CHAPTER ONE

MILLESON DONE TO YOU

All the boys charged after me but with only a kick, I flung them out the door, and were unconscious after that.

“Christ, Williams, you were not kidding.” Goodness gasped.

“Great. I hope you are here to arrest me because of that?” I asked.

“Not even close. Those boys got on my nerves and gray hair, so I wanted someone to put them in their place.” Goodness added.

“Jesus, you are a terrible grandfather, Goodness. And what brings you here?” I scolded.

“That is right. We ran a DNA sample on the finger you brought to us, and you were right. Clarence was murdered by Monsieur Decruz’s same. Later, it got eaten by wildlife. “He sighed.

“I see. Let me ask you this question. Could Caleb, old Obed’s twin brother still be alive? Is he even related to Monsieur Decruz? Or is it just a coincidence that they have the same resemblance?” I demanded.

“Not true. And what I am saying is that Caleb is not alive. He was defeated by falling to the seventy-foot-tallest tower.” Goodness said.

“Nah, Goodness. Caleb loses his balance and tumbles down to his dismissal. Um, from the seventy-foot-tallest mountain cliff. Not the other way around. And how could he have survived then, huh? I am sure he might sell his soul to be undead.” I stated.

“Might be right. My old friend Mr. Chanton told the truth, but I did not believe him. I supposed I must visit him.” Goodness laughed.

“And why?” I urged.

“He told me he saw a shadow hold a can that night when Caleb massacred his entire family. I mean his wife, all seven children except one escaped.” Goodness noted.

“I see. And I need to find out the truth. “I remarked.

“No, Williams, this case is for our law enforcement, but you go prepare for the dancing at the Townhall’s ball mansion. “He insisted.

“Nonsense!” I scolded.

“I am serious, Williams. Cases like this are dangerous. And who knows what awaits me if you come with me.” Goodness roared.

“Listen to him, Williams. And remember you promised my cousin, you must keep to that, right?” Winslow interrupted.

“Even better.” I groaned.

Goodness left our sight, and we remained ourselves. Winslow brought our burgers to us, and we enjoyed it. Night came by fast, and we discovered ourselves in our dormitories.

Nazareth, Nathan, and Simone were asleep as I was typing my story arcs. I went to bed too. Morning came by fast after Mrs. Macclenny walked in after knocking, but we did not respond. I was awake, typing on my computer in silence.

“Christ! Williams, are you awake already?” Mrs. Macclenny blinked.

“Morning. Mrs. Macclenny, what brings you here?” I yawned.

“I am here to give you this. And I know that you do not have any emotions in your heart, because of your harshness. Um, but Officer Willow was found dead. Both his heart and Mr. Chanton’s were found missing.” Mrs. Macclenny declared.

“I see. Even better.” I scoffed.

“I beg your pardon. And what do you mean even better? Seriously. Do you have any remorse for what happened?” Mrs. Macclenny asked.

“Enough, shouting Macclenny! Emotions people are weak. And I promise myself that I never had emotions. I mean all the tears shedding, what for?” I roared.

“Jesus Christ. And what has Milleson done to you, boy? I mean at that point that emotions are no longer in your heart?” Mrs. Macclenny ordered.

“Not just Willson but my parents too.” I scoffed.

“Meaning? “She asked.

“My family failed; my father wanted to be like him, though I know I was not, I did not want to be like him. He always told me that people who had Mwamba as their last name were highly intelligent. “I inhaled.

“Seriously? “Mrs. Macclenny gasped.

“Right. Looking around me, all my two siblings who followed me learned to drive, and have jobs to support the family, but I as the Mwamba family’s oldest son had none of that. And do you know what I love the most at home is writing, but my parents hate it?” I remarked.

“No way!” Mrs. Macclenny said.

“All true. My father always shouts to me that what I am writing is just a hobby, and it will never take me anywhere.” I forced laughter.

“Williams, I have no idea the reason you left home. And I took you under my wings without asking first. “Mrs. Webclass interrupted.

“That is right, Namani.” I inhaled.

“I see. Williams, you have proved them wrong, because you have billions from selling several copies of your books. Have you learned to drive, what not to be emotional about it?” Mrs. Webclass stated.

“I have. And so that is why I can never have emotions.” I answered.

“Even so it is best to fish out such a sad past by crying because you have won.” Mrs. Macclenny declared.

“And see why I told you that you are not different from Caleb’s late husband’s brother?” Mrs. Webclass renounced.

“Seriously? Did Caleb go through that, Naamani?” I blinked.

“Sure. He did when he was your age. He was shunned by townspeople, though his older brother Obed loved him so much. His father called him horrible names, but his mother held close to him all heartily.” Mrs. Webclass uttered.

“As he gets older, the girl that he loves unconditionally falls in love with his older brother. And lose it by becoming insane, classic!” I scoffed.

All of them blinked confusedly before laughing their eyes out.

“Still, never. I will not. I have enough heartache; harshness is my closest friend now.” I restated.

“Even so, here is a suit to wear at Townhall’s ball mansion. “Mrs. Macclenny said.

I sighed deeply as I took clothes from Mrs. Macclenny’s hands and hung them in my closet. Night windy cloudy sky came by that quickly, and all of us discovered ourselves in the Townhall ball mansion to celebrate Thanksgiving.

“Excuse me, everyone. And I am here to announce that all my students’ families are to celebrate Thanksgiving at the royal palace?” Monsieur Decruz announced.

“Royal palace? “I uttered to myself.

“That is right, Williams. And how do you like it?” The girl’s voice remarked.

“And you are? “I urged.

She uncovered herself, and I was shocked to see Winslow in a long-sleeved sweater dress that reached her thighs, royal pure golden line robins, and lower brown shoes.

“Winslow? And what are you wearing?” I blinked.

“Please, quiet down. People will hear you. And yes, I am a royal crowned princess.” Winslow whispered.

“Royal Crowned Princess? And won’t I face treason, or be locked in the dungeon for mingling with their princess? “I panicked.

“Nonsense. And would you care to dance?” Winslow asked.

Winslow pulled me to the dance floor before I could react to such requests.

“Would you look at Williams dancing with a particular girl in a hooded trench coat? “Nathan chuckled.

“Hold on, surely that is Williams. And he was saying he does not know how to dance, but his seriousness gave me the willies, Nathan.” Nazareth blinked.

“I could agree more on that, Nazareth.” Simone laughed.

Three of the boys snickered in laughter.

“I am pleading with you not to tell anyone that you saw me, Williams? “Winslow begged.

“I will not. And can’t I go now? Listen, I am exhausted so see you around.” I shouted.

“Right,” Winslow answered.

I rushed to the car where Mrs. Webclass and the rest were waiting for me. We drove out of sight as Winslow waved at me.

CHAPTER TWO

THE GAME OF SURVIVAL

Mileson was over the moon because she could spend time together with me through the forest of survival. She was heading to meet her cousin outside the staircase on the other side of the school.

“Michelle. Michelle? “Caleb whispered.

Mileson followed the voice into the half-lighter room.

“And what do you want with me, Caleb? “She demanded.

“Goodness my, and so you figure out what my name is? “He said.

“That is correct. Besides, what do you want with me? “Mileson urged.

“Relaxed. I am here to give advice. And it is your choice not to listen to me. “Caleb answered.

“Right. And what is that? “Mileson declared.

“I am telling you not to trust that little cousin of yours. “He warned.

“Meaning, Winslow?” She scoffed.

“Right, you are. “Caleb noted.

“And why should I listen to you? How do I know that you are not deceiving me to turn against my cousin who is precious to me?” Mileson urged.

“One is the crowned princess in line to the throne of Meadow. And I am sure it was you who was supposed to be the next Queen. “Caleb uttered.

“For real? And why should I worry about that, because my father is the youngest brother to Winslow’s deceased father? “She answered.

“Right. True, true, but you will be shocked by what I am going to tell you. “Caleb smirked viciously.

“Which is? “Mileson asked.

“I am telling you that your little cousin is going to betray you like my older twin brother Obed did to me. “He responded.

“Ha-ha-ha, please Caleb do not make me laugh. And are telling me I am going to turn evil like you? “Mileson cracked.

“I suppose. And what is wrong with you turning violent? “He urged.

“Never! Never! And why should I believe you again, oh, wait because you are evil. “She scolded.

“Fine. If you do not believe me. And if something happens, I do not want to see tears. “He roared.

“That means you do not want me to see your face, right Caleb? “Mileson laughed.

Caleb just scoffed and disappeared out of her sight through the mirror. Mileson walked out of the mirror’s sight into the room. Arriving in front of Monsieur Decruz’s office on time.

“Morning, Mitchelle. Are you ready to talk to Monsieur Decruz? “Winslow asked.

“Mean the two of us, right? “Mileson blinked.

“Sure. And then come on, Michelle, let us rush there fast. “Winslow stated.

Mileson agreed with their cousin, and both started climbing the stairs and arrived at the immense doors.

“Here we are, should both of us open the door? “Winslow asked.

The heavy door made a creaking sound as it opened itself. After that, the two of the girls walked in, and the door slammed shut.

“Morning Loyal Ones. And one of you will be injured terribly. The other two will be hospitalized. “The man uttered.

“Great. I do not know that we have a Talking Ink Scribble. “Mileson groaned.

“Talking Ink Scribble, such an insult?” He scolded.

“And what is wrong with that? “Mileson urged.

“I have no idea, but can you tell me? Oh-huh-um, you are getting on my nerves, gal!” He snarled.

“Eas up, Michelle. Are you seriously arguing with the pen? Loyal Ones? And what do you mean? Winslow remarked.

“I mean the two of you are important in Williams’ life. One of you will be his truthful girl who loves him so much, and the other will not. “He answered.

“Right, right. And what Jude said is the truth. Apart from that, what brings you girls to my domain? “Monsieur Decruz interrupted.

“Monsieur Decruz, I am here to talk on behalf of my cousin, Michelle. She told me that she has feelings for Williams that are unconditional. “Winslow responded.

“Falling in love with Williams unconditionally, but he does not seem to be interested in love. Adding to that harshness of his, he does not feel love any longer. “Monsieur Decruz urged.

“I know, Monsieur Decruz. And you can blame me for that because I am the cause of it. I am sure that Williams will give the feeling of love another chance, I promise he will not regret it.” Mileson said.

“I am sure he already does that. And to test if your feelings are real for him, just look out the window north. “Monsieur Decruz responded.

Mileson marched towards the window, and Winslow followed too. Both saw a dark wood that gave them chills down their spines.

“Um, that is the forest of survival. If the two of you survive by passing through that at sunset and arrive at the end of the exit, that means your unconditional feelings for Williams are true, Mileson. “Monsieur Decruz asked.

“Would you mind telling me other options?” Mileson asked.

“You must have the courage to protect the one you love. And both of you must do it together because there are ravenous beasts that will not insist on gobbling up fresh meat. Flames that can scorch you to oblivion, flowers that can suck you dry, and most of all Hollow, the Madhatter. “Monsieur remarked.

“Hollow, the Madhatter? And what is that? “Mileson swallowed.

“Find out for yourself, Willson. And remember that survival with your loved ones starts at sunset, try not to be late. Someone must help you but not your family or relatives. “Monsieur Decruz said.

“I understand, and Winslow please do not help me. “Mileson begged.

“And I am not going to help you, you are your sister. “Winslow agreed.

“Exactly. And I accept the challenge to prove how much regret shattered Williams’s heart in pieces, made him harsh, and I am willing to prove to him by showing my love emotions. “Mileson sighed.

“Excellent. And good luck with that, Mileson. “Monsieur Decruz said.

“I will. “Mileson declared.

“And remember, if you wish to give, just clap. My giant eagle will come to take you out of the game. “Monsieur Decruz said.

“I will not give up, Monsieur Decruz. “Mileson chuckled.

Monsieur Decruz sighed deeply but watched the girls walking away as he smiled. Around that time, I was in my dormitory writing my thrilling novel, until Winslow, Mileson, and Abbie marched in.

“Great. And what do the three of you want this time?” I scoffed.

“Williams, harsh as ever. Still, he has not become soft. “Abbie gasped.

“Not even a little, Abbie. “I scolded.

“Awesome. “Abbie sighed.

“And we are here because you are talking about a game of survival, just the two of you at sunset, understand? “Winslow stated.

“Even better. And do not try to chicken out Mileson! “I sighed.

“I will not but what about you? ”Mileson cried.

“Yahuwah, I am surely going to regret this.” I scoffed.

“Tough decision, Williams, my man.” Nazareth laughed.

“And who invited you, Nazareth.” I roared.

“Calm yourself down. I am sure that everything will be fine. I mean you got some deadly martial arts. All three boys that always get on your nerves are hospitalized. And I am sure they are not coming back to mess with you. “Nazareth chuckled.

“Not my fault, because I warned them. And I was not in a good mood.” I answered.

“I see. And well, good luck on the game of survival, lovebirds. “Nazareth said.

“Even better. I am going to barf. And please do not say lovebirds, Nazareth.” I inhaled.

Nazareth burst out laughing hard.

“Still, the game is going to be at sunset,” Winslow remarked.

“You have told me that before. Now can you please let me be? “I pleaded.

“Right, come on, girls. “Mileson replied.

I stood up from the computer, marched towards the entrance of the balcony, and I was breathing in fresh air. Later, sunset came by fast, and we discovered ourselves at the entrance of the game of survival. All our fellow students and instructors were behind us cheering for us. Old Hope opened the gate door, and we found ourselves inside.

“Almost forgot to tell you, Williams. “Mileson said.

“And that is? “I asked.

“Must come out alive at night for you to realize my feelings for you. “Mileson laughed nervously.

“I see. No worries. “I responded.

Both continued walking in silence on our way to our destination on the other wall. Reached the midst and saw what the Monsieur Decruz explained to Mileson and Winslow.

“Here comes the game of survival. And bring on! “Mileson sighed.

Mileson unleashed her double-edged sword, I did mine. The two of us continue going ahead through the darkest woods. Out of nowhere, we were discontinued by roaring, and the wings beast charged after us from the bushes. Two charged forward and beheaded it as it screeched in pain.

“Man, that was easy, Williams. “Mileson said.

“And do not celebrate yet, Mileson because we have not completed the game, Jesus. “I scoffed.

Arriving at the field where it was steaming ridiculously hot with flames, we penetrated through the huge tree. River water quenched it to nothing. Outside, Winslow was worried about her only cousin. So, she did not have any choice but to help her. Running deep into the dark woods, she whistled for her giant eagle named Ezra. It came to scoop her up. Both discovered themselves in the game of survival.

“Watch out Williams. Avoid sucking dry flowers. “Mileson cried.

“Sucking Dry Flowers? Classic. “I blinked.

Mileson burst out laughing, as the sun disappeared from the horizon. Winslow waited patiently to jump in where we needed the help the most.

“I am sure we are heading towards our destination. “I answered.

“Right. And listen, please, I know I hurt you, but would you give me a chance to prove my feelings to you? I was ashamed back then. “Mileson begged.

“So, I heard but I do not think I should trust you yet. Or any girl. “I nodded.

“I see.” Mileson sighed.

We arrived in the watery meadow wheatfield. Out of nowhere, a living scarecrow bounced on me. I flung it hard to crash into the nearby tree trunk. It charged after me, I fought it with my might. I was calling Mileson to help but she froze in terror to the core.

“Talking about your feelings for. And this is a joke for you! “I roared.

I managed to overpower it in time after I sliced its hand off as blood poured out of it. Hollow the Madhatter attacked us again. I continued calling Mileson to wake up, as I barricaded its attacks with my sword. It knocked me hard to the ground, but I had the upper hand. Charging again at us, Winslow jumped in. She picked up my sword and beheaded the Madhatter who screeched in pain.

“I beg your pardon, Winslow? And what are you doing here? “Mileson demanded.

“Saving our lives while you disappear in, I do not know, if it was oblivion. Jesus, seriously!” I shouted.

I marched away furiously.

“Winslow, you lied to me. “Mileson remarked.

“Please, do not misunderstand me. “Winslow apologized.

Overwhelmed with rage, Mileson flung Winslow hard on the tree trunk. I turned around, I saw her eyes were in the color of flames.
