It was a bright and sunny day, and twin sisters Hope and Samantha, like the rest of the school,were excited. For,in 2 minutes the bell would ring for the last day of the school year. To celebrate Hope,Samantha, and a few other friends were going to the park near school.
"5,4,3,2,1!" cheered the 4th and 5th graders.
"Riinggg!" cried the bell.The school exploded with cheers.
Hope Grabbed her bag, and ran across the hall to get Samantha.
"Hurry up so we can yet there before all the good spots are gone!" declared Hope.
"C'mon! Let's Go!" exclaimed Samantha.Hope and Samantha ran all the way home to get a soccerball,a beach umbrella,and towels to sit on. Then they helped each other rub on suntan-lotion. They ran to the park with their arms fill with their stuff. Occsionally, Samantha or Hope would drop a thing or two. However, they finnialy managed to get there!
"Look, there's a good spot over by Natile!" yelled Samantha.The two girls ran to the spot before it was taken.They both dropped their stuff gratefully.After they set up their things, they both said,
"We brought a soccerball, do you want to play?"
"Jinx!" shouted Natile. They all giggled. After they calmed down Natile said
"Sure,let's start now!" So they grabbed a couple of friends, adn started playing soccer. Then Hope saw one of her best friends. She ran to her. They chatted for two minutes, but then were interputed by the soun of Natile's voice. She excliamed nervously,
"Hope, get over here. We need you to find the ball!"Hope ran as fast as she could to get there. As she was getting the ball, she saw something.
"Guys, get over here! Look what I found!
Hope's blood froze, adn she stopped in her tracks. All though she was frightened, what she saw was kinda adorable. She had only seen one in the zoo!
"Hope, what is i?" Samantha asked.
You'll see it when you get here, but hury!"Hope shouted. Then Samantha and Natile ran to Hope.
"Oh my gosh. Is that a..." said Samantha, unfinished
"Bear cub?!" Hope interupted. Hope nodded her head.
"What are we going to do with it?" questioned Samantha.
"Guess we have to bring it home." awnsered Hope.
"It's starting to get dark,let's go home." said Samantha. They started walking. 'Oh boy,what are will mom say? I guess we'l have to hide him!' Hope said to her self.
Whe they where a block away from home, Hope whispered to Samantha,
"Hey, You better hide that little guy!"
"I'll put him in my back pack." stated Samantha. In about 3 minutes they got home. They both went upstairs to their rooms.
"You know we need to give him a name." said Hope.
"Little Jimmy" they both voiced. So Little Jimmy it was. Weeks went buy, and they took care of him. He grew a lot, and it started to get hard to hide him. The one day Hope said,
"We've got to return him!"
"I know!" Samantha replied.
"But how?" Hope replied.
"We could see it Rodger could take him?" said Samantha.
"Great Idea!" Hope replied.
So the next morning they walk 5 blocks to Rodger's Animal Shelter.
"Here we are, Rodger's Animal Shelter!" said Hope.
"I really wish he will day yes" wonderded Samantha.
"You have Little Jimmy,right?" asked Hope. Samantha nodded her head. They walked in. Rodger waved and greeted
"Hello! What do you need this time?" Samantha awnsered
"We found something in the park, a few week ago." Then she took Little Jimmy out of her un-zipped bag. "Is that a ..."
"Yes!" the twins awnsered.
"Will you take him" said Hope. 'Please say yes, please say yes' Samantha thought nervously whle they where waiting for an awnser.
"Sure! Of Course!" Rodger finnialy awnsered. Hope and Samantha let out a sight of relief.
"Thank Goodness!" said Hope with joy.
"How much do you want for him?" asked Rodger.
"You mean we get paid!?" the girls questioned.
"Yes, now how about $20?" Rodger asked. Hope and Samantha nodded their heads, and took the money. the they gave the cub to him, and left.
"Whew! I'm sure glad that's over! Hope exclaimed.
"You know we could have left him there." said Samantha.
"Now Way!" they giggled together.
It deffently pays to be kind!"Samantha joked.
"Hey, I'll race you home!" Hope shouted. So off they went.
