Charity

Charity begins at home
I hear people say
Others think charity
Is some place far away?
There is always charity
When devastation strikes
Charity can and will
Make the heart feel right
America gives charity
To many other countries
Even though they don't like us
Culturally or politically
Many just give charity
Around the holidays
Giving need to people
To brighten up their day
Some never heed the charity call
Helping someone out no matter how small
Most Americans do a lot of giving
Many appreciate the lives they are living
Take care of your own
That is surely your priority
But those that still give
Have a heart that the world should see

CHILDREN ALONE

Who’s going to take care of the children
The ones left in the orphanages and on the street
The ones without love the ones we can not see
All children need love and God’s grace
Who will take care of the children in this earthly place?
So many children left alone in the dark
No one to love them no one to calm their heart
Too many children wandering life alone
Their sprit is breaking without a loving home
Children thrown aside for one reason or another
Many don’t know their fathers or mothers
Children abandoned here and in every land
Love for these children is God’s command
So to them that leave them crying and out of breath
Someday you will stand before God, He will not forget

Closer to the truth

Possibilities are endless
If you take that leap of faith
The mind creates illusions

What’s kind of planet will be here
In a hundred years or more

Fall has come
As the grayness begins

Although I believe in my Christianity
Public officials serve all in this pot
Government is not my spiritual leader
Whether they like it or not
If any religion is put at the top
And is trying to force it's will
How are we any different
Then the Arabs in the third world
The spiritual leaders tell them what to do
And they follow without any pause
We the people in America
Need a country that's for us all
I believe we need God
And all the different places to pray
Religious leaders should stay out of politics
Politicians should stay out of religions way
We are a nation of many
And the constitution is our law
Keep religion in your own life
But don't force what you believe on us all

Freedom on attack

In New York City
Two towers stood tall
With an act of terrorism
They were fireballs

They tumbling on down
Many died that day

I Make No Resolution

I make no resolutions
I can't keep them anyway
Most people make them
At the coming of New Years day

We think that we're sincere
When we have a drink or two

Very few follow through

So I will never make resolutions
That are delusional in my mind

Love a word too often thrown around
For appreciation of many nouns

That brand new car

Our lives are a reality we have to endure

SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Science and religion can they coexist
God is science He started all of this
Mans fascinations to know how and why
Contraptions of imaginations through space they will fly
Picking up particles all along the way
Trying to find the beginning of the first day
Telescopes peering into the universes soul
More answers more questions onward they toil
The big bang theory makes me leery
We started from nothing that makes it clearer
Did a building start without an architect?

The universe where did it begin where will it end
It is something only the planner can comprehend
The universe a fine precision machine
And we are only part of God’s endless scheme

Talents Not Enough

Talent and dreams are not enough

A book and movie
That questions Jesus authenticity
Supposedly in a code
In the work of Da’ Vinci
We had the Passion of Christ
That put people in shock
Now we have the other side
Trying to discredit God

The code to non-believers
Can sidetrack the truth
God didn't need to marry
He had nothing to prove
God said, what He had to say
In His book of love
Everything you need to know
Is in chapter and verse

Jesus didn't come here
To sow His royal seed
Jesus came to forgive
To all that would believe
They talk of a blood line
That is the Holy Grail
His blood does have special powers
After they put in the nails

God made Himself human

The meaning of life

The question, what is the meaning of life
Why are we here in this endless strife?
Answer, we are here to love the Creator of all
To enjoy the blessing that He foresaw

God could have made us robots loyal to Him
But He gave us freewill right from the beginning
God could have made us perfect like the Garden of Eden
But He gave us a choice love Him or leave Him

God could have made us Angels with a Heavenly voice
But He made us special He gave us a choice
We could be stars in the sky He controls
But He wanted true love that comes from the soul

We could be just another planet floating through space
But God gave us a conscience that we can’t escape
God want our love and obedience to Him
The choice He gave was righteousness or sin

God wants our love that He doesn’t control
The reward He gives is our eternal soul
The age old question, why are we here
The answer, to be His loving children that He can hold dear

THE WIND OF CHANGE

There was a city below the sea
Surrounded by walls of water
Then Katrina came
They no longer protected thee

The city of New Orleans
You could barely see
Almost like Atlantis
It was going beneath the sea

The famous Bourbon St
Has no more dancing
No more Mardi Gras
No parade of people prancing

Things could have been done
Many years ago
To shore up all the levies
Before Katrina blew

Lives to repair
And a city to rebuild
A whole culture of people
Are washed away like silt

Humans are helpless
As the winds of Katrina blows
We are only observers
As Nature often shows

Many years to rebuild
But may never be the same
New Orleans that coastal city
Might become a memory

The earth is always changing
Has done so for billions of years
It does it at it's own pace

Like so many do

There were three men hanging
On a wooden cross
One was here to save
To die was His cost
The man on the left

To mock the Hebrew King

Tsunami rages under the sea

What a Year

What a year it's been
As we end 2005
More natural disasters
That many have seen in their lives
We had the Tsunami
On those Asian shores
Then there was Katrina
Thought New Orleans
Would be no more
We are already in Afghanistan
Spreading thin In Iraq
Too many young men are dying
Time to bring them back
There was an earthquake
Shattering lives in Pakistan
Bombs are exploding
it seems in every land
There is some trouble in France
People getting out of hand
Then there is the bird flu
That's got everyone scared
Let's hope 2006
Has less trauma and drama
May more love cover us all
And the ones in need
never be forgotten

WHAT COULD HE DO

An evil winds blowing
Across every land
A philosophy of people
To kill is God’s command

Out of the shadows
A vicious ideology
Minds of mad men
Their cause will be their grief

What could he do?
When the sky turned gray
When buldings tumbled
And lives disappeared

What could he do?
When they invaded our peace
Battle them everywhere
So that they never sleep

Most don’t have the stomach
To do what needs to be done
They do a lot of talking
Only cowards cut and run

We have been fighting forever
That’s how we got here
Our military is our power
And what keeps us free

What could he do?
Can’t reason against their cause
Questions are easily ask
Unless his seat is yours

WHAT MY FATHER GAVE TO ME

I got from my father
What his father gave to him
Is the story of Jesus
And all the love He gives

He never had much money
He was busy with eight kids
Worked his finger to the bone
He gave all that he could give

It's winter time
The ground is getting hard
Most living creatures
It's time to slow life down
Gray skies cold winds
Transforms everybody’s mood
The world around has changed
Right under our very own nose

Don't need to languish there
Now that I can see my breath
