Holland, like the country.

"If trees were humans, life would be easier. The world would not be polluted with ugly words because unlike us, trees provide life and oxygen. Always giving to each animal on the planet instead of taking life from those around it. It's a blessing and a curse to be a tree. It's a curse to be a human, but it's a blessing to be alive."

Knight in shining Armour.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a mansion along with his little sister and two parents. He was a boy who had everything but acted like he had nothing. He walked through the school with his head strung high on his shoulders and his nose stuck high in the air. He was the type of boy that made Hollands blood boil. Although she shouldn't care about stupid boys like him, she couldn't help think those thoughts as he walked by her in the hallway. Rolling her eyes, she continued down her path to her class, her laptop secured tightly in her arms and her hair falling over every inch of her face. pushing the long blonde and tangled mess back over her shoulder, sh sat down in her desk and flipped through the book she was currently reading. Smiling to herself she took a deep breath, this was her escape.

Not paying attention to her class or classmates she continued to read her book, even if she did pay attention it wouldn't matter to her, she was diagnosed with testing anxiety, so all of her tests were exempt or curved. She felt a hard tug on her hair and closed her book with a long sigh before turning around and facing a rather dark completed girl. She was smiling at Holland like she had just won the most beautiful award and wanted to brag about it tp Holland. Holland blinked in surprised, never actually have spoken to this girl before but it was easy to recognize her as the school hotties sister, Jada Knightly. Although her brother was a light complected person and she was darker, everyone knew that their parents had adopted Jada because they couldn't have any more kids after their son. It was warming to everyone that they had done that for Jada, but when you are two successful lawyers you could buy almost anything you wanted. even another kid.

"Can I help you?" Holland asked, realizing that they had been staring at each other for a long time.

"Huh? Oh, well, I'm kinda new to this whole making friends thing but I was just wondering if you were going to this party going on tonight. what's her name...Amer I think, she's throwing it because her parents are out of town and she invited me. I'm pretty sure it's just because she wants to be on good terms with my brother but oh well. what can you do?" She gave a half-hearted laugh,"Anyway, I know you're one of the very few people who doesn't actually like my brother so I was just wondering if you could be my plus one to the party? Just so that I can have someone I know there that is real to me and not fake." Jada said all at once without taking another breath. Holland started at Jada in surprise, wondering how in the world Jada knew Holland didn't like her brother to begin with. She turned to face the front and started to think to herself, what good could Jada want from Holland? Although she did look genuine in her confession Holland was dumbfounded as to why she would even want to be friends with her.

The more Holland thought about it, the more she realized that Jada probably wanted a real friend as she so stated. It must suck to have people pretend to be nice to you just so they could use you. Holland let out a long and slow sigh before turning back to Jada, who now looked sad by the assumed rejection of Holland and lit up when she turned back around,"Okay," Holland said slowly,"But I'm going to have to borrow something to wear, I've never been to a party."

At that Jada gasped,"First, thank you, second, how have you never been to a party? Aren't you a senior? And you're also very pretty. Are you single?" Jada asked abruptly.

"I'm actually a junior and I've never had time for parties," Holland shrugged, "and yes, I'm single. but I'm not interested in girls," She eyed Jada. who blinked as a response,"Huh? Oh no, I'm not asking for me!"

"Well then who are you asking for?" Holland asked, taken aback.

Jada gave a small smirk and leaned back in her seat, not muttering a single word.

Holland slowly turned around and shook her head before she started reading again.

It was almost the end of the day and Holland had her free class, sitting outside the lockers she was messing around on her computer and minding her own business when a small shadow covered her up. Looking up Holland was surprised to see Jada,"Hey! What on earth are you doing? come on," she pulled Holland up, "let's go get ready for that party." she smiled.

"But school isn't over yet." Holland frowned to which Jada frowned, "Where are you doing anything important?"

"No."

"Then?" she smiled and pulled Holland out of the school and away to her car. driving them both away to get ready for the party.
