The man was dark and mysterious, and undoubtedly trouble personified.
Regardless of his coy and bright smile, you could see into the dark depths of his eyes and know that all his false pretenses were only for show.
The cards showed the reversed of all three VII of Cups, V of Pentacles, and VI of cups.
In order the cards gave choices or false hope from emotional fantasies, poverty or great loss which could have been avoided, and memory or unresolved pain.
Ignoring the cards she went to him anyway.
She was warned by the cards and now would suffer.
The cards gave the II of Wands, V of Cups, and VII of Wands.
“They show a partnership both successful and prosperous, sorrow and the loss of a relationship, and swiftness... of a resolution.”
Grey brows furrowed, and beneath them the old man’s blue eyes misted.
“We were married in 1920...” his raspy voice said, “I never thought she’d die, but now it’s the end.”
“I was looking for an answer...Swift huh...wonder how long she’ll wait?”
The old man smiled softly as he left.
That night two souls left this world, the first anxiously from worry and the other peacefully.
“Well what’s my fortune Voodoo Lady?” the man sneered.
The cards gave the reversed Justice, III of Wands, and X of Swords.
The man wouldn’t take any warnings seriously, and that was undeniably the reason why his cards showed his future ruin.
“You are given the reversed Justice for bad judgment, next opportunity or luck with patience, but lastly ruin... the cards issue a warning against your rushed decisions.”
“What a load of shit...” the man said leaving without paying.
Down the road a loud crash could be heard, and a smile reflected in the crystal ball on the table.
