The cool night air blew through her open window sending chills down her spine as she stared down at a blank canvas. She watches as her hand raced across the canvas forming a series of thin lines-
Reds, pinks, purples, and yellows filled the sky as she walked along the beach. Her feet slid across the sand lightly as she walked while the waves licked at her ankles. The sound of the waves masked any and all sound of anyone approaching. She felt arms wrap around her waist and slowly spin her around to face him. His face seemed full of muscle and hardness but at the same time he looked delicate and peaceful, his green eyes seemed to bore into hers which made her heart skip beats. It's like they had known each other all their lives. She was completely speachless as he picked her up into his arms and was carrying her somewhere unknown. She looked around to see that the sun which had finally begun to really set was hovering just above the ocean. He had noticed too, for she could see him with a slight grin on his face looking at the sunset also. Soon she felt herself be set onto a soft towel that was laid out on the beach. She closed her eyes and smiled softly to herself as he put her down because the warm, soft sand under the towel made it feel like she was laying on a cloud after a hot summer day. When she looked back up she noticed that he had sat down next to her and that the sky was mostly a dark sapphire blue now. She could feel that the temperature had slowly dropped to an almost chilling degree. As she shivered he looked down at her. She thought he was about to say something but instead she watched as he moved onto one elbow and looked down at her with an expression of clear love and passion. The next few moments seemed to move in slow motion but she liked it. She liked how she no longer felt cold with him this close to her, she liked that she felt the need to pull him closer but knowing she shouldn't rush the feelings that he would in time discover she has for him. They looked like complete strangers but deep down they knew each other, deep down they had a love that would last many eternities, a love that wouldn't and couldn't be broken. She knew deep down he felt the same way, that he felt the same pull towards her that she felt towards him.
Her eyes were still open and he was still staring down at her when she started to wonder what he would do or if he would say anything, he slowly closed his eyes and started to lean in. As she closed her eyes so imagined what it would be like after this kiss. The many days of happiness they would spend together. The endless laughing and smiling at each other over nothing at all. She wanted to feel safe and protected in his arms when she was scared. She wanted her own happily ever after. She smiled to herseft yet again and waited for the familiar feeling of his lips on hers. After a long moment, she opened her eyes to see that he had disappeared. Only leaving behind an emptiness in the pit of her stomach. Although, the pull that she felt towards him still remained strong she felt the tears rush down her cheeks as the feeling of being abandoned set in.
Then, her vision started to fade and she was still staring at her canvas but now it was covered in a million small lines that formed a picture. She felt as if she had seen this picture before as if she had felt the way the girl felt in the picture but she couldn't grasp the memories. A women and a man laying together on the beach looking at each other with such love filled eyes that made her want to jump into the picture and replace the girl with herself just to feel the emotion she was feeling at that very second.
She lifted the picture off its easel and pinned it to her large tack board that filled almost an entire wall of her room and took one last glance at it before turning off the lights and falling fast asleep.
"Katerina! It's time to get ready for school," my mother shouted up the stairs at me. I groaned softly before getting out of bed and looking down to see Puchie with the same tired look in his eyes. Puchie, my old lab, lazily got up and stood by my bedroom door while wagging his tail. Probably wanting to go downstairs and bother mom until she gives him food, I thought as I opened the door, oh well I have to get ready.
After my shower, I skipped downstairs suddenly not tired at all.
"Good moring Mom!" I say as I run up to the table and take a huge bite out of a pancake. I had come downstairs in my usual black t-shirt with a random logo writen on it in white cursive letters with skinny jeans and black converse. To top it all off I had already put my knee pads, elbow pads, and helmet on. With my skateboard in one hand, I waved to my mom with the other and headed out the door.
