The Ocean

Wade into me. I’m deeper than most.
Lie near me each night.
Watch the sun rise over my face.
Taste the salt on my cheeks.
Unbury me from the sands of time.
We’ll always have this place.
Bowed into the water.
The edge of Earth and Heaven
Trying like hell not to falter.
Every time I pull out to sea
My moon, my man, pulls back at me
And I end up like a fish
Just missing the net-
But forever caught up in the ocean.
