That awkward moment when you're in love. . . with yourself.
Scourge was at the playground, swinging on the swingset by himself. He watched the sunset from afar, it's orange rays producing heat to the world around him. He sighed and stopped swinging. He sat there, thinking. What was he thinking about? Love. The only thing that's on his mind. What is love?
Ever since his girlfriend, Fiona, left Scourge, he's been acting more. . . quiet than usual. Normally, he was the talkative, cocky bad boy. He would always cause trouble, talk back to adults and bully people. But everything changed since his break up. It's like he switched personalities. Or changed his attitude.
But we all know that Scourge, deep down, is a young boy with a broken heart. He hides his depression with violence, bullying and mischief. He has secrets, like everyone else does. His secret? He's never been so depressed before. His happiness faded away, along with Fiona.
Scourge sighed and felt some tears fall down his cheek. He never cried so much in his life. He never felt this broken before. He never understood what this feeling was. We all know what he was feeling : depression.
Scourge hopped off the swingset and watched the sun set. The moon was already up, along with billions of stars staring back at the ground. Scourge looked at the sky and thought for a moment. He suddenly felt a presence nearby. He turned around.
"Hi, Scourge." A cobalt blue hedgehog walked over to Scourge. His eyes were green, like the colour of Scourge's fur, and his fur was blue, like the colour of Scourge's eyes. Sonic.
"What do you want, Blue?" The emerald green hedgehog snapped, turning the other direction. Sonic walked over to Scourge. He noticed Scourge was crying. "What's wrong?" Sonic asked, his voice remote and hoarse. Scourge sighed, "I'm fine."
Sonic shook his head. "No, you're not. You've been acting more quieter than usual. And I know that we're enemies and all, but I do care for you, Scourge." He gently rested his hand on Scourge's shoulder. "If you're upset, tell me," the azure blue hedgehog smiled. "I'll listen." So Scourge and Sonic walked out of the park and into the forest, talking non-stop. Scourge even cracked a few smiles or two the whole entire walk. They both laughed, told stories and did what every friend would do.
Sonic lead Scourge to a beautiful hillside. The city was settled below the landscape. The grass was a bit moist, but the hedgehogs didn't mind it. They sat down, leaning against an old Japanese sakura tree. Scourge started at the sky again. "I miss her, Sonic." He whispered. "I know you do, Scourge," replied the blue hedgehog. "It's hard to let our loved ones go."
Scourge looked at Sonic and held his hand. "But I would never let you go," he whispered. Sonic blushed and held Scourge's hand, his fingers locking into his. "I'll never leave you, Scourge." Sonic whispered back, leaning onto the emerald green hedgehog's shoulder, hand in hand.
"We may be opposites," Sonic said, "But you know what they say, right?" He blinked, looking into Scourge's icy blue eyes. "No, what?" Scourge asked, smiling. "Opposites attract," he kissed Scourge's lips, wrapping his arms around him. Scourge blushed and kissed back. "I guess that is true," Scourge said. "I love you, Sonikku."
Close your eyes, and relax. . .
Scourge was sitting on the park bench by himself. He hugged his knees together and sighed. It was a very humid July evening, and everyone was out on vacation, or they're just so "busy." Nobody wanted to spend the day with him. Nobody.
"What's wrong with me?" The emerald green hedgehog asked himself. "Why do people avoid me like I'm some kind of freak?" He felt so lonely. Even though there were lots of people in the park, Scourge felt abandoned. He felt like he lived in a world where people looked down at him. They only thought of him as a freak, a lunatic, an idiot, an insane person. They only looked at the bad side of him.
Scourge got off the bench and headed for home. He lived not too far away from the park he was at, thankfully. But he decided to take the long way home. You know, just to think and all.
Scourge walked into the forest, by himself in the dark. Well, it was only evening, the time people usually ate supper or prepare for bed. Scourge liked the darkness of the forest, and he enjoyed the sunsets, the sounds of crickets chirping and the warm summer breezes.
He liked this feeling. But one thing was missing : a friend.
Scourge stopped walking and looked down to the muddy ground. He suddenly felt a presence, like someone - or something - was following him. He could've sworn, though, that he saw eyes. Big, crimson red eyes, staring back at him.
He started to walk again, this time a bit faster. The uneasiness feeling grew inside him, so he ran. A few minutes later when he got home, Scourge burst into the door, breathing heavily. "Oh, gosh," he whispered to himself.
He sighed, relaxing every muscle in his body. "What was that?" He asked himself. He shrugged and walked to the couch, laying down and turned on the T.V. He changed the channel and his favourite anime, Blood-C, was on. He smiled, enjoying the anime.
He suddenly heard a tapping on the glass. "What the hell - ?!" He cursed. Then he heard a faint laughing noise. Scourge's heart skipped a beat. "What the fuck is going on?!" He cursed. Somebody was outside his house, waiting for him.
Scourge shivered, looking around nervously. He turned the T.V. off. 'Just calm down,' he told himself. 'This is probably a dream. . .' He reassured himself. He got up and walked to his room. He flicked the switch on, but the light was very dim. "Odd," he muttered to himself. He sighed.
Again, he heard tapping noises. Then laughter. Then he heard his name. "Scourgeeee ~ " Scourge shrieked loudly and threw a book at the glass window, shattering it. The tapping stopped, but the laughing didn't. "Who's there?!" He demanded. He found his knife nearby and snatched it. That's when suddenly the power went out.
"Eh?!" Scourge noticed the light turned off somehow. "W-What's going on?!" He was more than freaked out; he was TERRIFIED! He looked around. "Scourgeeee ~ " the voice from earlier came back. This time, it sounded like it was right next to him.
"Get-Get out of here!" Scourge cried, shaking. He ran out of the room and into the bathroom. He locked the door and pulled his phone out. It was the only source of light, as the power was now out. "Oh, God!"
He suddenly heard scratching from outside the door. He jumped into the bathtub, his phone in hand. That's when the power came back on. "Huh. . .?!"
"Scourge, it's only me!" A familiar voice called. Scourge blinked and climbed out of the tub, quickly opening the door. His friend, Shadow, was standing outside of it. "What the hell is your problem, you douche bag?!" Scourge screamed. "You scared the HELL out of me!"
Shadow smirked, "That's what you get for being such an idiot!" Scourge growled and blushed in embarrassment. "In going to kill y - " he was interrupted by a kiss on the cheek from Shadow. "W-What - ?"
"Calm down," Shadow said. "There's nothing here that can harm you." He said, taking the emerald green hedgehog's hand and walking out of the bathroom. Scourge sighed of relief, "Just never do that again."
"I won't - " Shadow was interrupted by another tapping noise on the window. . . "Not again!" Scourge yelled, running to the bathroom and locking the door.
Heart beats fast
Colours and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
Silver watched Launa sit alone one day. He noticed she was writing on her arms. He walked over to Launa and sat next to her. "Are you. . . okay?" He asked. Launa looked up and took her glasses off. "N - No." Silver Sat next to Launa and held her hand.
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
"Launa, what's wrong?" Silver asked. Launa shook her head. "I feel unloved." She whispered. Silver brushed Launa's bangs out of her eyes. "Dont say that, Launa. You are loved."
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
Launa looked into Silver's eyes, and Silver dried her tears with his finger. Launa smiled and giggled a bit. Silver smiled as well. He loved seeing Launa's ineffable smiles. To him, her smile was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Silver leaned closer to Launa, making her blush. She smiled a bit bigger, making Silver blush. He kissed Launa's cheek shyly, making her blush as well. "I love you, Launa-sama!" Silver cried. Launa blinked and looked at her arms.
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Silver held both of Launa's hands. "I love you, Launa. You're the most beautiful, most funniest, most sweetest girl I've ever met."
One step closer
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
"Are you . . . serious?" Launa giggled, blushing really heavily. "I'm dead serious. I'll love you forever, Launa. . . ."
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
"Well I'll love you for a thousand years, Silver," Launa whispered, giggling and kissing Silver's lips.
Silver was sitting in the grass on his knees, sobbing. His girlfriend, Launa, had died. She committed suicide by shooting herself with a gun.
What I have in me,
In my mind is you
(I would die if we were through)
What I'm feeling now,
What I'm heading into!
(I am lost in pain without you)
(so cold, so alone)
Silver watched the rain fall, and a heavy gust of wind blew his flowers away. He watched as they blew away.
All I have is you,
It is all that I'm breathing for
All I need is you,
(Now I can't make it through)
"Launa," Silver whispered. "Where have you gone?" He started to cry loudly. "WHY DID YOU GO?!" He screamed, and his voice echoed. He was alone, so nobody heard him crying.
All the nights I've prayed,
Must this all be untrue?
(I am not prepared to be strong)
I just can't believe I am losing you
Silver stood up. "I'm sorry I was such a failure to you, Launa. I'm sorry I was never there for you. I'm sorry I'm such an idiot. I'm a naive, stupid bitch."
(Unprepared to carry on)
(I can't see you walk away)
(so cold, so alone)
Silver read the writing on Launa's gravestone.
All I have is you,
It is all that I'm breathing for
All I need is you,
(Now I can't make it through)
I am losing you forever
(I am lost in pain without you)
I am leaving ground forever
(Forever, forever)
Here lies Launa N. Hedgie, R.I.P, May 2001 - July 2015. Committed suicide due to depression, loneliness and severe anxiety. We will all miss you dearly."
Distant, so far, destiny is selecting me
I can't be strong, life is disconnecting me
Now loneliness infecting me
Gone are the days, you were there protecting me
Silver sighed as the rain stopped, and the clouds drifted away. It was so dark out. The only source of light was Silver's light green aura.
So cold (so alone)
All I have is you
It is all that I'm breathing for
All I need is you
(Now I can't make it through)
I am losing you forever
(I am lost in pain without you)
I am leaving ground forever (forever)
"Farewell, Launa." Silver whispered as he walked away from Launa's grave, and out of the church cemetery.
All I have is you (it is all that I'm breathing for)
All I need is you (now I can't make it through)
Silver walked home, all by himself. He loved the warmth of Launa's hugs, her sweet smile. . .
"But it's all over now," Silver whispered. "I lost the one I love. . . Forever."
It is all that I'm breathing for
(breathing for, breathing for)
(breathing for, breathing for, breathing for)
She glides on the ice, keeping the puck within her. She slap shots the puck, but it missed the hockey net. Again. She wanted to improve her hockey skills so she could impress the love of her life.
Normally, you wouldn't find girls playing ice hockey, but Fiona was probably one of the only girls out there to enjoy this sport. She hated 'girly' sports, like cheerleading. She liked more action, more skills and more fun.
"I have had enough," Fiona muttered. "I can't do this anymore!" She covered her face, frustrated. "I just can't," she sighed as she slowly skates to the edge of the arena. Slowly, Fiona begins to get off of the ice, until she saw Scourge gliding over. "Fi, why're you quitting?" Scourge pouted. "Because it's too hard." She replied. "Fi, practice makes perfect. Don't give up so easily," he smiled a little.
Fiona blushed slightly, "A-Alright." Scourge takes Fiona's hand and skates to the middle of the rink. "I play defense, and you play center?" He asked. "I suppose," she replied. "Cool, let's get started," Scourge takes the puck and drops it in the middle.
He decided to play easier so Fiona would feel good about herself. Fiona instantly got the puck and skidded down to the other side of the arena. She tried to shoot it into the net, but it hit off the sides. Scourge sighed, "Fiona, your holding your stick wrong." He got behind her, wrapped his arms around her and helped her hold the hockey stick right. "Here. Now try again," he whispered, before skating backwards.
Fiona smiled, a blush on her face. She shoots the puck, this time holding the stick right. The puck is then shot into the net. She finally scored!
"There. You're already perfect at hockey."
