still wasn’t here. I went inside to see who the new dance teacher was but I froze as soon as I saw who it was. It was Andy. Andy is a girl from my school that is in my grade. She is the most popular girl and one of the most prettiest.
I went up to her.
“Andy?” I said.
“Demon?”
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I got a job of teaching dance. What are you doing here?”
“I’m the person who has to help you get a hang of things and help people if they’re struggling”
“Wow I never thought I would see you here”
“Guess you didn’t go to my brother’s party last night”
“Why?”
“Cause then you would’ve seen me dance”
“Cool so when does everyone get here”
I looked at her stunned. It started in a minute.
“They’re already here”
“What!!!”
“Yea and we have to hurry cause class starts in a minute and we don’t want to keep them waiting”
“Why not?”
“Cause then they’ll get bored and leave”
We got to the room and she froze as she saw who she was teaching.
“But they’re seniors, college people”
“How do you think I met my last boyfriend” I said then went to the front with Andy on my heels.
“Everyone this is your new dance teacher Andy. Now be nice and don’t mock her it’s only her first day” I heard a lot of groans.
“Hey don’t worry I’ll still be here to help you guys if you don’t get the moves”
“But why aren’t you teaching us?” Lilly asked.
“Ask Roger” Roger is the manager and my boss.
“Okay Andy take it away” I said then went over to the wall.
“Okay so what are you guys doing before I came?” Andy asked.
“Dancing” everyone started dancing. Andy looked like she was about to cry. I had to do something. I went up next to her. I can’t believe I was gonna do this.
“Hey SHUT UP!!!!!” I yelled angrily. They all shut up cause they knew better than to make me angry.
“Now you will respect Andy and give her your cooperation or else leave, even though I’m not the teacher anymore you still have to follow by my rules which are Respect the teacher, don’t make me angry, and have fun now if you think you can’t do that with a new teacher then leave” I shouted. Everyone was silent. I turned to Andy.
“What we were doing is copy the teacher. You do dance moves and we copy them and if they don’t get them then we have to keep doing them until we get it”
“All right”
Andy did an easy dance move and everyone go it. By the time class was almost over she was doing dance moves that were really complicated but I could do them easily. Everyone else was having trouble.
“Okay class is over” I said on instinct.
Everyone drew out a breath of relief and changed. I changed into less sweaty clothes. I changed into a tank top and sweatpants. You could see my bruises but I didn’t care. The black eye I have was really noticeable but it was a good thing no one said anything or else I would’ve gotten mad.
I went out to my car and sat in it until everyone left.
Andy came up to my window and knocked on it. I tolled it down.
“Hey I wanted to thank you for what happened back there”
“No problem we have to be nice to each and I couldn’t let you get eaten alive by them cause if you’re not careful then one of them will make a move, you two will go out for a while, then break up”
“Is that what happened to you?”
“Yea and that’s why I’m never gonna date a college guy without knowing everything about him first”
“So then what happened to you?”
“I got into a fight with him at the party last night”
“He did that to you?”
“Yea but don’t worry I beat the crap out of him”
“Can I ask you something personal?”
“Sure”
“How come you got so angry when Melanie stole your bracelet?”
I blew out a breath that I’ve been holding in.
“Now that goes beyond personal”
“Oh sorry I probably shouldn’t have asked”
“No it’s okay people are bound to find out anyway”
“Find out what?”
“That I’m not really Damon’s sister. I was adopted by his parents when I was five. We used to live in Florida but moved when I got expelled from school when I was ten”
“Why did you get expelled?”
“Because of this bracelet” I held up the bracelet.
“Why is it so important to you?”
I looked down into my lap.
“I don’t want to talk about it”
“That’s okay. You know you’re not half bad. Everyone thinks you’re scary and dangerous but you’re actually a really nice person”
“I know that everybody thinks that”
“Then why do you go with it if that’s not really you”
“Cause I don’t like people get into my personal business except my friends”
“You mean Raven, you two are like best friends. How come you both don’t have other friends”
I laughed.
“What’s so funny?”
“You. You actually think we don’t have other friends”
“Well how come I never see you hang out with them. And you don’t have boyfriends either”
“We both have boyfriends, both have friends that are drop outs, that go to different school, we even have friends that go to our school but are seniors”
“You serious?”
“Yea haven’t you seen us hang out with my bro and his friends”
“No I haven’t”
“Me and my bro are like best friends”
“Cool hey mind if I catch a ride with you I got dropped off by my bro and he doesn’t want to pick me up again”
“Sure get in and we’ll go to my house”
After an hour and a half of talking we picked up Raven and went to my house. We went up to my room.
“So this is your room?” Andy asked.
“Yea you like”
“I love” Raven and I laughed. I tossed my stuff into my closet. Raven practically lives at my house so I have two beds in my room.
“How come you have two beds?”
“Raven practically lives here so my parents put in another bed for her to stay in”
“You two are like sisters”
“Thank you” Raven and I said at the exact same time.
“So Andy what made you want to hang out with outcasts like us?” Raven asked.
“Well I found out you two aren’t as scary as everyone says and thought you two would make really good friends and allies”
“You got that right. Demon here practically knows everyone and has friends in some very high places”
“Cool”
“So what do you guys want to do?” I asked.
“Lets go in The Woods” Raven said.
“What Woods?” Andy asked.
“Oh you are going to love this” I said then went into my closet and picked out clothes for Raven, Andy, and me.
The Woods is a cool hangout place that is underground. Nobody knows about it cause it’s very exclusive and you have to have friends in very high places. We got dressed casual.
Andy followed Raven, and me as we made our way to the park. At the park we went into the forest and when we got to a clearing we went over to the huge rock in the middle and there was actually a door in it. A little window slid open. A pair of green eyes looked at us.
“Password”
“Open the door now or I beat the crap out of you”
“Gosh Demon gotta be so harsh” Leon said as he opened the door.
“We got a new recruit” I said and motioned over to Andy.
“Oh hey you’re Andy”
“Yea” she said shyly.
“Don’t Worry Andy he won’t bite, maybe flirt but that’s as far as he goes” Raven said.
“Hurry up and get in” Leon said.
We went down some stairs until we got to the bottom. At the bottom was a club style place with a bar, stage, and everything. We went over to an empty table.
“Whoa this place is sooo cool” Andy said.
“Yea but you cant’ tell anyone” I said.
“Why not?”
“Cause it’s supposed to be a secret”
“So what happens if I bring my friends here?”
“Then they probably won’t let you back in. You have to understand that you can like bring only a few people at a time and if the secret gets out then the police will eventually find out and shut this place down. You have to promise to keep this place a secret”
“Ok I promise”
“Good. Oh and if I were you I wouldn’t tell anyone since you’re new”
“Okay but what if I want to come back”
“That is another problem” Raven said. “They only let a specific people in without a problem” she continued.
“Can you come anytime you want?” Andy asked Raven.
“Nope I have to go with Demon or else they won’t let me in. Demon is like a celebrity here everyone knows her”
“But you’re Demon’s best friend”
“That’s everyone’s excuse when they try to get in. they have to see it to believe it”
“I never knew you were such an important person” Andy said to me.
“You don’t know a lot a things about me”
“Yea”
“Hey, three of us are having a sleepover tonight” Raven said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Well now that we’re all friends we gotta have a sleepover”
“Oh yes” Andy said.
“Where?” I asked.
“My house is out of the question” Raven said.
“Yea if we’re friends then you gotta understand that we never have sleepovers at Raven’s house because her parents are a little freaky and they only approve of specific people” I told Andy.
“Ok if we have a sleepover at my house then we have to deal with Damon and his friends since they’re staying over at my house” I said.
“My house is like a half and hour away” Andy said.
“Demon’s house it is” Raven said.
“Ok lets go to my house” I said. We left and drove to my house. When we got there, there were about two other cars on the driveway so I had to park my car on the street. We went inside. We went up to my room as soon as we heard the guys. I shut the door and locked it.
“So Demon what happened between you and Ian?” Raven asked.
“Nothing really”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, you and Ian?” Andy asked.
“It’s nothing really. I never really got a chance to see how he acted at the party cause I was busy beating the crap out of Tyler”
“But Damon said he saw you two alone in the kitchen”
“We were talking about if he had a chance or not” I lied.
“You two would make such a cute couple” Andy said.
Andy’s cell phone rang. She looked at it then went pale.
“You know what I think you two would make a bad couple” She said.
“Give me your phone Andy” I said.
“Demon…..”
“Give me your phone” she relunctantly gave it to me. I opened the message. It was a picture of Melanie and Ian making out.
“Bastard” I said then tossed Andy her phone back.
“I’m sorry” she said.
“It’s not your fault. I warned him and he didn’t take it. Good thing when I told you I had a boyfriend I wasn’t talking about him”
“What you’re dating someone!! How come you never told me” Raven said.
“Cause we started dating when Tyler and I were together”
“You cheated on Tyler!!!!” Raven practically yelled.
“Yep”
“Why?”
“Cause I got angry one night so I went out and met this guy”
“How long have you two been dating?”
“One week”
“What’s his name?” Andy asked.
“If I tell you, you have to promise never to say it”
“Okay” Andy and Raven said at the same time.
“Azdeha”
“What kind of name is that?”
“I think it’s cool” I said.
“How hot is he?” Raven asked.
I showed them a picture of a really hot guy with brown emo style hair, green eyes, tall, and really strong even though it doesn’t seem like it.
“Whoa”
“I know” I said.
“So when are you two going out?”
“Ummm….. I don’t know he’s gonna call later”
“I cannot believe a girl like you can get a guy like that” Andy said.
Just then my door flew open and the guys came into my room.
“Hey Demon, Raven, and who is this?” Damon said.
“Andy” Andy said.
“Oh yea I’ve seen you around school”
“So what are you doing here?” Blake asked coming over to sit next to Raven.
“Oh I’m having a sleepover with Demon and Raven” he raised his eyebrows.
“Don’t worry we’re not going to scare the hell out of her like we do to you” Raven said.
“So all three of you are like friends now?” Tommy asked unsure.
“Yea”
“Cool maybe a little popularity will be good for you Demon”
“Fuck off, you know I hate it when people bring that up”
“So you don’t want to be popular?” Andy asked astonished.
“Why would I want to be popular if I already am. I’m just not popular in school”
“But you want to be?”
“Nope not at all. Why would I want to become like Melanie?”
“Being popular doesn’t mean you’re gonna become like Melanie” Andy said.
“I like how I am right now an outcast”
“Well we’ll leave you ladies to your business. Call if you need anything” Ricky said. They left. I got up and locked the door.
“Your brother’s hot” Andy said to me.
“That’s what everyone thinks”
“So if I’m friend with you, you can get me anywhere?” Andy asked.
“Depends. You see I have a lot of friends in a lot of places so if I wanted someone to get beat up I can call someone and they’ll do it but then I have to owe them a favor”
“How come I never knew that?”
“Cause no one ever bothered to be friends me except Raven which is why she has those friends too”
“Whoa I’m gonna like start hanging out with you guys more”
Raven and I smiled. She has no clue what we can do and who we’re friends with.
My cell phone rang. It’s Azdeha. I answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey Demon”
“Hey what’s up?”
“Nothing just thinking”
“What are you thinking about?”
“How pretty you are” I smiled.
“You must have done something to make me angry for you to say that”
“Why do you say that?”
“Cause I know guys. So what is it?”
“Well I’m gonna be going to a strip club later with some buds since they don’t know about you”
“Oh”
“Yea and I was afraid that if you found out through someone else you would get mad and break up with me”
“Nah I’m not mad you should go anyways I’m hanging out with my friends”
“Really who?”
“Raven and Andy”
“Andy?”
“She just joined”
“Oh ok…..so do they know?”
“Yea and I made them promise to not tell anyone and if they do I will beat the crap out of them”
“Ha ha ha ha ha…..you always have some way to make them not break their promise”
“Go and I’ll talk to you tomorrow” I said.
“All right bye”
“Bye” I said then hung up. Andy and Raven were watching me.
“Who was that?” Andy asked.
“My boyfriend”
“So you don’t care about Ian?”
“Nope”
“Come on lets order take out”
We ordered chinese, italian, pizza, and mexican. When the food came we all ate so much we were full. The guys weren’t there so there were a lot of leftovers left. We all fell on the living room floor because we were too full and couldn’t walk.
“You know I’m gonna have to call my brother just to help us up”
We all laughed.
The doorbell rang. I got up and got it. I froze as I saw who was standing there right in front of me. Tyler.
“What the hell are you doing here Tyler?” I said.
“Babe I want you back I’m sorry about last night” I winced because I haven’t told Azdeha about what happened. He knew about Tyler.
“I’m sorry Tyler but I’ve moved on. I’ve found someone else”
“No you can’t you love me!” he yelled. Raven came to my right while Andy came to my left.
“I don’t love you anymore. I’m sorry but you better forget about me” I said. He slapped me hard then left. I felt tears coming to my eyes.
“Demon…” Raven started. But before she could finish I ran up to my room, locked the door, and fell to my knees crying. I went to my closet and crawled into a secret cubby big enough for three tall adults and cried. Why did I have to have such a messed up life?
I cried for half an hour then I just sat there with my arms wrapped around my knees. I heard someone coming into my room. Then pretty soon Raven and Andy joined me.
“Demon I’m sorry” Andy said.
“Why did I pick such a dumbass?”
“You didn’t, you thought you loved him but when you broke up with him you brought out his true self”
“Yea it was just unfortunate that it turned out to be an abusive asshole” Andy said.
I laughed.
“Come on lets go. Damon’s here and he’s worried about you”
“All right”
When I went downstairs it wreaked havoc. Damon started yelling at me to get a restraining order which brought to the conclusion that I actually went out and got right then and there. He had to be 100 ft away from me. The police notified him. I went back home and Raven, Andy, and I went to sleep early because we were all supposed to get to school early for the food drive, even though it was a Sunday.
My alarm clock rang. I got my duffel bag with some clothes, Raven had hers, so we went to Andy’s house so we could all get changed. After we got done changing we went to the food drive.
I could tell everyone was surprised to see Raven and me hanging out with Andy. Andy split and went over to her friends. Raven and I started sorting out the food and when we were done we gave the food out. A lot of people were looking at my black eye. I forgot to ice it. I ignored Ian the whole time.
My cell phone rang. I saw that it was Azdeha so I went over to a corner and answered.
“Hello?” I said.
“Hey Demon”
“Hey”
“Where you at?”
“School food drive”
“Okay I’m gonna pick you up after what time does it end?”
“You don’t have to pick me up”
“I want to. I want to make it up for last tonight”
“I said it was okay for you to go so you don’t have to do anything”
“I want to”
“But I drove my car here”
“Have Raven take it”
“All right but……”
“But what?”
“There’s something you should know before you see me”
“What?”
“I kind of have some bruises and a black eye”
“What!!!!” he yelled. I winced.
“I kind of got into a fight at my brother’s party on Friday”
“All right so what time should I pick you up?”
“Ummm…… how bout half an hour”
“Perfect”
“All right see you later” I hung up.
I went back to helping Raven and a half an hour later we were done. I explained to Raven why she should take my car and then Azdeha arrived. I didn’t want him to get out so I quickly went into his car.
“Hey beautiful” he kissed me on the cheek.
“Hey babe”
“Where do you want to go?”
“I don’t care as long as I’m with you” I said.
“To my house it is” he said then he raced home. I like Azdeha because he’s dangerous and hot. He makes me feel special.
At his house we went to the living room since no one was home. We sat down. I snuggled into him. We’ve haven’t kissed yet cause I don’t want to rush into things.
“So what do you want to do?” I asked.
He smiled then kissed me softly on the lips. It was the best kiss I’ve ever had. I kissed him back. Pretty soon we were making out on the couch. I laid down on the couch with Azdeha laying on top of me. I could feel his abs on me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him closer to me. I ran my hands through his hair.
He ran his hands along my side. He didn’t put his hand under my shirt which I’m glad of. He deepened the kiss even more and that made me moan in pleasure. After a couple of minutes we broke apart. We were breathing hard.
“Wow” he said.
“I know”
“Where’d you learn to kiss so good?” he asked.
“You wouldn’t like the answer” I said.
“Try me”
“I’ve had other boyfriends”
“I’ve had other girlfriends”
“I wouldn’t find that hard to believe” I said.
We started kissing again. We had breaks every once in a while. When we were done it was almost 1 o’ clock.
“Ah shit” I said.
Azdeha got off of me.
“What?”
“I have to call my brother”
“Why?”
“I never told him where I was”
“Do you have to?” he whined like a five year old.
“Yes I do” I said laughing.
I got out my cell phone and called Damon. He answered on the first ring.
“Demon where the hell are you?”
“At a friends house”
“Well come home”
“Why?”
“Cause mom and dad are home and they want to see you alive. They thought Tyler kidnapped you or something”
“Did you tell them about the fight?”
“I had to”
“Well I won’t be home till late”
“Demon” he said in an irritated voice.
“Damon” I said in the same way.
“Fine but be home by ten cause it’s a school night”
“Fine” I said then hung up.
Azdeha and I got some lunch then we went to the park. We went into the forest and walked on the trail. We held hands. As we were walking we bumped into Melanie.
“Hey Demon” she said.
“What do you want?” I said.
“Nothing. Who’s this?”
“My boyfriend”
“You have a boyfriend!” she said astonished.
“Yea shocking isn’t it” I said. Azdeha chuckled.
“You should know she’s a virgin” Melanie said.
“That’s okay”
“Really? You seem like the guy who wants a girl with experience”
“No. I like how she can take care of herself and I bet she has her reasons.”
“Yea and like I said when we first met no sex” I said.
“And I don’t mind”
“Okay well see you later” Melanie left.
“What’s her deal?” Azdeha said.
“She thinks she’s all that because she lost her virginity when she was 12 and cause she’s head cheerleader”
“What a stuck up bitch”
“I know right”
Azdeha turned to me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
“I’m so lucky to have met someone like you”
I smiled. I kissed him on the lips gently then we started walking again. After the park we went back to his house and watched tv. When it was 5 I went home or else Damon would call and ask why I wasn’t there.
When I got home I ate dinner then went back upstairs. I didn't want to deal with anyone right now. I woke up to my alarm clock. I shut it off and got dressed in a red and black tank top and I put on some black skinny jeans. I put my shoes on and put my hair up. I did my makeup then I went downstairs. Since I still have an hour till school starts I went to the kitchen and ate breakfast.
After I finished Damon came down and ate breakfast. I watched tv until it was time to go. I went to my car and picked up Raven. When we got to school everyone watched us as we made our way to Damon. He just got here.
“Damon!!”I yelled. He came over to me.
“What do you want sis?”
“I just wanted to tell you I'm not gonna go straight home after school. I'm gonna go to the Woods”
“All right. I'll be there around 6. Wait there. I don't want a repeat of last time when you were suppose to wait and you left”
“Hey I can't wait three hours for you”
“Then bring your boyfriend I still gotta meet him”
“Depends if he's available. I'll call him after school”
“No call him now” Damon demanded.
“Why?”
“So then it won't be short notice”
“Fine Mister Pushy”
I got out my cell phone and called Azdeha. He picked up on the fourth ring.
“Hey Demon”
“Hey I wanted to ask you something”
“Sure what is it?” he said then I heard a crash.
“What was that? Are you okay” I asked worried.
“Yea I just knocked over a side table”
“Well alright. Hey I wanted to ask you if you wanted to come to the Woods with me and Raven. My bros gonna come but not till later and he said it'll be nice to finally meet you”
“Ummmm.....Yea I can go but not till 5 cuz I have detention after school today”
“All right bye. See you then”
“Bye babe” I hung up.
“He coming at five cuz he has detention”
“All right. See you after school”
“See ya” I said then Raven and I went into school.
