CHAPTER ONE

WINTER IS AT HAND

I bounced on my feet in fright when I overheard the thundering of horses’ hooves galloping. I am twenty years old, and an African boy. I was wearing a red sweater mixed with gray color on my shoulder, khaki pants, and leather shoes. All my life, I have lived alone in the woods. Ever since what happened to my past, I never trusted noble societies. All of them have cast me out of my homeland.

Out of my village in Nathan, Woodlands. I learned to knife smith to sell in the marketplace, hunt with archery, make traps, and farm to make ends meet to put food on my table at fourteen. Outside it was cloudy. I could smell a nice rain odor clearing the air, and keeping both the meadow with the woods green. I hid behind the trees of Nathan's rainforest.

In between the cabinet where I lived, the woods, and Nathan of the Woodlands' village, was a clear refreshing river. The village of Nathan has everything perfect. Nathan is the most enchanting, breathtaking, splendid second kingdom in all seven of them. It has vibrant green pastures which sustain life for all the cattle, sheep, and other kinds of grass-eating wildlife.

The sun is not as hot as in Tucson Arizona but fine. These marvelous seven kingdoms have four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. It was the rainy season in Nathan.

The atmosphere of the village was filled with serenity and peace. Nathan’s dark thickest longest great oak trees in the woods. It also has a steeping narrow and zig-zag route throughout the woods. This zigzag route led the villagers to scoop water in their jars, pots, and other water vessels for them to drink. The refreshing smell of the meadow, river, and woods reminds me of my childhood cabinet back in the village of Nathan. Mostly those who are farmers are threatened like vermin to the noble societies. Even worse, the law of all seven kingdoms which is any romantic contact with a noble girl or a boy from these families, will face severe consequences.

‘Jesus, they almost find me. And what are they looking for this time around? I am sure the wicked queen has given up a search to get rid of my life.’ I wondered.

All twelve horses passed by me. It came to mind they were heading to my cabinet in the middle of a vibrating green meadow.

“No! She knows where I live!” I thought aloud.

After I began rushing to my cabinet, I hid close by on a gigantic oak tree.

“Winter is across the seven kingdoms. Is anyone in this cabinet? Please, we need your help. Our Nathan and the other kingdoms in Woodlands are at risky threat.” One guard asked.

When they did not hear answers from me, they continued begging me to come out.

“Mea, I know that you are furious about what the royal family did to you. And you may do so, but all seven kingdoms of the Woodlands need you!” He said.

“My lord it isn’t clear that this Mea is not around! “Another guard said.

“Nonsense! I am sure he is here. And fear not, we are not here to harm you. We want only to speak with you.” He added.

All were about to turn around, but I marched in front of them the moment they looked away.

“My, my, my what do we have here? If it isn't the crown of the thrones' armies?” I scoffed.

He looks over his shoulders where he meets face-to-face with me.

“Christ, my Living God there you are. “He laughed.

After he got down from his horse, he wanted to shake my hands, but I moved back.

“Um, what brings a noble person like you deep in the woods? “I urged.

“All seven thrones of Woodlands are at risk. Humanoid creatures are invading our borders. We are all surrounded! “He gulped.

“And why isn’t the king sending a skillful lord and his armies like you to get rid of them? Neither do I have business with the monarch family. Nor noble people like you! Get out of my land. And out of my face! “I shouted.

“Mea, you are right to be angry with all of us. But there is a problem--? “He paused.

“Um, yes? “I urged.

“These creatures cannot be killed by man-made swords. “The old man said.

“Classic. And what do you want me to do? “I asked.

“Need your help in going to Land of the Source of Life. “He said.

“And what for? Why should I trust you? Besides, what if this is another trap your wicked monarch? “I roared.

“Our king--! “He paused.

“Um, your king, not mine. “I scoffed.

“Right, my king needs you to go there to seek for the Sword of the Spirit! “He answered.

“Sword of the Spirit? And why should I risk my life for this kingdom? I am an outcast, remember? Neither am I interested in tangling myself with people like you. If you excuse me, I was doing something important in the woods. Um, before you all barged into my peaceful life. Go back to tell your king I am not interested. I am out of here! “I said.

All watched me paced away to the woods, out of their sight.

“My lord, what are we going to tell the king? “One of them cried.

“Let us get out of here. And we should tell our king what our only hope told us. “He sighed.

All nodded as their lord climbed on his horse, and they rode away back to the palace. In the woods, I was finishing my last trap when I saw them passing by. I hid in the tall bushes. I put a rabbit into my hunt bag, put my archery under the stomp, and was on my way to the cabinet.

I arrived before my cabinet, marched in, and slammed the door behind me. When I saw the queen with her two daughters in the living room, on their back, there were seven guards.

“Now the murderous herself in my house. How lucky of me! And what brings you here? Besides, I will not help you if this is why you are here. If you excuse me, I have to prepare dinner for tonight. “I said.

“How dare you speak in that manner? “The guard roared.

He was about to unleash his sword, but the queen stopped him.

“No need to stress yourself. After all, I am at fault. My husband cannot show his face here. “She said.

“I wonder why? Um-wait, because his dearest wife embarrassed him in front of noble subjects. Dragging an innocent man in a village square. “I said.

“All of it is truth, Mea. But should we leave the past behind us? Peace needs to be restored in Woodlands. “She said.

“No, I am fine here. Get out of my house! Go save your problem. And do care if it falls or not. That is not my problem. “I said.

Later, I pulled the rabbit out of my hunting bag. I put it on my metal stick and put on the burning flames of the campfire. I was watching it being cooked. I overheard the door open, but before they all could get out, the queen said something to me.

“Mea, my boy, you are right to be angry with me. Instead of controlling my temper, I let it loose in the name of being of higher status than anyone else. I wish I could go back. To undo my mistakes, but I can’t. Now I have put the all kingdom at risk. I only came here to apologize. And ask for your forgiveness. To error is human; to forgive is divine! “She said.

I overheard the door slammed, and I was left alone. Outside, Athalia was glancing at her mother eyes widened.

“Mother, what is the meaning of this? Why waste our time instead of ordering the guards to drag him with us? “She scoffed.

“And you mind your tongue, girl! Instead of telling me the truth, Thalia! Mea’s family is no more because of you! I wish I could listen to you, Nea, but the sin is already being done. We should go. I mean, it's our problem we need to solve ourselves--. “She paused.

“Mother, would I stay for a moment with him, please? You should go ahead! It has been years since I saw my old childhood friend. “Nea said.

“Fine. But hurry to the palace in the morning. Huh, before you give your father a heart attack. “The queen sighed.

“Make sure your Romeo comes with you, Nea. Or else I will come to drag him with me to the palace. “Thalia chuckled.

“Quiet you! And says who that Mea is my Romeo? “Nea scolded.

Athaliah and their mother burst out laughing before disappearing into the outer darkness. Later, Nea marched indoors after shutting the door as she came to sit next to me.

“Not going back, if that is what you are thinking. “I said.

“Good. And I am not forcing you. I miss you, my childhood friend, that is all. To tell you the truth, my mother has become a new creature in Jesus. “Nea said.

"Classic. That is nice for her, I hope. And why are you here, Nea? Should you be at the palace with your people? “I urged.

“Should be at least send me a letter. Or be happy to see me. Mea, you have been missing for six years. And you do not know how did that make me feel! For crying out loud, we are childhood friends. I cherished you the most! “Nea said.

“Classic, she is confessing now! Um, well, I lost my friendship with you the day all my family died. I should let you stay, but by tomorrow I want you to go, understood? “I said.

“Understand, Mea. Truly, you have changed.” Nea grunted.

"I see. And you are still the same naive girl. Still, your sword combats the same? “I asked.

“Not even closer, my friend. “She uttered. “My father is overwhelmed with guilt for what happened to your family. He cannot even forgive her.”

“Um, well, rage can make you do something unforgivable. Tell me who exposed my hiding domain? “I asked.

“I am sure you know him. “She said.

“Great. All I want is to stay hidden, but now I am exposed. There is no peace for me, isn’t there?” I urged.

“Not even close. Now I know where you are hiding, I will come to visit you once I am in Nathan, Woodlands. “Nea remarked.

“Nice. Here is something, enjoy. “I inhaled.

“Huh, thank you, Mea. And I promise to leave you alone tomorrow morning. After all, it is all my fault. If I did not insist on practicing with you in sword training, your family would be around. “Nea inhaled.

“Please, quiet down and eat. Or I will shovel it down your throat. It won’t be a wonderful picture. “I scoffed.

Nea laughed as I observed her munch on her food. After we had done it, Nea went to sleep on the sofa near the warmth of the fire. I covered her with a warm, thick blanket. I stayed awake for a moment before I would get to bed.

“Take your sword, Mea. And fight me like a swordsmith’s grandchild you are!” She chuckled.

I glanced at my adoptive grandfather. He was working on a sword of one of the seven kingdom’s lords. Our cabinet was near a refreshing river, protected Citrine stones, and the greenest meadow. My family were farmers with a great massive land for cropping.

“No, Emunea! “I said.

“And why not?” She asked.

“Um, I am a nobody. And you should ask my grandfather to do sword practice with you. He is the best!” I swallowed.

“Mea, please. Neither are you going to get into trouble. No one will know!” She begged.

“Nea, please. Neither do I want to risk a peaceful life. I have my family.” I said.

Nea picked up the sword and charged after me. I dodged her attack, picked up my sword, and barricaded her second attack. In the distance, I observed my father, and grandparents burst out laughing.

“Christ. And how our son be tricked into that by a girl?” My mother laughed.

“Sure. That’s what you did to me when you were their age. Girls are tricks, I tell you, father.” My father scoffed.

“But yet you fall in love with her. Shame on you, son. Besides, our boy will be a fearsome warrior. Huh, as his father!” My grandfather chuckled. “And his grandfather.”

“Please, get back to work!” My grandmother scolded.

All three of them returned to work, and my mother worked on the meat she bought in the marketplace. Father went to the palace because he was a general in the king’s army. I was knocking over Nea several times, but she struck me down. I got back on my feet, and we continued doing so. Even worse, I was not looking around to see Nea's sister and some of the guards. They came to get her back to the palace in Nathan, Woodlands. We were focusing on our practices so that we did not hear any galloping of horses. I lost my balance, slipped on the Citrine stones, and crashed into the river’s cold water.

“Emunea! And what is the meaning of this? “The girl’s voice shouted.

I threw my sword in fear after I watched her get down from the horse.

“Athaliah. Would you care to tell me why are you here?” Nea roared.

“Jesus! Can you explain to me what a noble girl doing with a common swordsmith’s boy? Sword practicing? “She roared. “Would you pick up your sword? Fight me, my boy. Is there something wrong?”

"Thalia, Let him be!” Nea shouted.

Athaliah picked an extra sword on the ground, but I did not take mine.

I was paralyzed in fright.

“And could you care to tell me why aren’t you taking your sword?” She asked.

My face was covered in sweat, my legs were shaking, and all my being to the core. Enraged, Athaliah strikes my arm as I come back to my senses. I screamed in agony while Nea was overwhelmed with frights. She took her sword and struck her twin elder sister’s arm. Athalia screamed in agony while swinging her sword at Nea.

“Run! Run, Mea! And Athaliah you are nothing but an arrogant girl. Instead of focusing on the political thing that our father is doing, you are here fighting with your people! “Nea roared.

“He is not my subject. He is dead meat! All of them. Wait until I tell, father!” She winced. “Guards, get them. And bring them with me to the palace!”

I run deep in the woods, as I watch family being taken away. Later, all four of them were at the mercy of the king who was sitting on the golden throne.

“Thalia, what is the meaning of this? And what did these innocent people do?” He asked.

“Father, their son injured me. And ran away for his dear life!” Athalia cried.

“Nea, is that the truth?” He asked.

“Not at all, papa. Athaliah is a liar because I am the one who injured her!” Nea uttered.

All eyes exchanged glances at each other and murmured with their eyes widened.

“I am sorry. Did you say you injured your elder sister?” He asked.

“That is right. She is the one who hurt a defenseless boy. We were practicing since his grandfather was busy working on a sword.” She said.

“Perfect. And it seems as if this boy is skillful. I am shocked that you were able to injure your elder sister. And I am the one who asks them to help Nea with her sword-fighting combat. If you go there to get injured yourself, then that’s your problem. Get them out of my sight, they are innocent! “He said.

When the guards help them up, his wife comes out of nowhere. She pierces her dagger on four of them through their chests.

“Husband to me these commoners are not. And their son harms a noble girl, so they shall pay with their lives. All of them! “She cackled.

In horror, the king watched the four people collapse to the floor, and breathe their last.

“No! My queen, what have you done? This old man was one of the best swordsmiths in all of Woodlands. “He roared.

“Ah, my king, you are too soft. No one gets away with harming my girls! “She said.

Nea watched their mother march up to them, but she got away when she was about to kiss the last daughter’s cheek.

“Touch me, Mother. And you are not my mother starting from now! And I told you, I am the one who injured Athaliah. For what you have done, never speak to me again, understood? “Nea grunted.

She ran away out of their presence in tears. Her father did the same as the guards cleaned my family’s bodies out of the throne room. Later, my father was captured too, and was at the mercy of the queen.

“My queen, what is the meaning of this? “He roared.

“Get me your son. And I will spare your life! “She said.

“Why should tell you, my queen? We obeyed the king’s order to help his daughter learn to fight. We are swordsmiths. And that is our job helping others! My son was doing his job as a swordsmith, but your headstrong elder daughter came to seek for troubles! “He shouted. “Unhandled me this instant!”

“Take him to the village square. Tomorrow morning, he will face judgment! “She scoffed.

My father was taken away into the village square. Locked into the execution block, and hands tied. Nea watched from the window. Athaliah was outside with their mother. Her elder sister had a vicious smirk on her face. The guards waited for the queen’s command.

“One last chance, general. If you tell me where your son is, you will live! “She said.

My father did not say a word to her.

“Of with his head! “She demanded.

After the guard raised his sword, both head and body fell with a thud. I watched it happening to my father amid the crowds. Tears were running down my face. When the sun struck my face, I opened my eyes.

“Morning, Mea. And well, I was waiting for you to wake up to say farewell. “She stated.

“I see. And I am going with you? Though I am furious with you people, I can't let get in trouble with hooligans on your way to the palace. “I said.

“That is a good idea. And shall we go? "Nea urged.

“Lead the way, Nea. “I stated.

Nea opened the door, and we found ourselves on our way to the palace. I was exchanging glances with her but kept my eyes ahead of us. After the rain started pouring, we hid under the immense oak tree.

Rain poured down for several minutes, but in the distance, we saw a carriage. In front of it, was an old man who wore a hooded raincoat. I ran before him; he yelped in fright as he came to a complete stop.

“Are you out of your mind, boy? And I could hurt you!” He roared.

“Mercy on me. And we need your help, kind sir. “I said.

“Huh, where are you heading?” He asked.

“Um, back to the palace in the village,” I said.

“Great idea. Get in children, I am heading in that direction. “He chuckled. “Would you care to tell me your name?”

“I am Mea. She is my friend, Nea.” I said.

“Nice to meet you both. On board both of you!” He uttered.

I rushed back to pull Nea by the hand, and we came to climb into the carriage. We watched the old man pull the reins of the horses, we were riding to the village. Nea was sneezing for a moment, but I took one blanket in the carriage to cover her.

“Sure, this will help. “I uttered.

“Thank you very much, Mea. I am glad to go back to the village with you. “She said.

I observed her coming next to me but glanced outside with a nervous expression on her face.

CHAPTER TWO

THE SHADOW OF DEATH

Nea’s eyes were dark brown, her revan colored hair was in a small bun. Her skin complexion is light-medium, which is astonishing. Later, we found ourselves inside the wall of the palace and came to a stop in front of its doors.

“Um, thank you very much. And come Nea, your family awaits you.” I sighed.

“That is right. Let us rush indoors. “She said.

After she held my hand, we both ran for dryness inside the palace’s hallway.

“Mea, I do not know how to thank you. Are you coming?” She asked.

My hands began shaking as I glanced across the hallway, but Nea came to pull my hand.

“Nothing is going to hurt you, my friend. No one is going to come for you.” Nea inhaled.

“Classic. This place brings some terrible memory that is all, Nea.” I said.

“I know, my friend. And for crying out loud, your kingdom needs your help, please!” Nea answered.

We were walking slowly, but we arrived in front of the throne room.

“Ah, welcome back princess. And who is the boy?” The guard asked.

“He is a friend of mine. Come with me, Mea. “She said.

After the guards opened the heavy doors, we marched inside as they slammed shut. In front of us, the king was discussing with six more noble people. All their eyes widened when they saw me getting closer to them with their princess.

“Nea! And you are back? “Her father gasped.

“That is right, papa. And why do you look pale?” She asked.

“I am sorry. I was only worried about you. And welcome back to the palace Mea, I wish I could go back to change things.” He said.

“Um, I have returned your daughter, King Jireh. Now it is time I go back to the woods.” I said.

I was about to pace away when the king got up from his throne to rush after me.

“Wait! Wait, Mea. We need your help. Save us, please. Forgive us for hurting you terribly, but I beg off you my boy!” Old Jireh cried.

“My majesty this is your problem. There is nothing I can do. If you excuse me, I am not interested in risking my life for this kingdom.” I uttered.

“Mea, are you serious?” Nea asked.

In silence, I marched away out of the throne room. Out of everyone’s sight, but rushed in front of the village square. Nea came after me as she stood next to me.

“Would you care to tell me what is it now? And why can’t you people leave me be? All of you have damaged me so much. Now. Get out of my sight!” I roared.

“And why, Mea? Please, our kingdoms need you!” Nea begged.

“Because a long time ago, three families died in the throne room. My father was murdered by your queen. He trusted the king faithfully, but he had him decapitated. Even worse, you all banished me out of my homeland. My kingdom. Now I have no one. So, the woods are my home. Allowed me to go back there! Neither am I going to help you royals! “I shouted.

Nea wailed in tears, but I fixed my eyes on the wooden lock.

“Mea, you truly have changed. Are you serious? Will you not help us? And I am here, aren’t I? Please, I am your friend. I haven’t even given up on you. Cry you! Cry please you change boy. It is fine to pour all of your sorrows--!” She paused.

I paced on the corner of the village square and cried my eyes out while sitting down. Nea came to hug me tightly, as all my sorrows were out. After I had wiped my tears, we were discontinued by the king.

“Still here are we, Mea. Would you help us? And it is fine if you don’t trust us but for the sake of all the seven kingdoms.” Jireh begged.

When something crushing in front of us, dust engulfed the all place. After it had settled, we met face-to-face with a humanoid creature.

“Jesus, my Living God! “I cried.

We overheard it screaming in pain but it flung me hard with its untamable strength.

“How dare you mention that name! And get out of the kingdom, thief!” He roared.

Old Jireh unleashed his sword. All guards with their swords ready as they surrounded the creature.

“And are you all insane? None of you can touch me--!” He paused.

He crashes hard into the nearby stone, which splits into two.

"Classic. If this kingdom is yours, why did you get knocked over hard on the stone?” I scoffed.

The creature charged after me, but our power was a match.

I overpowered it. He was in the color of dark gray, but it was human.

“I am sorry. And who are you? Would you mind telling me what are you?” He roared.

“Um, my question is who are you? Why do you want with our lands?” I urged.

“My name is legion; we are many!” He said.

“Would you care to tell me where you come from?” Old Jireh asked.

“We have been invisible for millennia. Now have crossover to claim over our lands. I should suggest you get out of our lands!” He growled.

“Not even close. No one is leaving these seven kingdoms! “Jiren shouted.

“And do you and everyone think you can defeat us all? Think about it. We never died. Not even your man-made swords can penetrate through our skin.” Legion cackled.

I snatched a sword from one guard and pounced on him while he screeched in agony. I watched it collapse to the ground, but turn to noir gooey.

“Not so invisible are you, down there! “I scoffed.

Deep into the snowy mountains, multiple of the creatures were on horses. One of them had a crown on his head. He was covered in thick and hairy skin.

“My lord, one of us is slain.” One of them said.

“I know, Vierane. But would any care to tell me how the boy did that?” He asked.

“No one knows, my king. He might be an enormous threat to use. We must get rid of him if you want us to conquer the crown of all seven thrones--!” He grunted.

After the creature in front of them unsheathed his sword, he pierced through Vierane’s chest. He collapses into cold snow and freezes into an icy statue.

“Anyone else who wants to lose his dear life?” He urged.

All of them were silent.

“That’s more like it. But I am more confused about how a mere human vanquished Narc. My son!” He snarled. “Neither can we cross over the wall of the kingdoms. How are we going to cross it?”

Later, back at Nathan’s palace, all eyes glanced at me.

“Mea, thousands of our army were slain without bringing one of them down. But how could you?” One lord asked.

“No idea. And double yuck, this is not cool. My hands are covered in gooey!” I gagged.

All of them broke into laughter.

Woodlands are protected by an invisible and unbreakable white barrier. It keeps out evil spirits such creatures I slew. No one had any idea how such a being would break through without burning to ashes. Though all of Woodlands might be invisible, the mistakes of one person after slaying an innocent family are the cause of its weakness.

“Mea would leave the past behind you. And help us, please?” Jireh pleaded.

“Papa, given up on him helping us!” Thalia scoffed. “Nor can I believe my little sister would bring our headstrong savior.”

“Um, I am sorry to have burst your bubbles. I did not want my childhood to get in a tough situation with hoolangs on her way here. And that is the reason I am here.” I said. “Besides, have you all wondered how this creature invades Nathan? I was told by Lord David that the creatures are breaking in little by little.”

“My boy. It is not slow anymore. All of them are closer than we think!” David sighed.

When we all were interrupted by galloping of thundering hooves, we turned around and met face-to-face with a horse without a rider. All of us watched, coming silent in front of me. I saw it in fright from the start, but it became calm when it saw me.

“Nice. That is how to do it, my friend. And what you got there?” I asked.

I overhear neighing as it pulls me by the clothes while glancing behind it. I paced toward it back, I saw a wooden carriage with a thick blanket. Old Jireh told me to wait for a moment, but I uncovered it. All our eyes widened in shock.

“No! No, it cannot be my brother. No!” The old queen cried.

Her brother was turned into an icy statue, his eyes were in the color of sea blue. He was dead.

“Sorry for your loss, my queen. Though I told him to not go alone, he insisted. Besides, Mea, you might be lucky by murdering that creature. We do not know how tough the skin of the rest of them is!” Old Jireh said.

“Classic. Though I am not fond of going to the Land of Source of Life, I have no choice!” I said.

“Not all true, my friend.” Nea chuckled. “And would love to go with him on this quest, papa.”

“Says who that you are going alone? I am going too, my dearest princess.” The male voice declared.

We glanced in the direction where we saw a boy in a crowny hooded trench coat. He was protected by heavy armor, but Nea covered her face in embarrassment. I burst out laughing hard without a sound.

“And who could the lucky man be, Nea?” I laughed.

“Mea, don’t ask. And I have been telling him I am not interested, but he kept bothering me. Making my life miserable!” She coughed.

“Love is blind, my friend,” I said.

“Do tell, but Pilate’s behaviors are too intoxicating for my liking.” Nea snickered.

After the two of us saw him getting down from his horse, Pila came to hug Nea passionately by pushing me hard to the ground.

“Let go of me, Pila. And how could push our guess so hard. Besides, you might be a lord of Obed lands, but I am—forget it!” Nea roared.

“Pardon me for such behavior, my princess!” Pila apologized.

“Neither am I your princess! How many times do I have to tell you? And you are too spoiled for my liking, your lordship! Here Mea, I will help you. “Nea shouted.

“Jesus, Mother. Nea reminds me of you when you step on her foot wrongly. Especially if it had to do with a curtain, someone!” Thalia laughed.

“And don’t get on my nerve, Thalia! I can hear you--!” She roared.

I pulled her back while Thalia hid behind her mother in fear.

“Relaxed, Nea. Both of us know how Thalia gets on people’s nerves, but she is your sister. And if you want to come with me on this quest, have to be careful. I mean, the two of you. I had enough traumatized past, you know.” I said.

“No need to worry, Mea. And I have a map in my position.” Nea said.

"Nice. And you came prepared, Nea!” Pila swallowed.

“That’s more like it. And yes, I did. My dream is to have a quest once in a while.” She uttered.

“I see,” I answered.

“Jesus, here it is a shortcut deep in the Valley of Shadow of Death’s woods. We were told that the Sword of the Spirit can cut through anything.” Nea added.

“Emunea!” Jireh said.

“I am listening, papa. Does that mean I may not go? I will be careful.” Nea said.

"All I want is for the three of you to be safe. That is all I have to say. “He uttered.

“Classic. And when I come back, make sure you reconcile with your wife. We are human, no one is perfect.” I said.

When I was interrupted by the white horse that brought David’s body, it wanted me to climb on its back.

“Nice. I will be honored, my friend. You are not the only one who loves to quest, Nea. There are two of you.” I laughed.

Her father gave Nea his horse, which she climbed on. Pila did mount on he’s, but when I pulled the reins of my horse, it galloped at the fastest speed.

“Mea! Brook, wait up!” Nea said.

After she pulled hers, she discovered next to me.

“Brook, please slow down. And you are too fast!” Nea begged. “No need to hurt your rider do we?”

I observed Brook come to a stop while I was panting for breath. I get down from him to calm down for a moment.

“Are you unwell, Mea?” She asked.

“Jesus, I am fine. Um, I need a break.” I said.

I crashed down on a meadow, but Nea was dying of laughter.

“Yeshuah, Mea. And it seems as if this your first time on a horse?” She chuckled.

“Nice to figure out. All my life I grew up in the woods, I am a farmer swordsmith boy, remember!” I said.

“I do remember. And it is where everything went south. I wish I could do something for your family, but I can’t! Our friendship was broken. There is no way I could mend it!” Nea said.

“I see. And don’t lose hope yet, Nea, who knows? “I said.

Nea came to lie down on the grass meadow as she glanced at me. I was looking up at the sky as it was clear, the sun was warm, and refreshing after the pouring rain early in the morning.

“Are you two done sunbathing? And for crying out what are doing lying down next to him, Nea? Remember you are a noble girl!” Pila roared.

“Good. Spare me with that noble title nonsense. Out here, I am older enough to do things my way. I am not eleven, but seventeen years old, comprehend!” Nea scolded. “If you want, you should go ahead of us.”

We overheard the galloping of a horse in the distance, Nea and I were on our feet. I observed her holding the hilt of her sword. Pila was holding to he’s while on the horse. All three of us waited for riders to be in sight until they arrived in front of us.

“Caleb. And why are you here?” Nea asked.

“We were ordered to protect both of you, Nea.” He said. “And a certain someone, I guess.”

He stared at Pila, but we snickered in laughter.

“It is nice that all seven of you are here.” She chuckled.

“Mea. How do you do? And may I remind you that you haven’t lost all your family! “He said.

“Meaning?” I urged.

“Huh, well, old Nicolas is my biological father. He impregnated a girl nineteen years ago. Though you are a year older them me, we are siblings. “Caleb laughed. “Our mother is waiting to see you.”

"I see. Classic. I did not know my father had a son! Would care to tell me why you joined the army?” I asked.

“I want to avenge him, but once I hear you were life. I did not want to do it. Huh, I was hoping you could do it, but you did not do it. I was more than glad that you couldn’t when they visited you.” He said.

“And so do I, Cal. It is getting late, we should be on our way.” I sighed.

“Are you sure, Mea?” Nea urged.

“No need to worry. On your horse.” I said.

Nea climbed on her horse, and I did the same. Brook started collapsing gently, Nea and the other two were to my left side. The other six were behind us. I glanced in a further distance, the sun was going to set. Nea looked at her map.

“We are five miles to get into the valley!” She said.

“And would you care to tell me why is called that name?” I asked.

“It is called the valley because there are some creatures that can suck you to the bones. And are hard to kill!” Pila said.

“Thank you for the demonstration, Pila. And how do you know about it?” Nea groaned.

“Uh, you used to tell me when we were fourteen, have you forgotten that?” He urged.

“It is a good thing you remember that, Pila.” Nea scoffed.

“My good God, our princess seems to be in a sticky situation. What shall we do?” One guard laughed.

Nea gave the guard an eye enrage.

“Don’t even start, Boaz. All I want is a peace of mind!” She said.

I was dying of laughter.

“Would you care to tell me, who are you? And what have you done, Nea, our princess?” I urged.

Nea stared at me but broke into laughter. All the rest of them joined her, but I pulled the reins hard but gently. Brook’s hooves galloped like thunder, but other horses were faster to catch up to me. In the distance, about two miles away, we could see that valley of shadow of death.

“Mea, the king wanted me to give you this.” He said.

“Wait, what is that my father’s royal double-edged sword?” Nea asked.

“Sure it is. Our grandfather made it for him. We are descent of swordsmiths after all by blood or not. This sword I have belongs to our father. “Cal inhaled.

“I remember these marks. And I will accept it with honor.” I uttered.

Later, we were in front of the woods during the sunset.

“Ready, Mea?” Nea asked.

My sword’s sheath was on my back, but the sword was in my hand. All of them had theirs in their hands.

“Classic. Now everyone is ready, so am I!” I said.

After Brook started going ahead of them gently, the rest of them did the same. When we were deep in the dark woods, we could hear all the sounds of creatures in hiding.

“Should we rest, Mea? I am exhausted!” Pila whispered.

“Nice. And you might be right, but all of us need to be cautious. Wait, I know what to do!” I said.

I saw a lake of tar, so I made an eleven-foot circle with a hole. I observed tar pouring in. When it was full, I blocked the lake of tar and our circle. I lit up, and the unbroken circle was engulfed in flames. Nea’s eyes widen in shock.

“No more creature that can suck our flesh to the bones,” Nea said.

“Make sure that no one is out of the circle. We have big enough space if you want to ease yourself.” I said.

All of them nodded as we were enjoying our dinner.

“Mea, how do you learn to do that?” Nea urged.

I looked at her before I would respond to her question.

CHAPTER THREE

 RAGE OF A GRIEVING FATHER

I needed to answer Nea’s questions as Pila and the rest of the guards were waiting for the answer with thrills. I inhaled hard as I glanced at Cal and then Nea.

“Mea aren't you going to say something to the girl?" Cal asked.

"I grew up in the woods alone remember? And you do not know how risky the woods are, so I taught you how to survive myself.” I said.

We all went to bed, but I was awakened frightening snarling of the creature. When I saw its shadow, I remained inside for a moment. I overheard others silently crawling to Cal, Nea, and I was as they shivered in fright.

“No one makes a sound, understand!” I whispered.

After we all saw sharp claws reaping our tent to half, I shouted to everyone to run to the other tents.

“Mea, no!” Nea cried.

“We need to go princess, fast!” Pila shouted.

He pulled her by the hand and crawled fast into the other tents. I was face-to-face with the creature, which roared at me in rage.

“Nice to meet you--!” I paused.

I was sent flying across the woods yard, but I stood on my feet and coughed out blood. “Jesus, you are tough!” I said. I observed it going underground, but I was alert as I scanned my surroundings.

“Pila was not wrong about you being challenged to be slain.” I coughed.

Later, I was pulled underground by it as Nea screamed my name. Underneath, I struggled with the beast, and I wondered how the creature got into the ring of fire. I dodged its sharp claws but pierced my sword in its chest. It screamed in pain as the ceiling started to crumble around me but rushed out of the underground as my feet carried me. I was out on the open surface, but the hole buried itself from indoors. I collapsed to the ground when I saw bloody woods on my left shoulder. Nea and others came to surround me, but Cal dragged me inside the spare tents.

I was panting hard. It was aching all over my body.

“Never! This cannot be!” Cal cried.

“What seems to be the problem?” Nea asked.

“Mea is poisoned by the creature’s claw. And we must attend to his wounds fast. This is a poison, which has a life-threatening substance.” He said.

“For real? Like what?” Nea asked.

“Not to worry, because I came with the antidote. And it is going to text terrible, but I need your help in holding him down!” Cal remarked.

“Do it, please. We do not have time!” Nea cried.

After Cal rushed into his huge satchel, he came out with the antidote in an enormous bottle. He opened it and he poured down my throat, I struggled to turn over but I couldn’t. Nea was closing her as sobbed in tears, but I paused as I breathed normally.

“Christ, there we are. And by morning, he will be fine.” Cal panted.

Nea was glancing at me with worry while the rest of them sounded asleep, but went to sleep next to me. Later, the sun strikes on my face, and I opened my eyes. I pace out of the ten after I see everyone still asleep. I winced in pain. When I glanced to my left side, I saw a bloody wound.

“Jesus, my Living God!” I said.

I checked it and saw that I was covered in bondages.

“Mea. And you are fine!” The familiar voice said.

I turned around, and Nea came to hug me tightly.

“Never scare me like that, do you hear me!” She scolded.

“Fine, fine, calm down. I am alive aren’t I?” I said.

“For now. But you need to be careful next time.” Nea scoffed.

I observed around, we were surrounded by fire. My eyes widened when I saw big enough space wasn’t burning.

I agile fast and saw half of the circle covered by dirt.

“Classic. Now I know the reason the beast could invade our safety.” I inhaled.

“Shall we continue our quest, Mea!” Nea said.

“Hold on, I am coming!” I remarked.

I was casting the dirt inside the wall, but all the rest of them came to help me. In no time, finished and were galloping our way to the Land of the Source of Life. Pila kept his eyes on Nea, but she focused ahead.

“Must be in love with him, aren’t you, Nea? And remember I was in love with you first.” He said.

“Meaning. What are you talking about? In love with whom?” Nea asked.

“Spare me with that excuse. And I know you like books. I care so much about you.” Pila answered.

“I am sorry. Mea and I are childhood friends, Pila. He is the one I knew first. Would you care to tell me what is wrong with you suddenly?” She urged.

“Nothing that important, majesty. I was curious that is all.” He stated.

“I see. And I am sure you are handsome, but your intoxication behaviors are not for my liking. I have told you a million times!” She stated.

“I understand. And you, Mea, remember Nea is a noble girl. Neither is she interested in you!” Pila roared.

Enraged, I pulled my reins, and Brook galloped at the fastest speed. Out of everyone’s sight. Though Nea called my name, I did not respond to him.

“Should we go after him, princess?” One guard asked.

“No, leave him. And it is all thanks to a certain boy. Jesus, you act like a child sometimes.” Nea scolded.

Pila yelped in fright, which caused Cal and the others to laugh. Later, I was myself deep in the gloomy woods of the valley.

“Brook! Brook! Slow down, please. You are too fast!” I cried.

I observed Brook continue to gallop, but I lost my balance and crashed hard to the ground. I winced in pain as I saw my wound opening. After I collapsed to the floor for a moment, my strength was restored.

“Rest my child. And you are not ready to be wandered around.” She cackled.

In front of me, there were twelve women both young and old. One of them came to attend to my wounds. It caused the old woman to face off in a rage out of sight. We were deep into the peaceful cave.

“And you are? Would care to tell me where am I?” I urged.

“If I tell you, will you get out of here?” She said.

“Fine. And what is it?” I asked.

“Then follow me if you want to know. Can you walk? Do you have enough strength in your body?” She urged.

“Classic. And I will manage!” I said.

After the girl helped me to my feet, her eyes widened when saw me standing with firm.

“That’s it, my friend! Now come with me!” She chuckled.

I watched her leading the way silently, but I followed without a word.

“This way, boy. We are almost there. “She said.

“I am right behind you,” I uttered.

We agile for a few minutes before I crashed into her. In front of me, I saw an unspeakable sight.

“And what is the meaning of this? Who are you, people?” I said.

“My name is Shiloh. And you are in the domain of the Shamans of Women Tribes. They lure men to this place, rest with them in bed, and viola you are in this place by morning. Huh, I was to do that to you, but I do not want to.” She cried. “All my life, I have seen these innocent men die a scorching and despicable death.”

“My good Jesus. What tough situation I put myself in--?” I said.

Both of us were stopped when all the places began to shake life-threatening. We overheard the Shamans Women Tribes screaming in fear.

“Good God. And would you care to tell me what is the name of what you said?” Shiloh asked.

“Um, He is the Creator of all living things,” I said.

“Wait, even me?” She asked.

“Sure, you too. He is the God of all gods. All the earth is in the palm of His hands. He left the throne of glory, a word becoming flesh, and live among us!” I said.

“Wait, what? How could a word become flesh? It is impossible!” Shiloh gasped.

“Um, with Jesus, all things are possible. For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten; that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” I said.

“Are you telling me He came to die for me?” Shiloh asked.

“That is right. If you believe in Him, you shall have life forever--!” I paused.

“I believe! I believe! And I want to know this man, Jesus.” She uttered.

“So, you should accept Him in your life as your personal Lord and Savior. “I uttered.

“I accept Him. I accept me with all my heart!” Shiloh screamed.

“Nice. Is there anybody of water nearby?” I asked.

“There is, why?” She demanded.

“Um, you need to be baptized now or later. It is your decision!” I said. “I cannot force you--!”

“I want to do it right now! And come with me!” I said.

Shiloh led the way, and I paced behind her when we came to in front of the waterfall.

“Is this perfect?” She asked.

“Nice choice. If you say saw, come with me.” I said.

“Fine, I will.” Shiloh inhaled.

After she followed me into the water, we were in the middle of the river.

“Do you Shiloh accept Jesus to be your personal Lord and Savior?” I urged.

“Yes, I accept Him.” She said.

“Then I, Mea, baptized you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. You died with Christ and rise with Him.” I said.

After I observed Shiloh wiping water from her face, but pulled me out the water with joy unending.

“That is it. And you do not need to do any traditional ceremony?” She laughed.

“Not even close. And that it is!” I answered.

“I see. We need to get out here before you end up like those bones of men on poles.” She sighed.

“Lead the way, Shiloh. By the way, my name is Mea!” I said.

“Nice to meet you, Mea. And I was wondering if I would come with you to whatever place you are heading.” Shiloh said.

“That would be fine with me. We both are children of God in Christ, aren’t we?” I chuckled.

In no time, after we walked a few minutes, we were at the edge of the cave exit. Here we are!” Shiloh swallowed.

Deep in the cave, the old woman was impatiences because of Shiloh taking too long with me.

“Must she enjoy sleeping with the boy all day? Would she save it for tonight?” The old woman roared.

“Let the girl enjoy, chiefess. Even worse, by the next tomorrow, he will be scorched like the rest of them. Our sun god will be pleased with us. And they will reward us beyond our wildest dream!” Another Shaman woman answered.

When another girl Shiloh’s age came to check, she screamed at the top of her lungs.

“Shiloh is gone. She is not here with the boy!” She screamed.

All the older women come rushing in, their eyes widened in shock. Find them! I want my grandchild returned now!

“No, no! And who knows how horrible thing that boy is doing to her! “She sobbed.

Shiloh pulled me as we both jumped from the three-cave mountain to the ground below.

“We must run for our lives. Soon then they will discover we are gone!” Shiloh laughed.

“There they are! Get them!” The old woman roared. “Shiloh, my girl, come on back! Are you harmed anywhere? Did the boy do something to you?”

“No need to worry, grandmother. I am fine, but I have chosen a different path! Huh, path of everlasting life--!” She shouted.

“Child, but the world out there is risky. If anything happens to you, I will never forgive myself!” The old shaman woman begged.

“Farewell, grandmother. I will send you a letter, but my path and yours are two different things!” She said.

I was in the lead, and Shiloh was behind me. Later, we meet face-to-face with Nea and the others.

“Mea, there you are! And where have you been? Besides, who is the lucky girl?” She asked.

After she got down from her horse, she paced towards us.

“Her name is Shiloh. She is from the Shamans women tribe, but helps escape a certain death.” I said.

“Which is?” Nea asked.

“My grandmother persuaded me to sleep with him. By the next morning, we would sacrifice him on a scorching sun for our sun god, but I did not want to.” She swallowed.

“Good. Thank you for bringing him back, Shiloh. And welcome to the quest--!” She paused.

When all ten of us were interrupted by the loudest screeching immersive hawks, we observed the sky we saw the Shaman girls in them.

“Christ! We need to get out here quick!” Shiloh screamed.

Brook came galloping fast, I climbed on his back, and Shiloh was in front of me. Nea did the same on hers, and we rode off deep into the woods. We all were dodging attacks from the shamans on hawks, but they kept coming after us. Others crashed into trees and were cast to the ground. In time, we lost all of them after hiding in thick trees with our horses.

“Jesus, what was that, Mea!” Nea scolded.

“Um, that was the Shamen Women Tribes!” I said.

“I am sorry. Are you telling us, that’s her family? How were they able to find you?” She roared.

“Our gatherers find him unconscious from the wounds in the woods!” Shiloh uttered.

“Jesus! This is a challenging situation we have put ourselves in. These women never give up easily. Especially if one of them is nabbed by a boy!” Nea screamed.

“Meaning. Would you care to tell me what are you talking about?” I asked.

“What she means is these women are fearful of outside people. In that case, men because of their aggressive behaviors. Thus the cause of sleeping with them. Huh, that they may impregnated by them. After they have done with them, they sacrifice them to their gods.” The guard answered.

“And how did you come to know about this, Noe?” I asked.

“My mother is a shaman, but she escaped why pregnant with my father. Ever since she has been living with us for fifteen years.” He stated.

“No way! All my life, I have been believing a lie!” Shiloh gasped.

“That is right. Not all outsider people are wicked. Some of them are good.” Nea said. “Ready to continue our journey, Mea?”

“Let us get out of here!” I nodded.

Later, we were on our way to the riding to the Land of the Source of Life. Nea was staring at me as I did the same.

“Would you care to tell me what is wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing serious. No need to worry about me, Mea. Are you sure that you want her to come with us?” She asked.

“Classic, right? She has followed her path of deciding to follow Jesus. Neither does she want to turn back!” I said.

“Are you saying that she believes in Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior?” Nea remarked.

“Nice guessing, my friend. And she is in expert hands!” I said.

“I see. And we are about three days to arrive in the Land of the Source of Life. So, Sword of the Spirit, here we come!” Nea squealed.

Our horses’ hooves galloped like thunder. High in the sky, a Shaman girl the same age as Shiloh was flying on an enormous hawk without a sound.

In the snowy mountain, the creatures were strategized on how to crossover the highest mountain peak fortress wall of Woodlands. Surrounded by legions of armies from all seven kingdoms. He and his creatures were deep into the dark caves. He went out of the cave and stood in front of the man, shivering from the cold. He locked him into the stony locker.

“My, my. And do we have here? I was hoping to cooperate with me, but no. Time for you to meet your Maker. Perhaps I should honor with your head to be one of these fallen comrades of yours.” He cackled.

“Never! I will not tremble. Or fear because greater is He who is me; the he who is in you--.” He shivered.

“Excellent. And that is fine by me!” He uttered.

After the crowny creature raised his double-edged sword, his head collapsed to the ground with a thud. His scream echoes through the howling of the wind, but he cackled in a malevolent way.

“This is going to happen to you, murderer of my son!” He roared.

He returned to the caves. He was sitting on his rocky table seeing strategies papers his generals, captains, and Lts. had made, but he was not satisfied.

“No, this is not going anywhere! And all these strategies are useless! Where is my son when I need him the most!” The hairy creature roared.

Enraged, he cast the useless strategies paper into the burning flames. He broke the rocky table in pieces, as other his subjects whimpered in fear.

“My majesty, you need to relax. Everything will work out! Besides, your favorite nephew which I am is here. “He swallowed.

“And maybe I should send you in Nathan instead of my only son!” He roared. “Get out! Get out of my sight, boy!”

He observed him get on his feet and was out of his sight. Creatures’ king inhaled as he shook his head in sadness.

“That boy will not get away from my wrath. For slaying my son, I will grind his bones to make my bread!” He growled.

His eyes turned into the color of red, but back to normal.

“Relax, my majesty. And you have a visitor. “His nephew chuckled in fear.

“Bring our gues in, Marcin.” He said.

He was interrupted by a woman who paced in.

“Nemesis. And what brings you here?” He asked.

“Um, I came with the good news my old friend!” She said.

“I am not your friend. And you should show me some respect, grandchild. Or next, your head will roll on the snow.” He scolded.

“Easy, easy. I can see you are still furious about my father’s death. And you should know I am a daughter of the strongest lady in Woodlands. Putting her on the seventh big throne is out of the question.” She said.

She observed her grandfather pacing away, but her eyes turned to the colored gold. He watched the rocky table being restored.

“Here is my mother’s strategies paper plan, my majesty. “Nemeses smirked.

She took out the paper and put it in front of him on the table. His eyes widened in shock, but his face was overwhelmed with satisfaction. Causing him to be cackled with thrills.

Later, midst of the seven kingdoms of Woodlands, a woman with a malevolent smirk sat on the big violet throne. Her eyes turned a golden color, but back to normal as she cackled in laughter.

CHAPTER FOUR

THE GREAT OAK TREE HAS FALLEN

We were all almost at the edge of the valley of the shadow of death when we were ambushed by four shaman girls. All of us went crashing hard to the ground, but we unsheathed our swords to prepare our clashing with them.

“Mea! Every one of you! Enough! I have told my grandmother, I am going with Mea and the other on my will! Why isn’t difficult for her to understand?” Shiloh roared.

“Our princess you cannot be serious? And your grandmother is worried sick. Neither do you do not know what outsiders did to your mother!” She said.

“Would you care to tell me what are you talking about?” Shiloh urged.

“Fifteen years ago, your mother was defiled by a jerk outside, man. She conceived, but when it was time to give birth to you, she lost a lot of blood. Causing her demised! “She roared. “People like them are not to be trusted!”

“But I have my path to follow, which is the path of my Heavenly Father. I am not going back there.” Shiloh remarked.

“And I do know that, princess!” She answered.

“How do you know that, Jochebed?” She demanded.

“I am one. All of my family are Christians, but we worshipped Him in secret.” She swallowed.

“Perfect, Jocy. And if outsider people are not trusted, she should they done something terrible. Or face the same fate as the boy we rescue from wild beasts?” Shiloh said. “I am sure that there are some of the good men. Not all are aggressive!”

“Shiloh, I beg of you. Come home with us!” Jocy pleaded.

“No! My choice is to know more about the outside world. And I don’t want to be locked in the cave all my life. Besides, this boy’s mother is a Shaman. She has been out here for fifteen years.” Shiloh answered.

“I am sorry she has?” The voice said.

All of us glanced in that direction the direction heard the voice, they met Shiloh’s grandmother.

“If fact, my boy, why did not defile my grandchild when you had a chance?” She urged.

“Um, because it is a sin to do such a thing in my Christian faith,” I said.

“I am sorry, you are a disciple?” She asked.

“Sure, I am. Aren’t you?” I said.

“I was, but I was angry with God for allowing such a wicked man to do such a wicked thing to my only daughter?” She sobbed.

“Nice. And sometimes is challenging to understand God, but it happened for a purpose.” I said. “That’s not the reason for you to give up your faith in Him.”

After I saw an old woman collapse to the ground, she burst out crying in sorrow. Shiloh went to hug her tightly and comforted her until all her painful sorrow was gone.

“I need to go with them, please. I will write to you!” She pleaded.

“Fine, but promise me you will be fine.” The old woman said. “And you my boy, would keep an eye on her?”

“No need to worry. I will keep an eye on her, ma’am.” I said.

“Then I have no choice but to go with them, understand! Would care to tell me your name? I am called, Lea!” She uttered.

“Nice to meet you, Lea. My name is Mea.” I answered.

“And the same to you, Mea, my boy. I am going back to the caves. Isn’t it fine to return to God now?” She asked.

“God is waiting for you with open harm. As Him for His forgiveness, forgive a person who did terrible things to your daughter, and accept Him back as your personal Lord and Savior.” I said.

“Right. I have been baptized, so I only need to accept Him back.” Lea uttered.

I nod while we all begin the ride on our way north. All the girls from Shiloh’s tribes followed the old woman back to the caves. We were getting even further until we could no longer see them.

“Mea, what is the name of the animal we are on?” She asked.

“Um, it is the horse? And you never heard it?” I urged.

“No, I never heard it. This is my first time--.” Shiloh said.

“We have a minute to reach those mountains. And would you care if we rest when react it?” Nea asked.

“That is right we will rest,” I said.

“Great. It says on the map the Wilderness of Shires.” She swallowed.

“Wilderness of Shires, that is a bit of an odd name. Why would anyone call such a name?” Noe demanded.

“No one knows. We should pray that everything goes according to our will if God will allow it!” Cal said.

Later, our horses galloped the into mountain hills of the wilderness.

Our horses were tied to a long closer by, and all ten of us sat around the campfire. When we all were discontinued by the screaming of two children, but unleashed my sword. All of us jumped to our feet in fright, but I told everyone to wait for me.

“No, no! No, Mea, I am coming with you!” I said.

“Nea, no, I want nothing to happen to you. Besides, stay here with everyone in the ring of fire, please.” I begged.

Nea did not let go of me, but I slipped out of my hands and was on my way deep in the forest. In time, at the same hour, a girl was pushed on the cold ground, crying by a man older than me. Other men held onto the boy who was with her as they all were snickering in laughter.

“No. No! And please, I beg of you. Don’t do this to me!” She cried.

“Don’t do this to me“. And you are too sweet for me to let go, babe! Would be best to cooperate with me or your man get it!” He roared.

He pushed her harder on the floor as screamed defenselessly. He was getting ready to defile her, but I pounced from the thickest of the woods. I knocked him hard to the ground, screaming in pain. He tastes his blood. After the girl ran to my side when she got up from the ground. Enraged. I saw him on his feet from the ground. When he saw me, his eyes widened in doubt.

“And how dare do such a thing? Are you wishing for their deathbed? Do you know who I am?” He roared.

He looked in front of him, his eyes widened in shock. Christ.

“Would you care to tell me who are you? And what are doing in my woods?” He ordered.

“No, it is not. This is our home, but you and your men have stolen from us. Massacre most of our people in the name of “protecting us from danger in the world“. She cried.

“Nice to know. Besides, do you think that this boy will protect all twenty of us? It would be best if you come lay with me in silence!” He scoffed.

“Um, isn’t that interesting of an old man wanting to for himself on a child? Twenty is a number, men. And men like you, are the reason defenseless women are afraid to come out to experience the outside world.” I roared. “I am telling you to order your men to let go of the boy now! Or else--!”

“Or else what hero?” One man laughed.

After he charged after me, he saw his arm fall off. Causing him to scream in agony. All the men observed it in fear. One of them was about to run away, but I unleashed my arrow and bow and let it free. I watched it pierced on the back of the man’s crown, and he crashed to the floor. After the boy ran next to the girl, I turned around while pacing towards them.

“Are the two of you hurt?” I asked.

“No, we are fine, sir. Thank you very much for coming to our help!” The boy cried.

“No need to worry. Both of you are safe-!” I said.

“Not so fast--!” The man gagged.

When my sword sliced his throat, he collapsed to the floor. All sixteen charged against me enraged, but I clashed with them. I slew one by one until there weren’t none.

“Is that all of them?” I urged.

“Sure. That most of them, but this one is the last of them.” The girl said.

She was covered in expensive pain, her dress was in a variety of colors. Her hair was like a dark sky, brown eyes, and chestnut skin, which was astonishing. I observed the boy, she was wearing the same clothes, but his arms were painted the same color as the girl’s cheeks. Going further, the girl was around twelve but seemed adult for her age. Her friend next to her was fourteen years old.

“Spare my life. Let me go! I beg of you! “The man shivered.

Enraged, I knocked him hard to the cold floor and pulled him by his long hair.

“Man, like you, should be punished for your wicked way. And I want to do that, but I got another idea in mind!” I scoffed.

“No, please, I beg of you! Don’t take me back there!” He screamed.

“Lead the way home. I got something for your people.” I said.

Both of them led the way with smiles on their faces. In time, we find them in their village. All of their people were looking at me and laughed when they overheard the man wailing like a child.

“Miriam! Ezra! Thank you, Lord God. And where were you?” The old man cried.

“We were nabbed by this old man. He almost succeed if it was not for this boy!” Miriamun shivered.

“But you are only thirteen. How could do such a thing to my grandchild? And no man of your kind is going to save from for my rage! Take him away, men. I am sure you know what to do with him!” He roared.

When the men with spears, pounced on him and dragged him to the outer darkness.

“My boy, thank you. And I do not know how should I appreciate you for saving my two grandchildren. Though they are cousins.” He chuckled. “Come to join us, please.”

“No thank you. I have people I need to go to! “I said.

“Nonsense! It is too dark out there. Rest to return there tomorrow.” He begged.

He pulled me by the hands, and we sat around the warmth of the campfire. Deep in the woods, Nea was waiting with a worried expression.

“Must you wait on him all night?” Shiloh asked.

“Sure. And Shiloh, you still awake?” She inhaled. “He still no back! And Mea promises me, he will be back, but he is not.”

“Not to worry. I am sure he has to return the people he saves to their village.” Shiloh said.

“Perfect. And I hope you are right. Let us go to rest.” Nea said.

“That’s the spirit, my friend!” Shiloh laughed.

Both girls paced to their tent. In the village I was, the old man led me to my sleeping hut, and I followed him without a sound.

“See you tomorrow morning.” He said.

He left my sight after I bid him farewell. The next morning came without delay. I opened my eyes and came face to face with Miriamun. She was asleep, but her grandfather paced him, and he chuckled with his eyes widened.

“My grandchild must be fond of you to sleep here with you.” He said.

“Don’t tell she slept with me?” I blinked.

“May she did. And she did not perhaps, who knows.” He chuckled. “Even if she did, I am glad it’s her savior!”

“Um, yuck, don’t say that!” I gagged.

I observed the old man burst out laughing, which caused her to wake up.

“Morning papa! And would you care to tell me your name?” She asked. I am called, Mea, Miriam. And did you sleep well?” I asked.

Her cheek turned red, and she ran out of the hut.

“Um, say I said something wrong?” I asked.

“Not at all. It is in our tradition for a girl to sleep with her rescuer.” I laughed. Um, well, the tradition is wrong! We are Native American, after all.”

“She is only thirteen, Jesus! And I am going to the others!” I scolded.

I rushed out of my tent, but the villagers were waiting for me with stuff to give to me. All of them gave to me, which they put in a car and a white horse. I bid farewell to them after saying thank you and rode off to be with the rest of my team. Later, I pass by the location where I rescued Miriamun and Ezra, but the bodies of the men I slew, are nowhere to be found.

“Mea, there you are. And was worried sick. Why do you have red paint on your face?” Nea asked.

“Red paint on my face?” I gasped.

When I rushed in front of the still river water, my eyes widened.

“Um, yes, I realized a girl and her cousin I rescued were Native American,” I said.

“Soare  tones the one who painted you with this expensive red paint!” She asked.

“Nice idea, Nea. And should we get going? We have a long way to go!” I said.

Nea broke out laughing hard but hugged me tightly because she knew why I was nervous.

“Smart girl!” She whispered to Shiloh.

“Will you care to explain to me?” She asked.

“Native American girls are fond of men who rescued them in a life-threatening situation. In the night, she might sneak into a hut Mea lay.” Nea laughed.

Shiloh’s eyes widened but joined her in laughter. We all climbed on our horses when I gave Shiloh the horse I was given by the villagers. Our horses’ hooves galloped like thunder through the valley terrain of the mounts nonstop.

“We have two days till we arrive at our destination!” Nea said.

Around that same time, deep in the dark woods, Jireh and his men have bows and arrows even spears in their hands. All ten of them quest deeper into the dark woods in silence until they see Antelope passing by without noticing them. Old Jireh was about to let go of his arrow when two pierced both his shoulders. He collapsed to the ground as he was surrounded by guards and his general.

He was taken to the palace but opened his eyes. Jireh saw his wife and daughter. Jireh’s wife was an African British woman. Has short colored hair in a bun-like tiara, and a crown on top of tiara-style hair. Her eyes were dark brown and wore a crowny twenty-first-century sea-blue long-sleeved dress gown.  She was the daughter of a farmer, but the king who was a European youth prince. He fell in love with her when she was selling fresh fruits in the marketplace. In time, they became friends, engaged, and two days later were married. Ever since that day, they have been a married couple for seventeen years.

“Papa, you are awake? And how are you feeling?” Thalia asked.

“Unwell, my child. And where is Nea?” He winced.

“Nea went on the quest to the Land of the Source of Life. The old woman remarked.

“Marvelous. I do remember. And we should tell our daughter the truth, my queen. Now we have reconciled, Sheba!” He grunted.

“My majesty, you should rest don’t speak. I am there is time to tell them the truth!” Sheba cried.

“No, my queen. Death will knock at my door in any minute!” He grunted.

“Fine. Tell our daughter, if you insist!” She cried.

“Thalia, my girl!” Old Jireh uttered.

“I am listening, papa.” She sobbed.

“I don’t know how am I going to explain this to you, but Nea is your older sister!” Jireh coughed.

“Wait, what? Nea, my older sister, but I look much older than her.” Thalia said.

“That is right. We only did that to save both of you.” Sheba said.

“Save both of us. So, I have been living a lie?” She roared.

“Correct you are. If our enemy knew Nea was older than you, both of you would be life-threatening risk. And so are you because my twin daughters are described to be an abomination for the king of all Woodlands to have twins!” Jireh said.

When both of them saw the king shaking uncontrollably, the royal doctor rushed in.

“No! No! This was not there when I checked our king earlier!” I yelped.

“Meaning?” Sheba asked.

“Our king I am afraid is poisoned by the two arrows. And it is spreading rapidly.” He said.

“Can you save him?” Thalia roared.

“No chance, my princess. Because the poison has damaged all his orgasms. There is nothing I can do to save him.” He said.

“For real? Old Joel, are you going to let my father and a husband die?” Thalia cried.

“Mercy on me, my princess, my queen. If I knew that the king was poisoned earlier, I would save him. But it is too late!” He sighed.

Joel bid the two people farewell, and out of their sight.

Old David came rushing to the infirmary room. Observing his king lying there unmoved, his eyes widened in doubt.

“No, it can’t be! Our great oak tree, poisoned? And who could have been against the crown?” He inhaled. “From the start, he knew this would happen, but I thought he was joking. He said “When I am no more, here is my proof of who will wear the crown of Woodlands”.”

And you did not bother to tell me?” Sheba roared. My Majesty, I said earlier. I thought it was a joke!” He said.

In the mountain of the wilderness, we kept going ahead unstopped until we reached the waterfall in the afternoon. I told everyone we were going to rest and continued our quest the next day. On a bright afternoon, old Jireh died peacefully with a smile on his face. All the kingdoms were in grievance, Queen Sheba gave a letter to a dove to inform Nea about her father’s death. Nea was interrupted by the down who came to land in front of her. It was coming closer to her. Nea saw a piece of paper on one of its legs, which she opened without wasting time.

“Dear Nea,

I hope you are well but I am writing this letter with bad news--. “She paused.

Nea stared at me with a pale expression, but I encouraged her to keep going.

“...I am writing you this to inform you of the death of your father. He did this late afternoon. He was poisoned by two arrows while hunting deep in the woods. And I have a secret to tell you, which is you are older than Thalia. Love mama.” Nea said.

She burst out crying, but I hugged her to comfort her. No way! His Majesty cannot be dead!” Noe cried.

“I am sorry to tell you, he is, my friend!” Cal wailed.

I saw all of them burst out crying, but I was doing my best to be tough for everyone. Nea hugged me even tighter, she cried all her sorrow over her loss. Everyone came to surround her and give Nea their condolences.

CHAPTER FIVE

MIDST THE EYE OF A LETHAL WINTER

Night came by fast. I remained with my childhood friend, while the rest went to bed.

“Mea. Is this how it feels to lose a loved one?” Nea asked.

“Classic, right, Nea. That's how it feels, my friend. “I uttered.

“Never except for my father to go!” She said. Even worse, across the all kingdoms, the sky cries with rain because it has lost the most important man. Though it was rainy, that did not stop monarchs and noble people from burying their king. My queen, I am truly sorry for your loss. Please, accept my condolences. The woman's voice said. Queen Sheba glanced over her shoulder and met her closest friend. Herodias, I am so glad you are here. Thank you for your comfort. My husband was a great man. Who would want him dead?” Sheba sobbed. My majesty, everything will be fine. God knows why the king dies. It might be for a reason!” Herodia said.

“Right, you are, Herodias. Neither can I ask God why such a thing happened to my husband. His ways are higher than our ways.” She inhaled.

“Would you care to tell me where is the two princesses?” She asked.

“Out there somewhere. Nea went out for a few days, she will be back.” Sheba stated.

“I see. That is a good thing that Nea went out. It is good for her health!” Herodia remarked.

Sheba nodded as the two both the two women watched the coffin be allowed into the hole. It was covered by expensive decoration. After it was lowered into the hole, guards began to cast dirt in. In no time, the hole was covered up to the full. Thalia was in the crowds, surrounded by guards because Queen Sheba knew that old Jireh’s murderer would amidst the villagers.

Deep in the mountains of the wilderness, I and the rest of them fell asleep that night. Nea was sobbing in silence. Shiloh could hear her but pretended as if she was sound asleep. In the middle of the night, two curious youths giant beings unbound themselves out of the nearby mountains. Both of them paced toward our tents without making a sound. No time had passed, they were standing in front of us.

“Um, humans in this part of the wilderness? None of them ever come to this side of the wilderness.” One of them said.

We were all sleeping. It had even stopped raining, but it was cold in our tents.

“Quiet you. And you are going to wake our guests!” He scolded.

“I am sorry, Mercy, my brother. And it seems cold for them. Should we help them?” He asked.

“Well say, Boaz. But what do you think of our grandmother, queen of the Mountrocks?” Mercy gasped.

“I am sure she will understand. Huh, once we explained to her what happened!” Mercy stated.

In no time, one of the Mountrock brothers pierced the surface of the rock without a sound and left a layer of light rocky floor. He covered us with another hand from the cold. Both of them paced back to their people and put us amidst them to keep us warm. After the sunlight struck my face, I woke up but my eyes widened eyes were looking down on me.

“One has to wake up! Our Majesty, what do you think we shall do with them? They are life-threatening to our kind! Massacring our loved ones without a cause. Let us cast them in a burning furnace of the molten volcano!” One of the Mountrocks roared.

“Not necessary, Jordan, my old friend. They seemed to have an innocent intention to sleep close to the waterfall.” She said.

“Peace, my queen, you are soft-hearted. Would we ask their intention of passing in our valley of wilderness?” Another said.

“Excellent idea, my boy. And hello down there, would mind telling us why are you here?” She asked.

“No need to worry, majesty. We are passing by on an important mission?” I shouted.

“Christ, my boy. No need to shout we can hear you.” Old Peace chuckled. “Passing by to where?”

“To the Land of the Source of Life,” I said.

“Ahu, what are you going to seek there?” Jordan urged.

“Um, the Sword of the Spirit. Our lands are in the life-threatening creatures of the old. No man-made weapon can pierce through their skin. Though I slay one, but we don’t know about the rest of them—! “I paused.

“Mea, who are speaking with—no way!” Nea gasped.

“Wait, what is that you Nea, my child? It has been decades!” Peace asked.

After she bent down for close observation, but her eyes widened with thrills.

“Christ, it has been years. And how old are you now? Would care to tell me that childhood that helped my grandsons escape?” She remarked.

“I am seventeen. He's the one standing next to me. His name is Mea.” She chuckled.

Peace looks to me, recognized me to be so familiar.

“You do say! I was speaking with the boy who rescued my son from being killed by those terrible humans?” Old Peace gasped.

“That is the truth, my friend. And who brought us here?” Nea asked.

“My grandsons did. Telling us you were shivering from the cold last night!” Peace said.

“I see. It was nice to meet you. We have a quest ahead of us. And it nice seeing you again!” I said.

All the pleasure is mine. Have a safe quest, my boy!” She uttered. We mount our horses, and we’re on our way to the destination. When we were riding, a cool rainy breeze stroked our faces and hair. I observed the sky, in the distance the clouds were gathering.

“I am sure it going to rain when reach that part of the land!” I said.

“Right, you are. And we are almost there! Named is the land of sorrows!” Nea sighed.

“That doesn’t sound reassuring!” Shiloh shivered.

“I agree with you, Shiloh!” Noe said.

“Relax both of you. Everything is going to be fine. It is just a name!” Cal chuckled.

Moments later, we were in the land of sorrow, which was the meaning of its name. Everything was covered in ashes, dry dirt was everywhere. Though there were some trees through the harsh conditions, it was hot. All of us were lucky for the cool breeze from the gathering clouds.

“Can anyone tell me what happened here?” Shiloh asked.

“Meaning?” I asked.

“Well, I know this place. We have a fast way back home to come to this place. It was a bountiful wood. Overflow with all kinds of fruit trees, and herbs. Right, the whole place is wasted.” Shiloh sighed.

“Not to stress yourself, my friend. Rain is going to bring it back in its bounteous restoration glory.” I answered.

“Sure, you might be right. And why am I even stressed about it?” She laughed.

We pulled the reins of our horses and went forward without looking behind us. Later, it started to pour but we kept going ahead. Thunder’s lightning was striking everywhere, but we kept riding through the storm.

“We are almost there. And we can do it. By any means, avoid getting close to a tall tree!” I said.

“Why?” Shiloh urged.

“That the lightning target first!” I inhaled.

All of us find ourselves on the hillside of our last mass of land to pass through across a mile away.

“That must be very interesting. And now the king is no more, my father will be sitting on his throne. For the time being, that’s what I meant, Nea. When we get back home, would get the honor of being my wife?” Pila said.

“My good God isn’t that romantic!” Shiloh laughed.

“Nea, I am going to make you happy, I promised you. Neither do you have to accept me now, but at least when you are ready!” He remarked.

Nea stared at me for a moment but glanced at Pila. I pulled the reins without force as Brook rode away.

“Mea! Please, don’t go too far!” Nea said.

“Classic. But please focus on Pila’s proposal, I am not ready to become a ruler of all the seven lands in Woodlands!” I shouted.

“Fine. And stay where I could see you then, Mea!” Nea laughed. And you are joking my childhood friend because I know you like a book, she wondered.

“Nea, would you reconsider my propose?” Pila urged.

Nea watched me getting further, but could still see me. She turned to stare back at Pila.

“I am sorry about, Pila. But would you care to tell me what you like about me? For me, I am a girl who takes things seriously. Whether in marriage or friendship. I want to stay with the one who will be my husband till we get old, not nonsense. Listen, I am sure you will, but I—I!” Nea paused.

After turning around to look in my direction, tears ran down her face.

“No way! Nea, you are shedding tears. I don’t to describe what I like about you! And I am sorry if I did!” Pila yelped. “Nor do I enjoy seeing a girl shedding tears!”

All of them burst out laughing, except Nea who kept looking at me.

“No, this cannot be!” She said.

“What cannot be, Nea?” Pila asked.

“Never realized that all this while. All this while I have been falling for a boy from a swordsmith family. I am sorry, Pila. Huh, the more I see Mea, the more my heart beats faster. I was wondering why, but now I know!” Nea said.

“Nea, no! Please, don’t do this to me. I will make you happy!” He shouted.

“I am sorry, Pila. I have been in love with Mea ever since I was eleven. I used to visit the cabinet all my life, I case he returned. Or I could see him even for a second, but that never happens.” Nea uttered.

“But I am in so much love with you! And it is all his fault! If he did not return, you would be mine, Nea!” He roared.

Pila pulled his horse’s reins enraged, and rode after me.

“Pila, where are you going?” Nea urged.

“Could care to tell where you think I am going, princess!” Pila shouted.

I was wandering on the road, but something crashed into me. Brook got frightened, and I went crushing hard on the dirt. I observed in front of me, that Pila was staring down at on with fury in his eyes.

“And what is the meaning of this? Don’t tell me you got rejected. Jesus, my God! Mercy on me I beg of you, my lord!” I laughed.

I wipe the dirt off my clothes, but Pila launches at me in a fit of rage, I dodge him as he falls flat on the dirt.

“Jesus, how did the dirt taste? Satisfying. And would you like some more—whoa! My lord, would you calm down before you hurt yourself?” I begged.

“It is all your fault! All your fault!” He shouted.

“How is that my fault for you being rejected!” I asked.

“Ne-Nea all this while caring so much for you!” Pila growled.

“Jesus, I do not know love can make you this furious. And what are you talking about, Pila!” I urged.

“That's enough, Pila! Guards!” Nea roared.

“Right away, princess!” Both guards said.

Noe and the other one pounced on him. They were holding him to both sides.

“Let go of me! This instant, you two. Let me have him!” Pila roared.

“Not a chance, soldier. Christ, you truly have lost a screw, your lordship. Talking about being Lord David’s son, is madness! Imagine if our princess accepts his proposer, God help us all!” Noe laughed.

“Nea, what is the meaning of this? Tell these two to let go of me, I am noble!” Pila roared.

“Not in your life, Pila. And do you ever touch your hand on him? If you do, you will regret it! Mea, are you hurt? Injured?” Nea asked.

“Nea, um, are you a bit close?” I asked.

“Huh, yes, sure. And I am sorry, but still, let me check. I need to be sure. Trust me, Pila, if find any bruises on him, you will regret it!” Nea roared.

“Christ, majesty, calm down. You are frightening us here! Besides, we have nothing to do with Mea’s unfortunate demised!” Cal swallowed.

“Well, everything is fine. No bruises or anything, but what about the wound!” She said.

I observed Nea lifting my shirt, but they were only a scar that was restored.

“Fine!” She said.

“Um, Nea, what makes you so protective of me, so soon?” I asked.

“Taking him away from my presence, boys.” Nea sighed.

Shiloh was dying of laughter.

“Never get on Nea’s wrong side, Mea!” She chuckled.

“Um, sure, do tell. Especially when her younger sister strikes my arm with her sword. She did not take it lightly because she struck her back. And that is where I knew how life-threatening she can be!” I laughed. “Still, you haven’t told me what happened. Um, that made Pila lose his senses!”

Nea hugged tightly for a few minutes but climbed on her horse.

“Are you coming? It is getting late!” Nea said.

“Classic. So, it is a secret then, Nea!” I uttered.

“Sure, Mea. And nothing to worry!” She said.

“Jesus, you did reject his proposer then, Nea?” I said.

“Mea, Pila, is not my type kind of guy. And you know what I mean by his behaviors being intoxicating!” Nea laughed.

I look at her with a burst of laughter, Shiloh climbs on hers, and we head back.

Nea made she guarded my tent with guards. Though all the rest of us were asleep, Pila slept while being tied to a pole. Outside was pouring again but all of us were safe in tents. Morning brightened up the day while Nea came rushing into my tent.

“Nea? And why are you here?” I asked.

I saw her covering her nose.

“Jesus, Mea! Please, don’t cause my demise. Here is a block of soap. Get out here to shower. Have some clothes Papa gave me to give it to you.” She scolded.

Shilah was laughing but covered her nose too. I rushed out of the tent, took out my close I was alone, and jumped into a nearby river.

“Christ, my Living God, the water is cold!” I shivered.

I did not have any choice but to take a shower, and was scrubbing myself a yellow netting long scrub. When I dove into the water, I came out refreshed. I was rubbing an expensive lotion myself that smelled brook, rain, and other rich odors.

After I had done that, I put on my new clothes and boots. I roll up my pants after taking off my shoes, and socks. I went to wash my clothes. I was doing the last one, which was Nike shoes when something pulled underwater. I struggled to come up for air. After something came to grab me, set me on the rock I was washing my clothes on.

“I-I am sorry. Neither did I mean to. Don’t hurt me, boy! Are you hurt?” He said.

In front of me, I saw a snowy old man on the ice.

“My good God. And did not mean make a mess in your home.” I said.

“That is fine. We all clean our homes every time. This my first-time people like you.” The old man said.

“I see. And what are you--?” I asked.

“Mea, are you fine?” Nea asked.

“I am fine. And it seems I have met a new friend.” I said.

Nea pounced on the rock I was, in and was sitting next to me.

“I can see that.” She uttered.

“Friends. How many of you be there, my boy?” He asked.

“We eleven of us. And are passing by on this great quest.” I said.

“Marvelous. My name is Isra, the snow lord of my kind!” He said.

“Nice to meet you, Isra. Let me finish washing my clothes. We will be on our way!” I chuckled.

Moments later, I finished washing my shoes. We were on our way after we had bid old Isra farewell. Our horses were neighing but were in a good mood.

Land of the Source of Life here we come. And I can’t wait to see my rainforest. I miss them so.” I said. “Neither can I wait to see my cabinet deep in a peaceful woods.” I sighed.

“No, you are not going back there, Mea!” Nea insisted.

“Why not?” I urged.

“Because I want you to live with me in the palace!” She said.

“Um, what do you mean? And are you saying in Sion?” I blinked.

“That is right. Would that be fine with you, since Nathan has brought you grievous experiences of the past? Why not start something new in another newer location!” Nea said.

“Jesus, I never thought of that. Am I allowed to think about it, I will answer when we are at our destination!” I said.

“Then it is an excellent result. Besides, if you do not want to live in a palace, I will buy you a cabinet somewhere in the woods in a meadow. I buy you a cabinet near a refreshing river.” She stated.

“Classic. I will get back to you, Nea.” I said.

Returning to Nathan, David was sitting on the great throne. He was the crowned lord of Nathan, helping his subjects through the situation. Queen Sheba and Thalia were standing on his right. All of them were waiting for Nea's return, so the next crown of all thrones would be announced.

“My lord. We are in terrible danger!” The old woman said.

“Terrible danger?” He said.

“Yes!” She answered.

“From what?” David asked.

“From a shortage of our food. All our crops in the far are being frozen solid.” She said.

“Frozen solid? Would you care to show me?” He stated.

After the old woman took it out, all of their eyes widened.

“My lord! My lord!” The boy shouted.

David bounced from his throne, he paced towards the boy and helped him up. All the guards' hands were to their hilts, ready for any incoming threat.

“Breathe my child. Would tell me what is wrong?” He asked.

“Water! All water sources in other parts of our seven kingdoms are dried up.” The boy said.

“All our animals are dying one by one!” Another girl said.

“Yeshuah, my God. Would anyone tell me what is going on?” He asked.

“If may, my lord!” The guard said.

“Speak my boy!” David said.

“Can I and the other two go investigate? We might find the cause of all these problems!” He said.

“And I am going with him, uncle!” She said.

“Noami, are you sure?” He asked.

“I want to help as I can. All my life you have taken care of me ever since I was little. Nor ever have you complained!” Noami said. “When that swordsmith boy comes, I will tell him of my bravery.”

“I see. Do you mean, Mea?” Thalia urged.

“Truth, my princess!” She chuckled.

“Fine. Then I am coming with guys!” She said.

“I will go with them. I want to keep an eye on them.” Another guard answered.

“Great. Have your way, but be careful all of you.” Old David responded.

All four of them were on horses, going through the village. The first place to seek clues, where the location where animals died mysteriously. Hum, this might be some kind of disease.

“Christ Jesus!” Old Joe shouted.

“What is wrong, Joe!” Thalia asked.

“Poison. And it is the same as what caused the king’s demise! Fast, boy, bring all the animals in Nathan!” He demanded.

Joe saw the boy coming with only two animals. He took out an enormous bottle and put it in their drinking medium bucket. Both of them drank it.

“All of them shall be well,” he said.

Outside the mountain peak fortress wall, Nemeses, the creatures’ king, and his six creatures' army were in front of an invisible barrier.

“Here we go.” She said.

Nemesis’ eyes turn into the golden color. She touches the invisible surface, and it is engulfed in flames. Causing to make a big enough passageway for the six and a half creatures to go through. After she has done this, all the creatures go indoors.

“All the lands of the seven kingdoms are mine!” He cackled.

“Azazel, my old man. Quiet down, they will hear us! We need to not pay attention to ourselves, can’t we?” She scolded.

Azazel ordered his creatures, which begin climbing the wall.

CHAPTER SIX

NOT FIT TO BE QUEEN

Inside the fortress, the guards were keeping themselves warm, but something pounced on them. Though they fought back, their swords did not pierce through the creatures’ skin. None one them were left alive but laid in the pool of their blood. In no time, the heavy door in the palace in Obed, the seventh kingdom. Nemesis and the seven creatures marched next to the lady on the violet-colored great throne of Obed.

“My lady. Mother, we are back!” She said.

“Excellent, Nemesis, my daughter. And welcome to the palace, my father-in-law. “She answered.

“All the pleasure is mine. And thank you for having me, my child!” Azazel answered. “Are we ready to crush our enemy?”

“Hold it, my majesty. We are going there the next day. And cannot wait to see their face!” She cackled.

In the land of sorrows, I and the rest of the questers arrived in our third place, which is the domain of confusion in the late evening.

I and the rest of the questers were around the campfire. We kept ourselves warm. I took out my expensive crowny thick fur hooded coat, and I put on my waist though I stayed closer to the fire. Pila was staring at me but glanced at Nea.

“Mea!” He said. And what seems to be the problem?” I asked.

“Huh, I apologize for acting like a jerk back there.” Pila laughed nervously.

“Classic. Besides, that is fine. People can act like jerks when they are in love. It is understandable. I used to cherish my childhood friend the most. Trust his family especially her father to be good people, but right I am not sure.” I said.

“Isn’t it because of your family’s death? Mother, grandfather, and grandmother slain in the throne room. And the decapitated of your father? “Pila asked.

“Nice guessing, Pila. Ever since that day, I have never been in love. All I want is for her to be patient with me. It has been six years since I have been surviving alone in the woods. No one to connect to!” I stated.

“Not to worry, Mea. I am not in any rush!” Nea giggled.

“I see. And Pila, listen, I know you are hurt but there are many fish in the sea. “I said.

“Many fish in the sea? Are you suggesting that Pila should go wed a fish?” Nea asked.

“No, that is not what I meant. Many fish in the sea” means there are other many girls in the world. Where have you been living, Nea, under the rock?” I scoffed.

All our friends burst out laughing, and Nea was staring at me with a bright smile.

“Trust me Pila, my friend. When see the one for you, you will have a restless mind. That’s how I used to feel back then, but she was a noble girl. And it is forbidden for a commoner to interact with a noble girl, that’s the law over all seven kingdoms.” I said.

“And I don’t care about the law, Mea!” Nea said.

“Sure, that is the reason you want to sword practice with me back then. Not call, girl!” I said.

Nea laughed hard while we all enjoyed our rabbit stew and bread. After everyone had done their meal, they went to bed. Nea went to hers with Shiloh. I remained by myself as I glanced at the full moon.

“Um, tomorrow we will arrive at our destination. “I stated.

I went to rest, but around midnight I was awakened by one guard screaming in pain.

“Jesus, my Living God. And what earth is going on?” I cried.

When I looked around, I saw something moving underground. We were left ten of us though I could hear it lower rumble. After it emerged from the earth, my eyes widened because it was a vast insect never seen. It was a locust with the tail of the scorpion.

“Get up! Get up! Get out of this tent, now!” I screamed.

All of my friends, Nea, and Shiloh came rushing in. When I turned around, I felt a sharp pain in my back. I screamed in agony, which caused Nea to scream my name. Cal returned and threw a spear at the locust. It screeched in pain, and all ten of us climbed on our horses. In the carriage, Cal attended to my wound as I was sweating hard.

“Christ, no this again, but everything will be fine.” He said.

He took out the antidote, which made me drink, and poured some on the wound. I wince in agony but breathe normally.

“And what was that beast?” Nea panted.

“We are in the domain of confusion. It might be the creature that confusions--!” Noe paused.

“No, no everyone. Everyone gets out of the domain of sorrow. It is not safe!” I muttered.

Nea burst out laughing without making a sound, but Shiloh seemed worried. Pila was writing something on a piece of paper, in front of him, a red-tailed hawk waited patiently for him to finish. After he had finished, he folded it and the hawk flew away with it. Nea looked out the window of the carriage, which had ten seats, and a sizeable space where I slept peacefully.

“Mea, you must forgive. Must forgive the royal family, because forgiveness can make you do great things. And I want you to allow love in your heart!” The man’s voice echoed.

“Father! And must forgive the royal family! Must forgive--!” I yelped.

“No need to worry, everything is fine,” Nea stated.

“Um, where are we—ouch!” I winced.

“Need to rest down, Mea. And you are still injured, my friend. We are on our way to our destination.” She uttered.

“But my father told me have to forgive the royals. And must allow-! “I paused.

“--Love in your heart. We heard you muttering in your sleep.” Nea said. “No need to stress yourself. Besides, you have forgiven us for what you have accomplished. If you didn’t, you would not be here on this quest!”

I laid back on the comfort cushion bed. I was sleeping on my stomach, Nea struck my face as I slept without challenges.

“That’s it, my love. That’s it!” Nea muttered.

Everyone was worried about me but did not know were in the territory of our destination. All of my friends did not have a choice and slept throughout the night. I opened my eyes I looked around. My eyes focus on Nea for a moment.

“Allow love in my heart—huh. And how am I going to allow that?” I muttered.

My heart was thumping fast like a drum after staring at Nea for a long time, but I looked away in fright. I crawled out in front of the carriage, as I sent in front as the sun rose to brighten our day. My eyes widened in amazement. All over the place were surrounded by all creatures created our God. All kinds of birds in the sky, beasts, and clear vast water. Its horizon of the mountains was vibrating full of life. In the distance, as we got closer, I could see the word “Land of the Source of Life” in golden bold.

“We are here!” I stated.

I pull the reins of the horses and get down from our carriage. I paced toward the clear water, arrived at it in time, and drank it. After I had done to drink, behind my back the wounds were closing themselves up fast. I felt my strength restored a thousand times, but I returned to the carriage and carried on. Later, we find ourselves throughout the hallway of the grand palace within the mountain.

“Nice castle, everyone. And I wondered who ruled in this place.” Cal said.

When he said that, we were around about by women with spears in lioness masks.

“And who are? What brings you here? Are you here to damage our queen?” The girl asked.

“No, we are not. And what is wrong?” I urged.

“Huh, he got ill after an individual woman paid us a visit.” She said.

“Would you care to tell me this woman’s name?” Nea asked.

“It has been years, I have forgotten her name, but I will remember once I see her.” She said.

“Take me to your queen, please. I inhaled. Sure, this way.” She uttered.

After the girls led the way, we found ourselves in the throne room. I saw the woman with gray hair but was in a deep sleep. I paced up to her, took out the battle, and poured down her mouth. Times later, she opened her eyes and was looking around.

“Christ! And you are? Where am I?” She asked.

“Mama, you are awake!” She cried.

“Manna! I am awake. And where is that wicked woman?” She roared.

“She is no more. She disappeared before we could get our hands on her.” Manna said.

“I see. Who are these strangers!” The old queen asked.

“This boy is the one who gave you the reminder that wakes you up. And these are his friends.” She said.

“My queen we are not here for your reunion, but we are to seek for the Sword of the Spirit?” I said.

“Sword of the Spirit? And what for?” She asked.

“Our land of seven kingdoms is at risk with creatures that cannot be slain with man-made weapons,” I answered.

When the queen was about to say something, the sword came through as it came shining bright in front of me.

“Hmm, this strange. And the Sword of the Spirit never acts this way if anyone comes to ask for it. Would you care to tell me who are you, my boy?” She asked.

“And why not?” I urged.

Because all men who have come here to seek for it had wicked intentions. The Sword of the Spirit answers only to those who have a righteous heart. And believe in God faithful!” Queen Zuri said.

“I see. My name is Mea, I am from Nathan!” I said.

“Interesting. Nathan seems to be far. How are you going to get there in time? By the way, my name is Zuri!” She said.

“Nice to meet you, majesty!” I said.

After the Sword of the Spirit covered itself in a golden hilt, it came to put itself to my other sword. When it did that, saying our farewell to Queen Zuri, we found ourselves at the entrance of Nathan’s fortress door. All of our carriage was behind us, and the guards who were guarding the entrance eyes widened.

“Mea! My princess. And everyone, welcome back!” He cried.

“Wait a minute, where is my brother Imma?” Another asked.

“I am sorry, we lost him,” Nea said.

“No! No! He was the only family I have.” He said.

“My condolences, Heron. Imma was the kindest and most hilarious guy. He used to get on Pila’s nerves when we were young. We will miss him,” Nea sighed.

Both guards opened the heavy door, and all ten of us rode in our carriage. We arrived in front of the palace, came out of it, and were marching in the corridors of the palace. We find ourselves in front of the throne room.

“Mea! Nea! And you’re back?” Sheba said.

“We are. What is going on? I am sure you have reconciled?” I urged.

“We did, my son. Please, about your all family--!” She paused.

“Um, it is all the past, after all. And for Nea, I forgot to have told you that when we reach our destination, I will tell you--!” I said.

“Go on!” Nea chuckled.

“I lied that I don’t know anything about love. All my life growing up deep in the woods, though I was overwhelmed with grief, I never stop thinking about --!” I paused.

When Nea kissed my lips, I jumped back in embarrassment. All our friends burst out laughing.

“I am sorry. Does it feel weird or what?” She urged.

My face was heated, my heart thumping even faster than before until I couldn’t breathe.

“Huh, sorry, sorry, sorry, Mea. And I should wait for you to finish the sentence!” Nea swallowed.

After I pulled her to my bosom, she yelped in fright.

“Nope, you are too late, majesty!” I laughed.

Nea hugged me tightly, but her mother came to pull her from me, and me, on the three-step staircases. Old David gets up from the orange-colored great throne and puts Nea on it.

“David? Mother, are you sure I am ready for this--?” Nea paused.

When all guards’ hands were on the hilts of their swords, it was Thalia and the other three.

“Thalia! Everyone!” Nea said.

“Our Majesty is back. Long live the queen!” All said.

“No, she is not yet the queen. Old David has not even read the decree Papa left!” Thalia roared.

“It is true of what you said, my princess!” He said.

Nea got up from the throne, while Thalia paced to all three of us. Old David unfolded the decree and read it to all Nathan’s subjects.

“Dear David,

If you are reading this, that means I am resting until the day our Lord Jesus returns. And He is at our doors. I am living this decree to you because you are the one I trust the most. I am having a challenging time choosing between my two daughters. Still, the right princess to sit on my great marble white throne is Nea. She will be crowned queen in Ziona. Love their father, Jireh.” “Old David said.

“No! No! And how could Papa have done this? No!” Thalia roared.

Her eyes turn into the color of the furnace. Causing the palace to crack, and hot boiling lava peeks out of it.

“Thalia, calm down! Neither was my choice but the king!” David said.

All of us watched her collapse to the floor but was rushed to the infirmary room. Later, in the infirmary, Old Jireh was attending to her well-being surrounded by her family, me, Shiloh, David, and everyone. In the throne room, the throne room was bust wide open. Other guards who were guarding the throne room unleashed their swords but were flung hard on the wall, which caused their heads to crack. Nemeses, her mother, and the creatures paced in as the woman cackled in malevolently. She came to sit on the orange great throne.

“Long live the queen!” Nemesis chuckled.

“Ahu, how long am I going to live!” She said.

Outside, there was chaos as the creatures massacred the guards who put up the fight, but they were no match for their strength. All of us overheard screaming outside, but the door was swung wide open.

“My queen! My lord, we are under attack!” He screamed.

“Under attack? By what?” Old David urged.

“Our worst enemy, the creatures is here. I am the only one who survives!” He screamed.

“No, need to worry! Protect our queen and princesses. And I am going to see what is going on! Mea, are you coming?” He asked.

I unsheathed my Sword of the Spirit, but Nea hugged behind me for a moment.

“Um, Nea, I have to go. It is not time for this right now!” I chuckled.

“Wait, please, for a moment!” Nea said.

“Um, I guess, old David you need to go ahead of me!” I uttered.

“Right, away Mea. Please, come as fast as you can.” He begged.

“I will. Not to worry.” I said.

Nea came in front of me, but we were interrupted by a familiar voice.

“Let go of my man, Nea!” She said.

Both of us turn around and we net Thalia’s eyes open.

“I am sorry, your man! And I thought you hate him, in the name of being a farmer swordsmith boy!” Nea scolded.

“That was back then, but congratulations on being the next queen!” She laughed.

“I see. I am glad you are awake, little sister.” Nea said.

“And she knows that she is older!” Thalia gasped.

Both observed their mother laughing hard. I said farewell to both of them, but all wanted to come with me. After I unleashed my sword, it was engulfed in a fire furnace. I observed the swords of all the guards have the same burning color. All of us engaged with the creatures and overpowered them one by one. Nea watched their mother though she was aging, but skillful in sword combats. Her sister, Thalia, was even better than back when they were eleven years old. In the throne room, old David paced through but was surrounded by the creatures, and Azazel walked in front of him.

“Should you drop your sword? Or died at my hands!” He snarled.

“I see. And I am you are the one who should. Leave my palace to where you belong!” David ordered. After he is smacked on the back of his crown, old David crashes with a thud.

“Nemesis! And what was that for? I would handle him?” Azazel said.

“Nah, he is too old to do. Aren’t you to revenge my father to that boy who slew him? And I wonder where is he hiding. Perhaps, somewhere in the woods.” Nemesis laughed.

Old David was taken away by the creatures, and they put him in the dungeon in chains. Later, the villagers of Nathan were brought before the wicked woman.

“All of you know the reason you are here!” She said.

Never will I bow down to a wicked woman like you. Neither are you fit to be queen!” One villager roared.

She observed all the others agreed with him, but the creatures brought them in front of the lady of Obed. After she took the sword of one of the dead guards, she decapitated all of them.

“Is there anyone who wants to go against me? Speak up, I dare you!” She roared. “Unforgivable! Neither I forgive my brother! I was the rightful queen, but my father says otherwise! I was too proud, “he says. I am not fit to rule!”

“Mother, what are you talking about? Old Jireh was your flesh and blood?” Nemeses urged.

“That is right. He was my younger brother. Our father used to tell us I was his cousin but later found out to be my brother. Though he impregnated a girl after defiling her, but that isn’t the reason to hide such important information from me.” She said.

“But you were an illegitimate child! And you were born in adultery by the king!” She said.

“Not anymore. Now I have taken my place as a rightful ruler!” She cackled.

Azazel’s creatures pushed all those who refused to bow down to her by force. When they have done it, she lets them go out of her sight. Outside, the guards fought with fury as they overpowered the creatures. Deep in the woods of Nathan, a legion of the seven kingdom armies were on their way to the palace. Though they had challenges with the best, but massacred them while their horses’ hooves galloped like thunder.

“We are almost there men. We must hurry!” One man said.

All of them roared in victory in Jesus and were on the view of the palace’s fortress wall.

Inside the palace, I and the others vanquished the creatures without holding back. We were getting closer to the entrance of the throne room, Shiloh fought well with her spear without holding back. Later, the palace began to shake, but outside Mountrocks were on their way, and Icepeople. Shiloh’s same-age girl with the other people in their enormous hawks was on their way. When they arrived, they began picking them one by one creature and dropped them from the height to their death. All they arrived they began to pick up the creatures, crash them with their hands to death, and freeze them into solid ice statues.

“Out of our lands to where you belong creatures of old!” Old Mountrock’s queen roared.

“Crush them all my people! If Nathan is a life threat, so are all the seven kingdoms. I will not be going to allow my people to suffer by your hands!” The old king of the Icepeople shouted.

Manna and her warriors from the Land of the Source of Life came out of nowhere in front of everyone and fought side by side with the guards. Even worse, Miriam, her cousin Ezra, and their warriors came to engage with the creatures as their weapons burned in furnace color.

One creature came rushing into the throne room, but Azazel rushed to her. And what is going on?” He asked.

“We are under attack. It seems as if the people of this land are fighting back! Their swords have massacred most of our people. Please, my king, we must retreat—!”  She screamed.

After Azazel cut her head off, both head and body collapsed to the floor as it turned dark.

“Never! I will not surrender!” He roared.

All the creatures’ guards shivered in fear, he snapped his figures as the dark gooey was cleared from the marble white floor with an orange fine linen carpet.

CHAPTER SEVEN

THE DAMNED ONE ON THE THRONE

All the armies of the seven kingdoms ride in the palace of Nathan’s kingdom. Vanquishing the creatures one by one without holding back, but inside I and the other arrived in front the door of the throne room. Thalia had gone somewhere out of everyone’s sight. Another army that came with the general galloped to the right side massacring the creatures on their way. None did not hold back on slaying their opponents. Inside the palace, I and the rest of the others paced in the throne room.

“My, my, what do we have here? Get out of the throne of Nathan, Herodias. And go back to where you belong!” I roared.

“Not even close! This throne belongs to me. And I am the rightful heiress. “Herodias cackled. And what do you mean?” I asked. Old Jireh is my younger brother, but our father gave it to him as king!” She answered.

“He was right about giving the throne to old Jireh because you are not fit to rule! “I scoffed.

“Fine. And if you won’t bow down to me, then you are against me! “Herodias cackled.

“Herodias! Herodias, how could you do this to me?” Old Sheba stated. “I thought we were friends.”

“Marvelous. Friends? What kind of friends, never! And spare me with that, Sheba. All I want is to take what belongs to me!” She answered. “This my last warning or die standing!”

When Herodias did not see us bowing down, the creatures were around about the throne. All of them unleashed their swords. Other few charged after charging us, but we fought without holding back.

Overpowering most of the creatures, only a few of them remained. Azazel’s eyes widened when he saw me. He stared at me with fury, but I was not afraid of him. Nemeses pulled him back as she whispered something in his ears.

“Sure. You might be the right grandchild. “He sighed.

“Never I wrong. And what do we have here if it isn’t the boy who slew my father?” Nemeses chuckled.

“Nemeses, what has gone wrong with you now? Um, you used to be the kindest person in all seven kingdoms?” I asked.

“Well, I grew up, and become stronger. Spared me with that name of being the kindest girl back then. I used to have feelings for you back then, but no matter how hard I try you are always in love with my cousin.” Nemeses roared.

“Um, I am sorry for hurting your feelings but I trying to keep myself alive,” I said.

“And yet you are here helping the people who cause your family’s demise.” Herodias chuckled. “Would you care to tell me why are you helping them?”

“I was thinking of you joining us. And together we shall be unstoppable!” Nemeses answered.

My eyes widened as I glanced at Sheba and then Herodias with her creatures. I was going back and forth, but I came to a stop because glanced at Nea. Her eyes were widened with a frightful expression.

“Mea. We did not mean to cause your family’s death. Please, save us from her wicked way!” Nea begged.

“Never mind about cousin. Mea will be all mine--! “She paused.

I went to hug Nea tightly, but let go of her.

“No, thank you Nemeses. And it is a hard pass. See I am in so much love with a curtain girl from a noble family. Though I tried to forget about her all those six years, I kept thinking about her. And would you care to tell me where is old David? “I urged.

“Great. And I knew it would come to these. To tell you the truth, he is in the deepest, darkest dungeon. Would you all love to join him? I can arrange that!” She cackled.

Nea pulled me by my side and pecked my lips again as my heart thumped a bit. Nemesis was overwhelmed and enraged. Her eyes were in the golden color of fire. She waves her hand, and Nea crushes hard on the wall. I observed her being unconscious.

“Nea! No!” I screamed.

“Not fine at all. And good night, my sweet cousin. Don’t you worry Meq, I am going to take care of your precious heartbroken man.” Nemeses scoffed.

“Not in your life. Or the next, Nemeses!” I roared.

After I collapsed to the ground, Nemeses unleashed his sword and was about to cut my head off, but old Sheba came to my rescue. Her sword crushing with her, but Nemeses went crashing hard into the wall.

“Get away from daughter’s boy. And no one gets away with harming my girls’ someone precious person. Mea, I need you to rise. And Nea will be fine, I am sure of it.” Old Sheba said.

Herodias was overwhelmed by fury, which caused her eyes to turn in the color of fire.

“Neither are you going to get away with this Sheba. Besides, you and your precious children will perish. For dare to harm my daughter.” She growled.

“Excellent. I would say the same to you. And I suggest you get out of that throne before things get difficult. “Sheba said.

“Let me think about it. Nah, it is a hard pass, my friend. I am a queen now. “Herodias said.

“Nope, I am not sure about that, old friend. And should I recall you got married to a lord of Obed, not a king has my husband?” She stated.

“Neither were you but a farmer’s daughter. You seduce my little brother with your charm, and he falls for her. I thought that to be disgusting, but my father thought it was romantic. Besides, seeing you doing the same disgust me!” Herodias cackled.

“See that’s why your father did choose you as queen. Back then you were spoiled, arrogant, and treated those who were below your statues like dirt. Many suitors who for your hand in marriage were commoners, but you treat them worse without remorse. If old Romain had chosen you as queen. God helps us all!” Sheba said. “I know you better, Herodias. And you used to throw a tum-trum with everything.”

“Enough! Quiet, Sheba. Or don’t make me do something I am going to regret. And cast your precious daughters in slavery.” Herodias roared.

“Nor do I have fear of what you are going to do to me. Truth hurts yes, because it is a double-edged sword. Besides, forgiveness is such a great thing. If you do forgive, you can do the impossible.” Sheba said.

“Nice. And I have forgotten you would say such nonsense, my friend. And after I am done with you, I will get rid of all those farmer vermin! “She cackled.

“Then you are a fool, Herodias. Please, I beg of you allow forgiveness in your heart. You do not think straight!” Sheba begged.

“Forget about it, my majesty. Don’t waste your breath on her. She has gone too far. There is no point for her to come back. All this enrage she has for us commoners in her heart. It is not our fault, we were born in such conditions!” I said.

After Nea opened her eyes, which caused her to come to my side.

“Mea are you well?” She asked.

“I am now since you are by my side,” I said.

Nea chuckled as she helped up, I could see Sheba overwhelmed with overjoy.

“I am glad to be born in a farmer’s family but got blessed to be married in a royal family. But I was blinded by how better I was than others. I have forgotten who was once. Besides, I am glad Nea did the same as her father. I mean, falling in love with a swordsmith boy.” She said.

“That’s it. I got enough of this. Get rid of them all!” Herodias scoffed.

The creatures in the throne room charged after us, but we overpowered them as we watched them burn to ashes. Their screams echo into the corridors of the palace.

“My, my, what do we have here? Vengeance is mine! And I will get rid of the boy who slain my son!” Azazel cackled.

Night covered the once afternoon like a revan-colored blanket, outside the barrier, creatures were coming to all sides but were scorched in flames.

“No! No! And what I have done? My uncle will have my head!” Marcin cried.

Later, Marci was panicking as he went back and forth thinking of what he should tell his uncle when a flaming thing fell on him. He screamed echoes through the wind, but after the snow had settled, it was a vast stone. Inside, two of the Mountrocks’ grandsons cast at him.

“Nice one, Mercy, but we need to make sure we have massacred all of them!” Mercy’s brother said.

In the snowy caves, hundreds of the creatures remained but were disturbed by gigantic stones crashing into them. All of them perished without a chance of escaping and were buried in the mountains. All around the mountain fortress wall, thousands of Mountrocks were around about to fend off the kingdom from any creature’s invasion. No time has passed, in the palace, I and the other fought without holding back. Narc’s old man beat a lesson out of me, I was lying on the floor defenseless. Azazel was skillful in hand-to-hand combat with a sword. Most of the guards lost their lives to the remaining creatures.

Other Mountrocks and Icepeople were brought down. Mountrocks were demolished in pieces, but Icepeople were throwing balls of fire covered in tar.

“Give up, boy. And why insist on fighting when you know you can’t win? Would be easy if you lay there still as I crushed you to death.” He cackled.

When he smashed into the wall, Azazel charged after me with his sword, but I stroked it out of his hand. I observed it burning to a pile of metal.

“Never mind about that! I crush you with my bare hands! “He roared.

Azazel pounced on me, but our strength went toe to toe. I overthrew him hard to the ground. He charged after me, but I tripped him and he went flying across the floor.

“Mea, are you unwell?” Nea asked.

“Classic. Never be better--!” I paused.

“Mea watch out!” She screamed.

I somersault while picking up the sword of the spirit and threw it at him. I observed a piercing in his chest, which caused him to scream in agony. After the throne room was overrun by guards, ten lines were in front roll, and the great throne was behind them. Herodias sat on the throne with malevolent laughter.

“Never seems to surprise me, Herodias!” Sheba laughed.

“Neither do you have any idea what I will do to be queen, my dear!” She said.

“I am sure you are not queen then!” She laughed.

“And what is so funny, Sheba? “Herodias urged.

“Ah, you brother was crowned as king in Ziona, not in Nathan, you incompetent of a queen. Ziona was anointed by God to be the place for all kings or queens to be crowned rulers. Who will lead their subjects in truth and Spirit, but your heart is blinded by an unforgiven heart that you can see? I was crowned queen of all seven kingdoms in Ziona. But you are an imposter, your royal majesty! “Sheba laughed.

“That was well spoken my queen. Nice to see you amidst us, nephew!” He said.

He was glancing at me with a smile.

“And you are?” I asked.

“I am your adoptive father’s brother. I was out of training as a guard, but when I returned, everyone was gone. I heard my sister-in-law, father, and mother died from a lethal wound in the throne room. And my brother, his head cut off!” He said.

“No need to remind me that, but I am here to save all seven kingdoms, Nathan where I grew up, and my love!” I said.

I stared at Nea who chuckled nervously.

“I was right about you two ending up together, but you to say I never fall in love. So, what happens? My older brother was tricky the same way?” He laughed.

“I heard that. Neither do you have to tell me twice. Besides, I am my father falling in love with the girls who tricked us!” I scoffed.

“My name is Redeem. And you were so little to remember my name.” He stated. “I was thinking after this you could come to live with me in our old cabinet in the woods.”

“Mercy to ruin your little party, but Mea is coming with me to Ziona,” Nea said.

“My majesty, yes. And did he accept the honor? If he did not, allow me to knock some senses into him. “Redeem scolded.

“Put your fist down general. Mea, did accept the offer though it was tough because of past events!” Nea said. “Besides, never touch him, understand!”

Redeem stared at the queen but burst out in laughter.

“My queen, it seems as if we have Sheba Junior here! So frightening I see! “Redeem laughed.

“I can see that, general. And if I were you, I would be careful. Nea is so protective of your nephew. “Sheba said.

“For real? “He asked.

“Sure. She even hurt her little sister, for injuring him!” She said.

“So frightening, my queen. “Redeem said.

“Guards, get rid of them all!” Herodias remarked.

After the guards pounced on us, no one could die. Though Redeem stabbed, cut their throat, and decapitated them the guards kept regenerating to life.

I rushed to unpierced my sword, but I challenging time. Later, I managed to hold the Sword of the Spirit in my hand. I observed the swords of everyone burning brightly. When they engaged with the guards that cannot die, they crumbled to dust. We overpowered our opponents without holding back. When I observed Nemeses waking up, I lifted a spear and threw it at her as it pinned her clothes on the wall. Though she tried her best to free herself, but could not.

“Curse you, Mea! And I promise you that you will never get away with this!” She screamed.

“No hard feeling, Nem! And I already get away with that, my friend!” I uttered.

I and the rest of the others have vanquished three lines of Herodias’ undead guards. Most of our guards, we killed by the wicked woman’s guards. Later, more of our guards with the army came and clashed with the guards overpowering them. After Herodias stood up enraged, she flung most of the guards on the wall with invisible power for her crimson-colored eyes to their death. She set her daughter free and charged after me. Nemeses picked up the spear I used against her and threw it at me, but I dodged as it slain one of their guards.

“My good God. Nemeses what happened? And I am sure you to be the best at aiming, what’s wrong now?” I asked.

Enraged, she and her mother unleashed their sword boiling with poison, but I dodged all their advances. I watched Nea and the others fight without holding back. I saw two remaining lines of the guards that could not be slain, but Redeem and the others overcame them. Sheba put Nea on the throne, and Redeem and thousands of guards surrounded them. All of them watched us fight, but Nea got up from the throne. She came to engage with the rest of her guard, but Sheba sat on it instead as she smiled at her daughter.

“My queen, are my eyes deceiving me?” Redeem asked.

“Nah, it is not, general. It seems as if my husband was right. In crowning her heiress of all the seven kingdoms. I am sure she will be a greater queen than I am.” Sheba said.

No, need to stress yourself, my queen. I am sure you are great! “Redeem chuckled.

“Huh, thank you very much. Would you look at her fighting side by side with her love interests, friends, guards, and army? I am sure the crown is in safe hands.” Sheba said.

“And she seems to be overwhelmed with joy.” He remarked.

“I ser. You don’t say.” She laughed.

“Get out my throne, Sheba!” Herodias said.

Redeem defended her with his sword and knocked her to the ground.

“Not on my watch, Herodias. And you sin as caught to you?” He said.

“Would you care to tell me what this sin you are talking about? Neither do you have any proof you incompetent general!” Herodias shouted.

“I am talking about you murdering the king with your poison arrow. “Redeem said.

“Wait, what? And what are you saying? Me? Murdering my only brother?” Herodias chuckled nervously.

“Please, do not pretend, Herodias. Because I know you can do a lethal act.” Sheba said.

I overpower Nemeses by pinning her with the spear. She stared at me horrifyingly, but I paced away out of sight.

“And she is the one! She is the one who poisoned my mother!” The girl’s voice shouted.

I looked in the direction where we overheard the voice and saw Manna and the others.

“Are telling us that Nemeses is responsible for your mother’s strange illness?” I asked.

“That is correct. My good Jesus, you seemed to be in a sticky situation.” Manna laughed.

“Do tell, Manna. And how do you two meet?” She asked.

“None of your business. And get away from her, my friend. She is bad news!” Manna scoffed.

She pulled me away from her, but Nea came to pounce on me, and we crashed to the floor laughing.

“Get to bed you two. It is embarrassing to be out here in public!” Manna scolded.

“Relaxed, Manna. We are not doing whatever is in your mind, my friend.” Nea laughed.

I was sitting next to Nea but was surrounded by Noe with the other guards. Both of us snickered in laughter, we got on our feet and paced towards the great throne. We paced on the three steps and arrived on time. Old Sheba got up from the throne, and Nea sat on it. She pulled me to stand next to her.

“And what is the meaning of this? Why is she on the throne instead of Thalia?” Herodias roared.

“I am older than her. And it was my father’s choice of decree to have the heiress to the throne!” Nea said.

“Would you care to tell me what are you going to do to me, little girl?” Herodias cackled.

“May remind you though I might be soft and kind as my father, I am much worse. First, for your treason against the crown, I am sure you know the law of the seven kingdoms!” Nea scoffed.

“No! No! And you will never get away with this, child! No!” Herodias screamed. “Second, your daughter will face the same fate! Get her out of my sight. And I shall see you at the village square. Off with her head!”

“No, no! Please, I beg off you majesty! Majesty!” She screamed.

Herodias was dragged away in front of everyone on the white shining marble floor, the guard raised his sword and decapitated her. Both body and head collapsed to the floor with a thud. Nemeses was dragged away out of sight. Nea stared at me, but I was closing my eyes. I was shaking, sweating, and all the rest.

“Mea are you well?” Nea asked.

“No need to worry, Nea. It is hard to forget about that past, but Herodias got what’s coming.” I said.

“I see. I am sure you are going to overcome your past trauma in no time.” Nea said.

I was pulled by her, and she hugged me tightly but let go of me. After I pecked her on the cheek, all the rest of the people burst out laughing.

All night the throne room was cleaned, outside the village square, and every place where they died of guards. Even Mounrocks and Icepeople returned to cleaning their fallen comrades. In the morning, when the sun shone on my face, I woke up. All of us were outside, Nemeses locked into the wooden locker, and her hands were bound.

“Never get away with this, cousin. For causing the death of my mother. I promised you that, in your precious family one is prophesied to become a thorn in the flesh. Is going to be the greatest Damned One.” Nemeses cackled.

“Off with her head!” Nea scoffed.

When the executioner raised her sword, was about to bring it down, but the wind came out of nowhere.

“And as for you, my Aunt Sheba, an eye for eyes; and a tooth for tooth. I promised you, I will be back. And vengeance will be mine!” Nemesis cackled.

“Execute her now--!” Old Sheba shouted.

When Nemeses’s head was about to cut, she turned into a cloud of smoke. She disappeared out of sight after being carried by the strong wind. Her cackle echoes through the wind.

“Find her! And I will not rest until she is found!” Old Sheba said. Nea was staring at me, but her eyes widened when my eyes were in the color of fire.

“Mean, your eyes!” Nea said.

“Um, what is wrong with it?” I asked.

Redeem gave me the mirror, but I dropped it to the floor, screaming in fright.

“My eyes, my eyes, my eyes! And what’s wrong with it? Would anyone tell me why they are burning in the color of a furnace? Don’t tell me I will turn evil like you know what?” I cried.

“Breathe, nephew, breathe my child!” Redeem said.

“Don’t tell me to calm down when my eyes in fire! Nemeses and mine are the same one!” I swallowed.

Nea was dying with laughter and her mother did the same.

“No, it is not, my boy! Besides, I have learned about the different colored eyes of them. And yours are called the eyes of the tongue of consuming fire. It is more powerful than Nemesis or Herodias. And with one touch your enemy will burn to dust. It is God’s gift through His Spirit.” He remarked.

“Classic. That is a relief. And what about Nemeses and Herodias?” I asked.

“They are called Damned Ones! And the reason is that they used their gifts to do wickedness.” Redeem said.

I was looking at Nea who couldn’t stop laughing but was pulled by my hands. We were holding hands while Pila and the others were staring at us with laughter. We were on our way back to the throne room. In the throne room of Nathan, Woodlands, Nea was sitting on it next to her right side.

“Where is Thalia gone too?” He asked.

“We have no idea where she is. Since we got separated. I hope she is well!” Old Sheba sighed.

“I am sure you might be fine, mother,” Nea said.

“Classic. She went missing in the middle of the conflict with the creatures. She could be anywhere alive. “I stated.

All of them agreed with me.

Later, in Ziona a carriage arrived in front of the palace. After Thalia came out of it, she paced into the corridors of the palace. Every guard welcomed her with a warm welcome but turned to look toward the outside door.
