If I could only erase me from your mind,

I could then re-introduce myself to you.

If I could only erase your memories of me,

I would try to win your heart anew.

If only you would just forget me,

I would be the fool you would fall for again.

If only I would be a stranger again in your life,

then I could ‘accidentally’ bump into you

on a crowded boulevard, and beg for your forgiveness.

If only you would not recall all the stupid things

I’ve done and said...insensitive stuff

without thinking how they would hurt you,

maybe, then we could start all over once more...

the way it should have been.

If...only you could be happy again.
