Hold me

Cold and lonely. Nowhere to go, except this place. I await you. Please come and save me from this misery. You promised me life; a life of endless bliss. Colors of the rainbow. Angel’s songs sung in pure celestial harmony. “Milk and honey would be your daily nourishment, “you told me.
I wait, but you are not here. Not a note. No letter of encouragement. I wait, biding my time.
I wait. My heart yearning for your tender whisper; your soft butterfly touch. My skin is aflame just from the thought of it. I burn with shameless want; with heated desire. Like a virgin on her blessed nuptial night, I pray that you come swiftly upon the wings of a dragonfly, and quench this thirst; this heat from deep within my mortal soul.
My heart leaps as a gentle knock darkens upon my bedroom door. I bound to answer. My feet flying as if on wings, to see if it is you who has come back to me this night; this sad and hopeful night. I fling open the door and cry out with joy to find your beautiful face looking at me with those eyes that I’ve missed so dearly. I kiss your face. I inhale your breath. I taste your mouth.
Your embrace and passionate kisses melt away the pain that wreaked havoc to my being, and calm slowly returns to lull me to rest. I no longer feel like an abandoned child. At last, I am whole again. You, my beloved, have once again returned to me.
